Littlewind53, I saw a joke not long ago that went something like........."Can we all please just agree to ignore whatever comes after BlueRay?" I had to second that. Everyone is tired of replacing their entire collections. I still have two VHS players - ha! Can't afford to replace everything --- all those Disney videos for the kids! Of course, now I also watch a lot of things by streaming over the internet.

So many things will change. I agree that landlines are on their way out. My husband hates cell phones, but I think that one day he will have to give in.

I LOVE magazines! Will be sorry to see them go. Reading them online is NOT the same. I have a personal library of books that I will never give up, despite having a Kindle. The Kindle is great for trips, but it is NOT the same as the feel of a book in one's hands.

Interesting that, at the same time that technology is advancing so quickly, there are so many people going back to homey "technologies" such as making their own natural remedies, cosmetics, soaps, etc, growing & canning their own foods, making beers & wines at home, crafts, home DIY, etc.

Magazines are going. There are many in existence but few last very long any more.

Slowly and surely wins the race.

Landline telephones. With all the cellphones & wireless connections, they will not be practical.

Blue Ray....... look at how the VHS is now obsolete. The 8 tracks followed by cassettes are now obsolete.

Windows....... They keep changing the programing and it is already outdated by the time you bring it home from the store.....

What is something you think might become obsolete within ten years? Why?
