My husband is trying, but when he gets worked up sometimes it gets me worked up and our two work-ups are COMPLETELY different...he can get mad, angry, or frustrated and get over it, but I flare right up ANYTIME I get worked up, even over something small. I just have to separate his emotional reaction from mine....I can only let it touch me as much as I give into it. Thank goodness I realize I do have the power it's just not always easy.

Thanks for all your welcomes and encouragement! I feel like I already love this entire group!! I feel for each of you and I hope we can encourage, inspire, and inform each other throughout our journeys, and that we each find our SUPER STRENGTHS to minimize the pain & live happy, healthy lives!

I certainly hope that your husband found the article enlightening and will be more understanding in the future.

Hi and welcome to the team! It is nice to meet you and I look forward to getting to know you. I have had fibromyalgia for 24 years. Member I.M.Magic posted an article about fibro using spoons as an example. It helped my mom better understand what I go thru. If you can't find her post, you could always ask her for the link to the story. I was on Savella for awhile when it first came out. I didn't like it so my dr has me on Cymbalta now. And that works well for me. Anyway, I'm glad you found us and I wish you all the best on your journey here at Sparkpeople.

My goodness....I am a newcomer to Spark (well, a returnee after 5 years away) and I have been in a real fog for the past few days...seems like no one really understands...my family thinks fibromyalgia is just the doctor's excuse for not really knowing what is wrong with me and my husband never takes my pain seriously. I know he could be more supportive, but I don't know how to make him understand why some days are wonderful and some are just crap! I have always been such a positive, motivated, organized person and my life has turned upside down over the last couple of years...I'm sure many of you have experienced the same kind of changes. I hate when no matter what I try to tell myself in my head, my body fights me every second. My doctor just put me on Savella about four weeks ago and I'm doing okay on it, but the lifestyle changes are a must. Is anyone else on Savella?
