I give myself an incomplete on the month..

Thank goodness tomorrow starts a new month! I need a new beginning. I made it to gym on tuesday and havent been back since. Will try to go in the morning.. depends on my cough. Dang cough. The weather here isnt being nice to me and my cough/chest.. it's ok though.. getting back to me slowly but surely. Absolutely will not overdue. I am planning on steaming my whole house tomorrow! Floors, countertops, all of it! Get all the nasty germs out of here.

Looking forward to the superbowl this weekend and hanging out with friends. My hubby should be home in around 2 weeks and then will ship out to the land down under.. don't have any more details than that right now.. it's driving me bonkers.

Doing ok today, but feeling a bit off. Of course, its TOM so no wonder. As far as the month goes, I'd give myself a B. I haven't missed a workout yet, been tracking and eating well MOST of the time. But I think mentally I'm not quite there yet. Somewhere in my brain, I'm thinking sure, you can do this for a month, or maybe even three. But can you REALLY do this? Negative thoughts like dwelling on the fact that even after I loose 35 pounds, I'll still only be at the point where I gave up a few years ago. If you're on my FB page you know that confidence is something I'm working on. It's going to be a battle though. Can't get an A until I get that down!

Hope you all had a great month. Looking forward to seeing what we can do in Feb.! :)

Hi ladies!! How are we today???

So how would you rate your January?? I am giving me a C. I started off rocky but picked up steam the last few weeks. I haven't cheated and I started my yoga. But because of the beginning of the month not going to consider it a great month.

I did receive my Yoga work out in the mail yesterday. It is a lot more then just yoga. It has personal challenges too like no news challenge. No computer challenge. You all know from FB that that might be to much for me to give up...LOL. Also no drinking your calories...ugh there might go my coffee. Not sure yet though. I really like my coffee in the am. It is my one vice I am not sure I can give up. But I am going to try a few of the things. Not starting it till Monday though because it has a day off every 7 days and I want my day off to be Sunday.

Woke up and did my yoga today too. so sore from it. But still trying. It is kicking my butt. I was much more out of shape then I allowed myself to believe again. Kind of had my head in the sand on that one.

Anyway...hope you all are good!!!

Amy, you cracked me up! Talk about not doing anything this weekend, I barely got out of bed on Saturday. When I looked at my fitbit tracker I was embarrassed by the amount of NO activity I actually completed. I have to figure out how to motivate myself on the weekends too. I am doing the 5 day 20 minutes streak and since I worked out all last week I rationalized it in my head. NOT a good thing when we have a goal. This weekend I will do something at least one day for sure. Get really mad at myself after the fact.

So glad you had a nice date night! And stayed away from the popcorn. I eat that and 5 pounds later it takes me weeks to get it off again!

Had a good weigh in. Down from last week, yea!! Just so want to get back in the 140's soon!!

The yoga I have been doing Amy is Kurt Johnson's Yoga for Life on the Veria Channel. Now they are only showing him occasionally. I tried the other people they put in his place and hate them. So did some searching was just going to try to pick up a dvd or something from him. Ends up he has an entire 60 day program. It's called APY60. Here is the link to the amazon site.

He is the yoga instructor for the dallas cheerleaders too. I like him because he describes stuff good and is easy to follow. I have tried others and just do not like them at all. The only other one I have liked is Bob Harper's BL yoga. I didn't get my package yesterday, I'm hoping today!!

