Well I found one of the missing eggs at least. One is still in the house somewhere. At least they are plastic eggs with candies. Nothing to stink up the house or anything. :-)

Did the Easter egg stuff, then went out for lunch at a local maple syrup place. Got some donuts to bring to my dad and visited his farm. Abby had a great time there! Got home and she got out on her bike for a while. Hubby and I both watched her ride since our neighbor's dog was running around. We took her up the street a bit and stationed ourselves on either end and let her ride in the middle. The dog stayed away and we were able to get her out of the road whenever the occasional car came through (dirt road). I tracked some walking and strength training while I was out there with her so whoohoo! I made my 1000 minute goal for the month.

New month today, starting fresh! April is going to be a busy one for me. Let the good times begin!

rebecca - I am not too bad around dogs - depends on the breed and when Ember was here during the storm I seemed good - the kids can get her washed up the street too - it will be good for them to have a dog and actually for me I will enjoy walking a dog during the morning as well which will be DOUBLE walking time!

have to laugh at your two hidden eggs or should I say MIA Eggs - Been there done that but with two toy cars one year for Christmas - and EVEN when I totally cleaned my house TOP to BOTTOM after my Mom died could not find them

DAWN = I sure wish I had your last name because I would have GONE to visit you at the hospital STILL PRAYING

Maryanne - how did dinner turn out

Our brunch meal was delish and then Colie and I went walking and someone who used to live on our street stopped us when we were with my Dad and asked if my Mom was home so she could go visit - that was painful for sure

Colie and I went on a LONG walk and now he is reading the paper and I am sparking - we plan on watching a movie shortly and enjoying our SMALL bag of jelly beans less than 2 ouches

Have a great day all

Laura

Cathy- Advil and a heating pad

Sue- UGH!! Hope you can stay awake and get home safely

Dawn- Oh my!! Prayers for you!!

Laura- wow. You have a big heart to take in a dog when you are allergic. I would tell them to wait until they are on their own. I hope you don't get too sick from it. :-(

Egg hunt was um.. 6:45am I guess. Whenever she woke up. Bunny came around 1am to hide the eggs. She found 30 of 32 of them. Other 2 are still missing and no one knows where they are! (that's what you get when the Bunny shows up at 1am- should have installed a surveillance camera).

I did a 2.62 mile slow walk, with lots of picture taking yesterday. Went to Tanya's memorial service but it was standing room only so I left before it started. There was a later service but I couldn't make it. Gave my condolences to her husband before I left. I've already sent a card. Also bought a copy of her blog (printed and bound) from her sister like I promised to. Dyed the eggs with Abby around 5pm last night. She got out for a bike ride with hubby and wore him out. Yay!

Today we are hoping to go out for lunch to North Hadley Sugar Shack and then we'll do a ham for dinner. Going to drive up to my dad's house after lunch and maybe leave him some chocolate goodies. We said we weren't celebrating Easter with him but I don't like the idea of him being alone. I'm sure he went to church this morning, but I know his girlfriend is busy with HER family today and didn't invite him along. Sigh.

Good morning all and Happy Easter to those who celebrate.

Dawn - so sorry to hear the news, and certainly hope they fix you up and get you out of there as quick as they can.

Tough morning today, did something to my right lower back yesterday and when I woke this morning it was screaming at me. Still yelling rather loud. I don't know if I'll be able to do any type of workout today. Or the yard work I was hoping to get done. It hurts to move much.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to work it out? Pretty sure it's muscular, probably did something wrong in the yard yesterday and paying for it now.

Still going to try and get some work done, after taking some Aleve of course.
Hope you enjoy the day.
Cathy

Dawn-hope nothing serious and your feeling better soon

Had a great dinner with friends. Just got home and the phone rings. Staff never listened to answering machine until 7:50 and one of my staff called at 2:08 to call out for the overnight. Very hard to get someone at this point to cover so I need to go in. Ugh. I will be on from 11pm till 7pm tomorrow night. Will be a long shift. Hope everyone has a good night and a good day tomorrow.

Cooked a lovely healthy breakfast of oatmeal with nuts and raisins

Got our grocery shopping or produce shopping done at Whole Foods - this week I am making a Ming Tsai recipe and got all I needed for that

Colie and I got a GREAT LONG walk in!! Good thing because my Dad bought us each a small Lindt Chocolate bunny - better yet I tracked it WE STAYED UNDER our goal for calories BUT I must admit we went over our FAT for the day but we usually are so low it won't matter over the course of a week PLUS all our walking and stairs and doing stuff today ACTUALLY BURNT off the BUNNY! YEA

Dressing up real spiffy tomorrow for church with one of my hats - Colie's shirt and tie actually MATCH my dress - I sure hope I can get someone to take a photo of us would love to use it as my profile photo

OOOOOOOOOOH so I do not forget I dropped the 4 I gained and then another 4 SO I am FINALLY moving my weight tracker today! WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO

Figure after today and tomorrow if I am the same next week I have NO COMPLAINTS

This is the lowest I have weighed in years and years!

HAPPY EASTER ALL

Produce Report ! Try the raspberries that are in the stores if you haven't already. They are fantastic (good fiber). Also, we have been getting whole pineapples and cutting them up and putting them with watermelon to make a fresh fruit cup and ooo la la! Topped it once with no-fat Greek yogurt and a few nuts. Happy Spring and snow melting. My best to all.

Laura - I am also a fan of the Roger Williams zoo even though it is close to the highway and so hilly. We have been a couple of times. We went once as an overnight and got a hotel room near the airport. Met the Coast Guard Hockey team. They were drunk and obnoxious. Eww.. anyway, great zoo.

I need to squeeze in 100 fitness minutes by the end of the month to meet my goal. Hoping for today. My to-do list is pretty full and I start it in just a few minutes. Tried the shaving cream Easter eggs this morning. Total fail. Glad I only wasted one egg on it. Will do the eggs the normal way this evening with Abby when we see each other again after our separate adventures.

I've got my list of projects and will be starting in about 5 minutes! Go outside. It looks beautiful! I am looking forward to a walk hopefully.

Morning all, just doing a quick check in before I head out. Need to run a few errands and then back here to work for a little bit. Turkey is almost defrosted and that will go in early tomorrow morning so I can get it cooked and to my brother's by 1:00.

Laura - how frustrating!! My taxes next year will be a nightmare considering I'll be getting almost a full year's salary if I stay till Oct/Nov and then I pick up a full year salary for severance as well as the bonus I just got and the one I will get when I leave (for this year). Not sue what where this will put me but I'm thinking it's NOT going to be good.

Gotta run - heading to the post office........

Have a great Saturday.

I just want to announce I had a frustrating time with my Dad after dinner over paperwork and trying to get things ready for next year's tax return so he does not get clobbered. I had put everything in order for him and I have NO CLUE what the heck he did with it but it was beyond a mess

THEN he could not read the numbers and when I said he needed an eye exam (HE REALLY REALLY DOES) he gave me some attitude over that and was huffing and puffing around me

I WANT IT ON RECORD I DID NOT COME HOME AND STRESS EAT OR HAVE A GLASS OF WINE which was my GUT reaction

I just went online and looked at the tax base and told him what his expected tax bill will be next year if he does not pay attention - I will check to see what they take out of his social security check - he has had NONE taken out for years - he got CLOBBERED this year because little to no taxes came out of ANY of his checks AND without all of my Mom's expenses it was pretty ugly.

OK I am done venting I am looking forward to my snack of yogurt and granola ALL TRACKED too!

ALSO got a good walk in with Colie before dinner over 2 miles!!

NOW to find a good movie to watch and R E L A X

by the way my nails came out great and it was such a treat!!

Maryann-That's great that you got an extension.

