Every day before getting out of bed, before exercise and after exercise and whenever my back, hip, and leg start to hurt or go numb. Gotta do it for spinal stenosis.

Yes, it helps to loosen my joints and muscles when I get up. I actually do some the stretches while I am still in bed.

Yeah buddy! Sometime 3 or 4 times a day. It is my only pain mgt along with yoga. I recently realized that yoga really helps with pain mgt. I fired my chiropractic neurologist. Yoga and stretching are my new doctor's

Yes! My low back has a tendency to spasm and if I stretch my butt, hips, thighs, and back regularly it prevents a great deal of pain. Nothing like pain prevention as motivation! I know how good it is for my body too, but sometimes that's not enough to make me do it...

After all I've learned here on SparkPeople I believe that article is a very good read and keeper.

I make sure to stretch after all my cardio workouts and walks and after my strength training. I've been a little lacking in doing my Wii yoga poses and plan on remedying that here shortly before my guys return to the home.

I'm a long distance walker and when I'm done I'm usually so stiff that taking my shoes and socks off is a stretching exercise. I've discovered the truth that stretching is important. During the hot summer I did most of my stretching in the shower in order to solve 2 problems in the time of 1.

I do some stretches after my cardio and strength training workouts. It keeps the soreness and cramps away.

I also do some stretches as I brush my teeth in the morning and evening - calf raises, leg raises. It's a good way to get the brushing time to pass more quickly!

I stretch every morning after exercise for about an hour. I had seen a doctor for back and leg pain, who in turn sent me to a physical therapist. Since being released I continue the stretches and exercise she had me doing and I have no pain.

Boy o boy, did I learn this one the hard way. I do now stretch. I try to warm up a little before my sessions and try to cool down/stretch it out after. Cramping is NOT fun so stretch time is well worth it! Share your smile today, Karen emoticon

Ooooh yes!! I get sore if I don't stretch. And by stretching well - I have found I can push through pain barriers!!
I stretch 10 mins after a Curves wokout but then come home and do a 49 min DVD of Seated Stretches. The days I don't go to Curves I do 49min Stretch DVD too!!
Itsby doing this - seemingly excessive stretching - and by doing a longer than usual warm up - that I have got over delayed onset pain that I got for 6wks before I started the DVD!!
