Well the crazy weather and rain finally stopped.I had a blast with the grand kids, but it is good to be back home again. Got home early enough to do a two mile run with Cleo. Although I got plenty of exercise with the kids, it is just not the same. Plus it was hard to eat right. Tonight I made a nice low fat, low cal meal for dh and myself. I could only muster up time for a quick sandwich with Almond butter with the kids, and Abby ate all my low fat chicken meat:-) oh and they ate my grapes too:-) too funny:-) Even the baby ate my banana. Oh well..as long as I got them to eat, I didn't mind.
My scale was up after being down. I am beginning to believe it is broken..lol..how could it be me?? Seriously, I know I say it a lot, but I really should just throw the darn thing away!
Sounds like everyone is off on a good start for this month!! Let's keep the streak!!!

Terri, a week long streak of yoga is probably just what you needed. Keep it up!

Diana, your posts inspire me to cook more and congrats to DH on his weight loss. You are both doing great!

Janet, consistency is key; great job.

Angelika, good plan and good luck. You can do it!!

For Wed and Thurs: Walks outside both days for an hour plus ST, ate at high end of calorie range on Wed and low end on Thurs, but did great on water both days.

We're going to Parent's Weekend at Penn State this weekend to see my older son so I will be MIA unless I use his laptop.

Team, have a great and healthy start to October this weekend!!

Julie

Here we are on the last day of Sept. I did 30 min on my eliptical this morning, and ten min of dance. Been cooking soup, and made two low fat treats for dh. He has lost 20 lbs..can you believe it? He needed to do so, although he still misses hiding behind his big belly. All he did was cut down trees and make fire wood..lol.
Raining like crazy here from the tropical storm that came up the coast line. Going to do some reading now. But think I will do some yoga later.

Hi everyone!

Angelika: I'm fighting the same battle. But what I am finding this time around is the desire to still be healthy. This last weekend when I didn't do so good, it didn't even dawn on me to not go back to eating healthier. We may stray a bit but I think we will stay on track in the long run!!

Janet: WTG on the bike ride! We rode last night and it was wonderful!

I am doing great here! Can't believe it is October already. Where has the time gone? I'm going to set up the new threads today for the start of the new month! Before you know it we will be battling Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I did 500 steps again yesterday, my yoga and then rode my bike for 45 min. so got in quite a bit of exercise. It felt really good. Today did my yoga already. I think this is the first week in forever that I have done it every day. Very proud of myself!! Well you all have an amazing day!! Make it a good one to finish off the month!

A quick hello everyone!

I'm doing well and managing my minutes exercise every day.

It's sunny now - so I'm going to go for a little bike ride. We won't have many more days like this ...

Best wishes to all! I'll pop back in for a longer visit on Friday.

Happy Anniversary Kelly!!! You and your hubby have a great celebrations, whatever it is...

I am feeling pretty good, I have recommitted a bit to being more aware of my goals. It's very hard to stay on track at this stage of the game, where I don't see losses very often. But I want to get to goal weight by Xmas - that is my goal now.

I also like that Biggest Loser is back on TV - that's a huge motivator for me although now I'm a bit experienced in exercise I see how radically they push those poor folk when they are so overweight. They get results, though. I wonder what percentage gain it all back.

Another busy day at work. My car is ready to be picked up after being in the shop to get that body damage fixed, so I have to go to town anyway. I will sneak in a workout tonight that way.

The weather is typical early Fall - cool in the mornings but blazing hot in the afternoons... 40-50-60 degree differences between day and night. Some people love it, but I am not so sure.

Anyway, have a great evening, y'all, I will check in soon!

Angelika

Hi everyone!

Julie: your basement exercise sounds like fun! I haven't watched DWTS's much. Monday Night Football always wins at my house. Great job on your eating and working out too!!!

Kelly: Happy Happy anniversary! That is wonderful! So glad you are getting to your old self already! And so close to the 130's! You can do it!!

Diana: WTG on 15 minutes....and no bread! That is great!!

My weigh in was today and as I predicted I am up a pound. I'm ok with it though, it was not a good weekend. I'm glad it wasn't worse and I'm doing better now so it will be alright!

Yesterday there was a challenge to do 500 step ups and downs on my BL challenge. I did them in 20 minutes. It was a good workout too. I did my yoga this morning. I can tell I took off some time from it, having a hard time with some of the moves. But still improving all the time. Think tonight will be a bike riding night. The weather here is still perfect so it is so nice to be outside!!

Have you all been thinking about your goals for October?? Anyone interested in completing an October challenge similar to Septembers?? 30 min of movement a day?? I think I am going to post it up and join me if you want! I need to do better in October then September!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Diana, let us know how you like the mini. Especially if there's some feature you wish you had. Yay for 15; better than 0.

Kelly, Happy Anniversary! Great job getting back on the horse (elliptical) after surgery.

For Tues: Drums Alive class at the gym plus ST, ate at low end of calorie range, and drank my water.

Have a good Wednesday!

Good job on the 15 min! It's better than 0 min ;)

I just got home from gym.. 3 miles on elliptical at resistance 4 in 30 minutes! I did much better than I thought I would. I figured I would tire out fast, but I could have kept going!! We'll see how I feel tomorrow, but I'm sure I'll be fine :)

I am *this* close to 130s! I weighed 141.4 this morning. Getting there and I am so excited! I am going to knock the crap out of October!!! haha

Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Anniversary Kelly!!
Raining here, so no out door exercise. I did 15 min of dance and strength training, but then go side tracked. My new little mini note book arrived, and I am getting it set up. I am going to Seattle in Oct to see a sister, and this way I have a mini to carry in my pocket book. Got to be able to keep in touch!!
No bread today..and not missing it. I have rice crackers and the rice cakes. I feel less bloated already.

Glad to see so many doing so well; whether it's losing weight, trying a new activity or consistently improving on an old one, nurturing relationships, or even experimenting with food. It's all good!! Let's keep the momentum going into the 4th quarter!!

Last night I had to use the basement TV to watch Dancing With the Stars. The bedroom cable wasn't working and Monday Night Football won out in the family room. Anyway, I decided to use the elliptical while I was watching, but ended up stopping a few times to dance around the basement. With all that extra room, I was inspired to shake things up a bit. Such fun!! Wish my legs looked more like Jennifer Grey's, but I'm grateful they do what I ask of them.
Ate in middle of calorie range and drank lots of water.

Good morning every one!! It's such a beautiful day here in Texas today! It is supposed to be almost perfect weather for 2 weeks they say. Low 60's in the morning and mid 80's in the afternoon! This is the time I love living in Texas!