I am behind on catching up. This week has been CRAZY! Came into work on Monday to find that I had training all week. Not well planned. It was difficult moving my life around so I could be in the office all week and then trying to fit in workouts, which didn't go so well.
Today's the last day. I am glad.

Going to my cousin's for Easter dinner. Before that we had planned to just go out. Kind of wish that we did. Oh well.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you all how excited I am that this week is almost over!

Lots to accomplish today before I leave for my next dentist appt. This time checking the gums to see if I need a deep scaling (really praying I don't)!

Laura - I just can't believe those idiots in regards to your dad! Do they REALIZE who they are dealing with??? Great job on the trip plans and on the walking! Just keep pushing Colie and that weight will come back off for him. He needs to stay out of the work snacks!

Rebecca - so glad you are going to have time to get your projects done - Abby will be thrilled I'm sure!

Stress - I deal with it the old fashioned way......i get drunk! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Actually, if it gets too bad I immediately plan something for me. Maybe a walk, a manicure.....a long chat on the phone with a good friend.

Sue - bummer about work but I think you knew it was coming. Glad you were able to get to the gym to relieve some of the tension.

This nightmare project of mine is just draining. Issues are still all over the place and we now have 28 days to get it all together and done........ The week after we finish we start up with 4 more projects but all of those are small so hopefully we can manage them all at the same time.

Ok, gotta run - next call coming up.

Have a fabulous day everyone.

OK ALL

Here is one for you - our son's fiancee' wants him to buy her a dog for her birthday and when they get married the dog is part of her possessions so the dog will move in with us!

You all know I am allergic to dogs RIGHT???

they want to rescue a boxer and they are so darn cute - and my sweet hubby and I are having trouble saying NO - we keep saying no but the two of them are SOOOO persistent!

It would be great if they could get his closest straightened out - is a huge walk in one and get his room clean and for him to keep it that way - until we see signs of neatness and clean NO NO and NO

At least the one they are looking at it house trained and YES I have a huge yard! NO I am not getting a doggy door with electronic collar so they dog can get in and out - MAN they have thought of everything!!

GOT TO SMILE ON THIS ONE

I am having a love/hate relationship with the scales. My rings were tight when I put them on this AM so I am going to chalk up the gain I have to water weight! UGH I did see the scales at under 208 this week and was hoping to have a better # say in the 206 range -

Also for the first time in a long time I actually tracked ALL my food and low and behold I could be the starvation mode BECAUSE after I plugged in my food including my snack of fruit loops with my kids at MOP yesterday I was well under 1000 calories!!! You should have seen me going down to the kitchen to get some yogurt. fruit and granola as my snack at 7:30 isn. THEN I made cocoa with my special formula and I was still not even close to my 1400 - I know if you do not eat all your calories and then work out as well you will not drop the weight.

SOOOOOOO I am going to track everything - Colie does better than me because he takes an two pieces of fruit, a chobani non-fat fruit yogurt AND his lunch which is Light wheat bread (90 calories for 2 slices) and whatever we have for lunch - it could be peanut butter and small amount of jelly, 1 ounce of cheese, tuna or supper leftovers. He told me again last night "Honey I blew it - I ate all the food that came in for Christmas at work so that is where my weight came from and I AM NOT doing that now"

Had a repeat client text me after 7 AM today and I am going to help her organize her kitchen in her new house - from getting the shelves lined to getting racks at Bed Bath and Beyond to condense things - charging her $150 - I have such a HARD TIME setting prices for my skill set - I think this is reasonable it will be about 4-5 hours of work. Lots of up and down on ladders and moving stuff

Have a great day all - hoping to get in another good walk later tonight with Colie but in the meantime I will get at least a mile in when I walk to the spa to get my nails done IN MY FLIP FLOPS so not to mess up my pedi! HAHA

have a great day all - the SUN is shining

rebecca - I have been to the San Diego Zoo and loved it!!! I also love the small Roger Williams Zoo in Providence I have some awesome shots of the animals - Tampa zoo I have not been BUT did a private tour of Busch gardens and that was AWESOME got to hold a baby cub, fed the giraffes and elephants and a rhino! We will have a car for a day or two - Colie and I usually walk everywhere or take public transportation - The St Louis Zoo is enormous as well I loved that zoo. We will drive up to Malibu as well - may go to the Beverly Hills hotel as well as I said I plan out well in advance and YES I am thinking it will be a great trip

If you would ask Colie what was his favorite trip he would say Tahiti was his absolute favorite destination and then his next line is always ANY TRIP you plan is always awesome!

Sue- It's a full moon. That is why your hospital is crazy right now. It will get better in a day or two.

Laura- Ok, are you going to have a car? I am guessing you will. If you haven't been there before you should absolutely go to the San Diego Zoo. It is probably the best zoo I've ever been to, and I've been to quite a few. I'll be checking out Tampa's Lowry Zoo in May. :-) Santa Monica is nice too. I didn't get to spend much time there many years ago when I went, but we did hit the beach. Also Hollywood to see the sign and the Hollywood Walk of Stars and all of that. Very cool!! Have lunch in a diner in Beverly Hills and enjoy the valet parking and the 1950s performers. I wish I could remember the name of it for you. Gosh, it was so long ago when I went but I remember some of it like it was yesterday! It will be a great trip for sure!

One of the local Home Depots is doing some Easter stuff for the kids Saturday morning so hubby is going to take Abby to it. That will give me time to do my homemade projects for Easter and her birthday. Thank goodness! Then in the afternoon I am hoping to go to Tanya's memorial service. Looks like I will be kid-free for most of the day tomorrow. Then we'll swap off and he'll go out for Saturday night. Phew!

Today is Good Friday and also the ending of Passover I believe. Our daughter has school but I know a lot of kids have a 3-day weekend. So to those of you who celebrate, enjoy!

Good evening everyone,
Been a really rough 2 days at work.. Every time I think will get a break something happens. Very stressful. Besides the paperwork the clients are just going off. The good thing still able to get to gym yesterday and today to work off some of that stress. Hope everyone has a good night.

Oh Rebecca

One of the reasons I plan a trip so far in advance like the trip to California - first of all we were using points and if you want to go and know when you are going it is advantageous to do it right away and in this caswe the property we are staying at will be upgrading and changing their point structure in May THIS way I have done it guarantees me the OLD point system so I saved over 20,000 points easy.

Then I go online and ordered all the Visitor Bureau brochures, do some digging and gather info on what there is to do and what we like

For instance both Colie and I love zoos and I did not know that LA has a zoo and it is located in Griffith park near the Observatory - so that would be two things off our list because we want to see the observatory

Checking out tours and other things to do and have the name of the concierge at the hotel and have had a preliminary talk with him - so before we even arrive in LA/Santa Monica we will have a pretty good idea on WHAT tours cost, how much we would need for spending money - where we want to eat and we always make sure we have down time between tours or things to do

I have arranged trips for many people and they LOVE how I plan them - my favorite line is WILL YOU GO BACK to that destination and if not what is the ONE thing YOU must do

OK tour is over - soooo looking forward to that trip

OH I forgot we are chaperoning a teen retreat in October - they are going to Vermont and they asked both Colie and I to go - so that will be fun!

Maryanne - Don't let them work you to death before you finish date - hmm maybe now that they know they need you they might look around and figure something else out! Glad you have more time to work things out and pay the credit card

Rebecca - LOVE LOVE LOVE you for hiding eggs and making things so much fun for Abby - she will remember these things - cute story is I have to eat the ears off Ross' chocolate rabbit or he won't eat it - it use to be part of a Sally Forth cartoon so I got his rabbit and OFF came the ears - very tasty I might say with my coffee!!

Dawn - you must be busy with church and things during Easter - how are your girls doing? Any special plans?

