I work as a certified veterinary technician at a 24/7 emergency/referral hospital. I work 7:00pm-7:00am on Saturdays and 8:00pm-6:00am on Sunday-Tuesday. My husband is extremely supportive; he spends time with our sons (3 and 4) while I sleep on Sundays and after he arrives home from work on Monday and Tuesday. Our sons are both in pre-K and will be in school full day within the next 2-3 years so hopefully I can work during the day then when they're in school.

I work as a paralegal 40+ hours a week. I am a single mom so my schedule is a little funky but generally 8:30 every morning then 5pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and every other Friday. Wednesdays and Thursdays are my days where my son is with his father so I tend to stay later sometimes and get stuff done.

I work roughly 8-4 every day, usually through lunch. I commute a little more than an hour each way (more if traffic is bad), and have a daycare schedule to contend with - they are only open 6:30-6:30, so I typically drop the kids off at 7 and pick up around 5 or 5:30 (later if I have to stop at the store or something). My husband can sometimes pick the kids up or drop them off, if I have an early or late meeting or something, but his schedule is not very predictable...

I work a state job, so my hours are the "norm" I guess. 8-5 with a 1 hour lunch break. I usually get to the office around 7:30 because I get more work done before other people arrive, and I use my lunch break to run errands so I can go straight home after work.

Before I changed jobs, I was working 7/7:30 - 4/4:30, and even took lunch sometimes!
Now I work something like 7/7:30 to 4:30/5 (if I'm lucky) and I'm usually on a call during lunch (and, well, always). I also work at home several days a week, and those days the computer stays up and I work additional "when I feel like it" hours.
I'd like to get back to my original hours, since I would head to the gym after (I'm an evening workout person), but with teams an hour behind my timezone, that's never going to happen. Ugh.

Hello MOM_4_BOYS, I know it is hard to be away from the kids and know you have less time in the day for your workouts and convenience of being at home to make your meals and stay on track, i am in the same situation as you, i also am a mother of 2 boys and have been working full time night shifts believe me it's not that bad. I usually pick out my favorite meals and pre-make them in the begging of the week that way that is one less thing you have to think about and y you know exactly what calories you are consuming. I hope you like apples i use this motto as for snacks " if you are not hungry enough for an apple or any other fruit of veggie then you are not that hungry' it does get you thinking a bit. PLEASE do not skip meals it is not good for you. Just remember we are all not perfect do what you can do and best of all JUST BE HAPPY :) take care

Wow that is amazing that you can work that much and still manage to work out, That gives me motivation as well. I have a 6 year old and 11 month old that does not like to sleep as well. I work weird shifts as well as you do mostly nights and double shifts on sundays i know it is hard to find time to get motivated with kids and work. KEEP up the good work!!!! we can do it especially for our children. take care

I work Tuesday through Friday (I have been furloughed for almost 2 years now on Mondays - Sad) 6 am to 1 pm right now and will switch it to 6 am to 2 pm once my son starts kindergarten on the 14th. (Exciting times for our house and he turns 5 tomorrow! Time flies by with kids!)

I am a manager of a convenience store although luckily not a 24 hour one. Ideally I work 5 am - 2 pm but for the past few months we've been short handed so it's been more 5am - 5pm. I am supposed to work 45 hours usually it's closer to 55-60. I try to get up at 3 in the morning to get exercise and some alone time before work. Our evenings are usually filled with scouts, sports and choir/colorguard. I also have a 13 month old who still doesn't like to go to bed when I do but luckily my husband helps out since he's more of a night owl than me.

I admire those of you working and going to school at the same time you're raising your kids! OMG, I worked and did my master's and it was DRAINING! If I had to do both w/ my daughter I'd probably fail out.
I'm lucky to have flex hours at my job. I can come in anywhere between 7:30 to 10:30 and leave between 3:30 to whenever. I work from home 1 day a week too. I could make more money elsewhere but the flexibility keeps me here. We have good vacation and sick policies too. I'll probably stay here for a long time since I plan on having another LO in the next 4 or 5 years when my daughter is older (right now she's 17 mo.)

I'm not creating time to work out, and I'm eating terribly. Just re-joined this, and this might actually be my first post?

I start work@ 7:30am; work about 9 - 10 hours a day & usually work through lunch. My commute is another hour each way, so I'm away from home up to 12 hrs. / day; that is if my 4 yr old doesn't have soccer or dance, then its longer.

I currently work 7am to 430 pm and go to school in the evenings. After getting home, dealing with my wonderful boys, and cleaning it is 10pm. Then it is time for homework before doing it all again tomorrow. I have to find time somewhere in my busy day to work out. Any ideas?

