Can you believe I woke up to snow this morning? Ed actually called me and told me that there were trucks and cars off the road all over the place, and not to worry because it wasn't him. That was when I looked out the window and realized it had snowed overnight...

Ready to refresh my mental attitude. The taxes will be sent in late, as the preparer didn't get them done on time, even tho' she had all our paperwork. But it's out of my hands, so I need to stop stressing over it. Drove down to Carver last night and picked up my 'new' car. It rides really nice, and now we won't have to keep shuffling cars to make sure we all get where we need to go. So that is another big load off my shoulders.

I have a work meeting this afternoon, but also need to find some time to get exercise in. Haven't been to the gym in almost a week, but there are plenty of options on SP to get my body moving...

Lynn: it's a grey 2003 Chevy Impala, and it's in great condition. My last 3 cars were Buicks, so I figured I would stay with them forever as I'm very comfortable with the way they handle. But sometimes, minor emergencies, like Nick's car kicking the bucket, makes us pave the way for new things. The old guy who owned it took very good care of it, and it came to us at just the right time. This guy is a neighbor of my BFF's mother, and didn't decide until recently that he didn't need this 2nd vehicle, just when we were starting to get desparate about finding a car we could afford.

Donna - I agree - we don't need to break any of those kinds of records (for snow!) We just had a dusting this morning but the temps were very cold here too as well.Tomorrow is supposed to be even worse than today (early AM) but then we start slowly going back up.

Made it to A-zumba tonite -- always feels good and more people are starting to come out for it. I ordered an elevated raised garden veg-truk -today....Have no idea when it'll be delivered but I intend to start growing herbs in it at first....might even put my tomato plants in it this year since I had NO luck last year w/ my 2 plants. I can't bend over anymore and I want to get into cooking with more herbs so this is my answer to it. Shouldn't tell you what dh had to say about it - "OH you cook??" LOL, gotta love that man!

Becca - what kind of car did you get?? Hope you're feeling better!

I've just been overly tired the last couple of days....taken naps each day plus sleeping all nite! Guess my colonoscopy took more out of me than I thought....

Going to Indy on Friday to help in my dd classroom .I'm taking a treat for the kids - can't take homemade ones (school won't allow them) so I went to the baker and asked them to make individually wrapped Easter cookies for each child) Plus I think I"ll go to the dollar store and see if I can find any Easter pencils....then I'll be done!

Have a great evening everyone!

Jane those kind of records we don't need!!! I hope it melts fast and a real spring is just around the corner.
Becca hope you have a wonderful day!!!
I am off to some grocery shopping this morning then home to start this massive pile of laundry. I think DH saved it all up from before our trip home!!!
We decided yesterday that I would be hosting the Easter dinner. There will only be five of us but I think that is all I can handle right now. Still to much cleaning and organizing to catch up on.
So I am off to start my day. Have a good one!!!

April Fools came late this year - we had about 3" of snow overnight! Looks more like January out there than April. The temperature is only 24° with tonight's low predicted to be 16°. The total snow fall record set in 1880-81 was broken with this latest storm. The new record is 94.8"..

Here's hoping today is less stressful than yesterday. It's raining, but at least it's not snow ~ yo don't have to shovel rain...

Glad you're getting settled in again, Donna!
Tired today... had a long (but fun) weekend. After work Friday morning, I got together with a friend I used to work with. She is now driving a semi.... I hadn't seen her in months. We spent the day running around town, taking care of errands and just having fun. Started at 8:30am and didn't stop until 7:30pm. I was tired (after working the night before... no sleep in between). I was up for about 32+ hours, but wouldn't trade it for anything. We had so much fun.... lots of silliness. Got together again on Sat. for a little more running around. Then went out to eat with my kids and husband, and then met up with some other friends for more fun (my husband only stayed for a little while... he had to work in the morning). Not enough rest on Sunday, but I'll take it... too much fun! I have to try to get some sleep this week.
They are predicting snow for us tonight......... CRAZY!

Jane, don't worry if your husband doesn't go into a cast. The boot can serve the same function, but it least it breathes...... and, you can open it up every so often. Hope his healing goes well!

Hi all. Thanks for explaining the uff da phrase......love it's,,, Jane glad to hear your DH's appointment went well. Maybe he won't even be put in a cast. Shirley glad to hear your DH is feeling better too. Poor guy was really sick. And Becca you are on the mend too. I guess we all have those down days. Maybe it is just forcing us to slow down for awhile!!!
We Re getting back to normal. I still have lots to do but at least it is a semblance of normal. Went out and got some freggies today. I sure don't like when I don't have a variety of fresh produce in the fridge. I will tell you groceries are sure a lot more expensive that in California.
Hope you all have a good evening

Shirley: maybe the change of the seasons is what affected me so badly on Saturday. Didn't get to the auto ins office to get my 'new' car insured/registered, as I realized the paperwork is still in Ed's car. That is how 'out of it' I was by the time we got home that day...

Lynn, Laurie is correct.. Uff da! is a Norwegian expression - the equivalent of Oy Vey! .. Tom is from North Dakota and his Mom taught me how useful Uff Da could be - it just depends on your tone of voice {g} Marie even sent me a plastic needlepoint bookmark with the phrase on it.

We were able to get to the surgeon's office ok. Left early because we were afraid that there might be traffic lights out along the way but the only ones we ran into were in the village which had been set up as a 4 way stop & then down by the hospital where the light was blinking red - neither delayed us. They took the stitches out & replaced them with steri-strips and left him in the boot rather than putting a cast on. We go back in two weeks to check it. Because the pin site on the instep is still oozing, they took a couple swabs to culture and he's still on antibiotics.

Becca, I hope whatever you have is not the flu. I know several people who got their shot this year and have still come down with a bug that kept them down and out for almost a week. Take good care of yourself!!

Shirley, thanks for the prayers. I'm glad that your DH is getting back to normal. I had to smile about him cracking jokes as Tom is the same way. I kid him that his come-on line before we got married was "Come with me, baby, I'll make you laugh!!"

We got a look as some of the damage here in the village on the news last night. The area over by the post-office and the strip mall with Kroger got some of the worst of it. Electric poles & trees down. There's a restaurant just north of Kroger where the electric lines came down over the customers' cars so they had to be evacuated while leaving the cars there. At least one Hummer had a electric pole on top of it. Driving down the St. Joe, there were a number of trees down here & there and places here in the village were closed for the most part. The sun is shining now but it's chilly - only 56° and snow forecast for tonight & tomorrow! If it's very heavy, we may break the record total snow fall of 93.6" as we already have 91.7".

In other news, I joined the Stress Busting Challenge yesterday as my stress level could use a little busting at the moment.