We will have small Easter treats BUT again everything in moderation

Also I noticed the scales moving downward again!! Will know more on Saturday but I am seriously thinking of ignoring them for a month and see what happens

Enjoy the evening all

Evening team

PHEW Colie and I did make sure we got our walk in tonight even in misty drizzle BETTER YET we stretched it out more tonight - walk was about 50 minutes! Almost 3 miles too - we did stop and watch the different ducks and sea gulls and observe the planes - also had to wait for the crosswalk light so that 50 minutes may be a bit less anyhow we DID IT!!

Spent the morning with my MOPS kids and it was great - grovery shopping and quite awhile on the phone with the insurance adjustor for my Dad's claim - had a HUGE headache when I was through - you see I am organized to a fault and this guy has HARDLY looked at the medical bills, the photos and such THEN trying to tell me my Dad should have been looking where he was walking and I said when someone crosses a street then do not walk with their heads down they check for cars and I said we can do this the easy way or hard way - I was in construction and I know this games insurance companies play SO you can deal with me and my reasonable request for my Dad or the Personal injury lawyers I know from when I was in construction - the guy backed down and said he needed to check things out - seems the story he got was that it was uneven pavement and I said check out my photos it is a TRENCH and then I sent a copy of the local newspaper that reported the mess too - so we shall see - told what I wanted for monetary compensation and he said that is reasonable and then said I think we can work together here - I said GOOD you check this out and I am telling you if it goes to one of my lawyers or court it will be more - My Dad walks everywhere and he has lost over 5 months of his life, has a scar on his forehead AND partial permanent disability in his finger -

The guy said well is your Dad able to make decisions and I said at 87 my Dad is SHARP as tack and healthy - THIS FALL was something he did not need - then he said well they said they marked it and I said look at my photos with YOUR CONSTRUCTION company truck in it and tell me where the marking were and he said NO WHERE I see I need to go back to the construction company and get more details and I said BEST YOU SHOULD and you have until April 10th!

SOOOOOOO you all can say a prayer it works out and I get what I asked for -

Leftovers tonight were awesome gosh that fish meal last night was over the top good - even Ross said Mom this is just as good as Legal Seafood's - will you make it again? My Dad too !!

Dad is on for cooking tomorrow now that he feels better he is going to do steak, potatoes and veggies!

OH and Colie told me tonight he knows the weight he gained was from overeating at work with all the parties and things the vendors sent it and he said although you made cookies and ate some you know when to stop SO progress everywhere

TOMORROW IS A ME DAY!!! YUP going to get my nails done - Christina said I should get a gel on my fingers anyone want to comment on that -

Have a great night all

Afternoon all. Same old stuff happening here.............work work work

Rebecca - you do such a nice job with Abby. Look at you going to get up when your husband comes home to go outside and hide eggs. That's so cool - I miss doing that for the kids........they are all grown up now. Hmmmm, maybe I should hide eggs with money - bet that would get them all back out there! I'm cooking a turkey and then taking it to my brother's for dinner. Sis-in-law will do everything else but I'll make the potatoes when I get there because the kids pitch a fit otherwise. :) It will be low key this year because both the neices are out of town and now my youngest nephew is going to stay at school. Then this is the holiday when Aggie and her 3 kids go to her mother in laws. Had I realized all of this I might have suggested that we skip the dinner and I could have stayed home too! But it will be fun......

Hope everyone else is doing ok on this dreary day. The sun looked like it was struggling to come out for a bit but now it's just dark and gloomy looking out there!

Ok, back to work......

Maryanne- WOW! Just when you were ready to wrap up and be done, you got an extension! Crazy!

We are staying home for Easter. I asked my dad if he wanted to go out and he said he didn't care. I didn't argue. We just had my birthday in March, and Abby's is coming up in April so we will give him a rest for Easter. We got a ham and potatoes for ourselves.

Last night I got the plastic eggs out and filled them with candy. Hubby goes out on Saturday nights so I told him to wake me up when he comes home so I can go hide the eggs (and do my Easter Bunny work). I plan to do some indoors and some outdoors for her. I still haven't found time to do the "home made" gift for her for either her birthday or Easter. I don't know if I will get to it before Easter now or not. It's hard because the project will need drying time and I don't have much room to dry a project where she won't see it.

Office is HOT this morning which means it will probably be freezing later. I don't know. It was snowing at my house when I drove to work, but rain once I got down off the higher elevations. Sun is out finally now.

Have a good day all!

And Block Head- thanks for dropping in! I don't have a Fitbit but they look like fun and I think Dawn does like hers.

Well well well..............just had to pop on to tell you all the update. It seems that someone somewhere has stopped and realized the mess being created at my company. Not sure about others but I was informed today that my end date has been extended and I will be working till sometime between September and November. HOW INTERESTING. As scary as it is losing the job I was actually ok with it and somewhat happy. Now I have a ton of projects I have to deal with (bummer)............but on the plus side, it gives me a good 6 months to pay off my charge card!

Oh well, so another six months of this job - speaking of which, I need to wrap it up here so I can log off.

Hope all are doing well.

afternoon team or should I say evening

busy day with the house cleaners here and I wanted to make some goodies for the guys who set up the tables for the MOPS program at church so got that done

Picked up fish at the fish pier and I had an awesome dinner if I say so myself with fresh veggies and fish - baked the potatoes

Colie did not get home in time to go for a walk so while he was on his way home I jumped on the exercise bike (so proud of me for doing so) Colie came home and jumped on it but was complaining about his hip (he has issues with it) and stopped so I said NO IF'S ANDS and BUTS we got for a walk tomorrow night - YOU NEED TO GET 4/5 days 4=30 minutes in that is what the cardiologist said and we are doing it!

We have a follow up with our PCP 9 weeks from tomorrow and his goal for that time frame is to drop at least 5 pounds and I am holding myself to 7 pounds - that should put me at 200 even OH PLEASE GOD HELP ME WITH THIS!!

Easter no one invited us so we are going out for breakfast after church or an early lunch whatever people pick - going nowhere special but to our favorite local restaurant AND I AM going to have a Mimosa - it is ONE meal and ONE DAY

Got to dash and get my bag packed for the craft for my kiddies!!

Great idea Dawn - I had not thought of doing this but I will so I don't get caught. We are having Easter dinner at an odd time (between two meals) so I will split my third meal of the day into two mini meals and work with that by bringing my own extras. All great suggestions thanks. Holly

Rebecca. Nice job staying in your calorie range with that mini binge. Though it is likely not ideal I still think it merits some applause. (Clap, clap clap!).

Take care all.

Morning all,

Very tired this morning but pushing to get some things organized. Need to talk to my boss and see if I can turn over all incoming projects to someone else. Once I finish these 2 big projects I'm working on I need to work on cleaning up all my stuff and training people. I think if I can do this and not worry about all these new little projects that keep coming in I'll be in better shape.

MUST get out and buy a new computer asap.

Still have not had a chance to read thru all the posts........hope everyone is doing well.

Maryanne- That is a LONG day! I hope you have a long weekend ahead or something.

Laura- Draining the pool cover?? My yard is still covered in snow. Lucky you!

Had salad and grilled cheese for lunch yesterday, and then salad topped with chicken for supper last night. THEN I binged on 3 100-calorie granola bars. Boo! Stayed in my calorie range but did not feel good about that binge. :-(

Today the sun is shining but it is COLD outside.

Hi team!

What a glorious day today was...no SNOW!! Sunshine, warmer temps. Let's hope it keeps going in this general direction.

Maryanne - I hope things iron out for you. Living day in and out with that stress will do a number on ya. Not to mention adding the dental stuff! I went through hell at one time, for about a year and a half, of dental stuff and I can empathize. Better than letting it go. Small comfort. My best to you on that.

Dawn - sometimes no matter what we do, you still get kicked in the teeth. Hopefully the echo and all other stuff goes well and they figure out what the heck is going on. Given the city you have mentioned before near the Rhode Island border, and the fact you work in a hospital, I wonder if we work for the same institution. Wouldn't that be a hoot? And, I am sorry to hear your pancreas quit.

Just did a bunch of home-based work out stuff, and tomorrow I meet with the personal trainer at Planet Fitness and see if she can help me come up with the right work out that will help me drop these 40-50 pounds. Gulp....

Have a wonderful evening to all!
Cathy

Afternoon team - got some errands done and now doing laundry

Got some walking in already and should get a good walk with Colie when he comes home from work. He is not going to his meeting tonight at church BUT I need to go to give a report to my committee so off I will go

Dad is still feeling a tad under the weather - he does not handle any kind of stomach issue well

Yes - Dawn not bad numbers BUT a wake up call for Colie - I kept telling him his shots of whiskey after work would catch up with him!

NO snow here THANK GOD - nice warm sun and I did get some work done draining the pool cover etc - before you know it I will be swimming! YEA

Maryanne - You are going to STROKE out with that much work and pressure so glad you told them I WANT A DATE!! good for you

Dawn- Wow. I suppose it's good and bad that you are a nurse. You understand all those tests as well as a doctor would and you are scaring yourself! I just look at the doctors and nurses with a blank face and say "Can you tell me if that is good or bad in English?" Even for my blood pressure! Haha.

Maryanne- UGH! What can I say to that. Poor you. I went to a meeting yesterday for some stuff that was supposed to be simple, but after talking to the vendor and hearing the questions around the room I am more confused than ever. I hate it when that happens.

Sue- Way to go with the races!!

Holleeho- WELCOME!! I will say TRACK IT. Yes, Easter may not be the best, but track it and see how you really do. You may be surprised in either direction. I thought I was eating badly yesterday (had chowder for supper) but when I put it in the tracker I was okay because I'd had a salad for lunch. If you do overdo on Sunday, just try to eat right the rest of the week, and definitely go for a walk or workout out or whatever. It is only one meal, and we do live our lives here birthday cake and family dinners included.

Laura- WOW! NEXT March?? You are a planner for sure!!

My husband has a conference to go to at the end of April. He wasn't sure with the state budget situation if he would be approved to go so he didn't book his hotel room until yesterday. Well of course the #1 hotel is sold out! He got stuck with a hotel 1/2 mile away from the conference site. BOo! If he had just booked the hotel a month or two ago he would have been fine, but he waited too long and now it's going to suck to be him for a week. Nothing I can do for it though. :-(

Drove to work in SNOW this morning, but no snow at Umass.

Have a good day.

Hey all,

Everybody has been busy I see.

Laura, I hope your dad is feeling better. You're a good nurse! Colie's A1c isn't all that bad yet. They don't usually start any kinds of meds until your A1c is 7 or greater. I think that if he sticks to the plan he can ward off any further deterioration there. My problem is that my pancreas pooped out, plain and simple. It got tired of making insulin. I am not insulin resistant at all and therefore I become hypoglycemic very easily. Kind of brittle for a type 2 diabetic.

Maryanne, the stress!!!! Oiyee!!! Now the bit with the oral surgery. Goodness gracious. I am praying for you.

Holleeho, you can always bring a little something along that you know you will like that will still be healthy and fill up on that more than the fattening stuff. If your mom has good control of her eating habits then maybe you should copy what she eats. That way you'll know you're eating ok. I don't know if that helps or not. I usually bring stuff that I know I can eat and bring enough for everyone. I drink a boat load of water and get away from the table and the food as quickly as possible. Keep a cup of coffee or tea with you and sip from that. You just have to bring your bag of tricks with you. Also, DON'T GO TO DINNER HUNGRY. Pack a mini snack in the car with you and eat it right before you get there so that you're not so hungry that you can't control yourself when dinner starts. Eat really, really slowly and drink water between bites.

Ok, that's enough of that. I've probably overwhelmed you. Can you tell I've done this a few times.

Now, one would think that with all of this sage advice that I would not be having ANY weight issues at all. But, I've put on at least 10lbs since I started on insulin in July. I brought in all of my fitbit stats as well as myfitnesspal stuff that syncs with my fitbit to both of my docs today. That way they could SEE with their eyes how hard I am working at this to no avail. Both of them admitted that there has to be something wrong somewhere and so, I had blood drawn to check my thyroid, again and this time my cortisol levels were checked. I also had an EKG done. I read it myself and it looked fine but, the machine interpretation said that I had an old infarct. Great. So, now I have to have a echo, stress test done in April. I'm trying not to panic but, I'm not entirely comfortable with the way this is going. An old infarct means that there was some damage done at some unknown point in time. Might have been when I had chest pain back in October when I had all of the trouble with the Zetia. Who knows? We have really ratty cardiac history in my family so it's not surprising but, I am only 52. I do live very healthy. I don't smoke or drink any alcohol at all and you all know how hard I work out. I told the docs that I am not going to take any more cholesterol meds and not to test me for high cholesterol any more b/c it doesn't matter what it is. They both were really good about it and said they understood. I just told them that all of it really scared me and that I'm not willing to try anything else.

Well, I suppose I have vented enough here. Sorry you guys. But, thanks for listening. I will let you know how this all plays out as I get answers....I hope I get answers.

I'm tired. It's been a long and very busy day. I will talk to you all tomorrow.

Evening all - another long day and not a great start to the week.

Ballet was a lot of fun yesterday. We ended up going to Sofia's Italian Steak House in West Roxbury (for those that know the area - it's where Fontaine's used to be). It was FABULOUS! We had 2 glasses of wine and a wonderful dinner and spent well over 2 hrs there. Nice and relaxing............and theeeeeeeeen Monday hit.

Dentist this morning to check that cyst in the roof of my mouth. It grew a tiny bit and now with the (soon to be) loss of job, I have to make a decision. They can do the surgery and remove it but it will cost me my two front implants (teeth). They can save the other two. I'm going to make a follow up appt with the other dentist to talk to him and make a decision. Because I will have to have it done in the hospital to monitor the loss of blood etc, I may need to do it sooner while I have the better insurance. UGH. Then was back at work and on the phone by 8:30 where I spent the entire day dealing with issues. Solve one and find 2 more......never ending cycle and just very frustrating. Just actually finished working now and that's only because I can no longer see straight looking at the computer. Talked to my boss late afternoon and told him I want a confirmed end date for work. Just done with all this crap. The big boss wants us all to go on the same day which would be end of May. My boss told her NO on that for me because I won't have time to train people so it's looking more and more like my end date will be June 30th.

So, tomorrow mornng I'm going to put together an email with my boss with a tentative plan to turn over several of my upcoming projects now. Starting May 1st I will need to start cleaning up my documents, turning over projects and start training the other guy. (I think my headache is getting worse). ha ha ha ha ha.

Ok, enough whinning from me. So sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to everyone but hope you are all doing well.

Maryanne

Holleeho - Easter is ONE day and ONE meal. Do the best you can but most certainly enjoy the day. Then get right back on track and you'll be fine........ :)

Hi Holleeho!
Do the moderation thing, but make sure you enjoy yourself too. Remember, family is the bestest thing ever, even when they're sometimes a pain. emoticon You will be successful, just remember that.

Monday, done and gone. Praise be!
Just got home from the gym, burned a ton of calories and now must feed myself as I am famished! My mother would say I was wasting away to a ton. LOL

Have a great evening!

