I had a good weekend too celebrating our grandson's fifth birthday with pizza and cake. I took carrots along to eat and had water to drink. I was so hungry for good filling food when I got home though,and I binged on Hawaiian bread, but on Sunday I had a really good day working outside in the sunshine. I followed my plan much better. So I am making slow progress, but I'm staying with it, not giving up. Today was a good day with my 11 year old granddaughter and tomorrow will be a good day as well. I have a plan and will follow it! Slow, but sure!

had a good weekend visiting my family. i did not eat like crazy. i did well today. i was not stuffed, but i was full so i stopped eating. i could hve gotten more but i purposely did not. i even told several aunts tha i was full/ starting to get better, but i still mindlessly eat around family. but i will learn to be better at eatin mindfully

Stopping by to say "Hi." If you want a new smile today, check out the new pics of GKs from the dressup weekend they had at camp last week. The twins dressed up as 'grumpy gramps' and nice 'grandma.' i have been struggling with 1 lb. i have gained and lost it 3 times. it is driving my nuts. it is an odd plateau, i apparently need to lose 2 lbs t get past it.

Just not getting it done. Am eating like there is no tomorrow. Binges are going on almost every day. My goal was to stay within calorie range 75% of the time over the next 30 days. Not doing well. I have got to do better. Maybe today will be an "on" day. I am doing therpay for my compulsice eating but so far we are not disussing my eating issue but reviewing my childhood to see if the emotional triggers can be identified. It's a start.

Even though I got up late, I went for a walk. Walked a little farther, but my back is hurting, and I think that perhaps I did too much. Plus, that's 4 days in a row I've exercised after being off for over 2 months. So I'll do some lighter exercises for the next few days.

I have been doing better about preparing meals and not mindlessly eating. i am getting small victories and they are adding up. i lost 3 lbs in july. 1 lb lost ang gained a couple times. but a net loss of 3 lbs for the month. i will have to get focused to drop more lbs.

That is so nice Knuckles that you foster. Since my daughters both have dogs, I have become attached to them and a month ago we took in a dachshund mix from someone who couldn't care for the sweet guy. I had an odd night with him last night. I guess he is getting used to the house noises.. and we are trying to figure his signs for when he wants to go out. This morning after getting on the scale and realizing I had gained 4 lbs since getting him a month ago we did a lot of speed walking. I know he wanted to sniff.. but this was good for both of us.

How nice that you have a foster dog. I couldn't foster animals because I would want to keep them all. 6 cats and a dog are enough for now. I do miss my other two cats but I think I am content to have the 6 for now.

trying to stay on track. had a bad day because I decided to eat Chinese buffet. Haven't done that in a long time and today was the day. I know of healthier options I can make for Chinese but I always go for the blasted buffet and then I pile up my take-out container. I got in over 2000 calories today. Now I feel terrible both mentally and physically. Oh well my challenge for the 30 days is not ruined yet. I still have enough days to get my goal of staying within calories for 75% of the time possilbe.

I did a triathlon this Sunday--the report is on my blog, but I'll just say that both the organizers and I were WAAY underprepared. Still, I finished it!

I feel like I'm still recovering, but I did walk 4 miles yesterday with my new doggy (picture ALSO on my blog). I am still here, and still exercising, but having real trouble with the food tracking. I'm just not feeling motivated toward it. I think it will help when we get back to having a menu and our eating is less scatter-shot than it has been since we got back from Hawaii--just too many things going on, and now we're going to a convention in Rhode Island, leaving on Thursday!

Life needs to settle down a little!

Good morning to my "new" teammates. I am hoping this will be the motivation I need to get back on track. Time to loose 10-12 lbs. Not alot, but I just can't seem to get motivated lately. I have got to. So am planning to join your weekly challenge when it goes up and see if I can get back on track. I lost 18 lbs. with SP a few years ago, slow and sure, the right way and kept it off for several years. Now it's been "sneaking" back on and I need to get it back off!

Sorry I've been MIA for some time. I have been huddling but I haven't "chatted." My mom got sick in May and then died in June so I have been busy dealing with her affairs and siblings. It is hard for me without my mom. I miss her terribly. I did let myself go during all this and only recently got myself back on track. I am not seeing any resutls on the scale but I am feeling better, both mentally and physically. I was binging terribly and for now that has stopped. The door suddenly closed to binging last week and I have been sticking to my daily meal plans. I suppose everything in good time.

Hi Team,
Sorry I've been missing this week. I had 3 full days of professional development workshops on strategies for teaching algebra. It was very informative but I left my house at 7 am and didn't get home until 4 pm at which point I started reviewing my notes and visiting websites. I was on information overload! Since I was sitting all day I had to also get in my 10,000 steps. Today is Day 38. Hey, I've lost 12kgs!!! I feel so good about that!! Ok it took me just over a year but I got there!!! The last 2 kinda just lost themselves so that is way cool. Summer's around da corner and I cant wait to go to da beach in that sexy bikini. All the sacrifices etc was worth it!!!
Time to treat myself to some designer demins me thinks!!

Good morning all...going to be another cool day here in Upstate NY! Thank goodness, I am all for warm weather, it's just these are not the type of summers I grew up with! I can't stand high humidity and heat at the same time while throwing rain into the mix!! Seems that is over for a bit though.

Good morning! The rain has gone for the time being and the real heat and humidity are back. No exercise outside for me.

Good Thursday,

Cool & cloudy today in NJ but I don't mind after the extended heatwave. I love being able to open the windows! My husband is doing well 3 weeks after his knee replacement surgery. Thirty days ago, I got my Fit Bit and began my 10,000 steps a day streak. I have managed to get my steps in despite back & hip pain. Everything I've read said that you should try to keep moving with back pain and I am determine to keep my streak going! The muscle relaxants help when the pain gets too severe & I have an appointment to see the orthopedist on Aug. 6th. I have three-day algebra workshop next week so I couldn't get in to see him next week.

3 weeks ago i lost 3 lbs
2 weeks gaind 1 lb
this week lost 1 lb again


so far i am -3 for july. i am slowly going in the right direction i just have to keep going.

Not doing well with 10,000 steps a day. It was much easier getting them in while I was teaching. Glad I don't have a desk job! Starting back half days for summer school, so that should help!

Turned my little bit of leftover low sodium marinara sauce into my own version of minestrone tonight. I made it even more low sodium with on hand ingredients... including half a potato. With the other half I tried the microwave potato chips recipe from here. I WILL make them again and try to figure why they stuck so firmly to the plate.
