My husband always says " you have to have something to look forward to". This advice fits so many aspects of our lives but I really think it's important when your really working hard to attain a goal. Life is busy.... for everyone. That makes goals like working out on a regular basis, taking the time to cook and eat nutritious meals, getting enough sleep, etc. even tougher. When you start it's almost like another job. Having something to look forward to is like the carrot (no not chocolate cake) dangling in front of you to keep you going. I like to use small rewards on a weekly basis when I weigh in and bigger rewards when I hit certain goal markers I've set for myself. I find rewards (something to look forward to) really keep me going and if you're able to keep at your goals after awhile they don't seem like a job anymore. Eating better, working out, etc. just feel right. I love how I feel after just three and a half weeks of trying to eat healthier and workout regularily. I have more energy, I'm happier. I feel I Deserve a Treat and I can enjoy it with pride and without guilt.
