Learned to drive a standard transmission car. Actually it was a 1939 truck that had holes in the floor of the cab, no gas gauge or speedometer and no key. I had to 'hot wire' it to start. I shared the truck with my Brother in Law and learned to never trust him when he would tell me there was plenty of gas in the tank. Of course, I ran out of gas at 2:00 am on my way home from work. I was young and It was a long walk home. Didn't speak to him for days. After that I would always fill it up first and then drive. Lesson learned.

I have never been able to get the hang of a manual transmission (despite my best efforts). Unfortunate things tend to happen. Although, I would prefer riding horseback, but seeing as that is not adequate in today's society, I will stick to my automatic.

only automatic! First husband said he would not share a stick shift vehicle with me. I am a bit of a nervous driver.

In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian
