Good morning:
Wow it was very warm yesterday and today you almost need a jacket. The sun is out nice today though.

Not much happening here. I almost feel like a nap already. emoticon

I am off to get something done!

Enjoy your day.

Ellie, the weather sure is strange. Today was another grey, cold day here. I don't mind working so much when the weather is so terrible.

Only tomorrow to get through and then I am off to the cottage. I hope we don't freeze. lol

Gloria, big hugs to you.

Good morning:
Shirley I am glad you are enjoying your Fitbit. Enjoy!

Gloria it is hard when things are not improving at your house. I hope if you try the things Shirley says it will help.

Nothing much happening here today. It is already very warm and I think it will be A/C day at our house.

Our daughter sent pictures of their deck last night. They had a lot of hail and it covered a lot of it. The wind was bad and they had a lot of roads with overflowing water.

Enjoy your day.

Just a quick check in before work. I am really loving my Fitbit. I messed up the sleep thing last night, but it's so much fun to see how many steps you're doing and try to improve. A truly great present.

Gloria, I'm sorry things aren't improving. If I lived closer I would definitely come and drag you out for a cup of tea or something. You are going to have to get in touch with a senior's service that can drive you places at least once a week. My aunt in Toronto uses them and they are so worthwhile.

If you call your doctor's office, I'm fairly sure that the nurse could steer you towards the services you need. It's would make all the difference if you knew that you had a weekly shopping outing. Actually my aunt uses hers to visit my other aunt in a home and then have lunch with her brother-in-law so HE doesn't get too isolated. lol

Hi Shirley:
I really miss Gloria also. No I have not heard from her either. I hope she is coping with everything.

It sounds like you will have a wonderful time with a friend today. Enjoy!

We might have the grandchildren for a while tonight but still not sure if they are coming here or going to MIL's house. I am sure we will find out soon enough. LOL

Enjoy your day. Hi Gloria if you are reading this.

Looking forward to today. Having a girlfriend over for a salad supper. Going to force myself to exercise. It's sunny so I plan on doing laundry as well.

I really miss Gloria. Ellie, do you know how she's doing?

Hi Sandi, good to see you on the team. I also didn't make it to the cottage this week. I don't have a pool at home though. I've asked hubby for one, but with the cottage we don't really need one.

I am 160 pounds overweight. I am working with my doctor and a dietician to try and lose the weight once and for all. I also need to work with my new FitBit to get my exercise up. Yesterday was the first day I got my Fitbit set up and boy was I surprised by how little I did. I'm going to go put in my breakfast now.

Hi Sandi welcome to the team!

I could be a maintainer if I behaved myself. I don't always do that.

Congrats on your weightloss, you have been very successful.

How nice to have a pool even if it is not ready yet.

I usually head for the gym very early in the morning so I am off to bed. Nice to talk with you. Looking forward to talking with you again.

Good night.

It's Thursday night and me and DH are about to watch a movie...

I cleaned my house today, went to visit our brother-in-law that had the quad bi-pass surgery and didnt' make it to the cottage tonight.

I think my littlest grand is coming to visit this weekend. Boy, will he be upset to see the pool void of water!!! My DH is thinking of re-filling the hot tub until the pool gets going again (July 15 is the date we have for installation!!!!!) Oh well, such is life. We rolled the dice and lost this time...doesn't happen often.

I'm going to try to make my friend Ana a birthday cake flower arrangement. Gotta go to the craft store first thing in the morning and then off to get fresh flowers right afterward. She usually finds fresh flowers from me on her doorstep when she gets home from her consults with her oncologist. This time, it'll be fresh flowers...with a twist!

I ate cheesecake 3 times yesterday...and didn't feel an ounce of guilt. I'm not getting on the scales either b/c those scales tend to scream " YOU'VE BEEN BAD" at me :-)

I'll just be good, be busy, and be happy, and everything will continue to be ok.

Are there any other "maintainers" on the team?????

Cheers,
Sandi

Good morning Shirley:
It sounds like you have a great plan for the cottage this summer. You will still be able to work and have an enjoyable time away.

I am just getting all my stuff ready for quilt group. Lots of rain here at the moment.

Hi Ellie, I think I will go to the cottage tomorrow. I will work through the summer, but that's ok. I hope to get to the cottage Wed and come home Sundays to do laundry. I think that will work out. There are no laundry facilities at the cottage and it will be easier (and cheaper) to shop here and then go back up.

Hello:
LOL Shirley! I don't drink coffee but drink too much Diet Coke. I would be in trouble if I went to the dietician. You should go to the cottage and enjoy yourself. Too many things can happen so you can't get there. Go while the going is good. Too many things happen around here to change our plans, I am sure it is the same at most houses.

I really like going to Costco and getting stocked up. I just don't like the bill on the way out.
We need to go back soon. I purchased a top and pair of shorts and do not like either. I do like the top but it is just snug enough not to be comfortable. I may use it as a pattern before I return it. I bought their fresh shrimp in the meat department the last time we went. I cannot wait to buy it again. We enjoyed them for a couple of snacks with our meal.

I am looking forward to the Amethyst summer challenge. I am doing well with my meals and exercise but it is always good to have people to be accountable to other than ourselves.

Our gym has new weights and I am really enjoying them but they just got kettle bells also and they are adding to my routine. I have also started houla hooping.sp? I feel like a kid again. The gym has weighted ones so it is much easier to work them. You can gradually get to the none weighted ones. I think it will be a while for me though. I have bruises from using it.

Will you be working during the summer when you are at the cottage or do you get the summer off?

It is quite warm here but does look like rain.

Did an enormous Costco run after speaking to the dietician. Although I thought she'd give up on me, she is happy with the small steps I've made. Baby steps are ok, just keep moving forward. She is pleased that I have changed my breakfast. Dinner is not bad. Lunch will be the next big challenge.

So I got fruit, fresh (prepared) veggies, chicken, fish, and shrimp. I already have eggs. I need to address the coffee situation and also decide whether or not I am going to the cottage. I love it there, but there is no water. BUT there is coffee...I may just go! lol

Good morning ladies. Gloria, I'm sorry that you are having such a rough time. I hope that you can get a rest and just get out a bit. The weather probably doesn't help either. I am always more cheerful in the sunshine.

I am extremely tired as well. Yesterday was not a great work day, and I am very tired again today.

We got up to the cottage Wed and the kids texted that they were able to get into their new apt, so John and I went to Sudbury on Thursday morning. The plumbing isn't hooked up at the cottage or anything.