So I am trying to have a quiet evening last night when my Dad called and he was throwing up
not sure what he ate or if he had a bug but went over and gave him some Emetrol and then stayed up past 2 AM to make sure he was ok - THEN up at 8 Am when Ross was up and over to check on my Dad

took Colie to the cardiologist today - as we knew his weight was up - his lungs are clear from the cold something I was concerned about - he is pre-diabetic -

Dawn you will understand this more than the rest of us fasting sugar was 113 and his A1C was 6.3 up from 6. from September -

The cardiologist said with ALL the walking we are NOW doing on a regular basis and he told Colie when your wife says that is it or only half when you eat out SHE KNOWS PORTION control - as you know somehow Colie gained 15 pounds from Thanksgiving to the New Year and I dropped - now I ate my cookies and he ate less than I did BUT I think he nibbled away at work

The cardiologist would like to see him drop 10 pounds by September - a very DOABLE number I might add

WE BOTH DROPPED FOUR POUNDS this month!!! YIPEE and we still have one more weigh in to go!!

Everything else is JUST fine with the cardiologist. We both see our PCP in May and I would LOVE to have that last few pounds i have to drop me under 200 BUT I will take whatever drop I get and be HAPPY - my jeans are now loose on me and I do not have a very large muffin top at all a small minor one YIPEE

So it is what it is and we move on

I'm a little nervous about Easter. My mom wants it to be special and for her that usually means overfeeding and extra special (aka fattening) stuff. She has the will power of Gandhi and has never been very overweight. I will have been at this SP for only seven weeks when I go there (NH) and I am not sure how to approach this. Should I save some calories for the big meal or what? I have lost 13 pounds and do not want to backtrack but so far, I have prepared all my meals.

Laura,

You sound a little low dearie. Get some rest. Maybe take a flexeril and have a good night's sleep. Everything looks so much worse when we're tired. Kid tension can be the most deflating kind of tension there is and everyone who has kids goes thru it. We're not living in a "Leave It to Beaver" world here.

I don't see why the church wouldn't offer you that position. The salary isn't what they'd have to pay a licensed teacher so, why not. I mean, what do you have to lose by applying?

Went for a walk with Biz after church. It wasn't quite 4 miles. She was very determined to stick to one hour and to not do any running so, I just hung with her. Who knows, maybe I need the break from my usual break neck routines. I still have laundry to do and I had to take care of chickens and cats and cat boxes and put away the groceries so, I think the little 3.76 mile walk was good enough for today. Gosh, maybe I'm turning into a wimp!

Rebecca, that's really cool that you got to watch that bowl being made and then he just GAVE it to you. Wasn't that nice? Lambs? Oh, I loooove lambs. What fun you all had. I'd say you had a really great day.

Well, you all sleep tight. I'll let you all know what the mighty physicians say tomorrow. Uggh.

Afternoon team

Did not sleep well last night at all - there was some tension over budgets with Ross and I would LOVE to say he is my child when it comes to budgeting BUT alas he is DEFINITELY NOT - LOVE Colie for telling him - this is what it is and this is what you have to do - WE get paid first!! He is almost through paying his loan to us that started OH GOSH when he moved to New York and new jersey so it HAS to be paid before he gets married

My jaw was bothering me too so I had the heat pack on it for 30 minutes when I laid down - it helped me fall asleep - could have been carrying SO many bags yesterday - Christina's mom called while we were going over her registry list and I told her WE are having a bridal shower NOW - haha - she took the stuff back home to her house -

We had 10 kids this morning for our Junior Church program and they had so much fun and it was great for me too I love working with them

Seems someone donated money for a Children's program director or leader to our church - about $15K for a year of part time work - the Christian Ed committee and personnel committee will be drawing up a job description and then hiring for September 2013 to June 2014 - it is only for a year position - the church cannot afford a person on a regular basis unless we get more people donating - ANYHOW praying about whether or not I should apply for the job? Am I qualified not with a degree but with over 35 years of experience volunteering etc. We shall see

Dawn - yes those hens can be bullies too - thanks for the support about the dress

Yes Maryanne I will find a dress when I need to -

Feel really tired and a bit punky HOPE and pray I am not coming down with what Colie has - WHO by the way sounds better today

Hugs to all

laura

Dawn- I'm sad to say I don't know how the neighbor's kids are doing. Their dad posted they are coping better than he is though so I guess that's good. The memorial service isn't until March 30th. Tanya's sister is going to make a book of Tanya's blog and have it published. She said copies will be about $20. I will buy one I guess. There is some pretty poetry in there. I told my husband I will go to the service alone next Saturday if I can. It's at a butterfly place.

We watched a man make a beautiful cherry bowl on a lathe while we were at the farm. He messed it up, but made a smaller one, and kept going. When it was all done he GAVE it to us! We were stunned. We weren't the only ones watching either. In the farm store those bowls sell for a LOT of money. He told us how to take care of it and he put some oil on it. We won't use it right away of course, but it is BEAUTIFUL!!!

We never got to the egg coloring because we were watching him. Abby did the egg hunt and we saw all the baby lambs and everything though so that was good. Then we drove all the way to Holyoke for Red Robin for lunch. Did not go to Barnes & Noble or anywhere else, just came straight home. Saved a few dollars I guess! My gas tank wasn't happy with driving all the way to Holyoke just for lunch, but my wallet was happy that we didn't go shopping.

Laura- good luck with the dress shopping. Hope Colie is feeling better.

Dawn- Hang in there.

Maryanne- Enjoy!

Hey all,

Just a quick one here. Laura, I think Maryanne is right, you'll find the right dress soon. There's this little shop on Court St here in Plymouth that I found my dress in for my son's wedding. I just happened to pop in there b/c I had never been in there and there was this dress. I loved it immediatly and it was a little on the pricey side but, Bobby told me to get it anyways. So I did. It was perfect for me and the color was fantastic and it was comfortable. I got more comments on that dress that day and I never expected for anyone to like the dress but me! You'll find the right dress. Just keep looking.

Maryanne, the term "pecking order" comes from the behaviors my girls are displaying. She was Indy's favorite so, I was expecting it and it happened. It's not as bad as it could be though b/c she can run really fast. I just have to spend more time out there with them for awhile until they settle down a bit. I have been spending time out there but, I'm limited b/c of the weather. I was out there for 2 hrs yesterday. I did end up cleaning the coop and the run. I had to hack and dig out the wet, compacted hay that was layering the run. Thank God I'm in shape b/c I never could have finished the job if I wasn't. There were so many layers of old, wet hay in there. I have been doing quick cleaning jobs all winter and only getting the wet hay that was laying on top. Underneath was a whole lot of layers that were frozen all winter and have finally thawed. Ugggh. That was work out enough for me.

Maryanne, enjoy your day with your friend/family. It sounds like fun to me. Sorry your food wasn't too good.

Bobby and I went to Rye Tavern last night. I had scallops and salad. I ate about 1/2 of my rizzotto and we had a few bites of key lime pie. It was good but, of course, the weight was UP this morning. Going for a long walk with Biz, my daughter, later today. She wants to walk for at least an hour. So, no treadmill but, maybe I can convince her to do some intervals while we're out there.

Tomorrow I see both of my docs. Can't wait for that.

I will talk to you all later. Everyone have a good day. I really am praying we don't get any snow tomorrow.

Morning all,

Ok, I am SO tired and the day is just starting.......... Worked yesterday morning and then met up with my friend. Her two groups were awesome and they both won. Went out for dinner (food was disappointing) and had tons of laughs. Just a lot of fun but I didn't get home till after 10:00 last night and then did not sleep well. Really hoping a nice hot shower will do the trick this morning. Heading into the Boston Opera House around 11:30ish to see the Boston Ballet and then out for an early dinner.