Did yoga and walked last night. Was nice and cool out. Going to walk again tonight. I didn't want to go last night in fact almost talked myself out of it...but once I got up and out it felt great! Even jogged a bit with the dog. Not so bad. Today I did my yoga and then I have to do 500 steps sometime today for my BL challenge. I guess I will do it on the lift again like last week. It's hard but should be able to get 500 in. Tomorrow is weigh in day and I know from this morning it's not going to be very good unless some type of miricle happens between now and then...lol!

Still really slow at the shop which is not too good. Hoping it starts to pick up here soon!

Angelika: I think we really have to be mindful of our eating as we get closer to goal. It is so easy to fall back into poor habits cause we are so close. I had to reevaluate after my weekend too. I did not make good choices at all. But what is different now is that yesterday I did make all good choices where as before I would have kept going down the bad choice trail!

Diana: sounds like you are doing great! keep up those work outs!

Janet: you are doing awesome too! WTG on the bike ride!!

OK, everyone...it's almost the end of the month! How did you do with your September goals? I'm going to go and re read mine to see if I did any better then I think I did...LOL! I think I am challenging myself again for the month of October to try to get 30 minutes of work outs in daily! I didn't reach my goal this month but I did better then I did in August so I can only keep improving!!

Hi Everyone! I had my twin grand kids birthday on Sunday, so eating was not so great. But decided with a girl friend to go off gulten together for a week, because I have been so bloated again. It has to be the breads:-) since it is the one thing I have added on. I did find a gluten free bread mix, so might try making my own bread this way. When I made my old regular recipe, I was a gonner with wanting too much. So, day two and feeling fine. I am eating rice crackers and rice cakes instead.
Exercise was yoga yesterday, and cleaning some windows, which lead to cleaning the outside of my stove and refrigerator. Bought a new product, and it worked with some amazing results. But my hands are hurting today, from my efforts.
Angelika, I used to make Elderberry jelly, and loved it! I take Elderberry syrup all winter long to ward off colds. It does work.
Simera, I also made chile the other day, and used ground chicken. Sometimes I keep it white, and add only corn and white beans, but this one was with pinto beans.
Terri, it is nice to be able to spoil our sons a bit. I got to hang out with my son Eric last week, and it was such a nice time. Usually he is working, when I go to see his kids.
Kelly, WTG on your weight loss! I still am not loosing more..but..not gaining either:-)
I think my Y also has the Tai Chai. I will look into how much it costs. Right now we are very limited with funds, but my Jan dh will be getting his SS. It is not only peaceful, but seems to work all parts of your body in a very gentle way.
Can't believe this month is nearly over:-) If I am missing anyone..sorry..hope everyone is doing great..it seems to be so from the posts today!

Hi All:

Well, the weekend was pretty good, work as usual on Saturday, then I did make it to the gym afterward since I didn't go Friday (too busy).

Sunday we went up to the mountains to pick elderberries. If anybody doesn't know what these are they grow on small trees and come in big bunches like currants only they are purple.

The juice is amazingly healthy and makes yummy jam and syrup besides. I ate a few handfuls raw (sour~!!!) but I had a slight cold and they seemed to kill it right off.

The bummer was after that we stopped for dinner (Chinese Buffet), and yours truly ate waaay too much coconut shrimp - it was truly ridiculous. I think my resistance to temptation was down due to the cold and everything.

The scale goddess was amazingly kind to me this morning since I didn't gain ANYthing... with all that sodium, I am in shock.

I do feel like I am getting a bit fast and loose with everything. I am so close to goal weight that my body is craving food like mad - it's super tough to stay on my plan these days, even though I upped my goal calories.

To give me more direction I joined the 12 weeks to Christmas Challenge. I want to get to goal weight, - 4 to 9 pounds less - by Christmas. I need the accountability right now.

Peace you guys and have a great evening!

Angelika

I usually use ground chicken but I had breasts that I was going to fix Thursday night and didn't. So I cut them up into small pieces and made chili.Turned out pretty good.

The sun is out and warm...so not a cool weather gal. Got in a quick walk and now off to get son from school. Need tolook into getting him into drivers ed.

Hi ladies (there might be a man out there too but I haven't seen in here yet :P)

It's a rainy day in western Canada. Our winter weather seems to have arrived early ... we get lots and lots of rain here. (Think: Seattle, Washington)

Kelly - Congrats on the weight loss and your rapidly returning health!
Julie - So, you're saying that I need to keep my body guessing? :) I can do that!
Terri - I'm glad you had the chance to spoil your son. I love doing that too. Too bad about the football games though. Reminds me a little of our hometown hockey team. *sigh*
Amy - wow, great job on the exercise! What does the 'c" in c25k stand for?
Simera - I did steal your chili and chicken idea. It was lovely! I used ground chicken (is that what you did?)
Diana - I might look into a Tai Chi class - there used to be one at the school fairly close to use. It seems so peaceful.

I hope I didn't miss anyone! If I did, I blame ... oh dear, I guess I have to blame myself!

I am feeling so much better. I keep reminding myself that I will just keep feeling better and better and it's exciting to think about! I'm doing my exercises everyday and yesterday, I did my stationary bike interval routine in the morning and then went for a 45 min. bike ride in the afternoon! I was pleased with myself. Of course, my husband had spent the day scuba diving, came home, cleaned his stuff off and then asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. I have a LONG, LONG way to go before I can keep up with him!

Take care, everyone!

Hey everyone! Wow, everyone is doing so amazing!!

Amy: WTG on that week 5! I'm so impressed!!
Julie: you are doing great with your program! Keep it up!
Diana: Awesome job on that jogging!!
Kelly: so happy you are feeling better! That is great!
Janet: Spark is wonderful! I learn new stuff all the time! You are doing great too! Keep it up!

My weekend was great...but not so great where food is involved. I did not eat the way I needed to for sure. But the scale wasn't too mean to me this morning. So I'm just going forward today. I did get in a really good walk on Saturday, so I'm sure that helped a little!

Football this weekend was horrible! We went to the Texas game on Saturday! They haven't played that bad in years! And then Sunday was just depressing! I did make all my son's favorite munchie foods yesterday too. Did not help my cause in eating well, but he loved it!

Woke up today and did yoga! Oh and fall is getting here! It was in the 60's this morning! So wonderful! Can't wait to walk tonight with it being cooler!

Hope you all are having a great day!!

Hi gals !

I'm doing fantastic! Weigh in for me was Friday.
I lost 3.4 lbs ! WOOHOO! Sure helps when the digestive system is working properly! ... TOM is coming though.. dang it! I'm in good spirits and can walk normally now. No more pain. Doing good! Gonna head up to the gym this afternoon and start slow. No zumba or kickboxing, just treadmill or elliptical. We'll see.

