Jenae-Spectacular job on the weight loss! Keep up the good work! I had truly hoped to reach a similar number, but it's been two years without the scale moving so much as a pound no matter what I seemed to try. Pretty discouraging! But I think I'm on the right track now. I'm eating a low carb (diabetic like) diet and sleeping a lot more. According to today's weigh in, I've actually lost another 2 pounds since I posted this! (Which was about a week ago.) So I am super excited right now! Here's hoping we can both keep up the pace! Good luck! :-)

Hello fellow Slowest Losers! Back in September I posted about my new (working) weight loss strategy of sleeping more. Well, I "fell off the wagon" and went back to my normal 4-6 hours a night. (Just too busy! And hubby is a bad influence in this area. He loves to stay up late.) Then I broke my foot and spent 6 weeks not exercising so I gained back about 3 lbs. Went back to my Zumba classes for 1 week, ("probably" over did it....ok I did) and ended up with the flu AND strep at the same time. sigh. Since I was sooo sick, hubby had to stay home with the kids, and I slept for days. I lost three pounds while I was sick that week! (not the best way to lose weight, but I'll take it! haha) Then, I started reading about being insulin resistant (kind of the pre-pre-precursor to diabetes. I had 7 of the 9 symptoms, and the other two were "unknown" because they are tests that the doctor would have to run. So I decided to start taking steps to get off that path. I started eating a LOT less sugar/carbs. And I've been tracking my food here on sparkpeople again. It's been 6 days, and I've lost another 3 lbs! (That's without exercise -still kind of sick-and eating about 1500 calories.)
And today, one of the best Christmas Presents EVER, showed up on my sparkpeople page. It says I have lost TEN whole pounds this year! Losing 10 lbs was my New Years Resolution for this year. And hitting that goal feels AMAZING! I have struggled so much in the last couple of years to get my weight loss progress to even move a little bit, and it can get pretty discouraging to get no where. But then I saw that beautiful double digit number!
I think I may finally be on the right track! :-)