Lynn, "Uff da" comes from the land of Ole and Sven--Norway! And no uff da for you--great news from the "poop" doc!

I heard Wisc. got snow today. Will your winter never end? My sister is really, really enjoying our southern weather, though today it feels more like January...cold front blasted through. But we should be back up into 60s and 70s tomorrow and beyond.

Today I'm frantically catching up with the disasters d'jour from when I was off painting. Blegh!

Jane, just wanted to let you know that I am praying for good news today for your dh. I really hope things are mending well. When I broke my leg in my 40's so bad it took forever for those bones to mend. I sure would hate to have a broken bone now.

I didn't sleep well Sat. night or last night. Having major Restless Leg Syndrome problems. I have noticed that every time the seasons change I go through a really bad time and then it settles down again. I hope it's over with soon. I hate it. I slept most of Sunday and then couldn't sleep last night, seems like I never sleep before I have to go back to work after break. Everyone in my office is talking about their wonderful spring breaks and I have my sad story.

For the first time in an entire week my dh was finally back to normal yesterday. He was cracking jokes and made me laugh so hard yesterday. I was thinking Yay! my husband is back! He was one sick guy for sure.

I actually left the house on Friday and went and got a manicure/pedicure Decided I needed to have a day to do what I wanted and a little pampering. It sure felt good. I've been going to the same shop for about 15 years. It's a mom and her sons mostly who run it and she is so busy that she has hired a few other people too. Her sons are so sweet, she has 4 or 5 sons and I think they have all worked in the shop at one time or another. I realized Friday that I have watched these boys grow up.

Back to work, no air of course. Nothing unusual for this place!

Guess I will go and see what I can find to do. Not much since the software or whatever it is I use everyday is being updated and I can't use it again until after Wednesday. I'd rather be busy.

Hope everyone has a great day.
Shirley

Good morning, all! I'm ready to start another week; lots to get done, but I'm mentally picturing keeping the pressure under control, so there won't be any endless snacking to deal with.

Nope, not the 'flu, which I don't think I can get anyway since I get the shot every year. Just every once in a while I get a day when I'm so tired, I can't function. Usually doesn't happen on a weekend, which I have a lot planned. If it's during the week, I can just do my 4 hours at work, then spend the rest of the day in bed, sleeping it off. I'm not supposed to be having hormonal changes anymore, but it does seem to run in a cycle.

Jane - and what language is "Uff da"....that just made me smile!! LOL...I agree with Donna hope your appt. goes well tomorrow. Don't need any setbacks now! I've heard the storms in Michigan were pretty strong...all we got were some sprinkles. Our warm weather is coming to an end tonite...at least til later in the week or the weekend. Hopefully nice for everyone for Easter! We might go to my youngest dd since we were invited...we usually go to my late dh family for holidays but with what my oldest dd and I are going through - I think it's best I just stay away for awhile anyway.

Hi Cheryl - 29 huh?? but that is a fun thing to do for sure!

All of you with your big spins for the team - I got 1 today!!!!!

Becca hope you feel better soon - yeah it does sound like the flu - but hopefully leaves quickly!!!

Oh I almost forgot - got a phone call from the gastroenterologist office late Friday aft....my biopsy from the colonoscopy was benign...only the 2 small polyps so now I can wait FIVE years til my next one!! WOOHOO for sure....although right after I hung up I told dh with my family history of colon cancer (4 family members) maybe that's too long!!!!! LOL...But I also know my dr. knows that and the nurse assured me it would be fine...but that if I notice any changes just to call them....now on to the next thing...whatever that is...

20 pts. on the wheel!

Went out for a really fun birthday celebration last night.... lots of dancing and giggling! It's good to be 29 again.....

Jane, I never got to go into a cast.... had to stay in the boot. The incisions looked really ugly, but there was no infection.... just "fever blisters" from all the swelling. Hope Tom heals up well!

Jane, that storm sounds scary. It is a good thing you have a generator as your power sure goes out a lot. I don't imagine it would be good for your DH to get to chilled. It is a good thing you are going to the doctor tomorrow. Janis let does. It sound good. What a terrible fracture!!!
I hope you are feeling better tomorrow. You both are having a hard time right now.
Becca, hope your headache is better today. Sounds like a touch of the flu!!!
I have spent most of the day unpacking and organizing. Trying to remember where everything goes is a challenge. Anyway it is getting done. It is so good to be home!!!
Have a good day all.....

Uff da!! What a night.. We were hit by a fast moving storm around 7:30 last night. It hailed so hard that the yard looked like it was covered with snow and the wind brought down trees in the village and took the roof off of one house. Then the power went out which isn't usually a problem because we have a natural gas generator - except it didn't come on. Finally, I went out & unlocked the end door to the controls and flipped a couple switches & circuit breakers which was enough to get it to turn on. Here it is 10:00 a.m. and the power is still out and the DTE outage map hasn't changed a bit. There are over 6600 customers in our zip code alone that don't have power. Still, it wasn't as bad as the night when Tom was in the hospital when the power here went out and when it came back, the transfer switch on the generator was stuck. First technician checked the power outside the house and left with me still in the dark. Second time, he came in & flipped a couple of the inside switches for the generator & that reset the transfer switch.

Another appointment at the surgeon's office tomorrow morning. The home nurse was here again on Friday, but when I changed the bandages on his ankle last night there was more green pus so I'm doubtful that he'll be out of the boot & into a cast for a while yet. Hopefully, while all this is going on, the bones are knitting together. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. It was a month on the 9th since he fell & fractured it.

In the meantime, I have a catch in my back (oh joy) that doesn't seem to want to work out plus, with this weather, my knees are aching tho' not as bad as pre-TKR and the IT band is doing it's thing again. Tomorrow is supposed to be stormy so I suspect that I'l ache even more.

Lynn, I don't dare have oyster crackers in the house - I nibble far too frequently if I have them.

Had a really bad day yesterday ~ low grade headache and extreme tiredness all day. I'm not sure what was going on, but I wasn't much good for anything... Hopefully, today will be better. Looking forward to church, not so much the meeting afterwards.

Hi all, well we are safely home and very happy to be here. The sun is shining and no rain!!!! WHOOHOO we are so lucky. The drive was uneventful with beautiful weather and I still had my shorts on when we arrived home. Of course I was without Internet for several days so you did not hear from me. I have to keep, this short as I am pooped!!! I know you all understand. So take care of yourselves. I am reading your posts but I am just way to far behind and I have lots of unpacking calling my name. And to top it off, DH wanted to go to Costco so I have that to contend with too. I think I will leave lots for tomorrow........
Have an awesome Saturday evening!!!