Amy, congrats on WK 5 of C25K! Sounds like you're hitting a groove so keep it up.

Simera, chili with chicken sounds yummy! We talked about making chili today, but got busy with chores and never made it out to get the ingredients.

Janet, you're right about not being under on calories. I've been "cycling" calories; some high, some middle, and some low which seems to keep my body satisfied. The goal is not to "starve" your body with lower calories too often or have too many "cheat" days with higher calories. This way the body can't adapt to any one calorie level.

Kelly, hope you're still feeling good.

For Sat: 45 minutes on the elliptical and a long ST session, ate in middle of calorie range, and drank my water.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

A chilly day here. Watched my son run in his Cross Country meet...I got in my steps while waiting for his meet and then running to get pictures of him on the course.
Came home and made chili with chicken. Turned out pretty good.

Hello everyone,

We are having a lovely early Autumn day here. I think I am doing quite well and I was brave enough to take my measurements this morning. I've been putting that off for a whole month! Too scared to know the actual numbers! It's done now though and I managed to survive the grueling experience. lol

I am chugging along with my fitness routine and eating well although I don't seem to be getting the right number of calories in on most days. I know I'm going to have to continue to work on that - after reading articles, I realized that under calories is not a good thing. Thanks SparkPeople! That really was a "light bulb" moment for me.

Congratulations to all the athletic achievements!!! You inspire me to continue!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Congraulations Amy, for finishing your c25k! WTG! It is amazing how easy it gets, after just a few weeks of training.
Indian summer here folks! loving it. Did a two mile run with Cleo this am, but want to do some more Tai Chi later. I like the video I got from the libray, but find it will take some time to learn all these moves, in spite of them being simple ones.
Eating has been better, and working to avoid too much bread lately. No more home made bread for awhile.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. Can't believe it is almost Oct.

Oh my gosh, can't believe I haven't checked in since Sunday! Sounds like everyone is doing great, except maybe fighting some crazy hunger!

I finished week 5 of C25K this morming. WOO HOO!! I DID IT! I added an extra 5 minute run and 5 minute walk interval first. I think my body just needs to know that yes, I am seriously asking it to do this running thing. Once I get that extra little warm up, I'm good. Not that it was easy of course. I started slow - just a little nervous I think - then I was able to get a pretty good pace going, and the last 4 minutes or so I slowed down a bit again. On to week 6 next week!

Have a great weekend everyone!

The end of the week got so busy with work, family birthdays, and events at my son's school that I didn't check in.

Kelly, so glad you're healing well and feeling good.

Terri, glad your son is doing OK. Have fun this weekend!

Sounds like everyone is exercising well enough to stimulate appetite.

Don't have much to report for last couple of days other than some ST and a short walk here and there. My calories were in the low to middle range until Fri which was high due to bday dinner and cake for DH. Did well on water though since it was so hot

Keep up the good work everyone and make it a healthy weekend!

Julie

PS: Angelika, a 13 mile bike ride! WTG especially when you've been so busy.

Crazy day!
Had to go and apply for my WI drivers license and then fix dinner for the cross country boys team...A lot of pasta! Not much leftover.
Now I'm making muffins for their race tomorrow!
Haven't been on Spark much today. So I am trying to catch up while the muffins bake.

OMG...a super busy day. It is 3:00 and just now logging on to Spark. Tired now!!

Just had an Ah ha moment. Tom is visiting. So no wonder I've been so dang hungry. I guess that is what has been going on this week. But it is weird that all of us have been more hungry then normal. I usually and very satisfied and not hungry at all. Just this week has been different. So didn't get yoga in this AM. Power went out at 4:00 am and still isn't on at home. Apparently some lines are down. And I didn't walk cause the mosquitos are so bad they would probably carry me away.

Anyway, it's going to be a challenging weekend. I am going to San Antonio again to see my son and to go to the Texas/UCLA game. Which will be lots of fun, just challenging with food. Might not check in but I will try. You all have a good weekend.

Hello all,

My gosh, I'm so glad I read today's comments. I've been so hungry today! I had a big breakfast, I was in the staff room at lunch on the DOT of 12 noon, and I actually had to come home before my usual 5 or 5:30 because I was just plain hungry. I had my dinner at 4:00! I wonder if I'll be hungry again before bed? I'm going to have to do some figuring out what will be a good, healthy and in my calorie range 4th meal.

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better, Kelly. Keep taking care of yourself!

I hope you all have a lovely evening.

Evening Team ---

I think we all go through the eating phases. I have a cheat day every week and it seems to help. Do you have a cheat day??

DGRAZIA -- We are going to the library tomorrow so I will check it out :)

I am doing really good today. I've had two 'normal' days in a row. I'm really glad my kiddos have 4 day school weeks cause I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow! I've been eating good and doing more around the house and having little to no pain. Getting better everyday. Blog soon :)

Hope you all are having a fantastic week :)

HUGS !

You are not alone Angelika. I feel like I am eating more, or at least things I was avoiding, like ice cream and chocolate. But like you Terri, I feel so hungry lately:-) We used to say it was the change of seasons, and would joke about bulking up for the winter cold:-) Well not going to do that..lol, but really need to tone it down.
Kelly, wanted to tell you I found a DVD at my library for Tai Chi, so you may find your own has one too. I thought I would borrow it, so I could go though an entire lesson, and not wait.
Today I ran with Cleo, and doing so so with food. I went to see a dear friend in her 80s and had tea and cheese with crackers. Going to eat light now, and avoid eating later:-)
Indian summer here..and I am loving it!!!

Hi Angelika: I'm super proud of you for being so busy but still fitting in time for yourself. That is the important thing. You are a true inspiration. Congrats on that bike ride too!

Kelly: you are improving every day. You will be up to your old self in no time at all!

Doing ok here. For some reason the last several days I have been hungry almost constant. I don't know if I'm not eating enough at breakfast and it's carrying over or what. It kind of started on Tuesday when I went to see Cameren and didn't want to eat bad. I came home to Martin fixing dinner which was not too good. He really tried but it really bit the big one too. It was horrible!! But couldn't tell him. I just didn't end up eating much. So since then I have been just hungry. I'm trying fruit and water to see if I can quelch it but nothing so far. Woke up this morning feeling like I was starving. Which i know I am not. But I don't want to keep going like this cause I will give in to something bad just to feed the hunger. Ate subway for lunch and that didn't really help either. Anyway, I'll have to make something healthy but filling tonight for dinner I think. Well since I lost my workout streak this month...I am going to challenge myself again for October. I hope there are some out there that want to do it with me!!

