Congrats on the half iron tri! I am just hoping to finish my second 5k faster than my first, which was 43:15. Next 5k is in May.

Awesome on the 10k... my very FIRST run was a 10k (thanks to my overly energetic sister) and I finished last... wait, there was one behind me... one ambulance, that is! Making sure I didn't collapse on the way. But the main thing was the fact that I finished on my own two feet and to me, that was success! Maybe next year I won't be last, but I will finish once again!

Hi! Last Sat (9/11) my husband and I did a 10k (my first, he is a marathoner). It took me 1 hr and 20 min! And I wasn't the very last - there were 6 women slower than me :-) It was a huge race, over 2000 people. I guess that means I am truly, truly a turtle! LOL yipee! At least I finished...

Sounds great! I don't think your daughter so much cares if you keep up with her she will either run with you or she will just enjoy the experience of running a race with you!

Congrats on the streak!
Everyone looks like they are doing well. I haven't been online much and they keep blocking this site at work which is where I do most of my sparking! Guess I will have to make a little time each day at home!

My daughter almost fainted when I told her I started running... she wants to do a 5K with me (logistics may be a little dicey - she lives in FL, I live in MD, but we will make it happen :)...anyway, she emails me her time - there's no way I'm at 3 miles, and no way I'm at her time...but I'm trying and it's really fun to have this goal.

Another goal...eventually run a race w/ Kara. Afterall, she's the one who got me started ;)

I want to brag about my streak! I have walked my dogs at least 3 miles on school days 10/11 times. And we had 2 walks on the weekends so I think I'm doing fantastic! emoticon

Great job Kara!!!!

I did some hill/speedwork last night. Went out for 3 miles, and the first 2 were at a good speed and I conquered the hills! The last mile was still an ok speed, but the hill killed me! LOL

Ran one mile again today without stopping, glad to have accomplished this again, did some running/walking training in between my last full mile run 3 days ago, yay! But was it HOT! 84 degrees, 77% humidity, and it supposedly "feels" like 92. Felt like 192 when you're running!

Glad to have that done for today! Maybe I'll be able to work on my speed once the summer's done!

I had my 15k race on july 10th. It went very well. I ran it in 1:43:33 which is an 11:08 pace. Much faster then I thought I would run it. It even had a killer hill right in the middle. Next goal....half marathon!

Saturday is my weigh-in day, and today I hit the big 125.....pounds lost. Fifteen to goal! I still can't believe I did it! Took me over 3 and a half years, but that is the beauty of being a tutle!

It's all so encouraging to read, I'm glad I joined this team, thanks! I trained for a ran a 5 mile race a year and half ago, completed it without stopping, but pace was 13 minute miles. Ugh, I vowed to keep running and improve my time, but here I am, starting all over again.

But, I'm running again, and working towards getting to one mile, then two, then a 5K, trying not to focus on the time but the distance.

The backs of my calves are killing me today though, and the backs of my ankles. I think my legs are protesting! Tough! I've been running consistently for 2 1/2 weeks now, very exciting!

Yesterday I did my personal best pace to date.
I ran 5 miles and ended up with a 10:19 pace!
My goal is a 5k with a 10 or under pace. I have a 5k race coming up in July. I will time myself on my next 3 mile run.

I decided to run the 15k race instead of the 5 k

I completed my 4th 5K race yesterday. Official time of 40:13, time on my watch 39:52. Considering that my goal was to cross the STARTING line, an amazing victory for me!

Been seeing a lot of great things from our fellow turtles, a few completed the Marion Arts Fest 5k and did some times that we were all happy with (LEFTCIRCLES,SUPERKARA WANNABFIT34)hope I didn't miss any that ran that race, HEZLIZZIE and WANNABFIT34 completed half marathons on the 8th! LEFTCIRCLES had his first 10 mile training run! I just wanna say look at us go! If I have missed a recent accomplishment from you please post it for all to see, whether it is a training run or a race let us know!