I work 9:30am - 8 or 9pm.... whenever we finish with patients at least 3 days a week then i also sit on 2 councils that last from 8am-5pm.. then I do a teen bible study when i can 1 night a week and I belong to a "MOPS" group (mothers of preschoolers) we meet once a month for a couple hours.... I joined about 6 months or so ago... it is amazing.. i highly encourage you to google it and find a group near you.. Great support! Anyway... so we keep pretty busy.. I need to try to team up with another mom of when to switch off babysitting for the kids while each of us work out or get a running double stroller...lol.. I don't know the correct answer.. I will figure something out soon.. also need help trying to eat healthy.. seems like I end up eating a ton once i get home and have given the kids bathes..by that time it could be-9-10pm.. ugh! Should not be eating that late. My husband works nights leaves around 5pm and gets home around 8 am and is also in the airforce reserves.. so he is gone most of the time... Thank God.. we have a great babysitter that will keep them til I get off work but would prefer I drop them off as late as I possibly can I think...whew...sorry about the continuous blabbing.... felt good to vent though

I work M-F 8a.m. to 4:15p.m., then I work 3-4 days a week either from midnight until 7a.m. or 2a.m. until 7 a.m. so my typical work week is about 60-70 hours a week. Then I have to do all the cooking, cleaning and running the child to his basketball games/practices. Hubby is away for work all week so only comes back on Saturday for the weekend. Wish I had the energy to go to the gym but it's all I can do to feed the kid!

If my husband works, I handle getting the kids. He always takes care of dinner. I just bought Zumba for X-Box to use when I'm home. I also have the Zumba DVD's. I like the game better.
If my husband doesn't work, I'm at the gym right after work. I work at a hospital that provides a 'Wellness Center'. I do Zumba and Cardio there.

I work M-F 7:30 to 4p and try to schedule every other friday off. I commute about a 1/2 to work each day. My husband gets home an hour before I do. We trade cooking and cleaning duties and taking care of our 13 month old son. We have a pretty good system but I am still exhausted every day!

I work M-F 8am-5pm like 25 mins away from home. Some evenings i pick up the kids other days my husband does. By the time i get home its 5:30-5:40 and I start cooking, then I clean, I wash, take the kids a bath and by the time I know it its 10:00pm. I have no time.

I'm not sure...I work about 8-10 hours a week outside of the home but when I'm home...it's all day every day sporadically. Some days it's all day and some days it's barely anything at all.

I am an RN , I work m-f 7-3:30 most of the time I'm on call this week-end and praying ot to have to many call ins. I was off today d/t 16 hour business trip yesterday and back at it agian in the morning, keep your fingers crossed for no call-ins !!! I had a good day today very active and energized. I am prob the worlds worst dancer but today I turned the radio up while doing house work and danced all day, my son thought I was nuts !!! STill pumped and cant sleep yet.

First, let me say hello: this is my first day here. I work M-F 8 AM to 5 or 5:30 PM, but I also go to college. I am taking 6 credits this semester (2 classes). One is online - one is one evening a week. My Husband works about 60 hours a week, and is now beginning to teach two evenings a week! So I am having trouble finding time to take care of myself. And it SHOWS.
I work 6am to 3:30pm M-F. That makes for a 44 hour work week. By the time I get home to make dinner (my husband leaves for work at 6pm) I have barely enough time to spend time with my daughter in her activities before we head off to the bath then to bed. 4am comes very early just to make it to the shower, get ready, drop off daughter at preschool and be at work by 6-6:15am. Trying to find another work opportunity that will cut my hours so I have the time to workout after work before the hectic mom schedule kicks in.

I work from 7:30 to 3:45 Monday through Friday, but I am a teacher, so the time is really more like 7:15 to 4:00. I also work 45 minutes from home, so it is another 1 1/2 in the car.
I hate having to work so far away, but in this economy, beggers cannot be choosers. I do the best that I can. I am currently trying to work a gym schedule into the mix, so that I can get my 1 hour in everyday.
It comes down to a simple question: What do you want out of life, and What are you willing to do to get it?

I am a grad student, not technically working. However, I have classes for roughly 12 hours a week. I have counseling practicum (24 hours this semester) and school psych practicum (110 hours this semester). Each of my five classes has a minimum of 6 hours of additional work outside of class, so that's another 30 hours. Then there are the "big" assignments I ahve to work on each week, so add at least another 5 hours for that.

I'm a 8-5 Working Mom. And I always take an hr lunch-but lunch hr depends on the person I relive or what day is my turn.-this is always used for errands or simply go home and do some housework. I'm so happy that I have good hrs and live nearby. :)

I work 40 hours per week, 7am-3pm. I sometimes go in for a few hours on Sunday because it quiet and I can catch up on paperwork. I work in health care. Up until my husband went back to school 2 years ago, I worked 32 hours per week and it was so easier to balance home and work. I hope to cut back to 20 per week once hubby graduates in May.