How's everyone's weather been?? Looking forward to next week, I think we are supposed to be out of the 90's! It will be so nice. This weekend will be another challenge for me. We are going to San Antonio and Austin for the weekend. Going to the Texas game in Austin on Saturday and then I'm sure we will do something for the big Texans/Dallas game on Sunday. It will be good to get away for a few days it just always leads to an eating challenge.

Anyway, you all have an amazing day!!

Hi all, just a quick "hi" and I have to run. I have been so busy so my Sparking has had to be drastically curtailed.

Friday I went on a huge (for me) bike ride, over 13 miles then I lifted weights when I got home.

This past weekend was an unmitigated disaster, felt horrible and shoved everything in sight in my face.

I feel back to normal now, and hit the gym today...I AM SO SORE..ow-ow-ow.... but it's all good, right? So it's definitely been up and down.

Hope you all are going GREAT... and I hope to get some time here so I can be more attentive!

Take care, Angelika

DGRAZIA -- Good to hear from you! :)
ahhh i can't wait to get cable tv and some on demand channels and get this good stuff you are talking about! :) You mentioned bread... MMMMMM !

HAHA. No zumba for me for a little while longer... but I can't wait to get back into my gym routine! I did some housework today and then went to Walmart and pushed a full cart around and then had to run to my car with full cart cause it was raining so hard! Still feeling good though! First 'normal' day so far! :)

Gotta find something to cook for dinner...

Hey, do you guys drink Naked Juice ??

Hi Terri, we have Charter Communication, which is a cable company. They all seem to have On Demand. You might ask your company if they provide it, via satellite. When we did use our dish, it was not only cheap, but offered a lot of interesting shows. We kept the cable only for the ability to bundle our phone, internet, and TV.
It really is a nice show, and they are patient in showing each move. I was proud I went to the next classes up, and am able to do all of the moves. This also uses palates with it. Very nice:-)
I am excited even more of the Tai Chi, and have been looking for a class in our area. Will let you know what happens.
Yes..you know..after a day of playing with the kids, my mp2 said I burned 350 calories:-)

Diana great to see you back! Glad you enjoyed your visit and yes I'm sure those babies wore you out! Do you have cable or do you have dish? I hear about the demand stations and can't find any on dish. That yoga sounds awesome! Dear BF erased all of mine so now I am starting all over recording them. So not so much of a choice in what I do. Going to get back at it in the am.

Kelly: so glad you are feeling better. But don't go out to do Zumba too soon!!

I have been MIA also, due to staying at my sons for several days, taking care of the kids. Not sure who got more worn out, myself..or the kids:-)
Terri, I am glad your son is doing better. I went though something similar with my eldest..who is now the daddy..and boy..it sure is tough when they hurt! Glad he seems better, and you are right..nothing better than seeing Mom:-)
Kelly, sorry to hear you had some surgery. Hope you feel better and better each day. You are so right..we use our belly muscles for so much of our body!
Janet, WTG on your weight loss:-) Everyone else..hope you are all doing well.
This morning, I found a free yoga/pliates course On Demand TV. It was great! I can follow every day now, and they also are teaching Tai Chi. I really would like to learn how to do Tai Chi better, but the Yoga was a fun change from my running and walking.
Eating is OK..made some home made bread..and you know how hard it is to avoid it:-) So, eating light today.
Have a lovely..last day of summer!! And..wow..if you can..check out the full moon..the Harvest Moon is so bright!!

Howdy :)

Awwwwee I'm so glad your son is doing better! You're a great mom :)

I did watch BL last night and I love that show too! I teared up within the first 5 minutes of the show. Some of those people just break my heart! I'm looking forward to the season, looks like it's gonna be a great one! I'm gonna pick Team Black this season.

Great job Simera on your walk ! :)

I'm doing fabulous today! I almost feel normal! I went to Dr for a check up today and he ripped my steri strips and skin off, but incisions look good. No more pain pills during the day. I am taking one at night. No more nausea either. My digestive system seems to be working normally now. Thank goodness! No more bloat! :)

I'm taking a break from housework. Things have been neglected... Nothing too extensive. Still taking it easy.

Hope you all have a great day ! :)
Happy Humpday!

Hi everyone! Well it was a quick trip to San Antonio and back. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. My son is doing better. I think most of his depression stems from a girl and some from school. He is seeing a counselor today so glad about that. I enjoyed getting to spend some time with him yesterday though. We had lunch and picked a few things out for his apartment. Then I made him a big pot of spagetti for the week. He seemed much much better when I left. I feel pretty good about him too. So we will see. It's just so hard when your kids hurt like that and nothing you can do will fix it. But I think he appreciated some momma love!!!

I good eating yesterday but of course didn't get in any work outs. It is a 4 1/2 hour drive each way to SA. So I was in the car a lot!!

Did you all watch Biggest Loser last night? I love that show. So glad it is back on. What did you all think??

Janet: congratulations to you on that bike ride and your weight loss. That is awesome!!

Kelly: so glad you are feeling a little better. Don't push yourself though!

Simera: glad you are feeling better too. And WTG on that walk!!

Julie: You do such an amazing job on working out daily! WTG!!!

Well I have tons to read to try to get caught back up. I'll check in later!

Checking in early because today is another of those crazy busy Tuesdays.

Terri, sorry you're going thru this right now, but I agree you're a great mom and you're doing the right thing. Even though your son didn't want to burden you, he realizes he needs your help and support. You have good intuition so trust it. Re: your BF, you did the right thing there too because this weekend was probably exactly what you both needed. Good luck with everything and have a safe trip.

For Mon: 30 min on elliptical plus abs, ate in middle of calorie range and drank my water.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Hey Team!

I just want to say thank you so much for all the support you all have given me. The anesthesia is crazy for sure. I've been experiencing crazy dreams and I think it stems from that stuff.
I'm moving better today. Still sore obviously. It hurts to brush my teeth. You use your stomach muscles to do practically everything...
I got my kiddos to school today which means I had to drive. Not fun, but I managed.
One day at a time :)

Simera -- SO glad you are back and had a great time on your trip, but stinks you are sick :( Feel better soon and you'll find your groove again, that I am sure of :)

Terri -- I am so sorry about your son, but you are a great mother and he is in good hands. Hang in there. Prayers to you all.

Janet -- way to go on the loss and bike ride! :)

Everyone is doing an amazing job! Keep it up!

emoticon and Love :)

Good afternoon everyone. I panicked a bit this morning when I couldn't get into SparkPeople to add my breakfast. Yikes!

Terri, best wishes to your son. My 2nd son suffers from depression too. You are a wonderful Mom to head right over to see him. Safe journey tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you!

