I have same question as someone else on this message board. Can I do two bootcamp workout video a day [ pick up the slack ] . Also some of the houselhold chores in day to day activities can be quiet intense such as bending down cleaning the bathtub , laundry and running up and down the stairs for picking up various things

Can I mix the 2 off days up? I run but don't do it 5 days in a row with 2 off days, I tend to do 3 days on, 1 off, 2 on, 1 off.

Not sure if this is where I post but I had a question I left off finishing week 2 of the 28 day bootcamp and this past week would of been my week 3, but I was so busy with other things and then had a vacation trip. I'm starting today too, but to keep the weekends gym-free, I'll probably do video 1 several times until Sunday, and then really start. I'm doing an hour or so cardio 5 days a week anyway, but this will be a great way to add some strength training.

Today is my start day, it is Thursday, I like the idea of not having the full workout on Saturday and Sunday. Should I start on day 5? I have done two days of Zumba this week. I am not a total beginner to cardio, so I think 30 min will be fine for me. (Excited to start!) emoticon

Hi,

You can keep doing the day 1 cardio video if you wish. Keep in mind, though, that for strength training it is important to give your muscles time to recover and repair in between workouts. For that reason, it is generally recommended that you allow a day or more before performing additional strength training with the same muscle group(s).

The good news is that the videos are repeated each week, so you will have more opportunity to do the video in the future.

How does one keep from injuring muscles and tendons during exercise. I pulled my Achilles tendon and wonder of I should continue to work with that foot or not until it is healed. It really doesn't bother me a whole lot unless I stand on it for a long time.

Just for the record, I didn't hurt it doing any Sparkvideos. I hit my heel on a metal bar goofing around with my dogs out side. Don't ask me. It was a stupid accident. I am just wondering what I should do about exercise.

The workout videos aren't standardized in title in the way they are tracked for this challenge. Some of them may have been used in challenges that pre-date this one, which is why you see that. That title won't affect your participation in the challenge in any way. I hope this helps!

Hi there, my name is Angel. Completing Week 3 Day 7 today.

Not sure if this will answer your question about the 1st day of Bootcamp, but this is what I've noticed and just went w/it the past 3 weeks. Day 1 logs onto my FITNESS TRACKER as " SparkPeople 10-Minute Bootcamp Cardio Workout Video (Coach Nicole) ", it's titled differently when you add it to tracker for some reason. Same as, Day 5 and Day 6, Day 6 has been logging on my tracker as Day 5, even though both are completely different videos. So, assuming there's a glitch or something in only the Title phrasing. Other than that the rest seems to be right on.

Cheering all on along the way!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
I've lost 6 lbs. total at the end of Week 3 here today. 1 more Week to go...WOO-HOO!!!

(also, I have yet to receive a reply/answer to my question about videos too)

I was wondering why Day 1 Bootcamp Cardio Kick Workout (Coach Nicole) is not showing up on the Workout Tracker? I did the workout around 10:00 pm. Does Day 1 get taking off the Tracker at a certain time of the day? I only see Day 2 thru to Day 7.

Not clear on how to earn my trophy for completing this challenge. Are we just supposed to check off the box after we complete each week? Or do we click "Track calories burned" underneath the video each day and that automatically records participation towards the trophy. Help? Instructions are super unclear.

I have a process question. I've done this challenge once before. I am starting it again today. The message says I already did this challenge........does this mean I won't get the weekly emails? I seem to remember getting emails about the end of week 1, etc.

Is it ok to substitute when you do a class or go to the gym for that days workout? I plan on starting tomorrow this challenge as I already worked out at gym today.

emoticon emoticon emoticon HELP. This is my first day of the challenge. I have Fitbit. I walked this morning for 30 minutes I entered it on my fitness tracker. But Fitbit makes entry of how of the minutes and calories burned. When I do a bootcamp workout and log it. Fitbit will count that in my steps or be recorded as 30 minutes of exercise on Fitbit, then it is automatically transferred to my Fitness Tracker. emoticon

What do you suggest? Should I just report from Fitbit and transfer it over? emoticon emoticon

I'm on day 4 but with the way my head is feeling, I'm just not sure I'm up for aerobics. Will this count against me? I'm going to try to do the toning exercises, but might not be able to make anything else. Dadgum migraine disease!!!!!

