I got on my bike yesterday, Weather man said nice warmish weather. I got out there and was freezing, a very cool north wind. Instead of turning around and coming home, text to Hubby who brought me my coat and mitts, so I continued on my way, ended up doing 11.3 km.. emoticon

I have an elevator key for work. We have three levels and I've been leaving my key in my lunchbox and although no running is aloud in the hallways at school, I"ve been trying to power walk without looking like a nut. smiles. Every little bit does help. I too just started back to work on the 10th of January. Well done.

Since starting work Fulltme I've really struggled with getting to the gym. So, I've been taking the opportunity to park far when shopping, use the stairs and get in as many steps as I can. When I weighed I had actually lost a couple pounds.

Fantastic! Been reading all of these, as a matter of fact:), and they are quite inspirational.

Well we are moving and since I started doing yoga am a lot more helpful with the move!! Actually have been taking some of the heavy boxes to everybodies amazement. To be able to help in a significant way, that feels good. emoticon

Glad to have corresponded with you and look forward to next time. Do one thing in the day that makes you very proud of yourself. You (and I) deserve it plus it will give some positivity all around and the world could use that.

Okay team members, I know that I've been MIA a lot lately, but come on, the last non-scale post was LAST YEAR. I fell off the radar late January when I broke my foot. Haven't done too well now it's 8 weeks later and I've gained back over 10 lbs. That was nothing but MY fault. I really don't see much action on here, is it because we're all busy working hard at getting healthy, or are we all in a funk?

Just wondering?

Virtual Walk to California from Springfield, IL - 1,917 miles Miles traveled as of 07-11-09: 317.9 miles -Just passed Doctors Hospital of Springfield, MO (ironic that we used to have a Doctors Hospital in Springfield, IL) on I-44

On October 30th my DH and I had our Gala Opening for our new art gallery. It is called "The Linda Watson Gallery" to honor our dear friend who died of breast cancer . She was an artist, a friend, and a catalyst to bring folks together. We miss her.

Our Gala was a huge success with over 400 people in attendance. The Conroe Courier newspaper announced our Gala and posted the hours. The City of Conroe, TX, closed the street in front of our Gallery because 8 other businesses on our Main Street opened that evening to celebrate our coming out party. Folks were very appreciative of all our efforts, and very complimentary of what we accomplished. We got lots of names, and emails for future notices about Gallery happenings. We even sold a few items. Our evening included a silent auction of art pieces benefiting Cancer Research to honor our friend. All in all it was exciting, and fun.

We will have classes given by our artists in our classroom in the back of the Gallery.

You are doing a wonderful thing to go in and teach the children the joys of creating. You can do this. Best wishes.

OK girls, I know that I'm not the only one with non-scale victories...come on....

I have always dreamed of being a success at sewing, whether it be designing or just simply being recognized for my talents.

I get the opportunity to be a "guest teacher" at my son's high school this month. I will have two class periods to give a little overview of my achievements and then instruct the students on making a simple project (purses out of recycled jeans). This is so awesome and I can hardly wait to let everyone know how it goes....pray for me... Thanks!

Hi everyone, I joined a gym (a first for me)(at least to join and attend)LOL -- I've been three times this past week, measured this a.m. it was so-so. I'd gained one pound, but fear not, I'm not discouraged, I have muscles hurting that I didn't know I had, but it is a good thing....looking forward to gym night tonight....YEAH.....changing things up a lot in my life to make a good difference.

Work harder --- eat smarter...... YEAH.

Thanks Sabrina
Today I posted my measurements on my "Spark" "Weights and Measurements" tracker. My intention is to check up on myself weekly and watch my progress. I need accountability.

Hi
My son is determined to quit smoking, so I challenged myself to support him with weight loss. We telephone each other three times a week, and both are doing well with this challenge. He lives in Michigan, so phone calls are the most personal link we have with each other.
I need to step up the walking exercise to enhance the weight loss. Just calories alone are not doing enough for me.

Last Sunday my friend and I walk fifteen miles. Were ready to walk to the beach in September. It is 15 miles there. What is funny where we walked to last week we were only five miles away from the beach. It was seven and a half miles to this park and seven and a half miles back. But we did it in four and a half hours. Were proud of ourselves.

It's been awhile since I had a good one. I've been going to the same gym for over a year and work out regularly. I take a lot of classes. Anyways yesterday one of the instructors who has an incredible body asked me if I had lost weight and said that my legs looked "really toned and powerful". I was very flattered and now I'm motivated to keep going...I had been feeling less committed to my workout lately, but now I'm back baby!!!

I have 2. After a year of spin classes, I notice that I no longer have chunky inner thighs. They actually trimmed down, woo hoo. Secondly I was at a thrift store yesterday and I saw a shirt I liked as the lady was putting stuff out and asked about it. It was a Medium. I've thought of myself as an XL for so long that I immediately said, "Oh that won't fit". She looked at me, then held up to me, saying "Oh, that will definitely fit." I tried it on and it fit! WooHoo!

Two things:

I swam next to someone the other day and I actually didn't pretend I was racing him! (I'm slightly ultra competitive)

My good friend's husband noticed that I have lost some inches!

At least when I'm walking I don't have to worry if I'm following the exercise leader. I think I was born with two left feet.....lol I'm left handed so I feel it would be appropriate for me to have two left feet. It seems like in any class when everyone is going one way, I'm headed the other. Not so with walking. :)

Walking, walking, walking.................turning into a walk-a-holic.....loving it....scary coming from a non-exercise-motivated person......pounds are still stuck on one number, but I'm not stressing out over that, just having fun walking.

weekends are hard for me too, because i tend to eat out alot more with friends on the weekends. I've started pushing myself to eat at home and then meet friends for bowling/ etc instead of dinner.

That's awesome! I've given up sweets for lent and so far so good. I hope to make it a long term thing. I was eating way too many. Monday is my weigh in day too, so I'll be interested to see how I've been doing with my weight loss. Keep up the good work!

Weekends are difficult for me as well because as a family we seem to meander around looking for food as entertainment on Saturday. I made Monday my weigh in so I would keep my long term goal in mind. Last night I wanted caramel corn in the worst way and used a low cal spark recipe to take care of couch eating. emoticon

Today was tough. I was so not feeling like going to the gym...but I remembered a motto from a book I'm reading and it says "No choice" and "Do it anyway". So I did and it wasn't so bad and I feel good to have accomplished my planned workout.

I'll go first. I have been having trouble with 2 areas, snacking and the scale not moving...hmmm...one might be the problem for the other. Anyway, last night I tried on 3 pairs of pants that I couldn't fit a month or so ago and they fit! Woot! Woohoo! I was very excited. And today when I went through the drive through to p/u lunch for the kids, I didn't order anything. I stuck to my planned eating menu. I'm very proud of myself.
