I keep a bowl of apples and oranges on my kitchen counter and I always have bananas on hand. I also keep seaonal fresh fruit on hand. Right now I'm loving cantaloupe, watermelon, and plums.

I also keep carrot chips, cucumber slices, and broccoli flowerets in the fridge. I usually have some roasted pepper hummus or a fat-free ranch dip that I make on hand.

I put at least one fruit snack and one veggie snack in my lunch bag on work days. That way I'm covered.

Write on!

Generally snacking at home isn't a problem, but at work? Now you've got my attention! I keep microwave popcorn on hand and I have a weakness for Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds! But almonds are good for you in moderation, so I always make myself count out 14 almonds, 1/2 serving, and put the can away. I agree with the previous poster who said she has just about anything as long as she only has a little bit of it! I also just recently discovered Laughing Cow cheese wedges and one of those on half a slice of bread, a couple crackers, or pita - or even spread in celery sticks, makes a wonderful snack for me.

Organic jumbo raisins, dried peaches and apricots, whole wheat crackers, raw almonds, pistachios, fresh fruit, low fat string cheese and low fat cheddar cheese snack packs. There are a few food bars too of different kinds, but they are processed enough that I don't eat them frequently.

Fresh fruit, applesauce, fresh veggies, raw or dry roasted almonds in portion controlled packs, Kashi bars, VitaTops, unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

I don't usually snack during the day, but come 9:00PM I'm looking for something so I keep portion controlled indulgences (WW Fudge Bar, Skinny Cow, etc.).

I like this thread. It is reminding me of healthy things I like that I can stock my kitchen up with for elevenses and the mid-afternoon munchies. :-)

I always have apples and bananas and yogurt to hand for simple smoothies or breakfast cereal and porridge toppings.I have also fallen in love with organic partially rehydrated apricots. I'm looking into more options to replace the last of my weightwatcher cakes and desserts.

Hugs,
Lex xxx

Fruit - nectarines, grapes (packed in individual portions), peaches, strawberries and melon cut up. Living in Southern CA, I always have access to fresh fruit even when not in season

Low fat yogurt, string cheese and biscotti (get from Trader Joes) 3 of them are 1 serving and this really helps at night

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

My refrigerator is ALWAYS stocked with seedless grapes, navel oranges, and medium sized apples. I buy the oranges and apples by the bag. All of these are kept, nice and old, in bowls in the bottom of my fridge.

Last night about 2am I got the munchies so badly it woke me up. I had such a strong sweet tooth. So I went down the hall and cut an orange into small slices. Boy, did that do the trick.

Since my kitchen is completly healthy now, those things are the only sweets in the house. And I'm relieved. I can then have more decadent treats at special occasions where portion control is done for me. Order a piece of cake and split it with one or two other people, for instance. Nothing is off my list of possible foods to eat. I just don't buy quantities of the things I know I can't handle having around.

Besides the standards such as fresh fruit, veggies, yogurt & low fat/salt popcorn I enjoy Arnolds Sandwich Rounds or Flats (Can NEVER remember what they are called) with low fat cheese or hummus, Triscuit has a "cracked pepper" cracker that contains fairly healthy volumes of calories, fat & sodium. I LOVE these crackers and eat them with all kinds of low fat dips and spreads. I also enjoy cottage cheese, graham crackers (except I can Never stop at just one serving,) Brach's Orchard Fruit Snacks (kinda like gummy fruit, but they are the lowest calorie ones I've found.) Oh, and string cheese. LOVE string cheese. Oh, and of course a variety of nuts, except I have to be careful with nuts. I tend to go WAY over board eating nuts and I really have to watch my sodium.
