So sorry to hear about his arm. I hope he will heal quickly and not be in too much pain. My son has broken both of his arms, but is now fine. They take time to heal, but they heal well when they are younger.
I did a special breakfast complete with heart shaped waffles with fresh strawberries and tonight after dinner we will open gifts we have made for each other and the kids will show us the valentines they received at school.
Thank you for the coloring in food water tip. I will have to try that.
We don't have any traditions. Every year it's different. I bought some candy and red and white mugs for DH and children and cards and gave it to them morning. Tonight DH will probably bring me flowers. It's hard to make a special dinner with DD ballet tonight, so I told them because it's Valentine's Day, we are having a heart healthy dinner - fish. They did not find the idea as cute as I did. But, I might swing by the store on my way home and get some food coloring for pasta.

Does you celebrate Valentine's Day as a family? We have a tradition of having a special dinner. We use our fine china and decorate our dining room with baloons, a special tablecloth, and heart themed everything! Dinner features pink parmesean pasta and chocolate desert. We also give little presents to our children and a card. My babies are too young to appreciate it, but my step-daughter looks forward to it every year!
(By the way, I dye my pasta by putting food coloring in the cooking water.)
