Just joined this challenge! I do have some stress right now with work and going back to my old job. I was hired at a different retail job and what they promised to the employees is not close. They said that everyone will get around 27-29 hours a week, even after the holidays. That wasn't the case since we are all getting around 15-16 hours. A lot of us quit our former jobs to for this one since it pays more, but I won't be able to pay a $374 car payment or my $375 student loan on $400 a month. The good thing is that my job said that it was ok for me to go back, it's just a matter of getting me back on the schedule! At this point, I have to make do and be patient, but I did learn a lesson: sometimes it isn't worth the extra dollar because in the end, what one currently has can still work!

I try to be filled with gratitude at all times. I have so much to be thankful for. When issues arise that I cannot control, the stress kicks in. I need to learn to "let it go" and turn it over to God. I need help with this.

The stress-busting challenge is for me. I hope to learn how to handle these issues that I cannot change.

They say I ought to make sure my mind is clear of unhealthy relationship with stress's negativity.

Healthy stress is actually a real thing. Learn to separate the two by identifying, clarifying, and restructuring just where my boundaries help me to have health.

Walking the dogs around the lake next will definitely be healthy. Clearing my mind of worry will be replaced by appreciation of autumn's glow.

I joined this challenge mainly because I know in my mind that I have so many things to be grateful for but, I allow myself to remain stressed out over other things that only I can control. For a few weeks I have been stressed over being injured! Worry about getting in my daily steps, making the "grade" as far as the scale..not being accountable to myself just hasn't been what I wanted to feel! I know that accountability wasn't the issue! I was accountable to my resting and healing time, duh?!

I'm checking in. I am an ICU RN with constant stress at work because things change minute by minute. I am looking at how I currently handle stress and am going to make some changes in the near future on how I handle certain situations.

I just realized I never checked in. I'm here because of three main issues, my children, my health and my finances. All of my stress centers around one of those three areas and they are all interrelated so my stress level is just one giant cortisol creating spider web of Blah.

emoticon I haven't been to this team in a very very long time but realize I've endured too much stress to ignore your support any further. I stroked in spring, fought for recovery to the level I could, then had to rise to another level of function to assist my mother's operation and two week intense illness. Though I'm doing fairly well, all things considered, the stresses have been huge. Now I must interview strangers to pick one to live here to cover expenses and I'm afraid of what will be.

During all this I did gain off my goal maintenance number, but realistically, 5 lbs from all things considered is okay. I miss the great feeling the goal set point affords me and perhaps will be able to return there some time in the future.

Stress busters. We can't be organized enough? Certainly that pertains to me. My home is not in right order and I can't problem solve it on my own. Easy does it means accepting what I can't change and changing what I can.

Thanks for holding this space open. I better pick something next that I can do and not judge if it's too little or late.

Hi! I went to the dr. today and had x-rays. The arm is doing well. I go back in 3 weeks for x-rays again. The dr. gave me one exercise to do to keep the shoulder from freezing up. He said if the next x-rays are good, he will give me more exercises. At this time, it doesn't look like I'll need surgery. emoticon I almost went overboard when I got home. I was truly hungry, but it seemed hard to stop once I got started eating. emoticon

Hi! I've been a member here at SP for about a year now. I had been here 3 years ago, but quit. I did manage to keep off the weight I lost when I was here the first time, and I also maintained weight lost before I came to SP the first time. I've lost a grand total of 76 pounds in 3 years and 59 pounds since last August. Things have been going well until last Saturday (6/28) when I fell and broke my arm/shoulder. It's my dominant hand too! I've always tended to eat either out of boredom or being stressed. Now, my stress is compounded. I know I'm going to need some extra help to keep losing weight. I also seem to have stomach/digestive issues which get aggravated by stress. So, that's why I'm here. I have 51 more pounds to lose. I'd like to have it all off by this time next year. I know it's doable, and this should just be a minor setback, but it's a big disappointment. It's wrecked some of my big plans for the summer. Add to being at home, I'm limited to what I can do at home. It's hard to cook, hold a book to read, hard to sleep at night (with a sling on my arm), and I can't drive. It's really a big pain in the seat department! emoticon

I just vacuumed my house, chatted on the phone with my mom, and had some toast for a light snack. Going to a yoga class, an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, and a new friend's house later! Let's all kick stress together!
