Gaby, thanks for posting about the Google and your spark name. I went on to check myself in Google and there I was and someone else on Spark People has the same username only they have capital C and L. Hmmmm. I would think that would not be allowed. I think I will go private too. Marie

I TOTALLY understand.. When I blog I don't usually post any information about my family or friends (not by their given names at least)..or where my exact location is, birth date etc... You can't be too careful these days...lots of weirdo's out there.
ROFL.it took me FOREVER to sign up with face book. My 'rambling' friend wanted me to join so I could keep in touch with them but I didn't feel comfortable having my ENTIRE name, both first & last, on Facebook......so along came Ivana Slurpee. Everyone knows me by either Ivana, Ivana Slurpee, Aunty Ivana, The Slurp...LMAO!
Same with my website...I don't post any 'personal' information on there and don't 'ramble' about anyone else unless I have their approval first...

THANK you...I have made you a friend...sorry about that...I am private because about a year or so ago someone told me to google my sparkname...I did and up popped all my information that was applicable on GOOGLE...they had made their sparkpage private for that very reason. I did it immediately and have told as many as possible about it. I don't want all my info out there! I always immediately add anyone that sends me a message or tries to conact me...I know it's a pain but I just think the internet is getting scarier everyday!
Hugs and thank you I will certainly pass it on and again, thank you! Blessings! Gaye
GABY1948 Hi :) I wanted to say thank you for the spark goodie via your page but it is set to private. It was a wonderful thought and a nice surprise this morning to wake up and see a beautiful gold star.....
I also got your message and your welcome to pass the info along to ALL of your spark friends... I thought it was a brilliant idea myself so that's why I passed it along here, on The Slowest Loser, after reading the initial post about it via another team. I wanted to make sure no one thought it was my idea (the paper clips or marbles) so that's why I copied and pasted the original post that I had read...before posting my own thoughts and idea on what I was going to do for my own 'visual' motivator..
As well as put the virtual 'patches' on my quilt, I'm also going to purchase the exact same one's (they are only about $2 each) so that one of these days, perhaps I can make a REAL quilt or something similar to celebrate all of the different milestones I reach including both U.S States I have virtually traveled to AND other goals that I have accomplished.

In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian

Hi everyone, I was browsing through threads on another team yesterday and came across a conversation from a spark gal called NESSA79..here is a copy of that message.
******************************** In a group that I am in on Facebook a friend of mine posted this & I wanted to share because it seems like SUCH a great idea!!!
This is courtesy of my friend Na'Sheela "So my WW leader has this thing she does where she gives us paper clips every week... Each paper clip represents 1 pound.... So every time I get a paper clip I chain it to the others and I get to see my progress everytime I see my chain of paper clips... It's a great motivator... It's kinda like playing a game and every paper clip is an inch closer to the next level . . . "
You can use what ever you want but it just seems like a terrific idea!! What do you think you would use - I am seriously thinking of getting a clear glass jar & colorful marbles :-)
All day yesterday I was thinking about 'visual motivators'...
I got to thinking that I could make a patchwork quilt of all the U.S States that I have 'virtually' passed through on my journey...well, unfortunately, I can't sew to save my life, ROFL!
So then I got to thinking more about it....and my HUSBAND suggested that I make a 'virtual' quilt and put it on my Biking Across America website...and then every time I enter into a new U.S State (virtually, of course), I can upload another 'patch' to my quilt...
LOL, I'm a bit of a dork, but whatever works right?? I started my quilt today and added those U.S States that I've already managed to bike through..California (my starting location), Nevada & Arizona... I'm excited about being able to add New Mexico here in a little while, along with a whole bunch of other States on my Journey to Onederland.
