Did you know that more than 18 million runners will get injured this year, and the most common banged-up body part is the knees. I know this from experience cause I have had 3 knee surgeries. Tight hamstrings, repetitive high impact, and overtraining are the most common causes of knee trama and they all are preventable. Here's how STRECH IT OUT Inflexable hamstrings put an added stress on your knees. Do hamstring stretches every time you walk or run. REPLACE YOUR SNEAKERS Cushing wears out over a period of time, reducing its shock absorption. This is an easy fix. Buy a new pair if sneakers every 500 miles you run or walk. BUMB IT UP SLOWLY Increasing your milage too soon puts added tention on your knees. The easy fix increase your total distance by no more than 5 percent each week. One other thing. I know a personal trainer who will help me set up a walking bootcamp. If anyone is interested in this please let me know cause it will take some time getting the team set up with all the walking workouts. This will be an intence walking bootcamp so the only way I will set the team up is if I get enough people interested in it and I will be going on vaction in a couple of weeks.
