Hi Debby! I did read your last reply and responded on your Spark Page. I would love to Buddy with you. I am on day 3 of the first week (I missed a day this week). I did well today. I do love the outdoors as you do and have been bummed much of this month with all the local fires that have brought lots of smoke this way. We have had local air advisories to stay inside so we are trying to do that. The smoke seems to be better this week but we have been busy with back to school stuff.
I will probably message you on your page if that is okay. I will stay in touch and pray for you each day.

Hi ... I responded to your post about a buddy, but did it by hitting "reply". Then I wondered if you get any kind of notice that way or if it just sits in the discussion forum for you to check back and notice. So I thought I'd send you a quick note. I'm up for buddying up if you are. Sounds like we have a lot in common (I am an outdoor lover, enjoy finding new and healthy recipes, and one of the reasons I love being out in nature so much is because it's a quiet beautiful place to admire all God has provided us ... and to remember that within his awesome landscape He has a plan for me, too, and for all the others I pass, whether or not I can see or understand their purpose from my perspective). Getting and staying fit and healthy is way to ensure I'm ready to meet the challenge of whatever I'm meant to accomplish in this life.

I was using the website regularly until I got a new smart phone that allows me to use the food and fitness trackers. Then I got lazy with the trackers, too. Now that I'm trying to "recharge" my fitness plan, I am signing on more often again. Realized I was missing out on a lot of support, encouragement and awesome resources! I'm more of a hand-written journal writer than a social networker, but I think I can be a good buddy if you are still looking for one.

In any case, I hope your 28-day challenge is off to a good start. I just finished Day 7 this morning. Already 1/4 done!

Noticed that you are just getting started on the 28-day challenge and I am, too. I sometimes don't get a lot of computer time, but I will try to be a good buddy if you are still interested. I've used the SparkPeople website for awhile and like all the great and motivating resources. But it wasn't until I got The Spark about a year ago that I started really setting goals and sticking to them. Lost 20 lbs but have been stalled for awhile and need to "reboot". I'm committing to 20 minutes per day first thing in the morning, and trying to do at least a 30 minute evening walk most days. Day 6 and so far, so good. How about you? Still going, I hope!

Hey everyone,
I havent been on Sp in almost a week.. and even longer (months) since I've been on this team page. But I want to really kickstart back into my workouts.. and figured this is the best place to start. I"m looking for a buddy who can keep me motivated, and yell at me when I'm not lol. I want to take the title of this group literally "BOOTCAMP"!
Personally I'm your average girl. I have a job that I'm not completely happy at, I'm a student trying to finish her last semester of school so I can start a reall career at a hospital so I can really feel like I'm helping people. I have dreams of being a police officer (which got shot down because of my illnesses), being a marathon runner, being a body builder, a tennis player, a personal trainer.. etc.
But reality hits (life happens, things get in the way) and it seems like I'll never achieve any of my dreams. I want to be fit, not skinny. I want to be healthy. And I want to find a buddy who's wanting the same thing. I want to grow from this, I want it to really mean something. If you do too pleace send me a pm to my inbox, and we'll go from there. I dont care about age, race, gender, - anything - as long as you can respect where I'm coming from, understand what I want to achieve, and believe you have the drive to help push me to achieve it, then your the perfect buddy for me. well memorial day weekend did NOT do me any favors! I had my sister's graduation open house on Friday so I got stuck entertaining family all day. I guess we could call chasing after a million kids and running back in and out of the house to serve guests exercise but I'm sure the amount I ate made up for that! :) I got back in the swing of things finally today after a looong weekend of activities and finally got through day 6... on day..... NOT day 6, haha! Then did a little over a half hour of cardio working my butt off to make up for this long weekend. I'm feeling better now, and I'm glad I didn't fall off the wagon, just stalled behind a bit. I'm still going!! And I need to remind myself not to be surprised by a little weight gain from this weekend when I weigh in tomorrow.

Well, like you say it's difficult! But ... this morning logging in, checking in my Sparks people gave me the much needed motivation and that was put the one front of the other. Today was a good challenge. I may not have met the mark, but I know in my heart, I pushed, I worked, and therefore, if you have those two and you made it, you're a success. Just checking in for an update....How is the bootcamp challenge going for you? I just started with Week 2 today. I have to admit that 10 minute cardio video is a bear. It took me about 20 minutes to get myself motivated to get to it...Great feeling to have completed it. Looking forward to the challenge again next Sunday

I understand about motivation. It is so refreshing to hear somebody else with similar issues. My encouragement for you today is that your first step is the hardest, but once taken, it's a trot, and then a full blown trot. I've been waivering myself lately, for many reasons. I know for the most part though, exercise is very important to me in the way I feel, handle the day as I also use that time for prayer. It gives me a reset so to speak. I felt the same! I struggled to get up ad do it...but after i was very HAPPY! (satisfied as you stated is really a better way to describe it) I actually sent a text to a friend regarding it being a lower body workout. I had been thinking it would be upper body...not sure why? I just did day 5, too! For some reason today's video really made me satisfied with all of the videos because it seems that we are working different areas every day. That is great because I was really sore yesterday from doing day 4 plus starting week 2 of couch 2 5k. Today's workout was nice because I wasn't working those muscles that were already super sore.

