Amy I could so do SA in December!! That would be awesome! I actually have a place to stay about 30 minutes from there so would be really easy for me!! I'm so excited!!!

Stayed home yesterday and slept all freaking day and night. Ate only toast all day. My stomach just didn't feel good and had a major headache. Martin had 2 helpers here at the shop so instead of suffering I just stayed home. Feel much better today. Have been slacking on my yoga so have to get back to that! Gonna just walk probably today and this weekend. Do have to work in the garden some too.

Ok, gonna go and start the new thread since I remembered that this is March...:)

Kelly - it will be so nice to have your mom with you for awhile, then to head home with her to check out where you'll be moving to! Sounds like it will be good for the hubs to have the one on one time with the kids while you get a chance to focus on you and your goals! And like I said, you will rock it. You're strong, inspirational, and motivated. You'll be a great trainer! :)

Terri - I'm sure the rest day was needed. Hope you're feeling better and back at it. Congrats on the weigh in! Keep it up, I know you can!

So I just realized that you are both Texas ladies. . . well, really, I knew that, but just connecting it with something I've got coming up. I posted about my Dirty Girl on my FB page, and a friend of mine from HS asked me if I wanted to do one with her in San Antonio . . . she's going there for reserves. It's Dec. 7 and I think I'm going to save up for a plane ticked and do it! You guys interested in making a road trip? That would be fun! :)

I'm so glad your momma is going to come stay with you for a bit. I know you are going to love that!! It will be nice just to have some help and company! So Will goes to San Fran next week? That is one place I would love to visit. And all expense paid is great since it is expensive to live there for sure.

Don't be nervous at all. I know you are going to wonderful on your test this weekend. Kind of sad for you though that it is all day when Will is home. And I hope your mom has safe travels. It's a long drive by yourself. The weather should be clearing up. Hard to tell here in Houston how bad it is everywhere because well it is beautiful here right now! Should be perfect when you come for Spring Break.

Hey gang :)

I will be so glad when this week is over! So busy!!! My mom is coming up (hopefully the weather and roads will cooperate for her to leave thursday morning) and she's staying with me for 3 weeks and then I'm gonna follow her home to Houston and hang out at her house for our Spring Break! I CAN'T WAIT to see her new house and check out the area where I'll be moving this summer.
My daughter has TCAP testing this week and the next two weeks.. She's holding up well :)
My son has Scouts Blue and Gold banquet and I've been working on table decor all week. I am finally done and ready to hand it off to another parent since I wont be able to attend the banquet. My test is Sunday.. I have lecture all day Saturday and Sunday. You guys, I am sooooooooooo nervous!!!!!!! Best part.... my hubs flys in on Friday morning and will leave on Sunday. I'll get to see him some with my crazy weekend schedule. But he'll get to go to our sons basketball game and also the banquet. He'll get good one on one with the kiddos. We are still waiting for background check,, but he has been asked to go to San Francisco for 30 days to help out on a job. This is huge recognition for him. It will be an all expense paid trip and he'll make really good money. And it gets him out of Vegas and away from his idiot roommates. :)
Headed to the gym soon... cardio of some sort today!

Terri--- WAY TO GO!!!! You're doing awesome, keep it up! I do like our group small too, but would be nice to have a couple more people show up. I will put it in my SPark status or something.

Amy--- Your trainer is rocking you! Love it!!!! So proud of you girl :) Good luck on your Dirty Girl Mud race! Sounds fun!!! I'm doing the Spartan in May.. Eekkks!

I had a wonderful weigh in today!! Below the 150 mark for the first time since last July. So pretty excited. Just hoping that it is not a fluke and I can maintain it!! Been more then usually tired this week. I had been working out daily for weeks and think it is catching up to me, so kind of keeping things nice and easy this week recuperating. Did yoga last night though. Took today off and will start again tomorrow!! Today will just work on keeping my steps close to 10000.

I love our small group but would like to see a few more people here. If we could get our old people back that would make me happy but not sure they will be coming back.

I try to promote our page. If you all would like to as well. Funny we have over 300 members but have no idea who most are. I'll always be here!!