Simera - Hi! I'm new to the group. Welcome home! I hope you are feeling better soon.

Kelly - take care of yourself and take it easy. I always think about the power of anesthesia. I've heard that it takes up to a year to get it out of your system. So, it's not just the healing from the surgery.

Julie - oh, I was jealous when I read you went apple picking! I grew up on an orchard. *sigh* It was a wonderful childhood!

I weighed myself today and have lost .4 k. I'm happy! More importantly, I went for a 1 hour bike ride Sunday afternoon with my (very fit) husband. It was such fun and although he didn't manage to work up a sweat riding behind me ... I did! I was quite proud of myself.

emoticon to you all!

So sorry Simera! Hope you feel better soon.

I just got off the phone with my son. He has basically been lying to me for months now that he is doing better. He is struggling with depression and not doing good. Called him today and he was just crying. How can you help them when it is bad like that? I am going tomorrow to see him, it is a 4 hour drive but will be worth it. I think he needs a hug and some mom love!! I haven't been pushing him much lately to talk to me or anything, I thought things were going well for him. He said he was hiding it from me still. So tomorrow I will be on a mom mission. He says he wouldn't hurt himself, it's not like that, but he did have a friend commit suicide last year. I don't think he would do anything like that but I can't risk it either. Going to try to get him into a dr. for some medication!! Anyway, just wanted to let you all know if I was awol tomorrow that is why. I'll keep you posted!!

I feel like crap today! I am having a hard time getting back in the groove of things since we got home from Rome. I haven't walked in 3 days(exercise wise).
I have been fighting headaches and a tummy virus(OH JOY)! I'm sure that it is just the crappy weather that I have come back to and NOT being on airplanes for 14 hours :{

Hello everyone!! I went MIA this weekend! Yes my sparking and facebooking do cause some of the disagreements with BF so I took the weekend off of the computer totally. It's just so hard to catch up with everything when you do that...lol! Very quiet here at the shop today so I should be able to catch back up. I did NOT complete my work outs this weekend. I guess I took a break from everything. No excuses really just raining on Saturday and was a great day for a lazy day watching football and movies in bed and not moving...lol! I enjoyed it completely. Yesterday more football! But did laundry, and cleaned my bedroom and it really needed it. Funny thing, I hate laundry...hate hate it. I guess I hate the folding and putting away. I always got so wore out doing it. My back would end up hurting and my legs too. Noticed yesterday it didn't wear me out at all. I got it all pretty much done with out any problems. And feel much better having it all done too!

Friday night we went to the Astro's game. I didn't do bad, but probably could have done better. Had a lot of salt that day for sure. Saturday tried to eat all fruits and veggies. Pretty much did most of the day. Even did well yesterday although we did go to Baskin Robbins last night. I had yogurt though so felt good about my choices. I got all my water in over the weekend too. Woke up today and did my yoga so feeling pretty good about everything. Hopefully the scale will be kind to me this week!

Amy: congrats on the Pittsburg win. They are lucky to have a great defense. But I think they are doing awesome this year!

My Texans had an exciting game yesterday. Very nerve wracking...but we won...woo hoo!

Kelly: glad you are starting to feel better. You will be up and on your feet before you know it!

Simera: can't wait to read all about your trip! Glad you are back safe and sound!

Janet: it's amazing how little things like those stairs get better already! Keep up the great work!!

You all have an awesome day. Will check in later!

Kelly, keep taking it easy. Your body will let you know when it's ready for more activity. Heal well!

Simera, welcome back from Italy! My in-laws are leaving Friday for Italy to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. My mother-in-law has cousins who live in Bari, but they are also going to Rome.

For Sun: ST circuit with cardio in between, ate at high end of calorie range, and drank my water.

Have a great week everyone!

Hi Team..
Short and sweet -- I'm exhausted. I haven't been getting online much and haven't all posts on here. Thanks for the well wishes and prayers for speedy recovery. I can't wait to feel normal again. I hate laying around, but I can't seem to get up. It's only been 5 days since surgery, guess I'm just a little impatient! lol Gonna continue to take it easy. Hopefully I will be able to check in more often this week. Have a great week everyone ! :)

Busy day with work and errands. Checking in quick to wish everyone well on their weekend.

Janet, good job this week.

For Fri: went apple picking and did some ST, ate at high end of calorie range, but drank my water.

I've had a successful week (I think) - I've been physically active every day. M/W/F 30 minutes and T/Th 20 minutes. At work, I'm trying to climb up and down the really looooooong flight of steps to the lower field at recess. Last year in June, I could barely walk up those steps without feeling like I was going to have a heart attack right then and there. Yesterday, I climbed up them and was just "a little" out of breath but still chatting to one or two of the children!

Julie - yes, it seems wild that all my boys will be finished school for good! Grad photos are coming up soon. The school has met with the Grads-to-be and told them that Grad Pranks will be considered Grad Crimes this year. My son was totally freaked and I laughed when I said to him, "You're not really the kind of kid that would be doing Grad Pranks anyway, are you?" He looked at me and said, "Well, no, I guess I'm not." (He's one of those serious, follow the rules to the letter types ... unlike son #2 who is a WILD rebellious type)

Kelly - all my best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Terri - it must be really hard to be around a person all the time! You (and he) deserves medals! lol I'm awfully glad my husband work day + commute is about 11 hours of the day. I love him dearly but ... hey, that might be the secret to our 25 years!

Saffity - hello! :) I'm new.

Amy - Running in the rain - cool!

Got to run - driving son to work. I'll try to be back later this evening!

Kelly, sorry you had to have emergency surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Amy, congrats for running at night AND in the rain! Great determination!!!

Saffity, thanks for checking in. If you can swing it financially, a gym gives you so many options. If you like classes and attend several per week, a gym membership can be cost effective in addition to the variety of workout equipment. Good luck!

Terri, thanks for all your support for our team. Hopefully your relationship with BF doesn't suffer because of all your SP and BLC time. Keep up the good work toward your goals. If the face lift treatments seem safe and effective, it sounds like you would appreciate them as your reward.

For Thurs: 30 minutes on the elliptical plus ST, ate in middle of calorie range and drank my water.

Weekend starts now!

Kelly: OMG...I hope you feel better soon. My advice for gallbladder surgery. Make sure to do the deep breathing exercises!! I did not and ended up with pnemonia after my surgery which was way worse the the surgery itself. You should be feeling much better though soon. Take care of yourself! Check in when you can and I'll be saying a prayer for you!

Amy: You are AWESOME! I am so impressed that you did your C25K in the rain and didn't talk yourself out of doing it. That is amazing! Give yourself a huge pat on the back for that!