Hi TRIGOAL....I'm Rosemary,
I would be happy to buddy up with you and encouage you. I to was working as a hair dresser and nail tech. I'm no longer working in a shop but I do some on the side. Hope we can be a blessing to eachother. I've already lost 20 lbs. before I joined SP two days ago and looking forward to losing to my goal of 30 lbs. I eat 5 small meals a day so that I don't get hungry. I eat 3 small meals and 2 snacks, and that keeps me burning the weight off, along with working out. So far so good! Oh! and I do dring all my water. Hope this encourages you to keep going and stay focused. Good luck on this adventure.

Hi Steph, I'm Tonia. I'm looking to lose about 20-30lbs. I recently graduated nursing school and passed my nursing boards but now I'm waiting to get a job and spending soo much time at home has got me eating and watching tv way too much. Hi everyone - My name is Jenn - I'm a mom to a great 18 year old and a 3 month old - yup - lots of space in between! I work full time and just started back after my maternity leave. I'm new to the board and the challenge but old to Sparkpeople. I was a member here a few years back, lost the weight and then got lazy and put some back on then I got pregnant and put on even more. Thanks for the encouragement. Just back from teaching water aerobics. Alizahh, start from you can. If it makes sense or you feel better starting over then by all means go ahead! If you messed up on weeks 2 or 3 you can also start on the day you "messed up" on or go back to the start of that week. The main thing is to keep going! If the 5K jog is too much, scale it back and walk or alternate walking/jogging. You are more likely to keep it up if the activities you are doing are enjoyable and not so hard that you can't accomplish them.

Dalene, you've probably tried this, but heat rubs, hot water bottles, drinking plenty of water
helps to ease back ache. I hope its not long before your back on form.

Lost a pound, took lunch into work, but slacked off the exercises. On
my 3rd course of antibiotics, hope the hosptial appointment next week pinpoints the problem.

We did have a great group that was posting pretty consistently right here on this thread. Feel free to jump in and start a conversation going!

I am a therapist in Eastern Kentucky, so much of my day is spent sitting emoticon I am trying to move more during the day and especially at night.

I also went to the doc today to get checked out. Rough housing with my boys may have resulted in a fractured finger. It's pretty sore and so I had it x-rayed today. Also got my full blood panel drawn. Should know by tuesday how "healthy" I am or am not. Cross fingers for me!

My name is Denise McIllwain. I'm 34 and I'm very happily married. I've been married for about 17 years and I have 2 children. One is a 6 year old handsome boy and the other is my 7 year old princess. I go to school at Capella University for Psychology. I will graduate in about an year and a half with my next degree, if things go as planned. I'm ready to get the excess weight off of me. I am an 18 year old college student. I have gained the freshman 15 and am determined to get back on track and lose this weight! I have one month and 2 weeks until I am out for summer. I am a mother of two boys, 4 and 8. I am 26 yrs old. I would like someone to talk to, pretty much someone who can call to remind me to workout. We can trade tricks and tips. Glad to see you cphunt! and Kbelle it's awesome that you are doing better!

Today was a difficult day for me, we had an emergency client come into the office and I was the one available to see them. This resulted in me being at work 2 hours past quitting time. I called EVERY hospital in the area to try to get him in for an extended stay, but that did not happen. By the time my notes were done, it was after 7 and I have an hour commute!

Needless to say, I am exhausted, not going to work out tonight and just ready to hit the bed. I'm also fighting a chocolate craving. I know a binge wont actually make me feel good in the long run but I would feel better temporarily. Nah, it's just not worth it. I am just about a hundred calories over my budget for the day thanks in part to good foods that are higher in calories like Peanut butter! yum! I'll stick to my plan and tomorrow will (hopefully) go better!

Hey bootcampers!

I have officially stopped doing the videos but not the physical activity! I am walking daily while my oldest has baseball practice. Building it in when I can. We dont get home until 8 most nights though and I drive to the field straight from work. So by the time I get little boys ready for school the next day, dinner in their bellies and into bed I am so not about doing a BC Video. Maybe once Baseball is over I can add it to my routine.

I'm still going to post here though as I feel I have a few connections and I would miss you all if I just stopped altogether. emoticon

The past week has been extraordinarily busy since we went to Gatlinburg, TN for the weekend I had a lot of planning and packing and cleaning to do. Did lots of walking (and lots of eating). Back on track today and ready to start working on my beach body! emoticon

I need an accountability buddy to start week 1 with by tomorrow. I am unsure on how to begin. I haven't consulted a physician but, I will work hard in moderation. I know with the right partner, daily message and building a routine, I can hold out for 28 days.

Have to weigh in tomorrow, hoping for a -4lb weight loss, That was my goal!! Today I was only a lb away so even if I loss 3 ill be happy!!