Thanks for all of the encouragement ladies! I'm glad you're still here even if we can keep in touch on FB too . . . there's just something about coming here to check it that makes it seem like more accountability. I fell off the tracking wagon for a week or two, but after my success at the trainer, she decided to change things up for three weeks to see if we can get some more pounds off. We lowered the calories, carbs and fat, and upped the protein. So I'm back to tracking to try to reach the right numbers. I'm finding myself low on protein at the end of the day and not sure how to add more without adding more fat and carbs too. I'm usually good on all of those! Workouts are going well, but I just signed up for a Dirty Girl Mud Run in May so I really need to get my butt in gear and running regularly. Back to C25K for me. It worked before, it will work again. Wish that spring was here though . . . so much easier to get out there in good weather!

Kelly - you will rock the trainer test. Can't wait to hear about it! Hope you can get in some quality time with the hubby over the weekend too. You are one strong woman chica!

Terri - congrats on the 3-year smoke-free anniversary. That is an awesome thing to celebrate! :) Also impressed with the plank NSV! I've been improving on mine since working with the trainer, but haven't broken two minutes yet! You go girl!

So what do you think, ladies? Should we try inviting more people to the group? I could give a shout out on my FB page. I only have 144 followers, so I don't think it would create a HUGE influx of people but maybe a couple. I kind of like the small group thing anyway. Let me know!

well spark comes and goes, you have tons on your plate. I am afraid to admit it but think our group has died. That makes me very sad. Just not sure what to do actually. I'll still come in and post so anyone wanting to can still join me.

Shoveling is hard work!!! Hope Martin is well soon!

I'm here.. I'm just blah on Spark. Dunno what the deal is. Good workout today. Upper body weights, cardio on treadmill and rowing machine! Good sweat :)

My hubs bought a plane ticket this morning and will be here Friday-Sunday. I test for PT cert on Sun evening. My mom is driving up too! We've got a busy week and weekend ahead!!!

Amy...GREAT job on your inches and that belt!! Woo Hoo!!

I didn't do a lot this weekend. Went for a walk with my mom. It is never at record pace when walking with her but it is something. Then yesterday we gardened. Shoveled a truck bed full of chicken compost. So counted that as my physical activity of the day. Pretty much wore me out. Martin has been sick so that has been no fun. I swear he is always sick. Anyway, hoping for a good week! Need to do my yoga today since boy child was sleeping on couch again!!

I have had an ok week. I injured my toe on monday running, and been limping around all week.. I did strength training and also spinning in place of running.. Then I bough new shoes yesterday... SAUCONY!!!! ... and they rock! I ran this morning and am having no issues! Yeehaw :)

That sucks Kelly! Hard to plan when they can't get their crap together!!

And saw Amy did excellent on her weigh in and her fittness challenge. Woo Hoo Amy!!

I have to say in January I was doing my other challenge and choose to do planks for one particular thing. I could barely hold a plank for 1 minute with my arms shaking like crazy.

Last night I did one and held it for 2 1/2 minutes and could have gone longer probably but my wrists hurt more then anything. Going to try to increase that. Just had to share my NSV!!

Kelly, does Will get to come home and spend a bit of time before heading over?? I know how hard that will be for you! And you are getting so close to taking the test...woo hoo! You rock! Great job on your workout. I'm personally a bit excited that you might be moving to Texas...might have to work out with you some time!!

Doing good here. Last night walked 1 mile in 15 minutes. Haven't done that in a really long time, before my Avon walk I think! I walked a bit longer then that though but slower. Did 2 nice walks this weekend for 1 hour each. Really great weather.

Eating well and with in my range. Hoping for a decent weigh in tomorrow.

How is everyone else doing?? Are you moving today????

So so so so so sore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did upper body yesterday and it was awesome! I worked out with my trainer friend and showed her some of the moves I've been doing and she loved them! We're both sore today..

My hubs is at the Doc today getting his shots and physical for him to go over seas... omgosh, its getting so close. Trying real hard not to panic and hold it together, but I know I'm gonna break down before it's all over with.. He'll prolly end up leaving right around the time I'm going to take my PT test.. holy moses.

Hope you are all doing well! Looks like we're all struggling to get on sparks.. What is the deal??? I can't remember to get on here! Need to make a sticky note and stick it to my computer screen!! lol

Yea just being a full time mom with a husband that isn't there is hard enough let alone taking on the extra stuff that you did. I know you liked doing the boy scout thing but sometimes it is ok to let it go for your own sanity!!

