In the summer, I like to have a picnic lunch at a park with my family while we watch a free performance of Shakespeare. I love eating a turkey sub with mustard and lots of tomatoes . I also eat grapes and cherries for dessert. Yum!

i LOVE picnics! Anywhere outdoors is good for a picnic, but of course if it's not in the city it's even better. Anything that's portable is fair game -- everything tastes so much better outdoors! Sadly, I don't have anyone who also likes picnics, so I don't get to do it much these days. I guess I should start packing a picnic and going by myself with a good book, just to listen to the birds and watch the grass grow.

My favorite place is Horse Shoe Lake. I go with my friend and we take our air mattresses to float around in the lake. We always stop at the deli and get fried chicken, potato & macaroni salad and baked beans.

We go to a state park, there are several within 50 miles with beautiful beaches. I make cold cut and cheese sammies for DH and take fruit, veggies for us to share and a wheat berry protein salad for me. I'm vegetarian/vegan and he is an omnivore. We also take bottled spring water and unsweetened ice tea.

We generally like to grill hamburgers or hot dogs and fresh corn. We also make sure there are different types of salad, lots of fruit and plenty of cold water.

I love eating outside, but keep it simple. I pack hardy fresh fruit, such as apples or oranges, crackers, peanut butter, sliced cheese. I used to love salami with this, but am trying to change that. I like smoked herring and sardines, too, and a good pickle. Cold water or tea for me, diet soda for my dh.

When we lived in the city we would prepare salads, snacks and fruits along with a drink and sit overlooking the river at picnic table. Half the joy was in the table cloth. Now we live in a remote area and the bugs are horrendous (not so civilized) and we tend to just eat inside.

Usually sandwiches, chips and some fruit. And also snacks, because all the places we go are an hour or more away.

We haven't gone on a picnic in years. Usually when we do go it's been to a park near the river and we'll grill hot dogs and have baked beans and chips.

I don't often go on picnics. I sometimes take things too cookouts. I suppose the closest to a picnic is when one of my community bands has a family picnic before its last concert of the season. We all take a dish to share, making it a potluck meal.

Picnic.. even the word makes me grin ear to ear. Growing up in a large family that traveled a lot, we did a picnic for meals on the road and camped for sleeping.
I liked coldcuts and rolls, some side salad and usually brownies. I have not been on a picnic in years and I know I would have to update what I bring to include healthy foods.

We have so many beautiful places where we live that picnics are almost inevitable! My hubby and I go and eat at parks or by the river sometimes. (And of course, us BEARGODDESS's can't resist a pic-inic basket!)

I like picnics, because its family time spent focusing on us. Any place that isn't too windy works and I like the snacky type food. Nothing special... sometimes the hub grills sausages or the like. Whatever... it all seems to taste good when eaten outdoors!!!

Don't like them, perhaps because it was just because of all the stuff to lug around and the bugs.

As a child my family went on many picnics. We usually went to a city park and Grandpa grilled our hamburgers or hot dogs on his charcoal grill. We would bring other foods. As an adult living in Africa I do not go on picnics often. Sometimes those of us who work together do have a picnic though down at the tennis court and then we do grill out there. We end up with S'MORES.