Saffity: so glad you stopped in. Congrats on the new job. I know you are more interested in toning and all then losing a ton of weight. So I'm sure a gym would really really help that. How is married life by the way?? Remember you don't have to do it all at one time...small steps. One thing at a time will add up!! We're here if you need us!!

Well yesterday was ok. I don't think I ate all my calories or my water yesterday. Me and BF got into another fight yesterday. It just makes it so hard when you work with the person you live with too. We know we will have periods of time when we are constantly getting on each other's nerves but it just makes it hard. I let it get to me too. But today is better. We have been talking more today and dealing with those issues so feeling better. Woke up this morning and went for a walk rather then yoga. It was a little cooler out and wanted to take advantage of that. We might go to a baseball game tonight since it is the last home stand. We usually go over the weekend but hard to miss football for baseball right now...LOL!

So the closer I get to my goal weight I keep trying to figure out how to reward myself for all the hard work I have done this year. I am really thinking about doing a non surgical facelift. I've seen pictures and the results are amazing, just not sure how long it really lasts. It costs $60 a treatment and you need 10 of them. BF says go for it, I deserve it. But still not sure. What are you all going to do for yourselves when you get to goal weight???

Anyway, will check in again later! Very slow here at work due to rain from the Hurricane hitting Mexico. You all have an awesome day!!

Hey Everyone, long time no type. Not sure what to put here, other than that I've not been doing so good. I've gone up in weight and I think I'm around 165 lbs (I don't own a scale so I don't know for sure). I have a new job that has benefits so I'm hoping to get a gym membership soon (I'm better if I have a schedule to go to somewhere for a class or something, I'm very NOT good at motivating myself)

I'm trying to be good and watch my food. It's difficult right now as I have a lot of stress happening both at home and at work. I'm hoping I can get my act together soon and get myself fitting into my clothes properly again.

Thanks to everyone who kept checking up on me!

Kelly: hope you are alright! Haven't seen you in a few days!!

julie: WTG on getting in the epilitical even with your super busy day!

Diana: have a wonderful time with the babies!

Amy: So excited for you going to Curves and doing the BL there too! I know you will kick their butt...you have us to support you!!

Janet: WTG on not buying crappy foods in Costco!! That probably took alot of will power!

Well same same here. Did my yoga today. Last night we went for a bike ride. Well during the day yesterday we had someone come by and do our yard, and they didn't put the gate all the way back. Well 2 of our dogs managed to get out while we were gone. So when we got home after about 5 miles or so, I ended up doing another 3 miles looking for them. So I guess it all worked out. The dogs were put in doggy jail for a little while...the dog catcher got them I guess right outside our door. LOL, they ended up helping their mommy get some more miles in!! Ate good and drank my water yesterday.

I hope you all are having a great day!!

Kelly, fingers still crossed for you; dr visit and house....

Terri, 120's is within your reach; WOW! Glad you're feeling great this month and made those calls.

Amy, we're here for you so vent away when you need to. You're doing great. Remember, 1 step back and 2 steps forward.

Janet, my youngest is a senior also. Busy year, huh? We just have to keep our health on our to-do lists.

Diana, glad you liked Zumba. Definitely keep reminding yourself how strong and healthy you are. Running 5K is awesome and makes you the envy of many women. Celebrate it!!

Angelika, thanks for coming by to cheer us on. Good luck to you with your business.

For Tues: I squeezed in 30 min on the elliptical before my long day of many uncounted steps, ate in middle of calorie range, but was low on water.

For Wed: ST and a 30 min walk, ate at low end of calorie range and drank my water.

Can't believe week is winding down already. Have a good day all!

Julie

I am off soon to help care for my three grand kids, a twin girl and boy, nearly 4; and my one year old grand daughter. I am bringing my lap top, but they since I am helping their Mom, while she does her first big consignment shop..and Dad sleeps..from night shift..might not make it back for awhile. Should be fun, but exhausting for us all. Trust me, I work them as hard as they do me:-)
Janet, I am retired, but not by choice. I was let go from a large YMCA camp, where I was a chef and supervisor at the end of July. I was provoked by a 17 year old punk, who made a horrid remark, when I nearly fell on jelly someone left on the floor. In the midst of trying NOT to hit the steel table or cement floor..he said.." Oh she has fallen, and can't get up". Very rude, and disrespectful to anyone, but I would have ignored it, had I not been still in a state of fear. Like greased lighting, he was grabbed by me..with my left..and I slapped him with my right. Oh well..so I went out in a blaze of glory:-) They let a seasoned professional go, and he remained for a few more weeks, until the other young men drove him out. He had it coming, but seriously, I am not into hitting people, normally:-) Wake up for me..life is far more peaceful and healthier at home..doing my own thing now:-)
Plus of all this, no more being tempted by all the food, and no more stress:-) Life is good:-)
I am up a lb from not doing my usual workout, but I really needed a day off. We went to Home Depot to buy a small freezer for all the veggies I have been freezing. It is so cute..and only will cost about 35 a year of energy.
Everyone have a great day!! Diana

Thanks for all of the encouragement! I'm sorry for such a whiny post yesterday. It was just really discouraging to have a planned workout and not be able to do it. But today is a good day! I started the Biggest Loser Challenge here on Spark, and also one at my local Curves. I've been wanting to incorporate strength training into my fitness activity, so I think working out a Curves a few times a week will help me do that.

Glad to hear that everyone is doing so well! Terri, I can't wait to congratulate you for reaching your goal!

Hi everyone! I'm feeling a little perkier today. I'm just home from work and having a little rest with my feet up and my trusty laptop warming my lap. I went to the Costco after work and had a moment of panic when I was about to walk in ... don't buy anything "bad" ... don't buy anything "bad" ... don't buy anything "bad".

I behaved very well, if I do say so myself!

Diana - are you retired? It sounds like you are a very busy preparing for winter! Thanks for adding me as a friend.

Terri - into the 120s?!?!?! Wow, that is phenomenal! Congratulations for even hovering at the 129-130 mark - so cool!

Amy - it is so hard when you are busy with a young family! I think it is wonderful that you are already on the ball! My youngest is in Grade 12 and I'm just "waking up" and realizing that I'm not me anymore. Does that make sense?

Ladies - I am definitely going to have to try Zumba. I'll keep working out at home/and with walks until I think my knees are strong enough and then ... I've already found a Zumba class in a dance studio fairly close to me!!!

