Hi,
I just found this group. I have the book, but haven't seriously worked with it. I'd like to start with the group on Oct. 4, or whenever that happens. I'll echo the sentiments of the other people, Mary. Sometimes life just happens, and we can't do everything and be everything to everyone. I also send my condolences for your loss. Both of my parents are gone, and it's just a loss that you cope with, but you are never the same again. I'm just looking forward to starting with all of you and going forward from here. I need to do something because I have 170 pounds to lose, and I am totally miserable. Glad to know you all. Sue Ellen

I'm sorry for your loss, Mary. I lost my 90 year old mother-in-law in July, and know how hard it is even if it is expected.

I got another copy of the book and I'm ready to go.

Cindi,
Thank you for the words of encouragement.
Elisa..welcome to the group.

I will be posting team goals and on or near Oct. 4th. Hopefully we will hear from some other or new members before then, but if not, we'll get started anyway. I will try to design our goals so people can join in at any time and still get the most out of the groups input...try!
Thanks again.
Chat with you soon,
Mary

Hi,
Don't be too hard on yourself. This is a time to be gentle with yourself and grieve. Doing the book and the morning pages can help you with your grief process. There has been studies of people going through various crisis and it has been found that those who journal or are part of a group do better and cope better than those who don't. So, lets get started, but don't feel like you have to do all the work. We can discuss, you just need to give us the framework of how the team works. Give us some things to get started and prod us with new things periodically. The team will be okay. And let us be there for you.
Cindi

Hi,

I'm brand new to Spark as well as your Spark Team. I'm looking forward to getting into the book as well as figuring out this program! :)

Sorry to hear about your in-laws and the struggles you've had lately. :( Look forward to hearing from you again!

Hello Team Members,
I just wanted to take a minute to say I am sorry for what would appear to be a lack of commitment and leadership for our team. It is not for lack of want, I assure you. We (my husband and I) have suffered a tremendous loss. First my mother in law passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in December. My father in law was devastated by the loss of his beloved wife of over 60 years. His Alzheimer's progressed rapidly and sadly, last Friday, he passed away. They are two of the most loving people I have ever known and their absence from my life has left a deep, deep void (that sadly I have been filling, or trying to fill with food, shopping and a host of other addictive behaviors...none of which include healthy food choices, exercising or taking care of business)!
Again, let me say that I am sorry. I intend to get this group rolling on this book soon. With your patience and indulgence, I am suggesting we shoot for an Oct. 4th start date. That gives everyone a chance to find the book, if they don't already have it plus it will give my husband and I time to resolve personal business.
What do you think? How many people are interested in starting this book Oct. 4th. Perhaps a chapter every two weeks with posts/discussions on the 15th and 30th of each month...of course you can chime in any time in between those dates as well!
Let me know, and again, my apologies.
Sincerely,
Mary
