I rarely get enough snow to have to shovel!
But scraping the car from ice, frost and snow - that happens here off and on through the winter.
No, I don't mind scraping my car, at all - quiet time, me time, warms me up (apart from my fingers), doesn't take too long (just discovered that DH's car takes more than twice as long as my own wee car).
Actually, I'd go as far as to say I nearly enjoy scraping my (own) car.

Yes! The first time. I feel empowered. I love hearing the kids giggle in the driveway, and I love that all the neighbors come out and chat and help each other. And sometimes the 2nd storm isn't so bad either. The neighbors are baking things for each other, a bottle of wine for helping. But by about the 3rd and 4th time it starts to get a little tedious. Where do you put it all when there is already a giganto pile turning brown on the side of the road? I have to parallel park between 2 snow piles? We haven't had a winter like that though in a few (last time I "shoveled" with a broom :-)

I do like shoveling but my knees are no longer too crazy about it now that I am older. We have done a lot of it lately in Wisconsin...9" here yesterday with lots of wind so we had drifts to deal with. That makes it a little less fun when you look at a huge drift and then a couple of feet of snow at the end of your driveway after the plow goes through. But you have to do it..may as well enjoy it as much as you can. It's a good calorie burner for sure.

Most of the time I LOVE to shovel snow. Here in Colorado, especially in the winter (vs spring) the snow isn't too wet and heavy. As mentioned by a couple other people, there's a sense of accomplishment in seeing the drive and walkway clear out, and in knowing that when I pull into the driveway I won't be stuck. Our street is on a hill, and our driveway goes uphill from the street. Knowing the drive is clear means I won't slide into the mailbox or be stuck if the garage door doesn't open fast enough. I even like to shovel in the dark, in the early morning especially. There's a serenity about being out there by myself - just me and the streetlight giving me enough glow to do the job. I am 66 and my husband is 78. Since I am still working full time he has pretty much taken over that chore, and our area is always done before anyone else's in the neighborhood. He loves it too. Didn't mean to ramble - it's a favorite topic.

No. That's why we go to TX. in the winter. We've done that too many years in the past.

Had recent experience with shoveling snow--just yesterday where I live in Iowa got 5+ inches of the stuff. And now we have strong wind that's blowing the snow back to wear we'd shoveled it from!

I don't mind it so much living in Iowa, but one year when I lived in Michigan it snow nearly every day, and I'd go home during my lunch break and shovel and then go home after work and shovel some more. It got to the point where the snow was so deep I couldn't lift it higher.

I don't know if I've ever shoveled snow. I grew up in central California so the closest we ever got to snow (other than the trips to the Mountains with my family) was a little frozen dew once. emoticon I probably did shovel snow once or twice as a single Mom living in an apartment, but nothing major. I know my hubby is not too fond of this chore. He is ready to buy a snow blower!

I do enjoy it when I can get my head past the "it's a chore" junk.

It gets me out in the snow, which I love, and moving, which is good for me.

She is measured by the way her body curves or doesn't curve, by where she is flat or straight or round.

I don't know that I ever shoveled snow... was too young when we moved from the real north, and as for the snow we get here, never enough to matter much.

But I would think it would be a rather daunting task.

I live in Africa most of the time so do not need to even think about SNOW but where I live in the States there is plenty of it. Because of my leg injury last year I do not think it wise for me to risk falling on icy snow. I guess my snow shoveling is over. I don't particularly like being out in the cold but I know that some people like it.

Do you LIKE to Shovel SNOW?