Must go and make dinner now. Teenagers are looking at me with big puppy dog eyes ... "FEED ME" "FEED ME" Can you hear the mental messages all the way from Canada? emoticon

Hello Everyone. Wow..getting really chilly here in Ct! I am actually feeling I might have dh build a small fire tonight.
Terri..lol. well the funny thing is, I find I have tons of things to do, that I have put off for years! I am not on anyone's clock..which is fantastic..but all the canning, freezing, the trips to different gardens to gather goodies all takes a lot of time. I am loving it, however. Yes..lol..Mafia War still has a hold on me, but I made myself start reading a good book about a year ago. Now, I do try and spend some time each day reading. Of course, Face Book, and all my friends keep me occupied too. Thanks for all the encouragement. I think I got discouraged, because I just am not loosing..but yes..doing great with exercise. I am in the Thyroid group also, and am learning, I may never..ever loose what I hope to..so..I really have to work hard on a mind set to just see how much stronger and healther I am. Going to really work on spending more time here:-) Promise:-)
To Julie and Kelly..my sisters all go to Zumba classes:-) I found a video and finally tried it at home. It was great fun!! And wow..you really get your heart beat going. Great exercise!
Amy..I read you are also doing the C25k. I started that via Face Book, and after many years of just walking, started running again. I am able to do a 5 k..but still have to walk fast on the big hills.
Keep up the good work..it is so good for you.
Janet, you are doing great too..and you are right..after awhile, you will just find yourself challenging yourself more and more!
Terri..WTG! Almost there..to the 120s..whoo whoo!
I smiled at what your son said, about finding a hobby. Gee..these kids just don't understand..lol. It is, however, great to be able to make ourselves our hobby..once we are not so strapped raising our kids. So, I agree. Those of you with little ones still, or even teens are leading very stressful lives. I guess we all have to be kind to ourselves.
Ok..got to go journal. Yeah..been lazy..bored with it, but know I have to do it to keep on track!!

Stand up for yourself and for others who are not as strong as you..always take a stand in what you believe to be the truth.

Amy...Don't be so hard on yourself. You have a lot going on!! I don't know how you all do it with young kids around. It is so hard to focus on you when the kids need you. I'm lucky, my son told me when he left for college a few years ago to get a hobby. I mean for 18 years he was my hobby. Every weekend and most nights we were running around for him. He told me this when he was sick of me calling him all the time...LOL!! Well now I do have a hobby...ME!! My point being, you will probably have days where you can't focus on you at all. But when you do go out if you don't make a perfect choice just maybe try a better choice then before and you will still feel good about it. Besides today is the first day of BLC and it's next week's weigh in that really matters! Just get back up today and do better! You can do it!!

Janet: WTG on the bike. You will get stronger and be able to go farther in no time. The first day I started this I went for a walk. It took me 20 min. to go not even a mile. My legs hurt, my shins killed me. Now I can do a mile in 15 and am up to over 3.5 a day most days. You can do it!!

Well I am almost there...the 120's!! Today I got on the scale and it flirted with 129 but stayed at 130 on the button. Pretty excited although now that BLC started next week might have been better. I'm not losing that fast...in fact it took me almost 3 weeks to lose that 1.5 pounds. But still pretty excited about it. Lost some inches too since I have measured but will blog about it later.

Woke up this morning and did my yoga! So glad I am doing it again!! I am in a much better mood then I when I wasn't doing it. Did 3.7 miles of a walk yesterday too. Eating right! Actually last night we had buffalo burgers and they were yummy! Very little fat in that meat and you can't really tell the difference from beef. Drinking all my water too!

Well I hope you all are having a great losing day!! Keep up the wonderful work...we can do this you all!!!

Hi everyone,

Too tired to write much tonight. Work is going well but all the new routines, etc. make for a busy time.

I did 20 minutes on my stationary bike - I'm really working hard on it. I'm sure in a few months, I'll laugh when I think that that was "hard" but it is for me now.

Best wishes to everyone, Janet

Off to bed ... sweet dreams!

ugh, ladies, I blew it tonight. It was just one of those nights, you know. Picked my daughter up after work, straight to swimming lessons, straight to my son's middle school open house, everyone was starving, so out to dinner (hungry and exhausted and did NOT make a good food choice), got home at 8:50 and still had to get my daughter ready for bed and read. Got done at 9:30 and just could not bring myself to get changed and go for my run. So I missed day 2 of this week for my c25K . . . just when I was doing so well. I'm discouraged, but too tired to do anything about it. I'll go on Thursday and Saturday, and hopefully it will still go ok. ugh, and I just realized that this means I missed a day on the September 30 minute challenge too! Now I'm really mad at myself. I will get back on track tomorrow!!

Julie - glad you were able to make it through Zumba! Hope your back continues to feel better.

Julie, thank you for the info. I will go and check it out. I think I saw that blog yesterday but was busy and didn't get around to reading it. I can say this morning I did not want to wake up. Even snoozed the alarm once, but so glad I got my butt up and out of bed. Feeling great this morning! Doing my yoga and drinking my green monster have put all right with the world...LOL!!! So glad to hear your back is feeling better! Sounds like you will have a busy busy day today! Hope it is a great one!!

Diana: great to see you here! I'm telling you now that you are a woman of leisure I hardly see you any more! Or are you too busy playing MW's to check in with us these days...LOL! You are still doing amazing! how are the walks/runs going??

Amy: I'm super excited for you and your c25k program! I am envious as well...just can't get myself to start it. When I do jog alittle it seems my knees don't do so well the next day so not sure if I will ever be a runner. But I'm trying to walk fast. You are doing awesome...keep it up!!!

Well last night I only rode the bike for 40 minutes or so. I had put on some purple husk peas to cook. (A new food for me) they are kind of like black eyed peas I guess with a purple hue to them. So while they were cooking we rode our bikes. I so wish the weather would start cooling down here some so it wasn't quite so hot and miserable after work to do stuff. But anyway, ate well last night. I'm so glad I went to the fruit market this weekend. I didn't have a salad all last week....love them!! Drank my water and everything else seems to be good. Tomorrow is my weigh in for BLC! I think I am about the same. Feeling a little skinnier these days though, maybe I've lost some inches. I need to do some measurments!

Anyway, you all have an amazing losing day! Get up and get moving!!

Checking in early because I read the Daily Spark entry about National Yoga month and wanted to make sure Terri saw it. Check it out.

Terri, you're doing great this month and it coincides with National Yoga Month; good coincidence. Also Youtube has videos of Zumba classes so you can see what it looks like. Some are extreme, but not all classes are like that.

Janet, keep up the good work with the Wii Fit; it sounds like you really move with it!

Diana, great job getting yourself set up for winter. For someone like me who's not great in the kitchen, that's impressive. As far as tracking, maybe just start again with one or two meals so it doesn't seem like so big a job.

Kelly, only one more day until you see the dr. Hope it goes well.