Thursday evening was John Jr's birthday. His dad took him to meet his friends at the Laughing Buddha in downtown Sudbury. They all had fun. John Jr. used his fingers to lick down 2 shots and was a VERY happy young man when he got home. lol Hubby had fun with the young people too - he always does. I had to stay in the apt with the dog. Giselle (who runs the university residence the kids used to live in) came with her truck and she and Sam moved one load to the new place.

The new apt. is smaller, but open concept so much better laid out. It is $500 less per month, so it is what my 2 students needed. We had rented the old apt. when John Jr. was first operated on and the rent came off our VISA every month. It will be nice to have that gone!

I overdid moving Friday and Sat. By Sat afternoon I literally couldn't walk/stand anymore. I am just too heavy for my bones even without carrying boxes. Sunday I did not help with the move. I left around 5 pm Sunday and got back to Ottawa around 11 p.m. I unloaded the car the next morning before work.

Ellie, it's nice that you got to enjoy quilting class. I know exactly what you mean about being more productive when hubby is not around. I am the same way. Silly, I know but it's the truth.

I am so tired I can't think straight. John took all the coffee to Sudbury as he won't have a vehicle to get more. I haven't had the energy to do anything. I will drink lots of coffee at work if I can stay awake that long. lol I had a hard time sleeping last night because of the wind and rain. I'm always more nervous without hubby.

Hope you both have a great day.

Good morning:
Gloria I hope things improve. You need a break from it every so often. I hope you get one.

Shirley you must of had a great time at the cottage. It would be a nice change for you also.

I am just back from the gym and I am hoping to get to the grocery store. I need some vegetables and fruit. Well I probably need more than that. I need to keep my fridge full of things to eat that are grab and go, or at least ready to prepare in a small amount of time. It is the only thing that keeps me behaving.

I hope you have a good day. Talk later.

Hi girls. By now you know/realize I'm on a spark break. I'm worn out, tired, from Rolly. He just cannot sleep during the night and snatches a bit of sleep here and there during the day. Our life is one big mess right now! He mostly lays on his bed during the day and yesterday he sat on the front porch for a while, but I've had to cancel the fellow who was coming to do some outside work. Rolly needs to be alert/aware to have him come, he has to be with the guy, show him what needs doing, etc. I can't do that! And now I keep getting depressed and am having a hard time dealing with that and overcoming it. It's an off and on thing.

I'll pop in here as I can but I just can't get back to sparks yet.

Good morning:
Gloria the bacan was still there so I didn't have to make anymore. LOL
The quilt group was fun and it was a cold and wet day so I didn't miss anything.

It was nice of the man to let you know he was not coming. I don't like waiting, even if I have no plans to go anywhere, for someone who may or maynot come.

We went to see the grandchildren yesterday. We had a nice day. We went to the new Target store there, I was good and didn't buy anything. We took our daughter and grandchildren out for lunch. It was a nice meal. My hd and I were trying to remember the last time we had gone out to eat or even picked something quick up at a fast food place. It has been many months, so we really enjoyed it.

My hd is going to help his brother with a shed he is building. I might have a few hours to myself so I can get some cleaning done around here. Not that I couldn't do it when he is here it just makes me more productive when he is not. emoticon

It looks like we could be having a lot of rain. They are not really calling for much but it is still dark out there. I may not get my alone time. LOL

Enjoy your day. I hope things, sleep wise are a little better. Keep your chin up.

I hope your bacon was still there Ellie, these 'growing' boys! emoticon

Fellow phoned and can't come this morning, he worked outside all yesterday on a tractor and came down with a virus. He said he hopes he'll be better tomorrow so he can come then. At least he let us know he couldn't make it today so we're pleased about that. Rolly went to bed now and is there for the day, lol.

Yes, strange wind and odd day! Hope you'll be enjoying your quilting class and be home before any rain starts. See you!

Gloria that wind out there is strange. It is very strong one minute and stopped the next. They are calling for quite a bit of rain, we might as well get it over today and maybe sunshine for tomorrow.

I need to get my things ready for quilting. I have a lunch started but forgot to tell my son not to eat my bacon. I have not checked to see if it is still there. I might have to think of something else.

Enjoy your day.

Hi Ellie, our day wasn't bad. Rolly got up around 3 and did his own running around. I had a nice quiet day with a better frame of mind. I have to really help myself feel good. And I agree Ellie, it isn't good to keep things pent up in our mind, our hubbies sometimes need to know exactly how we feel and how their actions affect us! Did me a lot of good and Rolly too, I think.

We had my sister and her husband here tonight till about 9:30 and boy, has it ever cooled down outside! I've shut our windows, all except my bedroom one. I hope the rain holds off tomorrow, the fellow is to come at 10 in morning and we have a lot that needs doing. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Our money for the water/electricity is taken right out of our bank account so it isn't a problem for us. If not city hall, then where does a person pay it in person Ellie?

Enjoy your quilting tomorrow. And I'm not sure but I think Shirley has left to go to her cottage now.
Goodnight!

Hello:
I came in and started typing before but then my hd wanted to go out. LOL

Gloria I hope the fellow can come and do all the outside work you want done for a reasonable price. It will be nice to know you have someone.

This crazy change in the water/electricity bill was not to cause any problems and now my son is having problems paying the city part. What a pain. He pays his online and they do not have the new city one listed yet so he has to take a cheque down. They told him to take it to city hall but that is not where you pay it.

I hope you and Rolly had a good day Gloria. It sounds like you told him how you feel and they need to hear that sometimes.

I keep finding a few things I would like to buy. A new chair for the front porch etc. My hd says that Mother's Day has passed. LOL I guess I will be waiting until next year.

I need to go and get my things ready for quilting tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your night.

Shirley, I don't know if I have my days/dates right . . . is it today that you are opening up the cottage? I was sure you said Wednesday but not sure WHICH Wednesday. Bet that cheesecake turned out great. See, I'm not going to let go of that, I want some!
emoticon emoticon emoticon

Doesn't look great outside, was very cool when I took my dog out this morning. But I think this is the normal weather for this time of year.

The fellow who did our snow clearing got in touch with Rolly and said he'd come tomorrow morning to begin any outdoor work Rolly needs doing! I was so happy to hear that! Maybe he'll come all summer, we'd get it all done then. He was good and hopefully he'll be as reasonable with summer work as he was clearing the snow.

Slept in again, this is getting to be a habit! Have a nice day ladies.