Iím here, Iím here! I had a good weekend, but Iím finding itís harder for me to motivate myself to exercise then. I have my scheduled appointments M-F at the gym, but Sat. and Sunday Iím on my own. Didnít do a darn thing this weekend. Well, some laundry. Had a good time on date night, I cooked dinner at home from a recipe I found on Skinnytaste, and I was full enough that I passed on the popcorn I had totally planned on splurging on at the movies! Yay me! Itís my biggest weakness. We saw Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and it was entertaining but not great, plus it was one of those movies that didnít really need to be in 3D so it was like paying the extra upcharge for nothing. I told hubby that next time weíre doing a romantic comedy! Heís so not into that! So far so good this week. My arms are so sore I can barely lift them after Monday and yesterdayís training sessions. Today is cardio only so my poor arms can take a break. Doing an incline treadmill interval session after work. Tracking and eating is going well too BUT weíve got dinner at my mother-in-lawís tonight and Iím pretty sure sheís making a big old lasagna. My PLAN was a Chicken Divan casserole with lots of broccoli from Skinnytaste.com (have I mentioned I love that site??), but itís grandma (in-law)ís birthday so what can you do? Iím just going to eat a small piece and hope she has a salad to go with it. Maybe pack my own dressing, although I kind of hate doing that when someone invites you to dinner.
Terri Ė way to go on the yoga and decluttering! Can you share the name of the yoga program you are using now and the one that you just ordered. Itís something Iíve been interested in trying out, but I did not like the one we did with P90X. Maybe yours is better. And by the way, I noticed on my friend feed that you had a good weigh-in too! Go you!
Kelly Ė wow girl, you had it bad! Iím sure the stress did not help one bit, so even though you were pretty sick Iím still glad you went to visit your hubby. That stuff is just as important to our health as anything else! So glad that you are feeling better and taking it easy while you get back into things. :)

Kelly it's ok, it was mostly me. Amy some too. Been super quiet here. So glad you are feeling better. And well sounds like you needed your man to help you get better. Maybe why you had gotten so bad to begin with. If I were you it would be a slow and easy week for me to get my body back up so you don't get that crap again!! Not something you need.

I am feeling pretty good actually. Yoga daily is so wonderful. I think it was the missing piece. Once I set my mind to it and got my butt up it has been easy actually. Not the yoga but the getting up part. I was usually just laying there anyway trying to go back to sleep. It just makes for a wonderful day waking up and doing something. I did order a yoga program that I am pretty excited about! I think it will be delivered today. What I can tell already is that I am sitting up more, using my abs more. Been sore and as you like to say it feels awesome! I suck at it but hopefully will get better!

Eating really well too. No cheating for 2 weeks. hopefully the scale will be kind to me. Since we know when I gain due to water or whatever it doesn't go away easy. Anyway, get some rest and have a great day!!!

Hi! I have some catching up to do! I though the flu would kill me dead! I had it for 7 days and thought I was getting better, then woke up not hardly able to breathe, passed out in the shower, and was seriously in trouble... I got to urgent care and doc said i had serious bronchitis, very close to pneumonia. I got antibiotics, inhaler, and codiene cough syrup.. Feeling much better now! I had let stress take a huge toll on me.. I was having major withdrawls from hubby, bought kids and I a plane ticket and went to vegas over the weekend! i was in urgent care on thursday and left on the plane on friday.. maybe not the smartest thing, but i needed my husband. I'm all better now.. Still using inhaler though. Home now and getting back to routine. Will take it easy in the gym..

I gotta catch up here.. so sorry for my absence.. Hope everyone is well : )

Hello everyone!! Hope you had a good weekend!! Kelly is in Vegas so she is enjoying some time with her man! Know she needed that!!

What is everyone else doing??? Honestly I was a lazy brat this weekend. Didn't do a darn thing. BUT I did work on my cluttering stuff. Did some of my cabinets in the kitchen that hadn't been touched in forever. They somehow had turned into the catch all for medication. Threw enough old medicine out to stock an entire town I think. Just surprising me with what I am finding. Sad honestly.

Ok, so what's on the schedule for today?? Did some yoga this am. Going to walk later. Have a few things to do today for my other group including a blog. Trying to make it a great day!!

Hey you all!! So not a good day here! We have fallen victim to a scam. Feel so freaking stupid. A customer called Martin yesterday saying he had found a great deal on a classic car. We don't know this guy very well but he has been at our shop before. He travels and martin told him if he ran into a good deal to call. Well he did. He said it was in Dallas. This little old lady was selling it. Blah blah blah. Martin thought he was covering himself getting his name, age, dl# ect. Well he wired him $275 to make a down payment on said car. Guess what, dude picked money up in Austin. Not even in Dallas and surprise his phone is now off. And I did a search on the dl# and NOPE doesn't exist. Feel so freaking dumb. I didn't say much when this was happening. I actually was unsure about it, but Martin was all gung ho. And well hard to change a man's mind. But if something seems too good to be true...well it is!!