Lynn, the yellow makes a world of difference. My sister is staying until Weds., and we did talk about the other rooms that need painting. Nah, ain't gonna happen! We are going up to the attic sometime before she goes so we can drag down our great-grandmother's dishes to see if she wants them. And maybe clean out some stuff and give her the opportunity to claim them...and get them out of OUR house! It's amazing how motivating a potential move is. Even though it's probably 5-7 years away ;)

I'm afraid that the calories expended did not exceed the calories ingested. Gonna have to pay the piper soon.

Have to go and fold up drop cloths. Sometimes it takes longer to clean up than to do the actual painting!

Good morning --

Well Becca - I'm with you on this one I made it through A-Zumba today for an hour so I've got my hour in too!!! WOOOHOOO to us!!

Grilled Cheese- definitely a favorite -though I haven't made any for a long time! I usually butter the outside of the bread and for some reason they always seemed to be soggy rather than crispy and I didn't like that. So if anyone has any ideas for making it less soggy - I'd appreciate it.

Laurie - like yellow - happy color! I'm sure you're feeling/finding muscles you never knew you had before. How long is your sister staying for? (thought you might start on the exterior paint too if she stayed long enough! LOL) :)))

Supposed to be a gorgeous day today - I even stayed home from a crop so as not to sit inside but be outside...so we'll see how that works out! Of course Mon/Tues are supposed to be a high in the mid40s but it's not going to stay there long. -- spring just might have sprung!!

Have a great day everyone!

Today is Nat'l Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day! That should be an easy one to fit into the menu. I've already gone to the gym, and in an hour we will be heading out to look at yet another car. Then sometime this afternoon, Ed needs to go back to the dealer in Boston and get our $200 back.

Two days of painting--muscles are complaining. We still have trim to paint, but it's nice to have the walls changed from boring white to cheerful yellow. No time to write more.

Good morning!

Well I think I'm slowly getting back to normal (I know hard to believe!) The test went well and the preliminary results are that I had 2 polyps both seemed ok but of course need to await the biopsy report in about 2 weeks. Wouldn't you think with all the technology we have they could go FASTER than that about something so nervewracking?? I was just glad to be 'cleaned out'. I had heard a couple of stories from some friend (actually my MIL and my neighbor) about going in for the procedure, being put under and then finding out they were NOT cleaned out and having to start all over again and repeat the procedure. I would SO hate that....Since I prepared in advance -- by having small lunch and supper on Mon. only having breakfast and then chicken noodle/soup/crackers for lunch and supper on Tues...Wed was of course only clear liquids -- that part of it was not too bad...and I wasn't as overwhelmed as I have been in the past...so if you want any tips if you have to undergo this procedure just message me!! :)))) OK - enough of that...

Sounds like everyone is busy and trying to get healthier...I hope by this time Shirley that you and you dh are feeling much better. Sure NOT a way to spend your springbreak for sure but at least you've had the time to take care of yourself and NOT have to think about working too. Years ago my son had dehydration and we kept going to the ER - finally after the 2nd or 3rd time of them hydrating him and then sending us home and him being back 12-24 hours later they finally admitted him to the hospital for 2 or 3 days. Not a thing to mess around with...so I do hope he's better.

Jane - glad you have home health care people coming in that hopefully relieves some of the pressure off of you..Your soup sounded good...of course I'd have to have my oyster crackers with it!! Did I mention I have a thing for them?? :))

Well I know Laurie is busy painting now and Donna is headed back to Canada (thanks for the goodie) and Maryann is trying to heal from her wrist and a busy workweek...and I also noticed that that Cheryl passed 50,000 fitness minutes this week and that Becca is stepping up her game in the contest with her ds!!! (don't you hate it Becca that those guys can just sneeze and lose 10#??) Still out here pulling for you though...I know you can do it -- and prob. you have less to lose than him?? Plus they have more muscle (or at least that's what I've read of why men lose it faster than women)

I'm planning on taking dh out for lunch or supper for his birthday today since I couldn't eat earlier in the week so it's going to be Red Lobster or Spagheddis....whichever he chooses. I'll prob. (or try) to eat only half so as not to fill my tummy back up too quickly - that might not be a good idea yet.

Have a great day everyone and YAY - it's weekend for you working folks!!

Well, the workweek is coming to a close, and it's starting to calm down here. It's been tough having 2 cars between 3 working people. Will be going out again on Saturday to look at a car, one owned by a friend of a friend. I'll be happy when this is finally past us.

Lynn: Andy has lost 10# in the last four weeks, while I have gained due to water weight. But he has a lot of advantages. I will keep plugging along, tho.

Shirley, I can completely sympathize with you having to drive to get to Urgent Care - I hate to drive and trying to watch traffic lights, other cars/trucks, speed limits & - here in Michigan - potholes big enough to cause real damage, it gets a little hairy at times. Sorry that your husband had to go into work today while he's still sick. Would I be super mean if I hope that he gives the bug to his boss???? {wicked grin}

The home nurse showed up yesterday and will be back tomorrow. In the meantime I have to go get some non-stick pads so I can dress it this evening. Probably time for a Kroger run anyway plus I have to pick up the mail. Made a pot of soup last night - pulled pork, onion, great northern & black beans, corn, chicken broth, diced tomatoes flavored with cumin, Syrian allspice, fennel, garlic & mint.. Yummy and there's enough for tonight too.

Hey everyone!

What a week, been a lot of emoticon going on in our house this week. My dh took a bad turn on Tuesday afternoon and he decided to call his insurance co. to find an Urgent Care Center for "just in case". I really felt like he was getting dehydrated fast. I kept having to wake him up to make him drink a little bit. I talked to the lady on the phone and she encouraged me not to put it off, to go then. So I herded him out the door right quick with the clothes he had on. I think he was too sick to even figure out what was happening. Plus because of this crazy new insurance he has we had to drive to Smyrna. I don't do well on the interstates at all. Plus traffic was heavy, starting rush hour. Luckily I managed to get us there and back home in one piece. I nearly had a major break down though on the way home, just as we were getting on the interstate coming home a rescue truck was making everyone get over to the far left lane and I totally froze, sweet guy behind me was blinking his lights to let me over but when it's after 8 and getting dark and all these tractor trailers were flying up behind me I was scared to death. I finally managed to get over. I was never so glad to see home again! So anyway, we got to the Urgent Care and finally got seen and he was dehydrated so after poking him 3 times they finally got the IV started, then two more pokes to draw blood. I felt so bad for him but I think he was too sick to even care. They ran a bunch of tests but haven't heard anything yet. He was so pale. This is the sickest I have ever seen him, he never ever gets sick. So we finally make it home and I get him into bed and I crash too and at 1:30 in the morning the crud hits me! Oh my goodness! I was twice as sick as he had been. Neither one of us got much sleep that night. I spent all day yesterday just laying around moaning. I'm doing much better today except the insides of my body hurt every time I cough. This is the worst stomach virus in the world! He's still not 100% but he went to work anyway. He used all his sick days, his boss was not happy with him on Tues. at all. I think that's why he went to work today. I'm really worried about him.
I had a mammogram scheduled for today and a physical tomorrow and I cancelled everything. I guess I will just have to miss work to get it done now. Oh well!
So that's how I have spent spring break and Oh! the fun part was we had no water all day yesterday again. I hope they have finally managed to fix all of these pipes and this is the last time we have to go through this.

