I count it by the ounce. I have 2 32-oz glasses each day, throughout the day PLUS whatever I drink in my waterbottle while exercising. I used to measure, but now it's become such a habit that I feel like something's missing if I haven't had enough water!

Go point Rolandd. I try to space them out too. That helps with flushing out the bad stuff and also with elimination of other wastes! emoticon

Yes, 8 to 12 - 8oz cups of water is what we should strive for, but also keep in mind they are to be sipped throughout the day, not slugged down. Otherwise it just runs through you instead of slowly flushing the impurities out of your body.

8 oz = 1 glass, I try to force myself to drink a full 8 cups per day. It is best for me to measure 8 glasses in a container and concentrate to finishing the container.

When I am in Mexico which is a good part of the yr. I love to drink water with a twist of lime but when back in northern Canada I can not bear it. Then I drink huge amounts of cranberry tea. This works for me.

I drink at least 12 glasses/cups a day. That's without coffee, milk or any other liquids. Fluids are good for your system. It flushes the toxins out through your kidneys and it also helps you to feel a little fuller so you tend to eat less. Yes, you can drink too much water but each of us require different amounts to keep us hydrated. The recommendation is 8 - 12 glasses a day. The kidneys can filter about 15 liters a day and that would be a lot of water being drank, Hope this answers your question.

Your welcome.

The key to knowing if you are over/under counting is to measure every thing. A lot of people have a nice scale to weigh foods too which I haven't had. Mine was a cheapy and I probably should get a good one. But otherwise measuring cups do the job too.

Thanks for that. I always feel like I over-count the positive and under count the negative which ends up hurting in the long run. So I starting a wee bit different this time

Most of the figures that are given is that 8 oz. is a glass of water which is also one cup. So your 16 oz. glass would be 2 glasses or 2 cups.

So I know we are supposed to count water but I've always wondered do you count it by the glass (which nowadays is almost 16 oz) or do you count by the ounce and that same glass would count as 2 servings?