Hi girls, sorry I'm so late today. I slept in and then have been busy ever since.

Yesterday, I think it was *I* who was the grumpiest, because of Rolly. I actually blew my stack and then felt so depressed and didn't get out of my night clothes all day, didn't shower and wash my hair, didn't go out with my sister and my daughter Melissa last night, I didn't want to talk or see anyone!! That was one bad day! Thank our good Lord that I don't get a lot of those really bad ones!

Today, different story. I got up late and Rolly was in bed. I had made up my mind to do as best as I can and to quit worrying/thinking so much. I dressed, tended my dog, cleaned my bird's cage, had a good breakfast, made my bed, then the bath nurse came. I had gotten Rolly awake just before she came and he was in a good mood and after his bath, the 3 of us sat and talked for an hour. When she left, we got ready and out we went! To bank, Feed & Seed store, Home Hardware, Zehrs and Walmarts and we accomplished more today than we have in the past 3 weeks or so!! Rolly knew that I was going downhill the past week and he more than tried to make up for it. He bought me two wind chimes that I have wanted for a long time. A beautiful one with a big bird on it, for front porch and one with dolphins for back patio. We bought my sister's husband his usual box of Russel Stover chocolates for his upcoming birthday, we laughed a lot. Felt so good and I'm content now! It seems I can take a lot but when I reach a breaking/boiling point, watch out!
emoticon emoticon
Did a world of good for me to blow my stack yesterday.

Shirley, that cheesecake has got my name on it, you've got to send it to me, LOL. I'm so glad the dates were wrong so that you can go to your cottage when you had planned. Your kids are really good and I, too, should have had more faith in them!!

It sure did turn out nice yesterday Ellie and even nicer today. I'm glad you've been getting to the gym okay and shopping. How's the front lawn looking now? We've had enough rain to help the seeds take hold and more rain on the way, I think tomorrow.

I came on here to rest my feet, I did a lot of walking in the stores, wow. Rolly came into Walmarts and rode their thingamajig, don't know what you call it but he just had to sit on it and steer. He can get around great with that! But now I have to think of supper. Probably burgers and maybe one of the 6 date squares that I picked up at a bakery today. Oh, did I forget to mention I bought them?

Good afternoon:
Shirley I hope you are having a good day at work. I am sure your cheesecake will be wonderful.

Gloria I hope all is well with you and Rolly.

I was able to get to the gym again this morning and then told my hd I would stop at Mary Maxims for their seniors day discount. It starts at 50 years old. I did buy a few nice things.

I am off to get some sewing done, with the window open today. LOL It has turned out to be very nice.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

I have another work day, so I guess I am first here. I will be making the gluten free cheesecake tonight for Sam, so will try to check in again while it's baking.

Have a great day ladies!

Hi Gloria and Ellie. I had a very busy day today. Didn't get done a quarter of the work I was given. I'm glad that I get to go back tomorrow and continue. emoticon

Gloria, I goofed the dates my daughter gave me. She is going to the cottage on July 10th not June 10th and just wanted to give me lots of warning so hubby and I would be sure to be free. Boy it helps if you communicate! lol Funny how things always seem to work out with the kids - I should have had more faith!

Ellie, it's good that you went to the gym. Work was very stressful so I will go to aquafit tonight while hubby deposits my paycheque and picks up a few groceries. I had a beef stew cooking in the slow cooker because it was cold yesterday. I love Costco. Now that my freezer is defrosted I can start to restock!

We got a very good quote to repair the brickwork. I am very happy that it will be done!

Gloria, hope that Rolly gets some sleep tonight - or at least decides to be less grumpy.

Hello Gloria & Shirley:
I hope you are having a good day at work Shirley. It turned cool overnight and must be hard to decide what to wear.

I went to the gym this morning and it did get warmer even after I returned.
We took my MIL to Costco today and I bought quite a bit. I didn't realize how much I was out of.

We had some excitment around here yesterday. The dog next door got out and they had no. The poor little thing. They did find it but I have not seen it out since.

The fellow across the street fell off the ladder while cleaning his gutters. The fellow next door to him took him to the hospital. All seemed well with him last night but I am sure he is very sore today. He was very lucky he didn't break any bones.

Gloria I hope your day has improved. Did Rolly become happier through the day?

I must go and get all that I have not done, done. Talk later.

I'm back again, already! emoticon Pity party is over.

Shirley, I'm sorry the restaurant changed so much, many do go for smaller meals and higher prices now. Chalk it up to experience and now you know not to go back there. Sorry it turned out to be a bummer for you and John.

Aww, that's a shame how your cottage plans took such a turn. I would have been upset too and probably would have suggested my daughter make plans for another time to bring her friends to the cottage. Mom and Dad should come first sometimes and you both will enjoy your time there so much. But you and John are such good folks and put your children first. I'm glad you were able to work the situation out to please everyone.

How did John Jr's date go? Did they sit and talk? Order in food? what? what? emoticon
I'm excited to hear how it went!

I better go now. I think Rolly finally went to sleep so I'll have my shower and wash my hair soon. Hard to get at the normal things anymore. Sure turned cold here and I put on the furnace to take the chill out of the house. Unbelievable weather!

Hi Ellie and Gloria. Ellie, it's so nice that you were able to get your course on sale! You will have a lot of fun with it. It sounds like your lawn will be really nice. I need to do some cutting on ours, but the weather won't make up its mind!

Last night we tried to go to the bbq at our old church, but missed as it was at lunch not dinner. Since we had not thawed anything, I asked my hubby if he wanted to go to a small gourmet restaurant that we had been to over 27 years ago. He always says he wants to go back. Needless to say there have been new owners for the past 11 years. It was still very gourmet and organic so the portions were very small and hideously expensive. It was a silly extravagance, but at least hubby will never talk about going back again. lol I don't think you can ever go back for anything.

Our cottage plans got put on hold again! My dd wants to go up with her friends the week after next. We are going to open it on Wed, then go to Sudbury to help the kids move. Then she wants to go to the cottage with her friends the following week. I was upset - apparently my normal state of affairs. Grrr. However, my darling hubby came up with a good plan. He will just stay in Sudbury for 2 weeks. That will eliminate an extra expensive drive to and from Sudbury. I'll come stay in Sudbury until Sunday to help them move, then come home for work. On Friday, I'll go up to the cottage and hubby can take the train from Sudbury to Huntsville. It should be a pretty trip, and I'll pick him up there and we can spend a bit of time at the cottage. Then it will be to the cottage until the long weekend when we need to care for John Jr again. We may try to take him and a couple of friends to the cottage for Canada Day.