Dawn - that's terrible about the bullying that goes on with the chicks. It's really not much different then with humans how for, whatever reason, someone can be singled out and picked on. I hope she's ok and then eventually leave her alone. How many do you have in total? Is that something that normally happens?

Laura - glad you had such success at the outlets. Sorry you didn't find a dress but you will! The perfect one will be waiting for you somewhere........just have to sniff it out. :) Sorry Colie is still feeling so crappy. He needs to rest and I agree with you. Just stop all activities till he's feeling better. My sister in law was just telling me she's had a miserable cold for 2 weeks and still has the nagging cough.

Ok, I seriously need a shower to wake myself up.

Have a good day all.

Maryanne

Evening all

Shopping for Ross and Christina's kitchen stuff was a HUGE success at the outlet malls. Alas no dress for me

Colie still miserable. I so wanted him to stay home yesterday from work and he wanted to go with me today and help. He is in bed now. Told him he was not going to church tomorrow AND work on Monday. He has a cardiology appointment at 3 so he can just stay home and get ready for that!! We both have meetings at church on Tuesday night.

I have an Easter Egg hunt and other great things planned for Junior Church so I need to go out in the AM.

Have a nice night all

Hey all,

I'm with everyone here. I am thoroughly sick of this winter weather. I keep a journal and this time last year I was in t-shirts. It was warm and I started my yard work early. This year the yard is a total mess. It's going to take hours and hours to get it cleaned up and I obviously can't get started on it now. The snow isn't completely melted! Ugggh.

My hens are ok but, Indy's favorite hen is getting picked on. She is missing a number of feathers on her wings and was bleeding last night so, we caged her and brought her in for the night. I am treating the area. I will have to put her back out in a bit but, I wanted to give her a little break, treat the area and feed her. Those girls don't let her eat and she's really hungry. It's heart breaking b/c when Indy was around he didn't let anyone pick on her. So, you see, he was good for something.

Maryanne, that is one looooong day you had there yesterday. It's a wonder you're even up and functional today. I'm with you about all of our folks that are MIA. I am really missing Amy a whole lot and think about her so often. I hope all is going well for her.

Cathy, it sounds like you had the ideal birthday. Good friends and good food. You can't beat that.

Rebecca, the farm sounds like so much fun. It's chilly out there today though. It's good the hunt is in the barn b/c I think it would be too cold otherwise. In any case, enjoy the day. How are your neighbor's kids doing after losing their mom?

I don't have any big plans for today. I was going to clean the coop and run but it's so cold and windy out there that I don't think I'll do it today. I see that we're forecasted for more snow on Monday. I'm just going to pray that forecast out to sea....please and thank you God. So, other than taking care of my animals and working out it's going to be a fairly sedate day here at my house. I'll take it.

Have a good day all,

Dawn

Morning all,

Wow yesterday was one very long day. Worked my regular job from about 7-3 and then left here at 3:00 to do a catering job and got home at 1:15! Then had a 45 minute meeting with my lead guy at work (yes at 1:15 in the morning)! This guy is a super star for the work he does.... The catering job was a benefit and they had a great crowd and raised lots of money so it was well worth it. Also enabled me to pocket some extra cash to set aside for my trip to Old Orchard in July! :) Working right now for a few hours and then heading out to a Color Guard competition to watch my friends group compete. Then out for a nice relaxing dinner. Oh and tomorrow I'm heading to the Boston Opera House to see the ballet 'Sleeping Beauty'! Got the tickets for my cousin as a Christmas gift. I'm still not a huge fan but she just loves it! So that means a lovely trip to Flemings afterwards (it's a matinee) for dinner! Yummm

Sue - ugh, I am looking in my crystal ball and I predict loooooong hours coming up for you with that inspection!

Cathy - that is SO cool - sounds like a perfect day........glad you enjoyed every minute of it

Rebecca - sounds like a fun day at the farm. Hope you are feeling better?

Laura - hope Collie is feeling better. You gave me a great idea for today......I think I'll switch to my smaller bag to take instead of lugging this big thing with me.

Dawn - how are the pampered chicks doing? They must be as sick of this cold weather as we are.......... How's work going? Same crap different day type deal?

WHERE IS BERNICE! I think I might have to pop over to her page and scold her for not checking in. Hmmmm, come to think of it, time to check in on Tina and Amy too..........miss seeing them on the chat. Hopefully Tina's pregnancy is going well and our girl Amy is feeling good and getting better.

Ok, need to wrap up what I'm doing here for work and then jump in the shower and get ready.

Enjoy your Saturday everyone.

Maryanne

Morning all!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I could not have asked for a better birthday. Spent it with a few friends who I have been close to for the last 44 years or so. And 2 were a surprise to me! Had no idea they would be there. You can't beat spending time with people who have stuck by you through the best and worst of times. I ate to my content and am now paying the price, but I allowed myself so I'm not in a funk over it.

Sorry to hear Sue is stressing so. Work can rule our lives so.
Dawn, your girls have a fabulous advocate in their corner and if anyone can make it work, I have a feeling it's you.
Rebecca, I'm with you. Looking forward to an end to this cold. The news said last year at this time it was around 70!

Gotta fly for now, hope you all have a sparktastic Saturday!

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. ~Winston Churchill

What am I doing, going back in time? Just read my post from yesterday and I said I'm looking forward to FEBRUARY! DUH!! Obviously I meant APRIL. LOL!

Laura- I have my cell phone, keys, and chapstick in my front pockets. :-)

Taking Abby to an Easter Egg hunt at a farm today. We went last year. They hide the eggs in a barn filled with sawdust and the kids dig them out. It's pretty easy but it's fun. It will be crowded. We will see farm animals, and maybe decorate an egg or something. It is all free. The farmers do it for the community every year. Love it. It's Diamand Egg Farm. You used to be able to buy their eggs in the local grocery stores but federal regulations changed so they have diversified and make their farm income in other ways now.

Anyway, should be a good morning. Not sure what we are doing after that. Maybe going to Keene for lunch. We shall see.

Rebeccama - I actually can carry that in my front pocket of my jeans or in my inside jacket pocket - my neck and shoulders have their issues from the cancer treatment so this is JUST the best I can do for them - my little purses actually have a spot for cell phones too way cool

Dawn - you do spoil your "girls" for sure

Maryanne - how are things going? Don't let them work you to DEATH before they let you go!!

Sue - working in your field can be exhausting - it is hard dealing with all the issues your clients have and then it is an emotional drain on you as well

Dawn- Procedure is colonscopy. Not sure if I am spelling it right, but no thank you!!!

Laura- I am very bad about putting my cards & cash in my back pocket lately. Yes my shoulder loves it, but it is such a mess and sometimes I drop things that way and it is embarrassing. Right now I have it down to my work ID and my debit card & a few spare dollars. It was getting bad there for a while though. With the elbow hurting I didn't want to carry anything and it just kept migrating into that right rear pocket. Good thing I live in jeans I guess.

Anyone get Powerball tickets? I heard it is up pretty high. I haven't gotten any yet, but hubby put a couple of dollars into an office pool.

Okay, it's Friday. Yay! Let's do this! One more week of March and then my kick-butt February kicks in. Let's do this! Summer will be here before we know it.

Sue,

So sorry you are feeling stressed and burned out. That's the kind of emotional drain that will set you up for the kind of eating that happened today. But, I think we all have to have days where we return to old eating habits to remember why we don't miss being like that anymore. It's ok. You know better and you know how to make good choices. You'll be back on target tomorrow. And we're all here for you so, hang in there love.

Good evening,
What a day. Very stressful at work. Never thought today was going to end. Wanted to jump out a 1st floor window and run emoticon . I will be glad when Saturday comes have 3 days off. We have a huge state inspection in May and we are already feeling the crunch to get things done. Starting to burn out. My food choices went down. Went back to an old habit of emotional eating. Not happy about it. I know tomorrow is another day...