Last night we went out for valentines day. Very odd though. Saturday night we went to this new restaurant. And it was amazing. So good. And for a small town it is noticeable when you get a really good meal. And Saturday was wonderful. So we thought ok we will take my mom out and let her eat a great meal. It was horrible. Like a totally different restaurant. Mine was like it was Saturday's food but heated up in the microwave. My mom had what I did Saturday. Her's was fishy, greasy and gross. I was so disappointed. But then on a good note I didn't stuff myself with food then either...lol.

Today did my yoga. Did pretty well. Seems I am able to do more and have less problems. I am going to throw some more cardio in through out the weekend too. I have a big challenge with my other group this weekend that I want to win. So going to push myself this weekend.

Amy: how did that valentine's date with the trainer go????

I also want to post this inspirational story. I had seen it on fb a while back but found it again yesterday. It is just amazing. If you ever felt like you couldn't do something check this out!!

Great job on the losses girls!!! :)

Kids and I had some leftover roast/veggies and for desert I splurged and bought us a MINI red velvet cake to share.. Sure was yummy! I already went through kids bags of crap candy they brought home from school and got rid of some it. I have Life Group tonight and I'm so excited to go.. I always feel better after fellowship. My hubs should be off work and then home and hoping to skype with him tonight for our "date".

I'm ok with not getting to go to Australia.. it's a bummer, but I hadn't got myself all psyched up about it yet.. the pay scale and tax process for him to go overseas is insane!!! so much paperwork. I stepped down from leading my son's cub scouts den also.. I had to let go of some of the stress.. Trying to keep positive about everything else is a full time job! ;)

Hello you all!! Happy Happy Valentines Day!! Are you spending it in a healthy way??? I won't have any chocolate and will watch what I'm eating. I think we are going out to a mediteranian restaurant tonight. Will try to make more healthy choices though and really try to stay away from the bread!

I had a good loss this week. Almost 2 pounds. And got on the scale again this am and it still went down. Super excited. But will be causious in my optimism. Did not do yoga this am and kind of mad at myself. I just didn't fall asleep last night till after 1. So waking up at 6 wasn't happening. Didn't think I would do good at it either if I was too tired. So going to try to talk Martin into letting me go home a bit early to do it before dinner. Today for my challenge group is tone and tighten thursday so will be doing all types of squats and pushups through out the day to get a good number.

Kelly, bummed for you on the Australia thing. But you know what looking back on things for you God seems to know what is best. Just like when you were going to buy that house and it didn't work out...good thing now when you look back. I know it will be so hard for you and Will but maybe Houston is a good idea. Be around your parents and get some support. And we will get to meet...woo hoo!!

Hi there - sorry I disappeared for awhile. Been crazy. Still getting all my workouts in and eating pretty well, but fell off the tracking for some reason. My trainer is not going to be happy when she finds out. Have to get back to it! Still, down another pound for last week. We'll see if I ruined it this weekend, but I'm pretty sure I did ok. Sore shoulders and legs tonight, and 15 cases full of Girl Scout cookies taunting me in my kitchen! Ha! Hope to get most of them delivered tomorrow.

Terri - I can tell you are enjoying that yoga! Glad you found something that is getting your day off to a good start. Hope things are going ok with your son being back and that the fight has smoothed over!

Kelly - ugh, so frustrating. I hope you all are able to get things worked out so it's not so stressful and emotional for you. I'm sure it will help to be closer to your mom, but I can't imagine how hard that would be. Keep up the good work studying for your PT exam! You are going to make a great trainer!

Sandy - Sounds like you are on a roll with the walking/running thing! Well, when the weather cooperates anyway. Hope you weathered the storm ok.

Well, no australia for me and kids.. that got squashed today! long story.. so back to plan A, moving to houston area to be close to mom. :)

Pilates on reformer today.. WOWWW! I love that dumb machine!!!

Terri, sorry you had a tough day! :( love that you're drinking ginger lemon water!!! I'm learning all about ginger and how good it is for you! hope things are going good with you and the mister again :)

OMG...you are thinking of going to Australia?? what an adventure honestly! That would be amazing Kelly. I just know how hard it will be on you to be separated all that time!! Good luck!

