Thanks Kathy. When I had the MRI I was immediately sent for final tests before surgery. My doctor and the neurosurgeon both could not believe that I was walking and functioning as well as I was because the spinal cord was bent, pinched and had no fluid around a portion of it. The symptoms they said I should exhibit I didn't but I am now a year later so I am hoping that the lower vertebrae have not compressed the cord again. Or maybe I'm hoping they have so I can get it fixed!. emoticon

Hang in there someday they will not only figure out what is going on in Fibro but how to treat it.

It may actually be the case, spinal injuries are a royal pain, literally! I was having some issues and my doctor did an MRI--I had a "cervical radiculopathy" --basically, a herniated disk--in my neck, But the person who "read" the test results said that it wouldn't cause any significant symptoms. So... why did I have the MRI??? LOL

I hope you find some answers. It isn't easy...

Funny you should mention diabetic neuropathy because I am diabetic. I also do PT exercises almost daily. Sounds like we are in the same row boat.

I am currently having test done and if necessary will see my neurologist. I had full body analysis last year because of a spinal cord issue and every thing was okay except my hands which were nerve damaged by the spinal cord issue and unfortunately were too far gone to repair themselves.

I really am hoping it is related to my neck/spinal cord and can be fixed. I have adjusted to living with the fibro pain, still struggle with the fibro fog and I would hate to have to live with this from now on.

For me, its start slow and increase slower... LOL
I do PT exercises six days a week. If I miss a day, it gets SO hard, SO fast, its kind of scary!...

The symptoms you're describing sound to me very much like the diabetic neuropathy I deal with on top of the fibro. Tricky stuff. You should get a referral to a neurologist for some quick testing... there are specific exercises that can help with retraining the nerve and muscle for optimum function. PLEASE, do it asap. You don't want it to go too long or muscles will atrophy and make things that much harder!

Voice of experience!... LOL

I hear you. I am also diabetic trying to keep my weight down. Exercise is not on my agenda often because of the fibro but I have been doing stretches and slow walking on the treadmill following my PT's advice. But as soon as I start doing them every day it seems I either get new symptoms or a flare. Sometimes you can't win for losing.

Thanks for the reply I was hoping it wasn't only me.

Hi Gail,
I too have similar problems. I can not figure out what causes it or why/when it happens. I am very big into tracking my symptoms and what is going on in my life... nutrition, stress, sleep. I try and slow down that day. It is so frustrating especially when I am trying to lose weight.

Hello, I am new and I have a question.

Lately I have had the strange sensation in my arms and legs. It is not a pain but like they are not my limbs. I feel like I have to think hard to make them work right and sometimes they don't respond exactly like I think they should. Holding a pile of magazines and my arms and they just let go or walking and my legs suddenly feel like noodles or like they weigh a thousand pounds. The other sensation is a tingling on my right side from shoulder to nec and down a few inches.

Does any of this sound familiar to any of you?

Gail