Hope everyone has a good night.

Hey all,

I just read the posts. Funny how one little purse party could "spark" such conversation. Sue, I wouldn't have spent that on a purse either. I do carry everything but the kitchen sink in my purse but I have gotten better over the years.

Laura, I'm not understanding why Colie is having such a hard time getting a cards consult. I thought he had a cards doc. Well, you know what I say about the squeaky wheel getting the oil! Good job on the weight loss and the hard work you've been doing. I'm sure you have gained some muscle with all of the shoveling.

I did read the article about the guy who had all of his chicks stolen. That's a lot of chicks to have go missing. I can't imagine trying to take care of that many but, he lives on a farm and that's what he does. So, somebody stole his livelyhood. Shame on them. I'm sure his aren't the pampered pets mine are. I had a guy at Stoppies tell me that my hens are spoiled. He mentioned the corn on the cob I was buying and I told him it was for my chickens, as was the carton of raisins. His eye brows flew to the top of his head and he said, "wow, those are some spoiled hens". Well, that's why I have them, to spoil them:) I thoroughly enjoy it.

Rebecca, I hope you are feeling better soon honey. UMMM, what "procedure" do we allll have to have when we hit 50? I am 52 and I haven't had any procedures. Some changes starting to happen, thank God but, no procedures.

Maryanne, you most certainly will NOT be carrying a paper bag for a purse after this job ends. I think you're going to do just fine. You have so much support and you are so smart. I think you're going to be much more happy.

Well, I want to go let my pampered hens out. It's snowing but it's just light snow for now so that won't bother them at all. The kids come for dinner tonight and that means utter chaos here. I love it.

Who mentioned a noreaster??? Gahhhhhhhhh, please say it isn't so.

Cathy, happy birthday honey. I hope you have a wonderful day and you get to eat cake and sing and have fun.

Have a great night all,

Dawn

Have had a couple of quiet days -

Worked on the wedding budget and plans for the kids - I lay it all out there in an email like a checklist for them to go over - called DirecTV to see what it would cost to add one more receiver in the house for their "family room or living room" one they decide which room they will use here at the house

Having trouble getting confirmation of a referral for Colie for his cardiologist I have called THREE times and today I said CALL by noon and confirm or I will be talking to the President of the hospital it should not take THAT long to get a referral

Dentist visits went well last night - no issues although my jaw will not forgive me and I am happy to say I have a massage in about an hour - 90 minutes - I have decided that I am scheduling one EVERY three weeks - I cannot function at 4 and with all the shoveling lately I certainly can use it! they are talking 2-4 tonight! And if they mention Nor'easter on Monday one more time I am going to scream!

GOOD NEWS IS I am back down to my 208 that I started out with in January - think with all the ice skating and shoveling my weight bounced up to 212 and just stayed there so with the MUCH increased walking I think I have broken the barrier

Colie has a miserable cold and I told him he is NOT walking today so I am going to head out earlier for my massage and zig zag along and make it a longer walk

Have a great day all - our skies are clouding over OH WELL spring will SPRING OUT soon I hope

Cathyrose - in Ireland they use boiling bacon and the best way to describe that is to say it looks like a pork loin roast

Sue - wow $80 for a bag I remember one time I was looking for a brown bag and my husband picked up one and said this is perfect for you and I said YES IT IS can I buy it? (he was in the coach section) think he just about fainted when he saw the price of $450!

Maryanne - I am not carrying a paper bag so you wont either BUT I must say I have gone to a small bag that looks like a wallet and when shopping everything in a small simple credit card carrier that fits in my jean pockets must admit my neck and shoulders LOVE that

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHY ROSE

Dawn - saw a news story that someone stole some guys chicks he was selling and laughed and thought of you - poor guy ALL of them gone - he posted on craigslist

Wow Sue! $80 for a pocket book? Yeah... I guess I can't see it either. My husband is the bag collector in our house. There is a little purse at Payless Shoes that I want for $14.99 but I haven't bought it yet. Hubby loves Timbuk2 and other bag companies though. $80 is nothing. He wants some that are $300, not that he gets them but he wants them....

Maryanne- Good luck with work today.

Cathy- Happy Birthday!

I am actually dreading the big 5-0 because of the "procedure" that everyone has to have at that age. That scares me to death for some reason. Just really do not want that ever!!

I didn't make it to the candlelight vigil last night for my neighbor. I had taken Tuesday off from work for the snow day my daughter had and I wasn't feeling well. Couldn't QUITE make it through a full day of work yesterday either. Left a little early and picked Abby up from after-school a little early. Told hubby what was going on and he surprised me by coming home early. I went to bed around 4:30pm. Attempting work and breakfast this morning. Will see how the day goes.

Cathy - Happy Birthday and welcome to the club!!!!!

Sue - I can spend large sums of money on a lot of things but for some reason I too have an issue spending that much on a bag that I am going to just dump crap in and drag around with me......... ha ha ha ha ha - once I lose my job I may be carrying a paper bag around!

Got a few things done yesterday but still facing a lot of issues at work.......hoping today will be a better day.

Have a good day all.

Good evening team. Hope everyone is well. I am so glad Danni won also. I am actually going to Hanover Theater in Worcester to see Jillian Michaels. Went to a party tonight called Miche. It was a pocket book party. My husband was very impressed I didn't spend a dime. LOL. Couldn't see the point of spending $80 dollars on a purse. Hope everyone has a good night.

Hi Team!

Sounds like everyone has been busy doing one thing or another this week - and yes, cleaning up after yet ANOTHER snow fall. I've about had it, as I am sure you are all thinking.

Dawn - corned beef and cabbage is a staple for St. Patrick's Day around here. LOL But, if you don't eat red meat that could be problematic. It's representative a boiled dinner in Ireland. I don't think they used brisket, probably a cheap cut of pork, threw it in a pot w/potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage and boiled the heck out of it. It is a poor man's stew basically. It has become something yummier over the years.

Tonight is my last as a 49 year old. When I awake in the AM, the big 5-0 will be upon me. Just so you all know, it's no big deal. Just another birthday. One of my oldest and bestest friends is taking me out after work. She turned 50 on March 10th. I always tease her about being older than me.

The Biggest Loser - I also rooted for Danni the whole season. They all looked fab and it was definitely the best season yet. The one I'm heading at work is underway. One weigh in so far, we'll see how it goes.

Hope everyone has a good evening and a good tomorrow. Just got home from the gym and am STARVING!
Ciao for now!
Cathy

I went out and shoveled last night at 7:30pm. Hubby had done some but not behind my car and I needed to be sure I could get to work this morning. So broken elbow or not the job needed to get done. I thought I was going to puke when I was finished though.

We had snow, then rain, and then more snow so it was very heavy and wet shoveling.

Hubby came home from work with boneless wings. We ate dinner and then he went out again (he teaches Tuesday nights). So when I was shoveling he wasn't home to stop me. I will say I am so sick from this cold that I did not finish my supper. I had a couple of pieces and then put the rest in the refrigerator. Did not eat the full meal I tracked myself for and actually went under my calories for the day. That is rare for me.

There is a candlelight vigil tonight at 7:30pm for my neighbor. I do not know if I will go or not.

I saw some headlines about BL I guess, but I don't watch tv so I didn't read the whole story. Looks like there have been some wonderful success stories though.

Maryanne- UGH on the job stuff! My husband is a programmer so I get where you are coming on some of that stuff. Very frustrating.

Ok... I have a lot to do. Better crack to it.

I have heard rumors of more snow too. Hoping we don't get it.