Even though I haven't been outside very much this week, the sun has been shining. But it's still cold. The temp this morning was 39 degrees. It's very unusual for us to have that cold of weather this time of year. I was looking at the extended forecast for next week and it's supposed to be in the 60's all of next week, that's very unusual for us.

That's my week, was not how I planned to spend spring break at all! So disappointing! I feel like today I need to disinfect the house. It's in pretty sad shape with two of us so sick this week. I need to start my Bible Study too. I've fallen behind.

Hope things go well for you today Lynn. Been thinking about you.

Shirley

Just quickly jumping in -- can't stay long for 'obvious' reasons!!!'
Thanks for the kind words about my up/down day yesterday!!!

Becca - have a great time at the birthday party...I'd take HIM icecream and cake and fruit salad for myself...so I'd WIN!! But you're nicer than me!! LOL...

Shirley = hope both dh and you feel better soon!!

Laurie and Jane - I watched Castle for the 1st time last nite!! Don't know if it was a re-run or a new one (it wasn't during primetime (8-11) it was 7-8 but it was very good! My dh has watched it more often and explained to me some of the characters but it was very interesting. (it was the one about he and his mom being in a bank and it getting 'robbed'....which wasn't the whole story at all but that gives you an idea about it)

Maryann - Laurie's bionic ear was that she got her hearing aids.....a week now? Or is it two? I've lost track...

It was a very pretty day here today (according to dh) I wasn't out!! But at least the sun shone in the windows and kept my mood light. Tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer - guess I"ll miss most of that one too!

Hi Cheryl....glad to see you!!

Going to Andy's for dinner tonight, to celebrate his b'day. Can't believe I'm old enough to have a child who is 25!! We bought him the router he wanted, and I'm taking over 3 bags of fruit, sort of a make-it-yourself fruit salad. Now that we're in the weight-loss challenge again, it wouldn't be fair for me to take cookies or ice cream over...

I look at people using those scooters and just cringe. That would not work with my knees! Ouch!

My sister arrived this morning and it was a perfect day to go walking after lunch. Now I'm hard at work (at the office). Tomorrow we paint!

Jane, I used one of those knee scooters for months after my foot surgery. Don't know what I would have done without it..... my shoulders gave out on me. It wasn't a very happy time. That should help him get around a lot better (and make things a little easier on you). I was also in one of those boots for 5 months. With all the hardware in my body, I used to joke that I was a walking hardware store. (Luckily the metal detectors didn't go off... hahaha)
Hope his healing goes well and the nurse shows up.

Jane, every time I read one of your posts about your husbands surgery I cringe. That poor guy. I sure hope you have someone who knows what they are doing come to your home today. It sounds like he needs some special attention. Our thoughts. Are with you guys.
Reality TV is certainly not for me either. People acting out like they have never been taught manners or how to care about other people is just garbage. It has never been on in our home. There use to be a show in Canada about people settling in the 1800 in Manitoba. It was an eye opener for sure.
Today is our final packing and loading the car then I have to clean the condo. It will be a very busy day but that's ok. I hope we get done early as it is suppose to be 97 today which means it will be over 100 here. So better get going if I want to beat the heat.

Just finished changing the dressings on Tom's leg & foot. The home nurse didn't show up today tho' we did get a call yesterday that they were trying to find someone to come. The incision & the spot on his instep where the one pin went in look "angry" so I hope someone shows up tomorrow who knows what they're doing. I'm making sure that he takes his antibiotics & extra calcium. Saw the x-rays yesterday - I doubt if he's going to get through a metal detector without it beeping: two plates, a number of small screws & three "drywall" screws, that's one more of those than I have in my ankle.

The knee roller seems a lot steadier than crutches. We both got along ok with crutches before, but then we were about 15 years younger. Tom was getting a lot of exercise on the recumbent bike, but that didn't help his upper body strength which was what he needed for both the walker & crutches.

Maryann, yes, I'm a fan of police type dramas. Tom isn't into sports at all - I'm the family jock because at least I know which shape ball goes with which sport {g} I disappear into the front bedroom where I have a small set and a comfy chair while he usually reads or watches PBS or something on Netflix. On Sunday nights we watch Call The Midwife, Selfridge's & Father Brown then catch Cosmos on the web. Monday is Bones & Black List; Tuesdays there are two NCIS shows, Wednesday is Criminal Minds & now Unforgettable is back on Fridays.

I can't stand the reality shows either, Laurie, except for the ones on PBS where they had people living in different times like colonial New England, an 1800s settlement in the midwest, Victorian England or England during WWII. Can you tell I was a history major?? The only one of those series that didn't work for me was the Iron Age settlement where the kids got sick - not a good idea to bring small children along on such an adventure.

Becca, I hope your husband is feeling better by now. The grandkids had a bout of the latest flu and it kept them out of school for a week so it's nasty. Crossing fingers that I don't pick something up in our many visits to the hospital & surgeon's office.

I finished the baby afghan tonight during the NCIS and then cast on a Snuggle for the animal shelter as that's an easy knit. Snuggles are the only thing I'll use Homespun for as it doesn't wash well at all but the cats won't care as long as it's soft & warm. Our local shelter sends a Snuggle home with each adoption and they've told me that when they have a group adoption event they put the really colorful ones in the cages where they tend to catch the eyes of the people looking for a kitten or cat. Seeing that we make them with donated yarn and usually use the leftovers from larger projects some of the combinations could make your eyes bleed..

Well ladies, I too have seen those those knee rollers just recently what a great idea especially for women who tend not to be very strong so using crutches is rather difficult.
I wore pants to my sons wedding also. They were very full so they looked like a dress. Very comfy too!!

