I make mine with sprouted grain bread, turkey bacon, and fresh garden ripened tomatoes.

The last time I had a BLT was a year ago at Subway. It was a refreshing change to the chicken subs I usually ordered. I prefer keep bacon out of my house, though, I tend overeat on it.

Love them. ALTs as well. I'm trying to lower the BLT's calories without losing the taste, trying turkey bacon, canadian bacon and vegetarian substitutes. But we love those big multicolor, flavorful heirloom tomatoes, est them alone and in sandwiches and sauces of all kinds. We are growing at least 8 varieties this year.

I do but not often. It is really a calorie killer isn't it, wonder if there is a healthy version of BLT that is 100 calories or less. Then it wouldn't be so bad.

I love them and, as with anything, even bacon in moderation is not a bad thing. Turkey bacon is good on them too, in fact my 12 year old daughter prefers turkey bacon.

Think I need to add some, especially with the fresh tomatoes, to my meal plan soon!

ENJOY!!!!

I do if I have some home-grown tomatoes on hand with actual flavor. If the tomatoes are store-bought, not so much. (By the way the "bacon" I use is morningstar farms veggie ""bacon"; hope that counts!)

Haven't thought of BLT's in years. I keep buying fresh farmstand tomatoes, and they are so good just sliced with salt and pepper, that I hadn't thought of making a BLT. I don't prohibit any foods, only quantities and cooking methods so do have bacon in the house. Maybe today for lunch...

Pretty much only have LTs without mayo. Still very good. I just don't allow bacon in to the house.

Just bacon sandwiches about once a month. Love bacon. Cook in microwave on paper towels. Absorbs most of the grease.

I wrote a blog on cooking bacon...I really enjoy it once in a while and make a BLT wrap... a bit of mayo on the wrap, lettuce, tomato and some crumbled bacon...mmmmm, good!! AND, if I should happen to have some "laying around the house"...I add a couple of chunks of chicken for good measure...makes it a BLT Club wrap!! I cook my bacon in the oven...check out my blog if you want the details. emoticon

My cousin and Mom came over for BLT sandwiches this evening. Cousin Dean brought lots of tomatoes. Mom brought bread, lettuce and bacon. I had the iced tea and Mayo. They were so good. I know that the bacon was not the best but wow...were they good. I suppose we could have used turkey bacon but somehow I don't think it would have been the same.

Do you eat BLTs? Have you and any this year with fresh tomatoes?
