Thanks! To add to the motivation you have offered, I appreciated the SparkCoach video on Saturday which suggested we look at the saying in reverse: one step back and two steps forward, putting more emphasis on the forward progress. We are far better off than when we started if we are taking two steps forward for each step back. I started my day today with exercise and plan to do so every day of the week. We can do this. Again thanks for the encouragement!
P.S. I never heard of a "cha-cha" but it has a good ring to it! I intend to have less "cha-chas" and more wahoos!

For anyone who thinks they blew it, please rememer a quote that helps me get back on track "Two steps forward, one step back isn't failure, it's a cha cha". Hang in there with us.

I scanned over the forums under the 10 minute challenge and saw that people who took up the challenge are "dropping like flies." Nearly 8000 people posting under week 1 forum, several thousand less posted in week 2, even less in 3 and 4, resulting in only 23 for the fifth week (let's hope many are meeting the goal but not posting). Anyway, I think this challenge is one of the best for getting on track with consistent progress. Let's do this challenge and improve the numbers! In spite of a bumpy start, I'm getting into the 10 minute routine. I started my day today with a SparkPeople kickboxing exercise video. I'm good to go for the day and I am not going to be one of those "dropped flies" :)

I got up this morning and out of habit took my shower. Then remembered my goal of exercising for ten minutes first thing. So I decided to get sweaty anyway and did the exercise. So I'm on track. It will be more convenient tomorrow to get the exercise in first.

Ah thanks. I found it buried in menus! From the start page, choose my trackers, then Spark Streaks, then Start/Manage streaks and finally the option for 10 minute daily exercise challenge. I'm set to go. I think to meet this challenge the ten minutes of exercise will need to be my first activity for the day. That's how I started my day today.

Hi Russell! You can set up custom fast break goals to do that. That way you are tracking them and I believe you can set up custom spark streaks as well.

You haven't failed until you quit trying!!

Can you double up on your exercise for a few days? It may not be correct on your SP gauge, but you'll know you got completely back on track!!

Thanks for the encouragement and good suggestions. On my spark streaks page there is a fitness challenge that counts total minutes of exercise per week. Is there a place to start a streak measuring daily consistency - i.e. how many days a week I exercise. For example, I could exerise for 50 minutes one day which I do sometimes and that might make it look like I had exercised 10 minutes on each of five days. But what I want to work on is getting 10 minutes in on those busy days so that I am getting at least some exercise every day. Does that make sense. So is there a streak in which you can mark yes or no for getting some exercise today? Again, thanks I really appreciated your encouragement not to give up! I won't give up. Let's do this!

Russell! Reset your streaks and see if you can beat your last one with ten minutes of exercise. Life happens and your still posting on spark. Acknowledge that you missed up, let it go andd remeber YOU HAVEN'T FAIKED UNTIL YOU QUIT TRYING!!

I agree. I got so busy yesterday that I didn't do any official exercising. I did walk some while shopping but I don't really count that as exercise. I got the Sunday lazies!!!

We can do this, I know it..... emoticon

I got off to a good start but with this busy weekend (excuses, excuses) I didn't get the exercise in - so I have gone three days without exercise :( The goal is to get in five days of exercise a week. How do I start over with the month challenge?