You'll never believe it!!! John Jr. asked a girl on a date while his sister was at work yesterday! I am so excited, this is the greatest sign of progress yet! I can hardly wait to find out how it went. lol

Gloria, I am glad that you got to go out for your dinner. It sounds like life with Rolly can be frustrating. Just hang in there and remember why you married him.

I'm going to go through some recipe books and plan some meals. Tonight we are having sea scallops, fingerling potatoes, and fiddleheads. I just need to figure out what recipes to use and plan for Mon & Tues after work.

Hi Ellie & Shirley!

Did you get your dishes done Ellie, lol. We're like kids, we like our 'play' time and to heck with work, lol.

I'm glad you got the solution to the lawn situation and you'll probably have a lushious one this summer.

I've got a strong mind and don't like to be told anything, lol. I'll really bulk if someone tries to tell me what I should or should not do and 9 times out of 10 I'll do the exact opposite of what they tell me . . . just to be ornery!
emoticon

Yesterday morning was horrific at our house, Rolly was up still when I got up and from 6 a.m till 10 a.m he just told me over and over and over how he couldn't sleep and I finally 'kind of' blew my stack! I can't make him sleep, doctors can't make him sleep, he doesn't need to spend a few hours telling me over & over! See how frustrated the problem can make me? He finally went back to bed at 10, got up at 3 and we went to Port Dover with my sister and her husband for the rest of the afternoon and supper, got home about 9 last night. But . . . Rolly was just fine all that time at the lake, gabbed, joked, talked, made me wonder why he acts/talks as he does with me in the mornings! I KNOW he has health issues and know he can't sleep but oh boy, it's difficult for me to go through this daily, I sort of get 'side effects' from it! But enough, I'll try not to grumble about this anymore.
emoticon emoticon

Loads of people at Dover and the water was churned up from Friday night storm and was so brown and muddy looking for a long way out. I took lots of pics anyway. We all enjoyed our time there and our time together. And Les told me that he'll probably be able to drive me and my daughter Sue to Jurvanski hospital when she has her surgery and my sister said she wants to go, to sit with me while Sue is operated on. So I think we're going to be okay in that respect.

Gotta go, wow did I sleep in and I'm still tired! Hope you girls have a nice Sunday.

Hello Gloria & Shirley:
I am doing laundry and my hd has laid down for a nap but my house is such a mess I should do something about it but all I want to do is play. (computer/sewing). I better get busy and at least get my dishes done. LOL

The fellow came yesterday instead of today and dug and seeded the front yard and got my hd to go out to Walter's for some lime. He thinks this might help our problem with it. He put that on for him when my hd returned. That busy place only had one till open. It took forever for him to return with it.

Gloria the storm it just before my hd finished raking the seed in. He got the most done and then that seed sure got wet. You could just see it come in and I told my hd to get in the house, he didn't listen at first. He does not what to look for so it didn't take long after before he came in.

You girls are right, when my hd says should you be eating that all I do is look at him and say no. It only makes me want it more. I have been doing really well though for about 8 weeks. A pound or so a week so I am very happy and no real cravings for anything. I did give in the other day though because the only thing I really miss is french fries from McDonalds. I had a small fry last Thursday. The good news is I had nothing else with it and usually it would have been a quarter pounder with large fries. I thought about large fries and thought why. The few I had I really enjoyed and was very happy after that.

I go to this online site called craftsy.com which has all kinds of craft courses, some are free and some you pay for. I have been eyeing this course on making jeans. You make a pattern from your favourite fitting jeans without cutting them up. I was talking to my hd about it. I told him I was going to buy it when it came back on sale, that turned out to be this weekend. It was 19.99 US instead of 5l.99 so I was very happy. It will take me a while to go through the whole thing just to see what you need etc., then I will go through step by step to make a pair. We will see how well I do. LOL It is called Jean-ius! Reverse Engineer Your Favorite Fit if you wanted to see what it is all about.

I hope you do well with the dietician Shirley. I used one from the hospital many many years ago but I have changed my eating so much since then. It really got me started on different things though.

Gloria I am glad you had a good gab with your sister. The best part of quilt group is talking with everyone. We really need that.

Enjoy the rest of the day. I don't know how it can be 4 oclock already. We didn't even go out today and I feel like the day passed me by. Talk later.

Shirley, it sounds like you're going to have to really tweak some of the advice the dietitian gave you. It will still work! I surely do know well how I don't like it either when someone tries to tell me how to eat, meaning Rolly, etc. So I don't really say things to him but try to encourage him to eat better. It is all up to the individual themselves though . If not, I'd wish that someone would take over my shopping and meals so I'd eat only healthy foods!
emoticon
You are going to enjoy your time at the cottage so much!

That was a dandy storm we had last night and no side effects of it today. I just sat out in the back yard, phoned my sister and had a one-sided conversation with her! LOL I talk and she listens, lol. She talks to but I can only understand the odd work here and there. Relieves me when I can talk to her though.

Bad morning here with Rolly still not asleep. It's after 10 and he's gone back to bed to try again. Our outing in Port Dover this afternoon looks dimmer and dimmer. I had so looked forward to the peaceful time by the water too, but it can't be helped.
See you girls again soon!

If we could help our spouses with their weight problems I would be thin. I know that it breaks my hubby's heart to see me so big but there is nothing he can do except support me. If he says anything to me it doesn't go over well let me tell you. It's really up to Rolly. Provide good healthy meals and then the rest is up to him.

I'm already having trouble following the dietician. I was too full at breakfast to have a fruit, but maybe I can have an extra fruit with lunch. I'll try to get it in during the day.

I need to focus on the house today. Hubby wants me to cut the grass but it's wet today. If I can get the house done today, I can do the grass when it's drier.

Shirley, I hope it works out well with the dietitian and as you said, you certainly are way ahead of the game, doing much better than those who are just starting out with dietitian. You have the knowledge and you keep track, I'll sure be thinking of you. Taking off weight sure ain't easy!! It can be done though, so stick with your plan.

