Just finished the 5% Challenge for Summer to try to lose 5% of my weight in 8 weeks--stuck faithfully to my SP program and lost a tad more than my 5%. SP works, when I do.

I added an eighth round to my mall walk today for a total of 5 miles straight. I can't remember how many years ago it was since the last time I did 5 miles without interruption.

Yesterday, I paid no extra price nor did anything special, just paid the price in the typical way--lowering the calories and upping the exercise--@1190 calories, 40 minute walk, ten minutes of strength training.

It was raining this AM, but I was willing to spend the money for the gas it took to drive 15 miles to the nearest mall to get in my walk. Also, made a special trip to the grocery store to get my favorite cappuccino soy milk, since my nutrition tracker put me short on calcium, protein, and fiber, and a cup of soymilk would take care of all three deficits.

Too hot to walk outdoors, so I began my day with a 2 mile indoor fitness walk along with Leslie Sansome (available for free on YouTube or RealAge) followed by 10 minutes of Coach Nicole's Seated Core Workout. Both cost me time and effort but not money to pay the price.

Switched from regular to low sodium V8. Gaaakkkk, but my daily sodium dropped to the normal range

chose to drink my water instead of milk with 1/2 banana nut muffin. I was reaching for the milk because it is a habit to drink milk with muffins/bread

You can get anywhere you want to go if you take it one step at a time.....

Skipped out on a fun after-church pot luck social with my friends and went home to eat my Lean Cuisine and smoothie all alone--probably saved about 500 calories

I skipped the popcorn when I went to the movies yesterday and was I happy. When I got home last night, I saw on the computer that a medium movie theater popcorn has 1100 calories and 90 grams of fat. Let me repeat 1100 calories and 90 grams of fat. I will never eat popcorn at the movies again!

I did an hour on the elliptical yesterday, which is great for me. For some reason the elliptical seems as hard as running.

I didn't get my Wii time again! (DH, 3 kids and only 1 Wii) emoticon
But I made up for it on the elliptical (1 hour) and stationary bike (30 minutes)!

I took the bus today to my appointment hoping to get a ride back but had to walk more than half the way back home(5 kms) After getting off the bus.

I'm really concentrating on exercise today!
I just got an elliptical machine so I did 45 minutes on it today.
Then 15 minutes on the Gazelle to bring my heart rate back down because it wasn't quite working on the elliptical.
30 minutes on the stationary bike

I still need to do the January Jumpstart video and I'll do steps on the Wii Fit while the football game is on!

I've had 4 complete days now of staying in my calorie range and working on a 5th. I got out and ran for 3 miles this morning. First time I've been able to run in almost a month because of various things. It felt great (mentally at least, was a little hard physically with such a long break) and I'm getting back into my fitness that got all messed up in December.
