No - never. Well actually Fri/Sat I do take advantage of special deals at the grocery store .... got several dozen eggs and some orange juice and bread for free yesterday.
Some years I have gone shopping on Wednesday night when there are almost no people and have gotten some good deals

I DID go shopping on Black Friday this year (and bought nothing, lol)! It's a long story as to how that happened, i.e. me being at the mall on Black Friday (totally & completely NOT a normal event for me) but it was all good - hey, at least I don't have to wonder if it was as bad as people say it is - I was THERE, so I KNOW how bad it was!

Follow up to earlier post:
As planned, I started shopping at suppertime. Stores were empty except for plenty of help. No problem with parking or crowds. It couldn't have been easier.
Meanwhile, I had time for my workout before leaving home, and while at one store had time to talk to the check-out clerk and ended up telling her about SparkPeople - she even wrote down the name.

No, here our big sales are on Boxing Day - and I don't go to those either! Too many people!

Never have, never will!
In our house we follow the Cuban tradition of just celebrating Christ's birth on Christmas. (my husband is from Cuba) The Wise Men brought the gifts on King's Day, January 6th. I could always buy at the after Christmas sales!
It was a little hard for my daughter when she was little. She never 'believed' in Santa, but had to be careful what she said around her friends. We wanted to be sensitive to others beliefs. My mom loved 'Santa' so my daughter always got something she could talk about with her friends.
Anyway, the only gifts we give these days are the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, which are already on their way.
We do swap 'White Elephant' gifts at our Monday night Bible study, which is always a lot of fun!!!

I wouldn't even think of shopping on Black Friday. I'm not that desperate.

No. I don't like the thought of people having to work on one of the very few holidays there are now and that it has seeped into Thanksgiving itself. I did some online cyber Monday shopping last year and I will probably do that again this year.

Not yet. It's only 9:30 a.m. here. I got up early, had a healthy breakfast, let it settle while I did crosswords (mental exercise), and did a tough new workout I started yesterday. I am determined to stay with my program and not gain weight during the holidays.! I might go shopping later, after the first crowds get tired and (hopefully) go home. My only real push is for family who are out of town, and they prefer gift cards - easier to mail and they like to pick out their own gifts later.

Online only for a camera, since mine got dropped a couple of months ago. Too old and can't walk well enough to wait in line and get crushed. Come to think of it never went when I was younger either. Too many tragic "accidents".

Nope...have to work..but even if I didn't have to work I have no desire to deal with Black Friday..I would sooner pay full price for something than deal with the hassles..I feel so sorry for the people that have to work at the stores..

NO! never. With my huge family shopping is done all through the year and wrapped as I go. I avoid "pressure to buy" situations.

Yes, I did. I only was after a few items and was able to get them. The stores were not bad at 4:00 am. My philosophy is if they have it great,. if not oh well.

In Canada the day to shop is Boxing Day and there are horror stories to prove it. I think I once got a stereo for a very good price but it is vague now.

It's barely 9 am. I have no plans to go shopping today, though.
PS: In my state, stores are not allowed to open on Thanksgiving due to some archaic "blue laws." I think they opened early this morning, not that I care.

Nope, I can hardly walk anyway so did not want to get trampled. I don't need anything anyway. I do like to shop though.
P.S. For those who are not American or who do not know what Black Friday is. It is a the day after American Thanksgiving Day, the day to when the stores give lots of good "deals" for those wanting to shop for Christmas. This year many stores opened late on Thanksgiving Day.