So that has put me in a piss poor mood for the day! Think I will walk tonight if we ever get out of here. Getting late and Martin is still working on a job. So we will see! Ugh...hate feeling like this!! Anyway, hope all is well with everyone!!

Ha! My mornings are too crazy to do ANYTHING for myself! But I'm headed to the trainer after work today. Should be a good one! After my son's wrestling match we are going to dinner with friends and I'm surprised how worried I am about it. I know we have to let ourselves relax and just try to make healthier choices and not worry so much about the numbers sometimes. But I've looked at the menu and pretty much anything I choose is going to put me over. It's a little local place so no actual nutritional info, but I can make some good guesses. Ugh. I could make this my splurge for the week, but I've got a date night with hubby on Saturday and was really hoping to splurge on some movie theater popcorn! I know, it's so horrible for you but it's my biggest weakness. Anyway, I'm just going to do my best and forget the rest - the wise words of one of my trainers!

Glad you enjoyed your yoga session Terri! It does feel so good to get back into something that we enjoyed but didn't really realize how much we missed.

Hey Amy!

Those streaks are hard. My goal is to make it 5 days a week at least 20 minutes. If I went every day not sure I would ever make that. Seems I need a day off just to recoup. Todays weigh in was not great. up again. UGH!! But what ever, you all know i'm not going anywhere. Just keep trudging along. I just wish I could figure out exactly what it is. I have past my 3 year healthy journey anniversary. It was about 3 years ago this week that I decided to change my life. I was over 162 pounds. Disappointing that I am not closer to my goal still but hey, it is what it is. I keep going back to see what I was doing then to lose weight. I happened pretty easily up to a certain point then and then it just stopped. I would be happy to get back to where it just stopped too...lol. Funny how that wasn't good enough a few years ago but would love it now. Was talking to Martin about it a few days ago and he was very sweet. Told him I had gained about 20 pounds back. He had no idea. He was like I thought maybe it was 5. You still look great to me. Awe, sometimes he is sweet...LOL.

I think Kelly must still be pretty sick.

I totally get the clutter thing and only starting one thing at a time. I am doing very small projects. NOT going to let it overwhelm me or give me something else to worry about. It sure felt good though to start.

Well keep up the great work with the trainer!!

Terri - Clutter is one of my struggles too! One of these days I'll start attacking it, but I can only focus on so much at a time. Good for you for starting to take control! As for that karma story, I've noticed that while it might take some time, karma does have a way of sneaking up on people. I'm glad that you are in a good place now and don't have to live with that stress anymore! :) Way to go on your walking too - keep it up!

Kelly - how are you doing? Feeling any better? I'm glad to know you have good friends who are helping you out. This flu bug that is going around is really knocking some people off of their feet!

Anyone else still here??

As for me, broke my sneaker streak this weekend. All day wrestling tourney for my son, then a going away dinner for my sister. But I got back to it on Monday and started again at one. I have a training session scheduled for today, so it will be 2! Work is stressful, crazy, and overwhelming. But I'm taking it a day at a time and planning what I can. Speaking of planning, meal planning is still going well. I'm hoping that I've got it down (pretty much) now, and that it won't be a big struggle anymore. I'm still wanting to get back into running - outside - but haven't gotten that first step out the door yet. Of course these negative wind chill temps are not too motivating! I am planning on doing a 5K on Sunday in support of the Sandy Hook Elementary school, but it will be mostly walking I think. I'm shooting for completing 13 organized runs in 2013, so I'm going to have to get going soon! :)

Hope all is well with everyone. For the QOTD - my thing I did for myself this weekend was host a Silpada jewelry party! Got in some good chatting time with family and friends, and will walk away with a good bit of free jewelry, what's not to love!

Good morning everyone!! How are you doing???

