Hi All- I'm new to sparkpeople and not ready to run yet (although I did some nice trotting here and there on my walk today). My biggy goal is to run a half marathon or (gulp) a whole one. For now, I'm shooting for a half mile, and we'll see where I go from there. One of my short term goals is to find a 5k to walk in the near future.

Thanks Carla! It's not easy staying positive when you've had a setback, but I'm trying. I really enjoy running though so I keep trying to remind myself that if I have to go the slow and steady route in order to keep doing it, than that's just what I have to do.

But I'll also keep it real, staying positive when you go from being able to run an hour at a time down to just 60 seconds at a time is tough.

Well, for now my BBTB goal of the DM 1/2 marathon is on hold. Hurt my leg a couple of months ago and finally I'm back up and running again but I have to go really slow at it so I don't reinjure. Crap. I'm on Week 3 of C25K so my BBTB goal now is going to be be finishing that on schedule and getting back to running a 5k by the end of November. It looks like there is a turkey trot on Nov 13th that I'm aiming for.

My goal right now is to be able to finish the Chicago Lung run 10k on Sept. 11. But I truly, truly am a turtle! I jogged (running for my short legs) 6 miles last night and it took me an hour and a half! LOL oh well. I did it anywho... emoticon emoticon

Of course, I'm late ib responding to this topic... that's b/c I'm still at the back of the pack when you guys are already at the finish line!!!! :) but I'm gaining!!

My BBTB...to meet up w/ Kara somewhere and run a race with her! Oh, let me be specific ...a 5 K one... I am only to the point where I can run a mile (but not consistently yet :)

Running my first full marathon in November! I am not fast, and I take walk breaks, but I sooo want to ROCK this!!!

To be able to jog for 5 minutes straight. Also to do a 5K un under 40 minutes. The two sort of go hand-in-hand, I think. From there, who knows? The sky's the limit. :)

After the half marathon in Cedar Falls on the 27th my BBTB goal is the Chicago Marathon, yes as in 26.2. Sanity where have you gone!