Shirley -- you sure have had a rough 24 hours. Sounds like sleep is what your hubby needs. I'm glad he didn't make it out of the house!! Sometimes delegation is more important than dedication - lol!! As for your ds - there isn't much you can do or say. My two are only 21 and 20, but I can already see that when they make their mind - I tread carefully and choose my words with great thought. I nodded my head with your comment of how we all dreamed about our weddings when we were little. My wedding was nothing like I always imagined - lol! I'm with you and not wearing a dress. I haven't worn one for quite a while. For both of my nieces weddings, I found a pair of black slacks that looked almost like a floor length skirt and very pretty blouses. I just saw the pictures and I actually looked pretty good .... if I do say so myself - lol!!

Jane -- hope the antibiotics work for Tom. It's always disappointing to have setbacks. I'd never heard of a knee roller before - what a great idea. I remember when my mom broke her ankle in two spots - she had pins put in and using the walker was a real pain. A knee roller would have been perfect for her! I had no idea you were a Castle, NCIS and Criminal Minds fan!! We have them all recorded as well - makes life between me and dh go much smoother during sports season. And considering that he loves his sports ..... sports season tends to be a year round event!! Hope you post a picture of the afghan when it's done!

Okay Laurie - I missed a post ...... what bionic ear???? You'll have to fill me in - if you don't mind. And I agree 100% - I am not a fan of reality tv .... I have enough of reality in my life - LOL!!!

Well - guess I should get back to work. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE working from home emoticon

Jane, we posted at about the same time! We love Castle, too. May is sweeps month, but a couple of the shows we like have already ended for the season. They can take the "reality" shows and flush those as far as I'm concerned! (Can I tell you how I REALLY feel?) I haven't been getting much knitting done lately. It seems I get home from work, exercise for half an hour, eat dinner, then it's almost time to start getting ready for bed. I have an afghan I'm making for my nephew (in Lower Michigan) that's way too heavy to work on in the summers here. It's going to take forever to get done for him.

OK, now who is rambling? emoticon

Shirley, I see that it's sunny up at Berry College. Hope that means it's nice down in Atlanta, too!

Donna, I can sympathize with you. We are packing up our kitchen and great room so we can paint later this week. I SO hate moving! And this is just a minor taste. I can't imagine how awful it will be when we move in 5-7 years. If we were smart we'd start tossing things now, because I know we'll have to downsize when we move north.

Lynn, thinking about and praying for you today with your mix of joy and melancholy.

Becca, Monday night has turned into our salad night. We put all kinds of good things in there and I really do look forward to that meal!

Shirley, at least I can get away with bringing knitting with me to boring meetings (on the occasions when I can't get away with skipping them!).

Snap, crackle, pop--I can sure hear more of that with my new bionic ears. Don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Shirley, I went to work one time with the stomach flu because it was two hours before a Saturday night shift when I really KNEW I was sick. I worked in a pretty specialized unit and I thought they wouldn't be able to find someone to work my shift. Bad mistake. The LPN wasn't happy with me because about all I did that night was give the IV meds. Except for helping her clean up a very messy patient (I almost added to the mess!). I never did that again! I'm so glad I work a job where if I can't get to work it'll still be there waiting for me until I can.

Speaking of the scale (Maryann!), it's going the wrong direction. I really need to get my act together again. I do NOT want to start an uphill slide that I can't stop!

First of all, Lynn.. so sorry to hear about Jill. And Donna is right, John must be a very special person to offer to change his birthday. I tend to really down the first few weeks in June as we have Father's Day, the anniversary of Dad's sudden death & what would have been his birthday all within two weeks. It's so difficult to lose someone you love so much.

Secondly, I'll be thinking of you on Thursday. We both had colonoscopies right after Medicare started. Mine was clear (surprising as both Dad's folks had colon cancer) but Tom's found a large polyp that was just starting to turn into cancer. All his lymph nodes were clear so he's ok but so glad that our PCPs sent us for the tests.

Donna.. I know what you mean about packing up to move twice a year. Mom & Dad used to go to Florida every winter, so I'd take a day in the fall to go out and help them pack up the van, then again in the spring to help them unpack. The year Dad decided to sell the trailer down there, I flew down to help clear it out and drive back. I'd rather deal with Michigan winters than all that!

Drove Tom down to St. Joe's to the surgeon's office yesterday morning. He was supposed to get stitches out and a heavier cast on but because the one incision still looks inflamed along with one of the sites that they put a pin for the tension rods two weeks ago, he's in a removable boot and we're supposed to have a home nurse coming in this week to check on it & change the dressings. He's also back on antibiotics and has another appt. next Monday. I think I forgot to mention that he got a knee roller last Saturday so it's been easier for him to get around the house - much more stable than the crutches or walker plus it's narrow enough to get into the bathrooms which the wheelchair wasn't.

I'm trying to catch up on the Castle episodes I've missed while watching Black List. Why do the networks have to put two of the few good programs up against each other?? My analog VCR won't talk to my digital TV other than to play back already recorded tapes so I have to catch Castle on line. Was lucky last night to watch the first one I missed just before it went off line at midnight. Tonight there are two new NCIS episodes & tomorrow night a new Criminal Minds, then nothing until Unforgettable on Friday. I'm trying to remember if April or May is supposed to be Sweeps month. I get a lot of knitting or crocheting done while I'm watching TV but have found it a bit more difficult to do so with the Kindle than it used to be with real books. I'm into the 4th and last skein on the baby afghan so it should be finished fairly soon.

It rained almost all day yesterday and my knees, shoulders & back felt it - for a while it felt like someone was trying to cut the incisions open which is new - very sharp burning pains. The IT band has been acting up again and now Tom is having problems with his on his good leg so he knows now what I've been moaning & groaning about. I'm rambling again..

Well... where do I start. I was up half the night aching all over for some crazy reason. DH was up and down all night sick and getting something to drink. I know he isn't getting enough fluids. All he has done is sleep. He never did get up and work last night, He went to bed instead and said he would get up at 4 and go into work early and get finished before the rest of the crew arrived. He got up at 4, took a shower and got dressed and kept coming back and laying down. I think he said he got up once and got on the computer and emailed all of his work to someone. He finally decided he just couldn't do it. He is having terrible stomach pains. I feel so bad for him. I finally had to wake him up and make him text his boss and another girl in his office to tell them he wasn't going to be there. I don't think his boss even ever answered him. So neither one of us slept well.