Ok, here. Had a nice weekend. Didn't do much. I did however walk every day. I also worked on my decluttering. Spent about an hour cleaning out from under my bathroom cabinets. I think I had enough smelly fruity lotion for 100 people. seems that I get a basket of it every year for Christmas and it just isn't something I use that much of. Threw away 1 1/2 bags of crap and had 1 box to go to the garage sale/donation pile. And now have pretty clean cabinets. Yea!! Next week I think I am going to do my kitchen upper cabinets. There are a few I have not touched in along time. And maybe the junk drawer. I also got to spend about an hour or so sitting in my swinging chair that I got for Christmas. The weather was really really nice. Knock on wood. Supposed to be good all week. I plan on walking again tonight. At least a mile. Might even do some yoga when Martin goes to his Ti Chi class. Was going to start this morning. I was totally awake, but Cameren was sleeping on my couch. So for sure tomorrow morning. Not going to keep wasting my mornings laying in bed wishing I was asleep. Just going to start getting up. 4:30 today was a bit early though!!


Ok, thought I would share with you all about my Karma experience. My son is living with his dad and wife. Well apparently his dad caught the wife having an affair with her trainer!! I had to laugh honestly. The 2 of them made my life hell 20 years ago when they started their fling. Just saying, Karma will always come back to bite you. I do feel bad though for their daughter. She is older and very aware of the situation. It's kind of warped I'm enjoying this right...LOL!

Ok, enough gloating...lol! Ate really well this weekend. Did not splurge at all. Even passed on bread a few times with dinner. Cooked at home too. Eating out is killing us.

Amy: Sounds like you are totally motivated! that is great!! A schedule every day sure does help. Especially if someone is waiting on you. Hard to back out when it is an appointment. I know I need to kick stuff into a higher gear. This bit of walking and stuff is not working yet for me.

Hey everyone! The trainer is good but keeping me busy! Iím in the training studio after work 5 days a week. They arenít open on the weekends, so Iím on my own for cardio then. Iíve been filling it with Zumba or Just Dance sessions on the Wii with Gabby, but Iím itching to start running again. There is some sort of fear holding me back and I canít figure out what it is. At the trainer, I am working one-one-one for three sessions a week, hitting major muscle groups with core and cardio intervals. Then I am there for two cardio sessions a week. Itís a lot, but I am finding I like making it a part of my daily routine. I have scheduled appointments and I know thereís someone there waiting on my (and my husband at home waiting to ask how it went) so the accountability factor is high up there. Iím meeting with the main trainer today for a follow up nutrition counseling session, so weíll see what she has to say about that. Iíve been tracking! If you remember my struggles with that, you know thatís a minor miracle for me! Iíve also decided to keep a ďsneaker streak.Ē How many days in a row can I lace up my sneakers for at least 15 minutes of exercise? Most days are more than that, of course, but on an off day where I just donít feel like doing it, I think 15 minutes should count. So far Iím up to 16 days (started Jan. 2). Yay!

Kelly Ė WHAT?!?! Austrailia?? I hadnít seen anything about that either. How crazy is that? Iím sure that will be tough, and I second what Terri said about being impressed that you donít let it get you off track with your nutrition and fitness. You are amazing with that. It will be nice for you to be close to home again though. My parents are a big support system for me, and Iím sure things will be better for you with them nearby. Did I see something about you being sick too? How are you feeling?

Terri Ė Hope that your mom is doing better now after her surgery. Howís it going with that treadmill? Iím jealous of your 60 degree weather. The high is only 32 here today, and to get colder through the weekend. Ugh.

Janet Ė if youíre reading this, know that we will miss you (although Iíll see you on FB!) but I understand about needing to get your priorities straight. Iíll echo Terri, though, and remind you not to forget to take care of yourself. That can be very easy to do, I know. Hope to hear from you again before too long!

As far as getting more traffic here, what about doing some sort of challenge? Not necessarily fitness related all the time, but like finding and posting a motivational quote or trying a new recipe or food and posting about it. Or maybe a question of the day? Just some ideas. Have a good one everybody!

Janet: I already left you a comment...but please don't give up on you!! You have to make sure to take care of yourself too or you won't be good to Elliot in the long run!! We love you and will always be here for you!! Hugs my friend! At least we still have words!!! :)

Kelly: yuck to a sick kid! Never fun....although I think I have mentioned this before after they get older it is kind of the only time they want mom time. At new years this year my 24 year old was sick for his bday...but he wanted me to take care of him. even let me rub his back. I don't get that kind of time at all any more...LOL!! I'm a bit warped...haha!!

