Well I have been on savella for 3 weeks now all I can say is I love it. I take them 12 hours apart and most days if I go longer or when its getting close to time for my next dose I start hurting some. I'm still not pain free still having trouble with my hips having pain in my fingers. If i Iw over do something physically it still bothers me but I stilll feel 85% better. I would recommmend it to everyone with fibro. I do think it is the answer to our prayers!!! Hope everyone has a great day !

I have been on Savella twice a day for a year and a half. I try to take my dises 12 hours apart. If I take it too late, the horrible foot pain comes right back and I know it's time to take it! I can't imagine going off it! It is the only treatment I have tried for fibro. My doctor was one who participated in the studies with his patients. After it was FDA approved, I was a new patient to him. We were trying to figure out what was going on with me. After many referrals to specialists and different tests, all negative, he said he wanted to try it. He felt that if it helped, we would have an accurate diagnosis. He said that it is specific for fibro, unlike all other meds used to treat it in the past, many being anti-depressants. In any case, it works for me! Good luck!

Well I survived the first week on savella. Didnt do bad. First three days I took in the mornings got the nausea and dizziness for a brief time. Also kind if irritable. Anyway a good friend told me to take at night worked really well. As far as the pain it got better a little each day. Friday and Saturday were awesome. Yesterday not so good woke up at 4am with awful leg pain and from there everything started aching and hurting. Even though I was hurting I had already promised my husband on Saturday that we would go dry land fishing on Sunday so I went it was awful still paying for it today. Anyway I suppose to start taking 2 Savella a day so getting ready to take my first dose for today so I guess I will have to go through the nausea again. But hopefully it will help me like it did last week. Im hoping I just over done on Friday and Saturday thats what caused me to feel bad on Sunday. I will try to keep you updated through the week. As for now I would recommend. Hope this help. Also on a good note I havent lose any weight this week but I do have a decreased appetite so keeping my fingers crossed.

SHELLE43-- I was on Savella for 5 years. I started in a drug study when it was going through FDA approval. I did pretty good on. The side effects of lightheadedness and nausea did subside after a few weeks. The dry mouth stayed. I had to go off of it because I became allergic to it. I wish I was still on it.
I hope you get relief from it. Good luck!

okay I'll let ya know IF I do them. Right now I've been to chiropractor who isn't cracking the bones but doing some light traction and some other stuff. Yesterday felt more relief than I've felt in a long time. I live in a real small town and would like to try some acupuncture however would have to go 100 mi. and with the price of gas etc. if I had to go very many times a week it just wouldn't work. I too am working on losing some weight as I know that would have to help. Congratulations on the weight you've lost so far, that's great! Well back to cleaning house then back to work tomorrow. I don't check in every day but I will definitely check back now that I have someone to share with. Have a good day.

Good luck with everything you decide to try it all sounds painful but I understand you hurt so bad your willing to try anything. Nerve injections just sound so painful but if it works let us know. I know how you feel you try one thing to feel better then it makes something else worse.
I will keep my fingers crossed that it works for you! I still haven't decided whether or not to do the nerve injections in my neck. I have a few weeks yet. Have thought about trying some accupuncture. I can't take alot of anti inflamatories as they make me so nauseauted and then i seem to swell up and itch. I swear, if anything can go wrong, it will with me! Sometimes I just gotta laugh. Have a good one

Well I didnt get started on Savella until today my pharmacy was out of it. Any way I ate a good breakfast thenI took it about 8:15 couldnt tell anything at first then after about an hour started feeling a little nausea and dizzy laid down for about 15 minutes feeling fine now as far as side effects go. As far as pain goes it has eased some but not totally my legs are stilling aching pretty bad pain in hands have eased up some. Ate lunch at 11:00 filled up fast. So far so good! Keep you posted!
my dr gave me a pack of savella to start but I haven't yet. I was given Cymbalta but had a reaction to it, filled up with fluid (9 lbs. in 2 days). Went to a pain clinic as it's getting to the point where I can't take the constant pain. They want to do a diagnostic nerve test where I would have to go 3 times and they inject pain medication into the neck area and I will have to keep a pain diary. If after the 3rd time it shows the pain has dimished then she said I would be a good candidate for a procedure where they go into the neck and burn the nerve. I'm scheduled to do this the end of March BUT still searching out other options. Has anyone ever had this done and if so, did it help? Thanks and have as good a day as possible.
"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm! P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!
Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL
Please let us know how you're doing on Savella. I'm on Cymbalta and have been for years. But lately it seems to have stopped working. I'm so tired and depressed most of the time. She's even increased my dosage, but that didn't work.
I'm thinking of asking my doctor if I could try Savella, but don't want to struggle through the same side effects again.

I've been taking Savella for awhile now and I have noticed a difference in my pain. I don't get that zombie affect from Savella like I do Cymbalta. For the first time since being on a medication I was actually able to enjoy Christmas, that had me sold. Normally Christmas has me depressed and avoiding people.