My oldest ds who is getting married called me last night and told me plans have changed and they have decided to move the wedding up to June 7th this year. It's going to be at her church and it will only be the immediate family only. They plan on still having the huge reception next year. I'm kind of bummed out and hoping they don't regret it especially her. You know how we all plan our weddings for years. But he said it doesn't matter to them how they get married as long as they love each other. They said it is money reasons for one thing because they are buying the house that her parents own. Her parents are planning to retire to Florida next year right after the wedding and ds and her were going to buy the house, well the house needs a new roof and they said if they do the big wedding thing they won't be able to do it. I think some of it is they just can't wait any longer. I don't know. I think her mom and dad need to be paying for the roof not them. I don't think my youngest ds will be able to make it as that is the week they are closing on their house and will probably be moving. Oh well, it's their decision. What could I say? So I guess I won't worry about finding a dress (I don't wear dresses- so hard to find something since I'm so short) and just wear something out of my closet. Doesn't leave much time to do much of anything. He's talking about taking the day off to get married and then going to work the next day and going on a honeymoon in August. Her parents were going to send them on a surprise cruise next year, I don't know what's going to happen now. Not sure if anyone in my family will make the long trek here next year just for a reception. Just have to wait and see.

Well guess I will go and dry my hair and see what I can get done since dh is home sick. We live in a small apt. and I can't do much in the way of housework since he's home and sleeping. That was one thing I wanted to get done today. On to plan B I guess which I haven't figured out yet. He's never ever sick so I just wasn't planning on this.

Lynn I will be praying for you. So sorry for the loss of your daughter. It's good that you have something positive to focus on now. Hope your colonoscopy goes well and that you get good news.

Good luck on packing Donna. Glad it's you and not me or not me yet! We will be moving in Sept. if we move.

Glad you could relate to what I was saying Maryann about staff development. I have more then enough hours now. I may have enough for this year and next, HA wish they would let us use them like that. I'm glad all I had to do was drive to work and walk next door to the school for the morning session, in the afternoon we were just in our office so it wasn't so bad.

Have a great day! Looks like the sun is shining here!

Shirley it sounds like your DH has a very bad flu. Poor guy works such long hours he probably is run down. Hope he feels better soon. Aldo hope your rain goes away soon. Enough crappy weather already.
Cheryl our knees are not perfect but they sure are a lot better than ore surgery!!!! That's my thought anyway. I remember going grocery shopping and looking down the isles and thinking I am not sure if I can do this!!! I am so grateful for what I can do today......aches and pains I will take any day rather than pre surgery........
But we can still whine!!!!! emoticon
Lynn, what a sad story about your daughter. That must have been so awful for you and your family. I can't even imagine that happening to one of my family. Your DH must be very special to offer to change his birthday, what a sweetie!!!
Now your other news.......all our prayers will be with you on Thursday. Very scary with your family history. But the good thing is the doctor is staying on top of this. That is the most important thing to catch third polyps early!!!
So still in the packing, cleaning and organizing stage. Another busy day. Will catch up with you all later....

Quick good morning ..... worked from home yesterday and will again today. Just love it!!

Lynn --- b-day greetings to John .... hearts for Jill!! You're always in my prayers - positive thoughts being sent your way!

Bethan -- August will be here before you know it. 50 years - such an awesome milestone!

Becca - having healthy food ready and waiting is so important for those hectic days. I always say 'I'm going to" but I never do - could be why the scale isn't budging!!

Shirley - Glad to hear someone else doesn't get why they have to go to something that doesn't pertain to their job!! I'm suppose to go to a seminar in May and just the thought of having to take the train downtown and then the 'water' taxi across the Loop ..... UGH!! Hope dh feels better soon. You are right -- there IS something nasty out there. Seems to be getting everyone.

Donna - I don't know how you do it! I'm not sure which is worse - the packing or the unpacking!

Cheryl - Glad we could make you feel better. I know that I actually made an appointment with my surgeon because my knee kept making this snapping sound. I thought something was wrong - but everything was fine. I'm thankful and grateful that knee and hip replacements are available to make our lives so much better .... even if we have to deal with the occasional snap, crackle, and pop!

Hi Laurie!

Time to get to work. Have a great day everyone!

Drove all the way into Boston yesterday, and the night guard didn't have the car keys to let us test drive the newish car we're hoping to buy. So may have to go again tonight, thus giving up my church girls' night out. Or will have to wait until Thurs so Nick can go with Eddie.

Today my eating will be cleaner than yesterday ~ I won't let the hurry up and wait attitude get to me. And I will make a big salad for dinner.

Bethan - that is a milestone to make it 50 years that's for sure! - Congratulations! August will be here before you know it!

Donna - I'm very sure you're very busy -- packing and unpacking are just not fun things to do - other than it does help us purge things. Since I've retired I'm finding I need less clothes, less shoes, and so it's been nice to pare down some closets.

Shirley - I saw on the news where Atlanta had some bad weather (that hit Miss. 1st I think) Was hoping you were alright. Hope dh feels better soon. My dh has had it in the back for over a week now. He went to the dr. last Friday who gave him some meds and slowly he seems to be returning to normal. Although he thinks he can do everything he did before. He did take 2 days off the gym though and I think that was a good thing. He went today and just did the treadmill - slowly and he did the recumbent bike and not the regular bike and NO weights!

Tomorrow is his 65th birthday -- and I'd love to take him out for supper but can't. I will be having a colonoscopy on Thursday and tomorrow I just intend to have chicken noodle soupand crackers all day - then Wed is the 'real fun'.....would appreciate your prayers for this - it's only been 2 years since my last one and I had precancerous polyps (and then had to have a repeat 4 months later - which showed more polyps but none precancerous) So THIS time if it's only polyps - I might get to go 5 years and that'll make my day!! But I have a strong family history of colon cancer and all of us cousins wonder which one of us it will 'hit'.

Tomorrow is also the anniversary of my oldest daughter's death....she was 18...waiting on a heart transplant -- that never came..so it'll be a tough day....when dh and I were 'dating' 7 years ago and he found out his birthday coincided with that day- he said -'do you want me to change my birthday?"....I said NO...it'll be good to have something good to think about on that day and that's what I intend to focus on. Please pardon my personal musings here....guess I am a bit melancholy.

And Cheryl you snuck in there while I was posting!! OH YES - those aches and pains continue from time to time. Today I was REALLY hurting in both knees...has to be the weather no matter what the dr. says...(it's raining here today and tomorrow)

Good luck with the moving and packing, Donna. Hate to say it, but glad it's not me.
I really appreciate that some of you had recently shared that some of you still suffer from aches and pains in the new knees. It really makes me feel so much better. I know mine gets beat up at work, but at least it's reassuring to know that others aren't "pain-free" either. I know it sounds really weird, but it makes me feel better to know that it is fairly normal for us. I'm not alone. Thanks!

