I must have been slipping--all I've been getting is underwear! But then again, I really like new underwear!
I really don't need anything except a nice Christmas with my Mom, who had a mini-stroke last month. A few nice "Kodak Moments" would be nice.

I'm asking Santa for some new software and exercise equipment. I'm asking my family to forgo presents to me and donate half of what they would have spent on me to my Relay For Life team this year. With the current economy, I'm afraid that our donations will really be down this spring and I want to start early and help my family spend less at the same time (except my one brother who has to get me the new Dean Koontz novel because that's tradition)

"I'm glad to hear that you all still BELIEVE in Santa!! Cuz when you stop believing ~ you get underwear!" -- Too funny!

I also have a friend that's MIA. She moved while I was in the Army, got married, had a kid, & I had her address at first. Then she moved, & she's always had an unlisted phone number, so I don't have a clue where to start. I don't even know what name she might use (Wendy/Wendie, Rodgers/Rogers/Cocopoti/?). She could have married again, too. The last I knew she was some place in Florida.

My wish list for Santa, 2008?

The same thing I have wanted for about 26 years now!
The knowledge of where my best friend is!
I've been missing her since winter 1981-2.

Sent a letter, it was returned, never heard another word from her or her husband. Don't have a clue!
That's all anyone, God, Santa, whoever could grant me, to fill the big hole in my heart, 'cause I 'll never be able to afford a detective.
I love her and miss her a lot, and even sad news would be better than this not knowing what happened to her!

So Santa, if you are paying attention: FIND SHERIL!
E~mail me if you want/need details! emoticon

Much Love,

Many Blessings,

Rita51Ann

I'm glad to hear that you all still BELIEVE in Santa!! Cuz when you stop believing ~ you get underwear!!

I was wishing to be a size 10 ~ but that ain't realistic, unless Santa really is magincal! lol

Highspeed would be nice, EQ6 (quilting design software), newest version of FTM....a rambler so I don't have to deal with split entry, and as long as I'm dreaming an energy efficient vehicle.

LAPTOPS ~ I LOVE my Toshiba!!! 17 inch screen with full keyboard. It's certainly more powerful than my Dell desktop! And I only use it for genealogy!!

I did say I wanted some resistance bands, a yoga mat (the floor is so hard on the ole bones now I've ditched the weight) and a ball.
Then my other half announces that he's ordered a multi gym to us both from us both for Crimbo.
Did my eyes light up? You bet

I actually would like the book "Google your geneaology". I've seen it advertised on worldvitalrecords.com and it looks really intresting and would probably be very helpful.

More time and energy would be great too!!

What I am asking Santa for... a 25th hour in the day that is exclusively MINE for MY projects... a winning Powerball ticket... a new battery for my laptop... exercise gear, including a bicycle.

I've asked family to please give me gift cards this year, as I've dropped from a size 24W to an 18. Nothing fits! Hopefully, I'll be a size 16 by the time Christmas gets here!

Christmas! I would want all my kids home for Christmas Eve dinner. Last year it was just my husband and me. I don't need much. Just a safe Holiday season for everyone.

Guess I am blessed & really don't want or need anything for Christmas.

Just wanted to say that I love my Toshiba laptop that I've had for 5 years. It was a gift from my Mom via inheritance plus the trip to Sweden. I could use an update on the laptop, but will make due. I paid around $1400 back then & you can get a comparable one for around $600 or less. The newer ones will be faster & have more space. It is great to haul around for genealogy, but nothing beats sitting in the recliner & searching away.

That really puts things into perspective, doesn't it? I lost my Dad to prostrate cancer back in 1982. If he could have lived a few more years, new health procedures could very well have saved his life. He lost his mother from ovarian cancer when she was only 32. And I've been through breast cancer myself. I was fortunate to have caught it early. It's still scary.

I got my christmas gift on Nov 10th when my husband had a prostatectomy and then the rest of the gift came on Nov 18th when the doctor told us the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes or seminal vesicles. He had already had a bone scan, CT scan and colonscopy in Oct and they all came back with everything in good shape.

There is one area at the top of the prostate where they cut the prostate loose that had cancer but he said 99% of the time when they cut that, the cancer that is there withdraws into the cancerous prostate when it is removed and it usually isn't a problem. Hubby will have his PSA taken again on Dec 30th and again in 6 months. All I want is for him to remain healthy.

Desktop computers are cheaper than laptops & more powerful, but the portability of the laptop & small "footprint" (amount of space they use) is, IMHO, worth it.

Tell you something about laptops? Is there anything in particular you want to know? This could be a very lengthy discussion.

Let me just start with a few things. I prefer a widescreen. I think it makes websites display the best. Unless you're playing games that demand a lot of hard drive space, pretty much anything on the market nowadays is likely sufficient. The same is true for RAM, video capabilities, & sound. You'll probably want a drive that can read & write to CD & DVD. A DVD-ROM drive means you can only read from it (read only memory).

If you go out to this site: www.dell.com/content/products/result
s.
aspx/notebooks?c=us&cs=19&dt=SmallGrR>id&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn
, it will help you look at different options. You can click on certain options, & it will omit the computers that don't fit the criteria. You can also sort the list by price.

Since I'm buying myself a Wii for my birthday (next month) with the money my mom gives me each year I'm asking for the games to use with the Wii fit (my DD20 is buying the Fit system for it). I'd like a new Coach purse, some Dansko shoes and a few other "low cost" items, lol.

NEVA42, check Dell's online Black Friday sales. I bought 2 laptops 2 years ago (1 for me, 1 for DD) that were pretty close to top of the line at the time for under $2,000, & I believe prices are a lot lower now.
