I can't say that I've tried this because my doctor said that the side effects are worse than my pain...I have taken different natural supplements that have provided me relief of my pain and I was able to finish a foam run with no pain and able to move the next day! Also, I have used a hypnotizing sleep aid that provided me with the best nights sleep I've ever had...I do use ibuprofen though...only in extreme cases...blessings to you all!

I'm glad!
I can't take that either... emoticon
I gained 15 pounds in the two days I was on it and with my track record?... I thought my doctor was going to have a fit!...
*sigh*
Everything we tried just ended in the ER... so I'm stuck with Vicodin...

I've been using Lyrica for several years now and it really helps with muscle pain. Most of my pain was in my legs. They hurt 24 hours a day. Within 2 days all of my pain was gone. Even now, if I skip a dose, the ache starts to come back.

Couldn't use it at all, three reasons:
1. Severe nausea, and I'm diabetic...

2. Severe dizziness

3. My insurance wouldn't pay for it--and it's NOT cheap! LOL

I've been taking this for about 3 months now and it's like a wonder drug for me. Before I took it I had OB waking me up between 5 and 20 times a night. It was ruining my life. The first few days I took it I couldn't sleep at all but after about 4 days it settled down and I got the best sleep I'd had in a long time. Now I sleep most of the night, maybe waking one or two times. I don't notice a massive difference in joint pain but general muscle pain has definitely improved a lot.

Starting taking it two weeks ago, first week was horrible. Felt like electric current going thru my body. That is over, but still going to wait and see. I seem to have less pain, but came home from work today with a killer headache, must be getting a flare up.

I take Cymbalta, its doesnt take away the pain but it does dull it and helps me deal with it better. I have been on it now for over 2 years. I was taking 90 mg at bedtime because the side effects seemed to be better taking it than. I just bumped it up to 60 mg in the morning and 60 mg in the evening and seem to be doing fine.

I've been on Cymbalta for about 9 months. I had a rough time the first few days. Really made me feel like my thoughts and emotions weren't my own...but I spoke to my Dr. who asked me if it was possible to hang in there, and I did, and am glad I did. Eventually I felt like myself again, just without as much pain -- not pain free but certainly functionally achy rather than painfully prone! I take celebrex in the AM and Cymbalta in the PM. I also seem able to deal with the pain emotionally a bit better - no longer get down because of it, just cope and go on, a little slower, but still chugging along.

I am taking Cymbalta for both depression and FM pain. I began taking Cymbalta abt 4 months ago and experienced pain relief within a week. Sometimes what happens with anti depressants is that it makes one feel 'flat', devoid of emotion which is what happened to me. The MD reduced the dosage and within a week the FM pain was back with a vengeance. I went back to the previous dosage on my own, went to the MD and he added Wellbutrin to the mix. I am feeling so much better!

MITZILYNE and anyone else having trouble paying for Cymbalta,
When I didn't have any insurance I was able to get my Cymbalta for free though Eli Lilly (the manufacturer). They have a program for no insurance, and also one for if you do have insurance and are having trouble paying for your co-pay.
You can go to the following link for more information.
www.lillytruassist.com/

Most manufacturers have programs to help get medications. If you're having problems affording them try looking up the manufacturer of the medications you take. There are also a few programs that will assist you in finding the manufacturer and paperwork involved.

I have used it in the past and it did wonders for my pain.
I have had problems with side effects getting onto the med. But after a few weeks was better. I'm not taking it right now because the last time I started on it (and went through the side effects getting onto it) my insurance wouldn't refill it without a prior authorization, and my dr office took over a month to even file the papers..by then I was back off of it. I refused to go back on again. My dr has prescribed Savella saying it should have less side effects, but I told him I won't start the samples he gave me until my prior auth on it is complete.

I guess all this is to say that everyone is different. I've heard people have side effects going off of Cymbalta, I have them going on..others I know have no side effects at all. If your dr prescribes it for you at least give it a try. I know it was one thing that really worked for me as far as the pain goes. If the Savella doesn't work then I will probably be going back to the insurance and try and get the Cymbalta covered again.

I am on Lyric, 2 different doses to try to help with the pain. Cymalta is in the category of drugs that haven't helped me in the past so I have chosen not to try it, especially with all the side effects.

I took Cymbalta for a month and it seemed to stop working. Also I didn't feel well, and when I did an on line search of the side effects it seemed that I had a bunch of them. I can't say that it was definitely caused by the drug, but there was a good chance that it was, so I contacted my doctor and told him that I was stopping taking it.

The sad thing is that I still hurt and nothing seems to help. That makes wanting to get out of bed in the morning.

I can't take it either... headache, nausea & vomiting, even a blood pressure crash issue.

... It's true, though, it's different for everyone. the only way to know is to test it. Ask your doctor though to try samples for the first couple of weeks--he should be able to get some. You don't want to pay for an expensive prescription and then find out you can't handle the effects...

My emotions went absolutely flat when I took it and I had terrible constipation, not something you want when you're looking for an improvement in symptoms.

Everyone has different reaction to medication. If your doctor suggest it for you then give it a try. But there can be some difficult side effects with Cymbalta like all other medication. I personally am okay with taking it at night, but not during the day. I was a zombie from the morning dose and my family seen an improvement in me after I stopped taking it.

It didn't help me at all. AS a matter of fact, I had vision problems when i used it and got off of it quickly.Cymbalta seems to help people who have some depression with the fibro but that wasn't my problem either. Have you tried Savella? it is a much cleaner drug with fewer side effects for most people.

The very first day I took this drug I didn't feel any muscle pain all day long. At the end of the day, I thought about how I had felt, and it was just amazing! However, as the days went on, the side effects kicked in. There was always a hint of nausea. I had increasingly hard stools. And other more personal side effects began to manifest themselves, and eventually I had to stop taking it. I've never tried another drug since! That said, though, try it! It's different for everyone.