Spring break is finally here. Not stating out so great either. Here's to hoping the week gets better. I guess it was good I had to go to work today since it was such a nasty day. Woke up to pouring rain and thunderstorms. Driving to work was so much fun! No worries on getting my car cleaned the rain took care of that. Of course when we left to go to lunch it was pouring rain again. Just thankful I didn't have to drive. Coming home was really tricky, traffic was worse at 3:30 then it usually is at 5:00. And it was so darn foggy and people were driving around with no headlights on!

I made it through all these crazy webinars and computer problems. It was a really boring day full of stuff that doesn't even pertain to me. How they ever thought that this was going to make any difference in a secretary's daily work is beyond me. All they did was find worthless stuff to fill time with. So stupid! But it was either that or lose a whole day's pay. Couldn't take a vacation/personal or sick day today!

So much for coming home and cleaning house. I have a very sick husband now! Now he has the horrible stomach bug that everyone else has had. I'm sure hoping he doesn't have the same one I had in December that went on for three days. I love him but I don't want him underfoot for 3 days. I have other things I want to do. He has slept all day practically. He keeps telling me he needs to get some work done so that he will be ready for tomorrow when his papers go to press but he hasn't moved out of the living room since I got home at 4:00. Not sure what will happen tomorrow if he is still sick. Knowing him he will drag himself out the door because he never misses a production day. Just hope he feels better and soon!

That's it for me, supposed to be sunny and warmer the rest of the week. Not that I have anything major planned except being at home and going to Dr. appts. I did make plans to meet a friend for lunch on Thursday but she has been cancelling a lot lately so I will see what happens. I think I will go and get a pedicure that day while I'm on that side of town.

Hope everyone has a good evening.
Shirley

Hey all! Busy group!

First of all! Happy Anniversary Donna and DH. Sorry I'm behind the times! Better late then never is my motto! 50 Years is a long time!

How was dinner Lynn? If it was good you need to post the recipe, always looking for new chicken recipes!

Jane, thanks for the lead on the book "The Silent Passage" I ordered it from Amazon and can't wait to get it. I hope it will help me figure out if this is menopause. I'm sure it is. I go for my physical on Friday and will see what the good ol' doc has to say. My poor dh is all I have to say. I think this is worse then PMS was.

I think we found a new apt. but it's too early to really inquire about it yet. We went and drove through the complex a few times this weekend to see what it's like. It's a huge complex much like where we are living now. I would like to get away from that. But it's had great reviews and looks pretty nice from what I can tell on the internet. If they look that good on the inside I would be very happy. It's about 15 minutes from where we are living now which is a longer drive for me. These even have screened in porches or a sunroom! And the kitchens look great. That's one of my biggest complaints here is the small kitchen. Plus they are in our price range! Will just have to see. Moving is so stressful but I so want out of this place and all their water and non working gate issues! But we really need to get out of here. Our water was turned off most of Thursday again and probably Friday too and still doesn't look like they are done. Just dreading the moving part.

Well, I decided I really needed a new pair of tennis shoes. The ones I have now just kill my feet and make my lower back hurt when I walk. Wow! Going to cost me a lot of money. Of course they didn't have my size and he thinks I need special insoles too. So they had to order them. The first ones I tried on he didn't put the insoles in at first and they felt pretty good but with the insoles they were real uncomfortable and slipping in the back. So he wanted to try another size. We will see. UGH! I hate shoe shopping.

Maryann, your daughter does wonderful drawings. Wow! That just blew me away, what a special talent she has!

Yesterday was so beautiful. So we got up early and got our chores done and then went to the park. I knew it was going to be crowded but didn't think it would be that crowded! Geez! There wasn't even any place to park. But we did get out and walk around for awhile. Enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine and the Pollen! Oh my! Spring has sprung in Georgia for sure. How do I know? My black car is now totally yellow! And I mean yellow! I wanted to wash it today but it's a total waste of time. It will look just like this again tomorrow. Time to start taking allergy pills!

Well after a fun filled day at work tomorrow and professional development all day which is looking really really boring I will be on spring break. At least tomorrow is a short day. 8:30 - 3:30 and an hour and a half for lunch. After spending the morning listening to the superintendent and whoever else talk about whatever we go to lunch then it sounds like we are going back to our own office and our own desks and listening to 3 different webinars on different things. UGH! Just want tomorrow to be over with and oh they are letting us wear blue jeans, I guess that's supposed to make up for tomorrow! And the boss let us leave 15 mins. early on Friday. I don't know what was up with that because she never lets us leave early. I hope tomorrow I will come home and have enough motivation to get the house cleaned so that I can spend 3 days doing something more enjoyable. I want to go get a pedicure one day and do something with my scrapbooking. I have some books to read. Friday I get to spend all day going to Dr. appts. oh joy!

I guess I should go and get myself together for tomorrow and see if I can figure out what to make for dinner tonight. I skipped Bible Study so now I guess I better cook. :)

Shirley

I've baked with molasses before, but no in a long time. A type of Xmas cookie if I remember right called for it. I haven't baked for Xmas or Thanksgiving in years.

Maryann.. Your daughter's drawing is beautiful. I taught art one year back in the 60s, but my university major was basically in art history so I had to keep one project ahead of the students.

Becca.. I remember having a tv dinner back in the 50s - sitting in front of the tv.

Lynn.. How nice of you to make a bulletin board for your friend. Autism awareness is something that needs to be emphasized as so many children are being diagnosed. My 15 year old grandson is a high functioning autistic so I'm sort of tuned into the articles & posts about it. He's mainstreamed in high school with good grades plus is in track & wrestling.

I have a drawer full of spices - Indian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Thai.. The one spice that seems to show up in all the recipes is cumin. I love experimenting with ethnic dishes tho' sometimes it takes me a couple tries to get the spices just right. Who would have thought that it would take fenagreek to bring out the flavor I wanted in a middle eastern soup recipe I created??

Good afternoon!

Molasses - have never liked the stuff actually - not sure what I had long ago that had it in it and I just never looked back! (Laurie I'm not even sure if cookies would do it for me)

Donna -- Maryann's daughter's pic she drew is on our team page by the huddle - look under photos. And Maryann I must say -- that IS why she's going down the road of art as a career -- just gorgeous. I can't even draw a stick figure that looks like a person!

Becca - thanks so much for sharing your tidbits. TV dinners - prob. the beginning of our unhealthy eating of boxed/processed foods. Although I have a feeling back then they might have been healthier but had no taste; now they have taste but so unhealthy (unless you buy a 'healthier brand')

Working on a bulletin board project for the SLP I volunteer for -- doing some of it on my cricut. It's Autism Awareness month and she asked me if I could make a board for her...I'm also fixing a new recipe for chicken in the crockpot -- not sure if we're going to like it but thought I'd give it a try. It's Slow cooker chicken with mushroom gravy....I'm not good with recipes -- I can follow them but I'm not a 'taster'....so if something isn't right I usually can't 'fix it'....I'm always amazed at chopped and the other cooking shows where they know what spice/seasoning will bring out the flavor of this or that....I haven't a clue -- and obv. have no desire to learn. I do think that kind of cooking is an inborn talent...and I envy those of you who can.