Morning all,

I so agree Dawn!!!! That Bingo was just so stinking cute! I was just floored when Danni walked out.........the best part is she doesn't look sickly skinny like past contestants! She just looks unbelievable! So happy for her too............. LOVE that Jillian basically lost her entire team except Danni and bam bam........winner......... Pink rules again!

Ok, off and running - just had a call with my team in India and happy to report there was NO progress made on the issues last night and my team is still in a holding pattern........going to be yet another long day at work.

Have a good day all

Maryanne

Maryanne,

They call me Jillian at work b/c I am such a BL junkie. I have been routing for Danni alllll season. This was THE best season they have had in a very long time and I am sad to see it end. Happy for all of the contestants though b/c they all did so well. The families got on board and lost weight and there was no game play or viciousness. It was just what BL is all about and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. They REALLY turned it around from that horror show of a season it was that last season. I felt like I was watching Jersey Shore or something. Horrible. I wrote to NBC last season about my disappointment and I wasn't the only one. And, I see that I am not the only one to have chimed in this season either so, hopefully we will be heard. All of the kid embassadors did a great job and I was happy for them.

So glad to have someone else that watches and likes the show. I don't watch too many things but, good, bad or ugly, I watch the Biggest Loser every single time.

Evening all........another very long day at work. Many many issues and it seems just as one gets resolved, two more crop up. The bottom line is the contracting time was in no way qualified to take on this project. Does management care? Nope, why should they? Win win for them..........they make a huge mistake but the idiots (us) work around the clock to meet the deadline and get it all done so management will ONCE AGAIN come out smelling like a rose. And for people like me, we have NO choice because at any given second they can decline the severance package they are giving me. So whatever.......now just getting thru each day knowing I'm one step closer to the end of this job.

Rebecca - I am SO sorry to hear about your neighbor - just a very sad story. Prayers to her family for the pain they are enduring right now.

Laura - oh my, eventful morning for you with the shoveling and cars.......your dad reminds me of the neighbor next door - 84 and races out there to shovel etc....... I have to actually set an alarm on snow mornings to make sure I can get out before him and get the walkways cleared up. It was some heavy snow out there too! When will it be enough already???

Dawn - it takes a while to get over something like that and glad you are doing ok. Glad that the 'girls' are coping too but not happy the little ones are still getting picked on. Hmmmm, you will have to have a stern talk with those older gals and tell them to cut it out! As for the corned beef and cabbage - I'm with you.......... I had a delicious cheeseburger on St Patty's Day! HA HA HA HA.

Ok, thirteen hours in front of this computer has been long enough today. Sigh, my first call tomorrow is in 10.5 hrs. Ouch.

Have a good night all

Maryanne

P.S. That blueberry muffin sounds SO good right now...........

OH OH OH - does anyone here watch Biggest Loser???? OMG I was SO shocked when I saw Danni - she just looked incredible!!!!!!!!

Hey all,

Just read thru all of the posts but, my memory isn't as good as Maryanne's so I probably won't be able to respond to every thing.

First though, Rebecca, so sorry to hear about your neighbor. She fought a good fight. I hope her children will be ok. Hard for her husband too. Also, sorry to hear that your mom didn't like her gift. I'm kind of surprised she would actually say that to you. That must have hurt.

Maryanne, OOB was just the ticket for you huh? Good. Sometimes a little distance is just what we need.

Laura, I think you have done more shoveling this winter than anyone here. I haven't shoveled at all!!! Ummm, I'm not complaining, trust me. Good job on all of the walking. That's the kind of work out I like. So sorry to hear about the church break in. It's a really low sort of earth worm that would break into a church like that. Really low.

Sue, I love the Harlem Globe Trotters. Like nearly everyone else here, I saw them when I was a kid. They are amazing aren't they? Glad to see you getting back into the running.

Cathy, how was your dinner the other night? It sounded good. I found it kind of strange that everyone at work asked me if I had my corn beef and cabbage on St. Patty's day. Are we SUPPOSED to eat corned beef and cabbage? I don't eat red meat so, that could be a problem. I mean, I'm part Irish so I guess I should know but, I have never cooked corned beef and cabbage....and it doesn't sound too good to me.

Laura, my hens seem to be adapting. The little ones are getting picked on terrible so I'm spending more time with them and making sure they get food and treats. Violet flew up and sat on my shoulder yesterday. She hasn't done that for a very long time. I'm trying to stay on the positive side of losing Indy. I'm still sad but, I'm hoping that things will be ok here. The people from Farm Sanctuary sent me an email in response to an email I sent them letting them know what happened. They apologized and said they would put the occurrence in their files so that they would take careful consideration before recommending Nevins again. It made me feel a little better that they acknowledged that less than 24 hrs wasn't enough time for "behavior modification".

Well, I've been sitting here far too long. I have to get laundry done and go to the store. That ought to be a lot of fun in this weather. Even the hens are staying in their coop!

I hope you are all warm and dry....and happy.

Have a wonderful day.

OK I was up at 5 AM and shoveled our front walks off and most of the cars dug out within 90 minutes, came in changed my soaking wet clothes and put jammies on watched TV then slept another hour, got up at 9 AM, put on dry clothes and headed out and shoveled a pathway in the backyards, cleared the decks and had wished I had done it at 5 AM because this snow was heavier and wetter BUT I got it done!! Then I finished up cleaning the cars so my Dad figures he will start his and I said leave it to me to back it up in awhile - I want to clean off my car first - so I guess he did not hear me, I moved my car and he just did not look or pay attention and backed HIS car RIGHT into my mine! Thank God I was NOT in it but I was shoveling behind it so that was scary. He got out and said What did I do and I said You are not hearing well or listening - the cars are OK but please let me move them around! THANKING GOD I did not get upset and yell at him but this is becoming a pattern of not listening and Colie and I think it is either his hearing or short term memory. It happened last night at dinner too - thanking God for Colie who is my rock because I tend to cry once Dad goes - as you know my sisters are not around so they do not see this in action and it is hard on me - THANK GOD I BEAT HIM OUT TO SHOVEL for sure!!! Anyhow he has a great spot on the street and can move in and out easily and I have all the snow cleared away for him - I have a great spot too - FIGURE if Ross wants Christina to have my offstreet parking THEY can shovel the snow back or go in my Dad's garage I AM NOT DOING THAT! When it warms up it will be gone! BUT now they are talking about 1-3 Thursday night! UGH UGH UGH

WELL I did something I usually do not do eating wise - I put a pot of coffee on while I was shoveling the 2nd time and when I came in there were beautiful blueberry muffins on the counter that we got Ross for work and he only took 2 - I picked up and looked at the nutritional label and said AW HECK an hour of snow shoveling burns off these calories and had a DELICIOUS muffin with my coffee!! YUMMY and I am NOT going to make cookies today either I am just tired from shoveling - my arms hurt!

Dental appointments tomorrow night for cleaning - ah the JOYS of life -
MASSAGE on Thursday which is perfect to counteract the snow shoveling AND my jaw muscles from the teeth cleaning!

Thinking of heading down to Wrentham outlet mall Williams Sonoma outlet has a HUGE sale this weekend and I am putting together Ross and Christina's kitchen stuff - she has some stuff on her list at Macy's/Target BUT said I am leaving a lot off and would it be too much to ask you to get what we will need for cooking and baking - I trust you because Ross' kitchen in his apartment had some of what he needed but when I look and work in your kitchen you have what you need and KNOW what we will need - SO I am pleased she asked!!

ANYONE know if I can get a dressy dress down there for my mother of the groom dress??
My sister said she would LOVE to take me dress shopping in June when my other sister is here WOULD LOVE to get my dress BEFORE that!

Stay safe out there!!

laura
