Thanks for all the responses. I've tried to deny having fibro for years now. But when my chiropractor told me that there was little changes in my MRI on my neck and she just couldn't figure out why I was hurting so bad, I thought maybe Fibro was the cause. I will know more Tuesday when I go to the Neurosurgeon. I'm really hoping that he will refer me to pain clinic for the cortisone shot. I've had the shot before and it only gave me 3 months relief and said I wouldn't go through it again for such a small time frame of pain relief, but I'm ready for just 3 months if that is all I get.
I have a lot of neck pain and have had to go to physical therapy 3 times for it. Some of it is the arthritis while some is the fibro. It is hard to say which it is from. Since you also have degeneration of the spine in your neck it could be either but the arthritis most likely plays the biggest role. Are you seeing a Rheumatologist? I would suggest if you haven't to see one before you commit to a surgery.
I've not been diagnosed with Fibro, was just told they thought I might. I'm almost positive that I do with all the pain I have. Most of my tender spots are very tender. Anyway my question for you do any of you have neck pain. My right side of the neck is very tender and is hard to move in some directions. I've been doing therapy on it. Going to see Neurosurgeon Wednesday as I do have degenerating disc disease in my neck and spine. Though I have had the ddd for a long time and the MRI doesn't show much of a change not any that would be causing all my pain. Just curious.