Ok, well ate good yesterday. Today started back to doing something. Doing squats and wall push ups all day as part of my challenge. Going to walk I think tonight too. The weather has turned out to be pretty good. 60's and the sun is shining. I love the sun!! I have had to strip cloths off all day...LOL!!!

How can we get more traffic through here?? how can we help you all on your journey?? Let us know if there is something you are missing!!!

Hi ladies,

I'm going to take a Spark Break for a little while. I'm finding it very difficult to handle work and having our grandson full time. I'm sure that I'll figure it out - I'm getting a lot of support from our family but WOW ... it's wild having a 15 month old in the house again.

On a positive note, all sons (including son#2) are on good paths. We are thrilled.

I'll miss you all but I know that I'm friends with some of you on facebook so we'll be able to keep in touch.

Prayers for a speedy recovery for your mom!

Will keep ya posted on the juicing.. So far so good. Have only tried two recipes so far.. A detox one and a green one. Neither tasted GREAT, but they were both drinkable! The way I see it, I'd rather drink the juice than eat the stuff I'm juicing...

Sick kiddo home from school today so workout at home.. boring. I missed the weight room.

I don't have a juicer but a vitamix blender. it does everything. keep us posted on the juicing. would love to hear what you are doing. need to add some more of that type of thing back in my diet. have gotten way off my super healthy eating and not liking it. up a bit in my weight today for my weigh in. but not too bad. Like I said I didn't eat well this last weekend at all!!

Today spending taking care of my mom. she had a minor surgery today. thought it wouldn't be too bad but she is in pain and doesn't do that well. Anyway, hope everyone is doing good!! Where is everyone else???

I haven't mentioned it to anyone really.. Just my mom and best friend.. He's still working in Cali and we're just waiting for the next assignment.. I'll letcha know for sure when we figure it all out :)
I'm looking forward to Texas definitely!

Excited for you to get out the treadmill and walk some miles! Hope your chili was yum!

Oh! I bought a juicer today! Exciting! I made a detox juice this afternoon and it was pretty tasty! If anyone juices and has any tips, lemme know! Thanks!!

Well darn Kelly you haven't shared all that information. Australia?? OMG, that is not even close. Will he get to come home occasionally?? I just can tell this is wearing on you especially not having any help. Houston would be well Awesome!! At least that way your mom and dad will be here to help too!! And we are not quite as cold as you. Although we complain about it a lot!! My friends in Wy make fun of me because at 40 I am freezing and well that is almost spring for you all!

Anyway, know we are here if you need anything! Hugs!!!

Weigh in tomorrow! Afraid honestly, although the last few weeks have shown no gains so that is good. Going to eat well tonight, made lean chili! Yummy!! Still not working out yet but that all changes tomorrow! Have to get the treadmill back in place! Too cold outside right now!

Yep, i hear ya.. weekend checking in is rough for me too. Yay for your challenge starting! Exciting ! :) And we're freezing up here in Colorado for sure.. Sub zero temps tonight and we were 2 hours delayed for school this morning and again tomorrow. Yippy. It throws my schedule off..

My hubs will be home who knows when.. and his next job is looking to be in Australia. Ain't that grand. We're unsure right now so just going through everything day by day. He got his passport and we're waiting on he work visa.. It's a camp status job, not family so kids and I are moving at the end of the school year.. Back to Texas! YAHOO! I'm looking for a house close to my mom down around Houston. I'll keep ya posted, Terri :)

I'm here, just off for the weekend! Hate posting during the weekend. Don't have a computer at home that really works and my tablet just makes it take forever!!

How is everyone??? well my challenge starts this week so will be getting back on the wagon of my eating and working out. Going to try that streak one more time. Not sure why 20 minutes a day seems impossible to follow through on.

How is your weather?? freaking freezing here!! Had to pull out my Carthard overalls. They feel like they weigh a ton and are hard to get around in. But keeping me warm!! Which in the end is what I want.