Yesterday at heart doctor didn't go well for Rolly either. Doc changed his meds and was not pleased that Rolly had packed on 19 lbs since he last saw him in December. It's easy for Rolly to do as he spent most of his winter in bed, hardly moved around in the house even. So now he has to try to get those pounds off and needs my help and goodness sakes, I can't even tend to my own weight problem!
emoticon

Also, my daughter Sue had one breast taken off 2 years ago and had chemo. She is soon to have the other one taken off and many surgeries to follow, all done at cancer hospital in Hamilton. She asked me last night if I'd be with her for each surgery so of course I said yes. I think she's getting nervous. Problem? I've been scouting around for family to drive us there, pick me up after she's had the surgery then pick her up when hospital releases her. She does not have the first surgery date yet and everyone has their own commitments so it's creating a problem. My son's wife HAS to mind her grandson 2 mornings a week as her DIL can't get someone to do that those odd days. And my BIL is waiting to have his own surgery so we don't know if he'd be able to do this. Of course Rolly cannot drive out of town so that's out of the question. Cancer society can give her rides but that leaves me out . . . and they wouldn't be able to come back just to pick me up & bring me home! Kind of a real problem but I'll think of something yet. Gave me a headache last night, lol.

I'm glad you're going to the cottage next week Shirley, it's a great place for you to relax! Kids will be fine once they get moved.

See you girls later on.

Gloria, thanks for your kind comments on the kids. Sorry that you and Rolly had a rough day yesterday. I hope that today is better.

I had a good talk with the dietician yesterday. I will start implementing her suggestions today and go again in 2 weeks. Mostly increase my dairy, fruit, and veg. She would like me to cut down my protein, but we'll see. I don't want to be hungry or I'll just binge. Oh, and no snacking. From the food tracker I brought in she said I was basically ok, just need tweeking until we find the best mix for me to lose weight on. Many clients start off horrible, so I'm ahead of the game there. She wants me to see an exercise coach that OHIP will pay for (or the doctors, I'm not sure). I told her I would go in the fall as I need to spend time at the cottage this year.

We will be opening the cottage Wed, then to Sudbury Thurs to help the kids move, but after that I want to be at the cottage.

I am going to the 10 a.m. aquafit and John will come into town with me instead of making 2 trips.

WooHoo on having the tree planted Ellie and won't it be great to have the front lawn all done? Yes, wonderfully warm today but felt kind of muggy a while ago. Nice cool breeze coming through Rolly's back window in his bedroom.

Enjoy your quilting today Ellie!

Shirley, I went to your page to look at all your pictures and I must say that Sam certainly is a beautiful girl and it is awesome to see how far John Jr has come. He looks so happy in his pictures too!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the second fellow's estimate to be what you and John want! Will be good to have the work done.
And what a lovely day you and hubby had in the city! I don't know a thing about Jewish recipes so can't help out there but I'm sure there must be more modern books out with less fat recipes. Everyone seems to now be watching better what they eat. Let us know if you find a good one?

Yesterday turned out to be a bad day for Rolly and I won't elaborate. My sister came and sat with him while her husband took me to bank and places I needed to go to. He and I were just leaving Home Depot when that down pour came and wow, it was a dandy! I bought another big pot and bag of Mira Gro and will plant a pepper plant and leaf lettuce in that one then put it in an urn. that keeps it off he ground in case we get rabbits, etc. I think that will be it for this year's container gardening, our life is so up and down daily, it is taking up all my time. Life, that is!

Rolly and I sat out on the front porch last night for a while and saw two beautiful Canadian geese fly over, really close. They are a sight to see! I bought another plant to put in my second planter stand on porch but didn't realize the geraniums are a different shade of red than the first ones, drats. Oh well, what's done is done and they look nice.

Gotta go again, Rolly has appt with heart doc this afternoon and I hope he stays awake for that!
See you two tomorrow, we should be getting really warm weather from here on. Might put our A/C on today too Ellie!

Good morning ladies. I did a 1 mile WATP this morning. This afternoon I meet the dietician for the first time. I am hoping for some help with my weight loss efforts. Next Wed we will be opening up the cottage.

Yesterday we spent a lot of the day in the City. I had my bone density scan, then we shared a chopped liver sandwich for lunch. John lamented the lack of chopped liver in our life, but my Jewish cookbook is from my mom and was written in the 1950's when a lot more fat was used than today. I need a modernized Jewish cookbook. Sigh. Then we visited a retired friend in the City. Then Costco and then home. At home we had a second fellow come out to give us an estimate on the brickwork. Both John and I liked him better than the first company. Let's hope we like the estimate. lol

I posted some new pics on my Spark page and in my photo gallery. John Jr has really come a long way as you can see from the one of him on his bed. He doesn't even look handicapped.

Gloria, lovely that your sister came so that you and Rolly could get out for an enjoyable day. We all need that!

Ellie have fun at quilting group!

Good morning:
Just a quick hello before I leave for quilt group. What a great looking day. Really warm already. I am sure my hd will have the A/C on sometime today.

We finally got our tree planted in the front yard and a fellow is coming to do some work to the front yard and then seed it for us. Maybe Saturday.

Enjoy your day.

Good morning!
It is so very nice and warm out right now. I think it is to go up to almost 80 but looks like rain, off & on, is in our forecast still.

Good for you Shirley, work is done for the week now you can relax and do what you're wanting to do. A bone density test is good to have done, I used to get them regularly but now government says 'not as often!' Enjoy your day and hope John plans to take you out for a meal while you're in the city!

I bought some leaf lettuce yesterday and may get it planted today. It keeps me supplied with sandwich lettuce for a long time. I put a picture of my cherry tomato plant on my 'container gardening' blog Shirley but they all look alike, I guess, LOL.

My sister is intuitive and her and her husband came over yesterday to invite me and Rolly out for a coffee! We went to the Tim Horton's on the highway, way past Walmarts Ellie, nice and quiet out there. After a nice long sit in there and talking about everything and nothing (lol), the fellows let me and my sister off at Walmarts so we could go in and shop for a bit. I picked up Rolly's prescriptions, a few food things we ran out of and I saw some nice water proof spring coats on sale. They were $15 off and though I don't really need one, sigh, I liked the brown with beige trim ones so I picked one up! Oh yes, we also went to Elberta Farms and got more asparagus and Rolly bought some watermelon for my sis and her hubby! So it was a real turnabout day and enjoyable. I don't know how my sister does it but she always seems to know when I'm at the end of my rope and she comes to my "rescue"! She's a blessing to me!

We were so tired last night, I went to bed fairly early and other than one bathroom trip in the night, I slept soundly and slept in this morning, LOL. I feel great today! Many down days but it only takes one up one to turn things around, eh?

Better go, need to tend to my pets and have my breakfast. Be back here later on if I can.

Good morning ladies! I am finished working for the week - emoticon It is rainy today, but it doesn't matter as John and I are going into the City as my doctor ordered a bone density scan for me.

