I probably wouldn't go to a cemetary after dark. Not because I think the spirits will bother me, but you never know who else is hanging out there. However, I do like cemetaries. They're so quiet & peaceful & it's really interesting to read some of the tombstones. The cemetary where my father is buried is where many of the early St. Louis settlers are buried & there are some really unique stones - very old.

I would visit a grave yard during the day but Halloween night is probably a nono for me.
On Halloween during the day~no problem!! But at night? I'll pass!
I've experience, first hand, "spirits" up at my BF's sisters farm. NOT a place I enjoy staying at over-night. I have no problems paying for a motel & driving 40 miles to the farm every day.
My day is not complete until needle, thread & fabric meet!!

When I still lived in OH and went to WV a lot to do family tree research, there were many times my cousins, gr-aunt and I were in the cemeteries after dark ~ didn't matter what day it was or what the weather, if we were there, our cars were on auto-pilot and we always ended up in one or two ~ lol As a Christian, I don't believe in spirits here on earth since they are waiting in Hades or Paradise for Judgment Day but we do have to watch out for the living who may sneak in and get you ~ lol Love the old markers and as one person said, the older, the better... so much history there.
The one I hated going to was the Oakvale, WV, cemetery... narrow, winding road up a hill (one car wide !!) and when you got to the cemetery, it went uphill a long ways and on the one side, a drop off to the railroad tracks below. Beautiful view from up there but I have post polio and walking is difficult so the steep hill at that cemetery was difficult for me to handle, especially when I got older ~ our family died in the 1800s so they were near the front, less steep area but still hard for my legs to handle. I'm from Columbus, OH, and the laws in Cols prohibit anyone being in them after dark. I live in TX now ~ not sure what the laws are here but we haven't done my husbands research here, although I hope to after I get my knee replaced.

Yes I would, and I have visited cemeteries after dark on Halloween. That is when it's the most fun! Cemeteries are interesting any day or night.

I probably won't visit a cemetery today...but I did walk through one last week. I just love the old stones!
ditto - i love cemeteries - the older the better - as they have much more character then the newer stones.

GOOD MORNING! (CAPS FOR VI)
I FIND GRAVE YARDS VERY INTERESTING, HOWEVER I MAKE SURE I'M OUT OF THEM BY 4 PM OR BEFORE IT EVEN STARTS GETTING DARK! I THINK SPIRITS DO HANG AROUND (MY GRANDFATHER) AND I KNOW HE'D NEVER HURT ME ( HE ALWAYS TOLD ME THAT THE DEAD WOULDN'T HURT YOU) BUT AS MY UNCLE (HIS SON) ALWAYS SAID, " NO, BUT THEY'LL MAKE YOU HURT YOURSELF!"
Karly, come visit Vero Bch, we have a nice graveyard. My grandparents are buried there. Kept up nicely.
The flowers and crosses along side the road are in memory of where someone had a wreck and died. Lots of those around, sadly.

When I was a child I was told ceneteries were scary and I shouldn't go into them. I was a good girl and didn't but now I love them.