And Karen - is Greek yogurt as 'vinegary' tasting as regular yogurt - don't think I could handle that taste but maybe in a smoothie it get rid of some of that...Has anyone ever figured out how many calories are in these smoothies?? I know the ones you buy at some places may 'sound' healthy but they really aren't. Yes I'd prob. try fruit ones before the veggies ones...too.

1954 TV dinners are introduced. C.A. Swanson & Sons introduced the first TV dinner: roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, sweet potatoes and peas. It sold for 98 cents and came in an aluminum tray, so you could just open the box and heat the dinner in the oven. (No microwave ovens back then). Supposedly executive Gerald Thomas came up with the idea when the company had tons of leftover turkey from Thanksgiving (Didn't we all?). The idea for the aluminum trays came from the trays used for airline food. They were an immediate success, and Turkey dinners are still the most popular Swanson frozen dinner. Swanson stopped calling them TV dinners in 1962.

Hi Maryann! I was wondering where you had gone to. And I sure can relate to the crazy week. For a while I wondered if there was a full moon!

Didn't get paint today. Too many people waiting--Home Depot is having a good sale. We got supplies and will go on Monday during lunch.

We got a little rain today--yay! It got cold, though, not so yay.

Hi everyone ..... been a very hectic week. So glad to see the sun - finally!!!! Hope it sticks around for a while. I was hoping that the weather would even out a bit but every time is a surprise!

Happy 50th Anniversary Donna. That's an awesome accomplishment!!! Our anniversary was yesterday as well - 28 years. We're getting there ... slow but sure!! My brother and his wife celebrate 40 years last Sunday. Their four children and families gave them a trip to Nashville for five days and they renewed their vows. We're going out to dinner tonight with our daughter and son to celebrate. I'm so looking forward to being all together, in one spot at the same time!!

I love to paint --- dh does masking and clean-up. Our whole house could use a good repainting - but I can't even imagine where to start!! Same with carpeting. The thought of moving everything makes me shudder!

Never had a smoothie - they sound so good and simple to make.

Hope zumba was fun Lynn!! BTW --- I wanted to mention this to you at lunch Saturday and I forgot. I know Karen mentioned it, but I wear my pedometer clipped in the center of my bra. I have worn it clipped on the laces of my gym shoes or inside that small pocket of jeans. I haven't lost one yet - only broke my Fitbit when I fell.

Need to get back to laundry.

Have a great weekend!!

Nay 'l molasses day. Not. My favourite e. I use it to cook baked beans and desserts but I remember my Grandmother putting it on my pancakes. Not so good for me.
Laurie good luck with the painting. That. Is a job I was never good at. I can do the prep and cleanup but I am not a painter. And your right. It is such an upheaved in the house. Professionals don't even need drop sheets!
Lynn I have a smoothie at least three times a week for breakfast. They are quick and nutritious. Great way to start the day.
I am off to the driving range this morning and a few other errands after that. DH and I are going out for dinner tonight which will be very nice.
Have a good day all!!!

National molasses day? I could really go for some homemade molasses cookies like my grandmother would make for my grandfather. We always called them Bumpa cookies because they were his favorite. Mine too, but I can't make them quite like hers.

Lynn, maybe you need to go to Jamba Juice or someplace like that to try out someone else's smoothies before trying to make them yourself.

Happy anniversary, Donna (and hubby).

I used to really enjoy doing water aerobics but got out of the habit when I went to work in Guatemala one winter and never got back to it. It was getting to be pretty crowded and I had to get there really early to get a spot in the deeper part of the pool.

Looks like we may actually get some rain tomorrow. We need it badly. There were tornadoes and other severe weather events up north of us on Thurs. but all we got were about 5 drops of rain. I'd rather NOT have that kind of nasty weather. A good soaker would be nice.

Our clematis have started to bloom and we look every day for those buds on the roses to open. I had to take my new hearing aids in Friday because one of them wasn't working. She fiddled with it and it seems to be OK now. Hope that's not a sign of the times! The world is still very loud, but I'm getting used to it.

My sister is coming for a visit on Weds. and we are going to paint. If she wasn't coming we'd probably procrastinate forever! So today we go buy paint and supplies. Not looking forward to the upheaval, but am looking forward to things being all fresh. It's so much easier when there isn't furniture in the way!

Donna, happy anniversary! That is quite an accomplishment!
Lynn, I am starting with fruit smoothies. I've been using greek yogurt, a little honey, skim milk, and fruit- I've done bananas and strawberries, and frozen mixed berries. I'm not super happy with the results yet, but I'm going to keep trying. It's an easy way to get in more fruits and veggies (if I can make myself try some of the veggie ones lol).
I was an aqua queen yesterday. I jogged in the pool for 90 minutes, and then went back for aqua aerobics later in the day. Mike came with me for the aerobics class, which is really good for him. I almost didn't go, but I look forward to seeing all the people in class. We have a good group, and the conversations always make the time fly by. My son wants us to look for a spin class- I don't know if I'd survive that.
Happy Saturday!

Karen

Happy anniversary Donna and her dh!!! You must have been 12 when you married!! ???:)))))))

Been a very cloudy, dark day today - like Karen said the rain is gone but its now turned much cooler. I still haven't brought myself to make a smoothie -- I guess it's b/c I don't want to mix the ingredients then not like it....so I keep putting it off. Now my excuse is I'm waiting til summer so it'll be warmer ...ohhh brother! Now if 'someone' would make it for me -- then I'd prob. try it! One of these days I'll get brave - -and I'll take a picture!!

Tomorrow is A-zumba day...it seems like Saturday rolls around very quickly when you have something to do!

Have a great evening...

Karen your dog sounds like a hoot!!! Great name...Charlie.....
I lost my Fitbit when it was clipped to my pocket so now I wear it inside my panties or clipped to my bra. So far so good.

Today is a very special day for us. It is our 50th anniversary. Yes, I was very young when we got married. I thought I was all grown up!!!!! I guess in those days I was. Anyway it has been a wonderful ride and both of us would not trade it for anything. So today we are going to friends and tomorrow will be a very special dinner at a nice restaurant. I think it will be nice enough to sit outside outside.

I have tried commenting today on all your posts and have lost my message twice. sparks is not cooperating so this post will be short.....

Have a good day all....