Amy how is the trainer working??

Kelly: when is Will coming home?? I know this has to be draining you!! You are awesome in not falling back into poor habits when you are down. I know I would probably not be doing as well as you are! Keep your head up!!!

Ok, well hope all is well!!! Check in people...this is a new month a new year!! Thought we would have some more activity!

Are you guys watching Biggest Loser this season?? What did you think of Jillian??
I thought she was AWFUL!!!!!!!! I quit being a fan of hers a while back and then to see her back on the show and act the way she did.. I was just ICK. A couple of the contestants said they like her style.. but I think it's horrid. Just my thoughts.. I'm def team bob and dolvett... and they're nice to look at! hehe

I haven't been to the gym once this week and have decided to just finish the week off and take a break. My daughter has a fungal skin infection and she's been home from school the first part of the week and so I hung out with her at home.. She's doing much better and is at school now :) I'm struggling with stress.. My whole body is just drained. I can't sleep and I haven't eaten much this week either. One day at a time.. I had a good conversation with my hubs last night and he thinks I should maybe go see the doc.. Ugh. I know the doc will give me a prescription. I don't want that. I'm going to get my journal back out and start writing in it daily.. it always seems to help. and like I said.. One day at a time. I know that if I can get to bed at a normal time and get some decent sleep and back on my routine, I'll feel much better. This isn't me at all and I hate being a downer.... So the goal today is to stay awake! No naps and go to bed early.

Thanks soooo much Amy for the message on my FB wall.. It brought tears to my eyes and was very sweet of you.

Hi Terri! Hope the BLC goes well for you. I haven't done well with those the last few times. Too much drama on the teams I was on. Good luck with the streak, you can do it!

Today was my "off" day from the trainer, but I still had cardio to do, so I did my intervals on the treadmill. That thing is rough, I'm such an outdoor runner. But it was good to get back into it because although I still consider myself a runner (once, always) I haven't done it in awhile. I can't wait to get worked back up to being able to run a 5K! Another training session after work tomorrow.

I've been doing really well with my tracking and eating too. If you remember from before, that was always my struggle. I do find myself having a hard time hitting the amounts my trainer said I should have, but I'm working on it. I know it will take some time to get it down!

Hope all is well with everyone else. It really is quiet in here! :)

Hey everyone!! Hope you all are doing good! Weighed myself again today. And haven't gained or lost. Which I am good with right now. Next week we start the BLC challenge again.. That always helps me stay motivated. Going to try to do the streak thing again, 20 minutes 5 imes a week. Haven't been able to finish a challenge with a streak yet...but that is my goal!!

Quiet here. Hope everyone is doing ok!!! What are you doing for yourself today???

First official training session today! We did arms and core and wow I won't be able to move 'em tomorrow! :) It will be interesting to see how I feel walking in there tomorrow, but at least we will be working legs! Well, my daughter is sick and home from school all this week.. sucks. This is first week back after Christmas break and she's got a skin infection. :( So no gym cause she's home with me. Will have to do some at home workouts this week until she's well.

Good morning everyone!! Well I finally had the guts to step on the scale this am. Pretty happy to report exactly the same as I was on the 19th. So that makes me one happy camper!! No gain. I think for the holidays that is a good goal!!

I did write a blog this week about my "Christmas" present from Martin. And what I kind of want to accomplish this year! Going to try to blog through the year on my progress on that goal. I am looking to unclutter my life. I just have to. I think carrying the clutter with me leads me to be overwhelmed and it doesn't help my journey.

Anyway, hope you all are having a good day! What are you doing to make it a healthy day???

Been a horrible day here! Icky weather, broken equipment. Fighting panic attacks all day on my end. Sort of got worked out towards the end of the day. But still not the kind of day we needed to have. Hopefully it will get better!!

Hey gang!

Apologies for my absence.. I've been very busy with family time. :)

My husband left today to go back to work.. blah. We had the best time ever though the last week and a half! We had a wonderful Christmas and my hubs kicked my butt at the gym! I thought my workouts were hard.. Baahahahaha! His are killer and I loved every minute of it!