Yesterday sucked here. Big fight! they are fewer and farther in between these days but boy they ruin my day when they happen. Working on my yoga still. Did it this am and will walk tonight too on the treadmill. Haven't been pushing that as much since I am doing the hour every morning. But need to get back to doing at least 30 minutes of walking too. Eating ok. This weekend was not the greatest, but if the scale holds till tomorrow it will be a good weigh in actually...knock on wood!! Drinking a green monster this am and going to be drinking my ginger lemon water all day. Really really want a good weigh in.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!! How is everyone doing????

Ugh. Yesterday was rough rough rough.. Emotionally hanging on. My hubs last day in Cali has been changed again... He should have been home already.. They are still processin paperwork for Australia job. Once he does get home (Hopefully next weekend), he'll be home prolly a week before shipping out to Aus. Kids and I are possibly going now too. I've been looking at places to live over there.. Trying to figure it all out. Houses are cheap and SUPER nice!
I got in 4 hard workouts this week which left me sore and happy all over! Next workout is tomorrow. I've been studying like a freak too!! I take my personal training test March 3rd.. Yikes!!! It'll be here soooooooon!

Hello!! How are we all doing today??? Pretty good here! Nothing new to report. Did my yoga today. It was a bit easier today then yesterday. I am sore though!! Ate good yesterday. Did you all know that Luby's now has a healthy choice menu. All predone meals are under 600 calories. Of course when I got there they were out but the luann meals were only 3.99 and I picked baked chicken anyway so feel I did good.

Hope you all are having a good day!! What are the weekend plans????

Good morning everyone!! Feeling much better today! By the end of the day yesterday I had had enough. People were just driving me crazy. Went home climbed in bed and stayed there. Today the sun is out and it is much better! Woke up and did my yoga this morning. 3 days in a row. But my son should be coming back today. Will have to make him sleep in his room. He for some reason thinks the couch is much more comfy.

Sandy: the reformer is the original equipment made to do pilates. It originally was a program designed by a nazi concentration camp survivor. He made the reformer out of an old bed frame and springs. They have ropes and pulleys and you use your own weight and springs as resistance. The board slides up and down the frame. You can do all sorts of exercises with them. Quite awesome actually. Most pilates now is done on a mat with similar moves but not quite the same. Good for you for getting out and walking with weather like that. I am a woose.

Amy: I hope you are feeling better today! And not too beat up!!

Kelly what is on your agenda??

How are we doing so far this month?? I think I would give me an A-. I had a small piece of chocolate last night and didn't do anything when I got home. But not too bad.

Kelly - Glad you are back in full swing. I am interested as to what the reformer is. Please feel me in.

Terri - Sorry you had an icky day, but we are about to get 1 1/2 to 2 feet dumped on us this weekend. I would so prefer the rain!! LOL I hope you were able to warm up quickly. Try not to focus too much on the # on the scale. That is NOT the only thing we are doing here on Spark. We are getting healthy and FIT!!! Think about what you can do now and then look back could you do the same things as well 2 or 3 years ago? If not then you are doing GREAT and making progress emoticon

Amy - Great job on the declutering. All of this talk about it I think you all have motivated me to start working on it. I will have lots of time on my hands in 2 weeks, so why not put an hour a day to declutering. Thanks!!

Me - well yesterday I walked outside and with the wind it felt like 27! I am rather proud of myself for getting it done outside! Today I am going out to lunch with a former boss, so no walk. Then tonight I have to go to a wake, so no run tonight either. I have tomorrow off from work, so I plan on going to the store to get some esentails before the blizzard hits, and then hopefully get in a run if the snow isn't too bad. Then the weekend will be spent shoveling and more shoveling!!! Have a healthy and active day all!!

Hey everyone!! Nasty icky day here. Rainy and gross. I am soaked from head to toe basically and now cold!! But I whine and then think about where you all are and well I'll take my 1 icky day any time. Hopefully it won't last long and we really need all the rain we can get to get ahead of the curve. Don't want to be in a drought again.

