I do not have one. But I am thinking of using my measuring cups to measure out portions for now. I may look into a scale later this month.

i personally do not, but i had one at my old job and we always portioned out our food... the protein, fruits, vegetables, salads, ect. when i used the food scale i was at a healthy wieght of 118 lbs. and had a lot of energy. i wasnt overeating and was eating healthy, and working out doing cardio/wieghts... which made me feel super good about myself :)

A workout is a personal triumph over laziness and procrastination.

I own an old fashioned food scale like the old ones they used in butcher shops except it is a small version. It is the old round kind with the bowl on top. I bought it LONG before I even concerned myself with fitness and health. But it was cheap and it works very well. We also use it for buying bulk meats.

Yes, have scales on the counter all the time, with a notepad and pen so I can write down what the weight of something I am going to eat can be put into my food tracker. I find I forget what something weighs very easily.
When time permits I want my kitchen laptop to be setup so I can just type in the weight and what I am going to eat right into my tracker.

Yes, I think that it has been beneficial to my current weight loss. The one I have also calculates the calories for the food weighed. This feature has been an eye opener for me because I didnít realize how many calories I was really eating! No wonder I wasnít losing any weight.

My scale is a Weight Watcher. I love it. It does not have a removeable part, but it calculates tare for whatever you want to put the food into. You can add several ingredients one at a time and by resetting the tare, know how much of each you have on the plate - like salad.

My scale has its own place on the counter and used often. If that scale was placed off the counter I would not look for it to use. So there the thing sets. It is a digital scale and works great.
Especially after shopping for family packs of meat, it sets right next to the Food Saver.

Yes - had a basic one, but just bought a new Emerson electronic one that does fractions of ounces. I love it and would hightly recommend it. Have used it to weigh packages too that the post office has confirmed the weight on. I measure everything. Just last night, I was using it to weigh pool cues. My husband thought I was nuts, saying you can't measure ounces. He soon learned my new scale was accuate to fractions of ounces. You probably think I walk around the house weighing everything...not true. He wants a new pool cue for Christmas, and the weight in ounces matters when you buy one.

Also using my measuring cups and spoons. They are always in the dishwasher!

I have a very good scale by Salter called Academy. If you have a tummy no problem the numbers to read are out in front, the scale is very accurate. It would be something to put under the tree for xmas. It was a little pricy at $59 delivered by Amazon, but well worth the price.

I have two scales, but like to measure my food by cups, tsp, tablespoons, "eaches" etc. Since I live alone, I store (freeze) my meat in serving sizes that I have pre-measured so I don't have to do it every time. Since I eat a lot of salad, I use the 3 of this, 2 of that, etc. Cheese I measure by the 1/4 cup etc. but there are lots of reasons to have a scale and be faithful in measuring and weighing food and recording every calorie. Helps me stay HONEST! with myself!

First of all its December!!! I love this time of year. And I finally got to go out and scrape snow off my windshield.. lol Its good Christmas snow (it sticks together nicely to make snowballs) not that there is really enough to make a lot of snow balls.. lol
And I don't have a scale. emoticon
Is this a bad thing... ? By reading this it seems I should. I have been doing pretty well so far guest-amating.. but it seems the scale would be a little more of a positive!

I broke down and bought the BIggest Loser scale. Not sure I like it because it doesn't necessarily weigh everything that's not containerized. I mean, if it's in a baggie, the scale doesn't necessarily move.

I was doing just fine with my old fashioned scale. That thing weighed a breath of air. Glad I didn't throw it away. I've been weighing for a while now. I also own measuring cups - different sizes. It's oftentimes easier than using the scale.

I bought this one (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001N07K
UE/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details) not too long ago. You just place what you want to weigh in a bowl, reset the scale, and there ya go.

I'm horrible at eyeing portion sizes. 3oz of meat is supposed to be the size of a deck of cards, but I don't have a deck of cards right there to measure it against! The scale has been a huge help.

I own an old non-digital scale that I bought in 1995. It serves the purpose, but I sure do like the newer digital ones I've seen. I just can't see spending $40 or more dollars (yet) for a "pretty" scale when the one I have is doing what I need it to do. I did say "yet." LOL

I had a hand-me-down from my parents. When it finally died, I didn't replace it for almost a month. I hated not having one. You do get "more" for your servings. Mine is fancier than I needed, all I do is use it to weigh food. I don't track anything on it....