Just looked at the page again and I don't see adding two days...Just to try to increase amounts of cardio when you're ready?? I just see trying to do 5 days of cardio...but again, no pro. ;)

Not a pro at this by any means, but if you "Save" the 7 different videos to your favorites, you can just go to your favorites to choose which video you want to do for the day. So for example, find Day 1's video and on the left-hand-side of your computer screen, there should be a "Save" button to the left of the video. If you do that for each of the 7 different videos, then when you want quick access, scroll to the bottom of the page (I don't think it's on the Start page, might have to be on a tracker page??), on the right-hand-side there's a link to "My SparkFavorites". It will have all your favorites saved, whether it's videos or articles, whatever you've chosen to save. Click on the link and it will take you directy to what you've saved.

ok. So i think i'm alittle lost. I signed ip for the challenge on the 23rd but actaully started on the 24th. So i saw the list of 10 minutes excersizes for week 1 and was following that. I am now caught up on my 7 days and today should be starting week 2. Is there another 7 days of 10 minutes excersizes or do I just follow those same 1st 7 days of excersizes and add what it says to add for week 2....help!!! Does this make sense?

Hello :)

My question is whether or not there is a short cut from my sparkpeople main page to the list of workouts needing to be completed. I am having a hard time navigating these things and then seeing where I got credit for doing them (i.e. I did day 1 and 2 challenges today)

That's a good question, NETTYDAWG. I would like to know as well. There are several exercises in the videos I am not allowed to do. I just substitute with something I can. I try to keep it similar but not always.

If I go to the gym, and do strength training at the gym, would that count as the strength video for the day (as long as it focused on the same area as the video) or do I need to do the video no matter what. Thanks for the help.

today is Week 1 day 7 for me. I dropped just over a lb already! I did find the coach's SP email...I keep forgetting about SP having email. I so rarely ever get it on this site. I do get lost when trying to post my info on the discussion teams. I'm not sure if i'm even posting on the right message board even now..but, i'm just gonna keep track this way unless I hear someone let me know other wise. Good luck everyone. I think the 10 mins of Exercise includes everything - cardio, videos, strength training, whatever. And the 10 mins of cardio is your non-video aerobic workouts that you choose on your own 5x per week.

I have a question about the Team Goals. Is the "10 mins of Cardio" separate from the "10 mins of Exercise"? or is the exercise a combined total of cardio and video excercise? Does that made sense?

Hi!

I was looking at this challenge and am pretty excited about trying it! I have a question though. I live in a 2nd floor apartment with neighbors all around me. I like to do my exercising in the morning because I tend to have more trouble getting it in if I do it in the evenings. I don't want to wake up my neighbors though, and I'm finding this to be the biggest barrier for me when it comes to exercise. I'm wondering can the exercises in the videos be modified so there is no jumping and things that will wake up others?

To FindingMichele- If you haven't started yet, just start with Week 1 on whatever day you are able to. You don't need to leave just because you didn't start right way. I'm just finishing week 1 after a few days off due to sickness and am behind for week 2 already. Do what you can when possible. Don't beat yourself up if you miss a workout here or there, the point is to keep moving when possible. Try for 10 minutes every day and see how that fits into your schedule. The quick videos may help relieve some of the stress as well. Good Luck!

Here's a possibly silly question. The 7 days are set up so that your non-cardio days are consecutive. Do I have to do it that way? For example, can I make Weds & Fri my non-cardio days? Does it really matter? Heh like I said .. probably a silly question :)