Good work finishing the quilt Ellie! I still have a project I haven't finished. Maybe I'll work on it on the weekend.

Gloria, it's nice that you were able to make Rolly happy by working with him. Both you ladies sound like you have wonderful plants. We plan on buying a cherry tomato plant, but that is all.

Ellie, I think this is a great day for snoozing! emoticon Sure is damp outside and inside!

I think I'm going to try something my daughter told me last night, she said to fill my big urn up with good soil and plant a variety of things, not a lot of each but a variety. Like leaf lettuce, green onions ( a few), maybe radishes, don't know which I want but the lettuce for sure!

Those things that hold gel to keep the bugs away sound awesome Ellie. I'll look into something like that for our back patio. I love to sit out there once it warms up outside and we get bugs, mosquitoes, etc.

Rolly woke up yesterday afternoon in a quiet mood and then smiled when he found I had done some weeding out back, did the laundry, did a few things out in the yard. I went out with him to help with the fish pond and that made him happy. I do realize how he feels since he can't do these things like he used to and he has to lash out at someone . . . since I'm the only one here, tag - I'm it! LOL

Gotta go, bath nurse and I will have tea now, coffee is out!

Good morning:
I just returned from the gym and it is damp and wet out there.

We are to get warm temps today but continue with the rain. I don't think I will be getting my tree in the ground today.

I really could have stayed in bed this morning. Nice and warm and cozy but I would not have gotten my exercise in so would have felt worse so off I went. emoticon

It will be a good day to get some sewing or cutting out done. I will see what my hd has planned and maybe this afternoon I will do some.

It would also be a good day for a good book and a cozy blanket. Hmmmmmm!

Shirley I am glad you had a wonderful meal. It is nice to have a variety of things.

Gloria we planted lettuce seeds in a very small spot outside but they would do well in a small pot also. Try it.

I bought a couple more herbs but that is all I am buying. Too expensive and I don't need them. One plant, our son bought me a pansy pot and so did my MIL. They wont last a long time but that is ok.

I saw these, they look like big shiny rocks but they are like stone wear. They have a small pot, hole where you put a can of gel. It burns and very clean. They say you can burn them in the house but I wouldn't. One of the gel's was to keep the bugs away. I was surprise at how cheap they were and I would like to buy one for our front porch. I didn't yet but I will debate about it. LOL They ranged from $25-45. The $45 one was very large. I was only looking at the $25 one.

We cannot stop them from doing what they want (men) Gloria so we just need to keep an eye on them. We/I don't always do as I am told either Hee Hee! I know if I was told I could not do something I would be thinking of a way to do it.

I just washed all of my little buttons. I had to strain them and then spread them out on a large towel I hope they are dry by bedtime. I may have to wrap them up and put them out again tomorrow on a dry towel.

Shirley, it is to be nice and warm & sunny here this week! IF that weatherman is right! lol Great that you liked the meal and it's okay . . . losing weight isn't an all or nothing thing, enjoy these meals.

No frost and my tomato plant looks great! I'm thinking of getting leaf lettuce seeds and putting soil in a big urn that used to have flowers in it, and then plant the seeds there. Nice to watch it grow and fresh lettuce for our sandwiches. Just an idea, Rolly thinks I'm nuts, lol.

Hooray on finishing that small quilt Ellie, pat on the back from me, lol. You have great reason to be proud!

I kept busy today, believe it or not. Got all the laundry caught up, spent time out back and weeded the circular flower bed, also got out some garden ornaments and put out some small tables for the chairs we sit in. Gave my bird cage another thorough washing cause he's been a 'dirty bird' lately.
emoticon

I haven't felt much like eating for a few days, had cereal for supper last night and just had some for supper again tonight. Won't hurt and there's a lot of goodness in cereal.

Since Rolly stayed out in the yard working on the pond till dark last night and had a fall while I had a nap in my recliner, I'm sitting out there with him when I get off computer. He came in angry last night, it took him forever to get himself up off the ground but as I say, I can't watch him 24 hours a day. I don't feel guilty about what happened but I feel like I need to keep an eye on him out there tonight. I'm glad it's so beautiful outside.

Hi Gloria & Shirley:
It has turned out to be a beautiful day. We have been all over the place this morning and I am not sure we have accomplished very much. We did get gas which is now half gone, LOL, and a geranium that I wanted but they didn't seem to have most of the things my hd wanted for the fence so he is rethinking it a bit and do something else.

Gloria it was cool this morning but didn't seem to get any frost. I was up very early and didn't see any. I hope it is ok. My hd left everything out last night. I hope it will be good from now on.

I just finished a small quilt. I sometimes get stuck on one thing when finishing them and I did it myself so I am patting myself on the back. Very happy with it.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Good morning ladies. Just a quick pop in before I go to work. It is sunny today and should be sunny tomorrow when I work. Then rain for the rest of the week! Grrr.

Ellie, we are very slow too. We started remodeling our bathroom two years ago, most of our floors are plywood. I have to take a lot of my kitchen stuff downstairs because I don't have cupboards and we'll never be able to afford them. Good thing I'm crazy about my hubby. If I try to keep the house nice and sparkly we do love it.. There is a lot of wood and books. It's a big house though.

Gloria, I hope your tomato plant is ok. We looked at some yesterday after church, but they didn't look healthy at all.

The parish supper was too good. So much food for $13, and I enjoyed it all. Back on track today.

Hi ladies!
Shirley, a strawberry/rhubarb pie would be so good! And having that small pie plate would be better, maybe, than making a big pie. Love the spring fruit that is baked into goodies, oh yum!

Uh oh Ellie, I re:potted my tomato plant and left it outdoors last night. I hope we didn't get a frost!
I have seen people waiting at the hospital ER and reading from what looked like a small computer Ellie, I could see they were reading a book! What a handy way to carry a book around and no turning the pages. I've thought about them too but figured I'd never be able to figure one out, lol. It's wonderful that your children bought you a Kobo reader!

Hope your hd gets the back step done soon so you won't have to worry about Parker flying down them. Having young ones come to the house can mean a concern about these things. Here, I'd worry about our open stairs to our basement!

Better get my day started. Hope you ladies have a wonderful Monday, it's a new beginning to me, each week!

