Does anyone know if the muscle shakes really help to strengthen your muscles? I am just not as strong and lasting as I was when young.I do exercise with machines at the Y and try to walk a lot. emoticon

I also find that I eat more of foods that appear to be empty calories and not so filling, but I am getting better, since I started using Body By Vi protein shakes. I take 2, one for breakfast and one for lunch. In between these 2 meals I eat healthy snacks, like hard cooked egg, I just love the Fiber One protein bars, granola bars and brownies. The bars are 140 calories and the brownie is 90 calories. I have found the shakes to be surprisingly filing, and if I choose protein or higher fiber snacks, I do tend to stay full longer. I hope this helps.I will be interested in hearing more of he other suggestions to this question.

I eat 5 small meals a day, I don't think about it that way, 3 meals and 2 snacks. I am not sure what you are asking...
if you eat rice a part of one meal, you can't have rice with another meal that day. I often will add brown rice to a salad and then again to a chicken dinner to make it a complete protein.
I often have a difficult time reaching my intake also, but will make up the difference with popcorn at the end of the day (counted as a snack).
I will add cheese for calories if necessary.
I avoid all none whole grains, they usually has a few more calories with less sugars.
Also, when I am trying to add more veggies to a meal, I will opt for less starchy and add a grain or a bean to extend the calories.

It takes planning and working with the calorie counter to figure out what works with total calories.
I try to take most of my calories as a the main part of meals (snacks) and when I fall short I add extras, l like cheese, olive oil, etc.
Good luck.

Hi everyone I know that this may sound odd but my biggest problem is I don't eat enough. I just cant stomach the amount of food we are supposed to eat. I know I should probably be thin but my body keeps going into starvation mode. It has taken me 18 months to loose 38 kilos and I am finally under the 100 mark woo hoo but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if they have any advice on how to combat it.