My weigh in left me agitated. I gained almost a pound. Not sure why or what happened. Yesterday I was down a bit and today up. I ate really good yesterday too. I know it is just one of those things but darn it, it is frustrating for me. I went back and looked where I was 2 and 3 years ago. It is so disappointing to be back where I am. Going to do measurements maybe tonight so I can track what the yoga is doing. My next goal is to cut out the artificial sweeteners. So that will mean cutting out my coffee. I am not as worried about the caffeine with drawl just will miss the habit of drinking my coffee I think. But really want to get away from the splenda. And can't drink my coffee with out it so....bye coffee.

Yesterday I did my yoga and then after dinner came home and walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Found if I get my tablet out and read and put on my headphones and listen to music rather then watch tv the time went by so much faster. Did yoga this am! Great way to start the day!!

Kelly: so glad to have you back and in full swing and feeling better!! Glad you liked the reformer. They really are awesome. I would do it more with my friend if she didn't get on my nerves so much...LOL!!

Sandy: today is a new day! Every small step counts so 1 beer would be a NSV for you!! Have a good walk!!

Amy: the decluttering does feel so good to do. I am starting to take before and after pictures so I remember how bad it was to try to keep it from getting bad again. I know that 30 minutes a weekend will take me awhile to get it done but it helps me not feel so overwhelmed by it!

Anyway, hope you all have a great day!! And keep moving!!!

Welcome back Sandy!

I'm doing really well so far! Last week was rough getting back into the swing of things.. I tired easily. Well, not this week! Back to feeling like me and seriously kicking my own butt! I did legs on Monday.. Still sore! Then the pilates reformer on Tuesdy.. that was awesome!! I've always done mat pilates, like the reformer MUCH more! It's the same kind of moves, but with added resistance! I'll be back for more of that for sure! Today I did shoulders and arms and then sprints on the treadmill.. Bam! Feeling good! No coughing.. lungs/chest feels good. Juicing like crazy and absolutely believe the added veggies are helping me! I juice about once a day.. burping after a juice made with cucumber.. eewww!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Amy - I am not tracking this week, just working on tracking my water and my freggies. Next week I will start tracking again. Babysteps here!! Wow way to go on getting up to 10K. I hope to get some training Friday AM before the snow starts to fall here. I know training in the cold is just horrible, but I don't have a gym membership, so I have to do it outside. Keep up the good work with the treadmill, and tracking. 6 1/2 lbs lost in January is GREAT emoticon I think I gained in Jan, so be proud of those 6 1/2 lbs!!!! emoticon emoticon I will check in with you to make sure you are still pushing forward. I try and just take it in small increments. Say when you loos 10 lbs reward yourself with something. Then the next 10 lbs and so on. That way you are focusing on the small goal and before you know it you are only 10 lbs away from your goal weight!!! I know it is hard, but know you can do it!!!!

Terri - I didn't make healthy choices last night for dinner, but I only had 1 beer, so that is good. How did you do at Chill's last night? I love there chips and salsa, and the margaritas emoticon

Me - well I faced the scale and it was up, but only 0.6 and since I didn't get in all my water over the weekend and I did drink A LOT of wine! I am moving on from the scale and not letting it get me down. My walking buddy canceled on me today, but I will get in a 30 min today. Most likely have to do laps inside today, as it is a bit too chilly to just walk. Well I am off to get my walk in.

Hi Sandy! Iím Amy. Iíve been in and out of the chat room too. But Iím back now. Iím in my late 30ís with two kids, 14 and 7. I fell off the wagon too, but Iím getting my groove back. Tracking and planning meals/snacks is really helping me, but I know how tough it is when thereís a night out. Youíve got to do it though, your mental health is important too! I know how much a ladies night helps me. Iím a C25K runner too . . . got the whole way through the program and the Bridge to 10K, but then lost it all. Iím really wanting to get back into it, but being from the NW (PA) too, this weather is not encouraging me at all. Iíve done a little treadmill work this past month, but not the actual program yet. I know it works!

Kelly Ė sounds like you are starting Feb. off strong! How did that Pilates machine work? Sounds interesting. Hope you are sleeping better and feeling yourself again!

Terri Ė way to go on that clutter! Iím going to try to get my bedroom closet done this weekend Ė again. It always ends up a mess for some reason. Hope you are able to find a good time for your yoga and walking. Itís hard when our schedule is disrupted! How did your official weigh in go?