Hi Gloria & Shirley:
It is turning out to be a nice day. They are talking about frost maybe again tonight though.
We have been out looking at a way to enclose our back step just enough so Parker cannot go flying out the backdoor and go off the edge down another small flight of stairs. The railing is metal piping which has been in there since before we bought the house. We had chain link fencing my FIL put on it but it looks terrible and we removed it after the children were in their teens. My hd finally came from another hardware store with what he was looking for so I hope it will be done before summer is over. We don't move very fast at things. Our son also has his saw.

Gloria you had a nice day yesterday and I am sure even Rolly will feel much better after doing something different and not thinking about whether or not he was going to sleep.

Shirley I enjoyed the challenge a lot and am looking forward to the summer one. This is the first time I have actually completed a challenge without giving up in some way so I am very proud of myself. I started off very poorly for several weeks and then really got into it. The little bit of weight loss also helps. emoticon

When will you be going to the cottage Shirley? It will be nice for you to relax and enjoy a very peaceful time. It would not work for you but my children purchased me a Kobo reader for Mother's Day. I can download a book from the library without even going there. It is wonderful. I do not have to purchase a book, the only downfall is you only have two weeks to read it instead of three. The book automatically returns itself after the 14 days. I didn't think I would like reading on it. I like the feel of flipping the pages of a real book but I do enjoy this just as much. The convenience is very nice also.

My hd doesn't usually want anything to do with garage sales so I was very happy we went to some yesterday. I wish he had of found some things. Now he will not want to go again. LOL

Enjoy the rest of your day. The sun is beautiful.

Good afternoon ladies. It is still chilly. Today is our Parish supper, so I want to go early with John. I am still fixing a report for a challenge team Ellie and I were on and it seems to be taking forever. Three wonderful ladies are taking over for me, so I told them I would set up the report for the summer for them.

My house is still not cleaned. I need to focus on getting this report done and then doing some cleaning.

I love garage sales, rummage sales, thrift shops...I guess I just love finding treasures. The last box John brought up from the basement was almost all treasures from his mom. I need to clean out my kitchen and put all the big things down stairs. I don't want to get rid of the large casseroles because I hope to still have a crowd at least for Christmas, but I certainly don't need them cluttering up the kitchen all year just to be used once. Oh, there was a lovely glass pieplate from John's grandma that is covered in a beautiful etched design, and it's just a wee pie plate, not a large deep one. I'll have to make him a strawberry/rhubarb pie when the berries come out.

Hi there ladies on this sunny but chilly day!

Ellie, I believe you are Lactose Intolerant like me? That makes eating/drinking a bit hard. And a lot of foods upset my stomach, that's a reason I thought I'd eat some gluten-free foods but you know, I'd find it difficult to follow that. I've read up on it and oh my! Kudos to you & your daughter and Shirley and hers for being able to do so! I'm glad Shirley gave me that info, it was very interesting.

I wish I was getting out to garage sales like that Ellie, I love browsing better than buying, lol. But you can sure get some good bargains at them.

My sister's daughter is going to be having one soon and has asked if I want to come and bring anything that I want to sell, I'm thinking about it. She lives on Blossom Avenue so it's nearly in the country. Not too far to go though, not really. I just dread lugging unsold things back home, that's why I said I'd 'think' about it.

Ha ha, rabbits are like people, the forbidden fruit is better than what's given them! I hope you can keep them out of what your hd is planting Ellie.

We were out from 4 till 8 last night with my sister and her husband and what a difference a night makes. Went to Wimpy's Diner for supper then a long drive in the country, ended up at Sobey's in West Brant to look at their flowers/plants and I bought a cherry tomato plant that is so healthy looking and has some blossoms on it. They were each in their individual pot but I'll put it in a bigger pot cause the roots are through the bottom of it. Then I'll put it in an urn and in the full sun in the yard. I should get cherry tomatoes till September, lovely. They were only $6.50 at Sobeys Ellie and last year I paid $18 for one at Nichols Florist!!!!

Rolly and I both felt so good after our time out with loved ones. We all shared so much gab and so many laughs, did us good! I hope to get out one afternoon this week with just my sister, maybe go to Lynden Mall to browse the stores. These outings do wonders for us all!

Better go, just wanted to say Hi to you girls and wish you each a happy Sunday.
emoticon

Hello ladies:
Shirley I do hear where you are coming from with the gluten free. The Dr. told my daughter to try it for her skin problems but never tested her for it at all. I have always had digestive issues but not extreme enough to say I have a reason to be tested but who knows. Our daughter does not know if it really is making a difference yet. I like the Paleo eating plan. It rarely uses dairy so the recipes work well for me and they do not do grains which I find has really helped with the digestive issues. I know maybe I am making a mistake but for now things are good and I like the feeling of not being bloated all the time.

Gloria our daughter eats the gluten free Rice Krispies and thinks they are better than the original. I think the same as you that they are hard and bland. I would need too much sugar to make them good. LOL

We went to some garage sales this morning. My hd does not usually get up early enough to go to them but there was one out past St. George on 99 highway that we say advertised and was a HUGE sale. We ended up driving past it. Maybe two tables with mostly baby things. What a disappointment. He had looked up a few more in the St. George area so we went to those. I only liked the one. I purchased a small pickling crock for $5 and a container 9" x 9" x 5" deep full of little shirt buttons. I paid a whole $1 for them. I love them. LOL It doesn't take much to make me happy. My hd brought in two jars from the garage and they a crown canning jars from 1935 & 1946 with the glass lids. I will fill them with the buttons and put them in my sewing room. I really need to get my sewing room more organized rather than putting more in it but it is fun.

Our rabbit family would not eat the lettuce I put out for them but want the lettuce my hd planted. We have been looking for something to block them from taking it all.

I am off to get a quilt finished. Talk to you later. It is cool out but getting nicer.

Shirley, thanks for putting on this info about gluten-free and the reasons some must go like this. I hadn't realized that! I hear so many going gluten-free and saying it is a healthier way to eat! How dumb it is to follow these folks! After this box of cereal is gone, that's it for me! I do feel bad about your daughter and her loss of kidney function, that would be such a concern and I'm glad that you and her find ways to cook gluten-free. Thanks again.

Yes, I find I do much better when I eat lots of fiber filled food and it's healthy, I'll stick to that! Fills me up and keeps me 'regular'.
emoticon

We've got a bright sun but chilly air. I like it right now cause it has gone up to the 50's. Just right!
Enjoy your day Shirley and good for you for sleeping in. Yep, it's different having a fellow around the house all the time, changes our schedules, LOL.