It seems like my training sessions and re-commitment to healthy choices and tracking nutrition are paying off. Iím down 6 Ĺ pounds for January, and I can now button the coat that I got for Christmas! I was kind of hoping to see a bigger loss (arenít we always!) but I know Iím on the right track. This is such a mind game for me! Itís so easy to let myself think, ďYeah six pounds is great and all, but youíre STILL over 210 pounds! There is still so much to lose. Itís going to take forever and lots of hard work!Ē Iím trying to celebrate my accomplishments and think positively, but those thoughts still lurk around in the back of my mind. I created a Facebook page for support and to hopefully encourage others, and thatís helping because Iím hearing other peopleís positive words towards me, but also Iím seeking out positive quotes and pages to share for them as well. Iím going strong on working out 5-6 days a week and Iím excited to see what February will bring! Happy hump day everyone!

Dinner out is always so hard especially when there are items that are not good for us! Good luck with that and getting that walk in! We will probably end up at chili's tonight. I get the same thing most every time so that I know how much it is. Have a good time though!

Terri - I know what you mean about having others on the couch and not being able to work out with them there. I hope to get in a walk today for my lunch, but it has been so crazy busy today. I have a walking buddy, and I have changed the time on her 2 times allready. Hopefully I can get the walk in @ 3 today. Tomorrow is my weigh in day also. I am going out to dinner tonight, so I need to be sure to get in ALL of my 80 oz of water before I head out with the girls. I am not sure how healthy I will be when ordering tonight, but I will be thinking before I order. I just love some of the items on the menu and I know they are NOT healthy. Still thking of what I might get. Good luck with your weigh in, I will be back tomorrow to let you know how I did with weigh in and my food tonight.

Sandy, it's so good to see you back!! Been quiet around here so you didn't miss much! So sorry to hear about the job loss! But you seem to have a good attitude about it. Being unhealthy isn't going to help the situation that is for sure. We are glad to see you back!!

I ended up taking the day off yesterday. My son sleeping on my couch has not helped my yoga efforts this week. I am thinking I am going home early today so I can do it and walk some too. Need to get in as much as I can for tomorrow's official weigh in. Right now I am down a tad from last week. Hope that I maintain that!

How is everyone else doing so far????

Hello All, I have been away from the team for a while, so I am trying to get back into sparking with my teams daily. It has been a while, so here are the details that are me. My name is Sandy, I am a 43 year old Mom of 2 kids. Son 13, daughter 11, been married for 18 years. I lost 75 lbs a few years back and yup I gained a good part of them back. I am back on track to try and loose these extra lbs. I have about 4o to 50 to go. I just got my 30 day notice from a company I have worked at for 23 years. I have 11 days left here then I am unemployed and need to find a new job, and don't want to let my weight and health goals slip during this time. I have started C25K training and am on week 3. I live in the North East and HATE the cold. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Hi team!

We had an awesome time at superbowl party.. amazing GOOD food too! I went to the gym this am for leg day... ouchieeeeeeee! Trying out a new pilates class tomorrow.. it's on a pilates reformer machine.. I didn't know there was such a thing so excited to try it out.

Good to hear you are ridding the clutter, Terri! Enjoy your yoga and walk! I didn't sleep at all last night either.. here's to sleeping tonight!

Good afternoon ladies!! How is everyone???? Did you have a successful super bowl party evening??

We didn't do anything so I did. I made a good dinner so that I would have the munchies or something during the game. Had lots of veggies and fruit yesterday. Walked a few miles, nothing exciting but it wasn't bad. Also worked on my decluttering. Started working on my entry way closet. Threw away 3 trash bags of stuff. Amazing what you find in some of those deep spots. I had kept phone books from 1993 from Houston. They were huge. Now I remember keeping them years ago, but why I have lugged them from different houses I'm not really sure. Crazy. Oh and the old cell phones. I found 2 that weigh like pounds...LOL! One even predigital. Must have been my very first one. Anyway, stuff is being thrown out and cleaned up. Gonna take me another day though to go through the old filing cabinet and then file all the new papers. But making progress.

Ok, busy here today! Gonna walk and maybe do some yoga this evening. Didn't do yoga this am. Didn't sleep at all last night so couldn't get up. But back at it later! You all have a great day!!

Let's strive for all A's this month!!! We can do it!