One thing that was stressed over and over when I was researching my gluten free presentation is the fact that if there is no medical reason for you to be gluten free then you shouldn't be gluten free. 8 out of 10 Americans do not get enough fiber, most of our fiber comes from whole grains. Most of our B vitamins come from whole wheat products.

Dr. Leffler, head of the celiac centre at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston also stressed that by making gluten free diets a fad you are really disrespecting the patients who are truly sick with celiac disease. These people are literally dying from the disease while a group of well people are basically going "isn't this fun". The reason that they can do a blood test for celiac disease is because the antibodies float through the body in the blood stream. This means that the antibodies can attach anywhere in the body and cause severe damage. My daughter has lost 70% of her kidney function in one kidney, and has severe liver damage which causes her to be constantly jaundiced and low in energy. Since she was undiagnosed for so long the scar damage in her intestines will never repair itself. She will be unable to absorb either iron or B vitamins and will need shots her entire life.

Since my daughter is one of many who suffer so terribly from the disease I do feel strongly about having gluten free options available, but that doesn't mean they are for everyone. We eat some gluten free so we don't contaminate things like toasters, etc but that is for our daughters safety not ours.

For weight loss, it is simply a matter of giving up excess starch. Since the late 1880's weight reduction diets have said to cut out breads, cakes, pies - not to replace one starch with another.

Sorry for going on, as I said because of my daughter I do feel strongly about the issue.

On a lighter note, John and I didn't get out of bed until 11 this morning. We seem to have a lot to catch up on. It's very strange going from living apart for so long to living together, but we're having fun adjusting. On the other hand, I usually do my housework in the morning, so I'm going to have to find energy to do it later in the day. It should be sunny tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get the house cleaned up today.

emoticon Hi ladies!

Did I mention that I bought some new rice krispies? They are gluten-free brown rice krispies and I thought they'd be so good for me. Well guess what? They are very bland to eat, ugh! But I'm not partial to rice krispies anyway so that may just be me. I usually eat good fiber cereals like All Bran or Raisin Bran and I also have some granola cereal. Oh well, I'll eat this box of krispies and learn from that, lol.

Sure is chilly out but a nice sun. Getting hungry for my breakfast, been on computer a while so will leave it now. Enjoy your day Ellie & Shirley, ignore the chill air!

Ohh, it is cold Shirley, especially after those dreadfully hot days! I couldn't get in a pool right now cause I wouldn't want to get out in the cold air, LOL.

Rolly woke up on his own around 3 this afternoon and said he had a great sleep. After he was up about an hour, he was able to take me where I needed to go. He'll stay up at least till 11 tonight and take a whole sleeping pill and we'll see how that goes. We're trying but I haven't the heart to try to MAKE him stay up and at 82, I don't want to wake him when he's in a sound sleep during the day. It's still a bad situation but we have hopes of it turning around one day!

Goodnight girls!

Hello Gloria and Ellie. I don't know where my days go. I went to the 10 a.m. aquafit this morning. I don't know if the pool actually was warmer or if it was just that the air was soooo cold, but it felt great to be in the pool. Until I froze after getting out. lol I have had hubby keep the fire going in the fireplace all day.

Gloria, I guess you'll just have to keep trying to wake Rolly up at different times during the day. It sounds awful, but we get used to it. Hubby has a delicate tummy and when he is sick, I still wake him during the day to take fluids. My middle son also had problems with his adrenal gland, so I had to keep him awake during the day for several years - boy was he grumpy! The doctor gave him some herbal tonic from Germany that helped his adrenal gland adjust after several years. The adrenal gland is what regulates the sleep cycle. I know it's hard, but as caregivers we just have to do the best we can. Sam is taking a short vacation in July so hubby and I will be going to Sudbury to look after John Jr.

Ellie, I think that this will be a great weekend for sewing. I am not even leaving the fireplace. lol

Hi Ellie, I kept in my one plant that I have and won't put it back out for a few days. We might even get a frost tonight or so it says on CHCH TV! Ah, I'm sorry your hd lost his pepper plants, it is really that cold out!

Rolly pretty well made out as I expected he would. The doctor wants ME to make sure Rolly stays up all day! Now how on earth can I do that when he's just going to bed at 5 or 6 in the morning?? He's too exhausted to stay right up! No solution whatever! But our doc did give him a prescription for the pills the hospital doc had given him. She only gave him enough that they lasted till last night, he was taking 1/2 a pill at bedtime but our doc upped it to 1 pill at bedtime. I don't think it worked any better last night!

I've heard from several on sparks about using the recipe for banana bread that is in the Spark Solution book, they tell me it's delicious. I've got it in my mind to bake a banana bread over the weekend when it's still cool out.

Also have heard several from several in Brantford that they've come down with bad colds! Is it any wonder, with this changeable weather? It is *sick* time weather.

Enjoy your weekend sewing Ellie, it's a great thing to be doing right now!

Hello:
Gloria it is freezing out. I had my winter coat back on and I was still cold. We have our furnace coming on also. One day the A/C and the next it is the furnace. My hd thinks he lost his pepper plants to the cold.

How did Rolly make out at the doctors yesterday?

Shirley I hope you are having a good day.

I hope to do some sewing over the weekend so the colder weather is not a problem for this weekend. I still don't like it though. LOL

I am going to try a new recipe from my Paleo group. I will let you know how it turns out, adding cheese to my hd though.

Enjoy your day.

Oh my, it certainly turned cold overnight! And windy! I had to put the furnace on again when I got up today. Seems we are in for an entire cold weekend!

Just doing a bit of sparking then going to have my breakfast, tend to pets, etc., another of those days!

Enjoy your Friday, girls!

Good morning Ellie & Shirley!

Wow, congratulations on the 10 lb loss Shirley. If you've lost that much on TOPS scale, you've lost it! Celebrate, that's awesome! I'm glad your presentation and cake went well. I know of some who swear by eating gluten-free and they feel better too.

Oh it was hot yesterday Ellie and not bad right yet today. It is now suppose to get up in high 60's today or so they are saying on TV! But rain is coming and it looks like it right now, windy too. My geranium in planter stand on front porch has been blown over by wind about 4 times since I got it for Mother's Day!! It's a wonder the stand hasn't broken or the plants! So far it looks okay, I brought it in last night and will keep it in today.

I dread dressing warmer again too, we had a taste of summer. But I do like the cooler weather best! That heat came at us too suddenly!

better go and hope our family doctor can come up with some better ideas of help for Rolly when he goes in for his follow up appt this afternoon!

Enjoy your day ladies, don't let the weather spoil it!!