Amy, Zumba felt great; thanks for asking. I ended up staying for the whole hour and my back feels good today. You and Kelly are the real Zumba regulars, but I'm sort of hit or miss based on my schedule.

Heading off to work and then my volunteer job and back to work. This would probably be at least a 15000 step day if I hadn't lost my pedometer.

Have a great day everyone!

Julie

Thanks to everyone for cheering on my running! I really want to be a runner and have had many failed attempts, so I'm getting more excited as I move through the program. I appreciate all the support.

Julie - how did Zumba go? I hurt my back early on too, and was so glad when I could get back to it. Hope you are feeling better.

Terri - glad that you are feeling better with doing your yoga. I've been appreciating the 30 min./day challenge, and I'm glad it's helping you out too.

Janet - Glad I could help!

Kelly - I can't wait for you to go to the dr. too! I hope they figure out what's up so you don't have to be miserable anymore. At least you're feeling good enough to go to Zumba today!

I also went to Zumba tonight! It's been a great workout and I'm still loving it. Trying to get my eating back on track after getting way off track this weekend. Have a good night.

Hi Everyone. Sorry I have been MIA. I have been so darn busy around here. I keep wondering how I ever got anything done, when I did work. Been canning, freezing, and cooking low cal, low cost meals.
I am sighing here..guess I really need to go back to journaling my meals. I got so sick of it, but know I need to do a refresher course. Been playing with the same three lbs for weeks now. I gained muscle, but still would like to loose some more weight.
Been reading all the posts to catch up, and sounds like you all are working hard at this game.

Stand up for yourself and for others who are not as strong as you..always take a stand in what you believe to be the truth.

Kelly, if it is your gallbladder, watch what you are eating. Leafy veggies always made mine worse. Also fatty foods, but you aren't eating those. I feel for you. I had mine out years ago but right before that it was horrible! I hope you are feeling better today!!

Janet: Have fun with the Wii today! I like playing mine too although sometimes I don't feel I get a really good work out on it. That bird's eye bulls eye though is super hard! My favorite is the hula hoop although it took me forever to figure out how to get those other hoops...lol! You are doing awesome keep it up!!!

Whew! I'm all caught up on posts!

I am using a cheat sheet this morning ! :)

Janet -- Way to go on Wii birds eye! I can't do that one!!! and the boxing makes me sweat too and makes my very sore, but in a good way! Keep on rocking it and WTG on that stationary bike also ! :)

Amy -- WOOT WOOT Week 4 on C25K !!! That's awesome!

Julie -- you are doing great on everything! how's your back today?? How was Zumba class?? Stinks your hubs has a hurt back now too! My hubs and I are always comparing back pain! ha .. Hope you both are healed up soon ;)

Terri -- Keep up the awesome job! We are our toughest critic and it sounds like you had a rough day a couple days back. Hope all is going well now and WOOHOO on that bike ride with the BF. Oh, and glad his knee is feeling better. My mouth is watering for some good Italian food now ;)

I had a pretty lazy weekend. Saturday we just hung out all day. Saturday night was ROUGH. Had another 'attack' and was up pacing the floor with horrible pains again. I am pretty sure it's gallstones after doing some research. Dr on Wednesday and I can hardly wait. I want some news on what is going on with myself and I want some relief. Since I got no sleep Saturday night, I laid around all day Sunday. blah.

Today is a new day and I feel good so far! Fixing to head out to the grocery store (yuck) and then take my son to Pre K and then home to relax til kids get out of school.

Zumba tonight ! :)

Hope you all have a great day! Happy Monday! :)

Good morning!

Amy - yahoo! Two screens - you are brilliant!

Terri - I hope you have a great day too!

Julie - I really must Google "Zumba". I've heard about it from another friend on facebook but I don't know what it's all about.

Sons in University - that's wonderful! My oldest graduated last year and has settled into the working world. He's talking about going back for his Masters though ... I think he misses the fun. My 2nd son is 19 and wants to go to the Technical College but he's on a waiting list for the program he wants. That is sooooo frustrating for all of us. Everyone keeps talking about a shortage of skilled labour and then ... no chance for these young people to get into the courses without a year or two on a waiting list? *sigh* My youngest son is in Grade 12 this year. *yikes!* The school years are almost over!

I had a positive weight in - feeling a bit weird about it. Up and down but I'm going to do my Wii exercises today because it is a rainy West Coast day with a smile on my face.

Have a great day, everyone!

Julie: Good luck in Zumba today. Be careful though! Glad your son is doing good. Mine doesn't feel me in too much these days. All he says is classes are good and he's working. He seems to be doing better then he did last semester though so that is really good!

Amy: Awesome job on that C25K program! You are doing awesome with it!!

I did get up this morning and do my yoga. I'm feeling great today. Thank You Julie for reminding me too, I usually do have better days when I start them out with yoga! It is a little hot in the house, but just makes me sweat more!! I'm planning on doing a walk or riding my bike tonight. Ate with in my calories yesterday and I think I got all my water in. Harder on weekends but I managed!

Alittle slow here at the shop. Trying not to give myself a panic attack worrying about it though. It always manages to work out. Had fun yesterday watching football! My Texans kicked some Colts butt!! Woo Hoo!! Anyway, you all have a great day!! I'll check in later!

Amy, that's really great that you felt like you could keep going when the WK4 workout ended. I'm pretty sure that's a sign of improved conditioning.

Terri, great job with your walk as well. September is your month so hope you did the yoga today. You always sound even happier in your posts when you're consistent with yoga. Thanks for asking about my son. He's doing well with his classes so far, likes his roommate and his room, and has joined a new club. He's a communications major and was active last year with the Penn State TV station, but now has added sports radio as well. Great practical experience for our tuition money. Hope your son is doing well also.

Heading to the gym in a little while for the first time since I hurt my back. I felt good all weekend so I think it will be OK if I try half of Zumba class. I'm still taking it easy, but my husband hurt his back yesterday. What a pair we are!

Have a good Monday everyone!

Julie

Terri - glad to hear that your day went better today! Sounds like a good and fun workout.

Janet - I usually open up two windows so I can go back and forth from what I'm typing to the original thread so I can remember everything. It helps! :)

I only have a few minutes, so I'll try to write tomorrow about what the speaker talked about at the seminar I went to yesterday. Today I ate too much - first Steelers game of the season celebration - but I'm going back to really watching this week. Tonight I did the first day of week 4 of C25K. The running intervals are getting longer and the walking ones are getting shorter. Thanks to my rocking podcast, it didn't seem too bad. At the end, it says, "And you're done!" and I felt like I could keep going! Good sign, huh?

Hi everyone!! Hope you have had an awesome Sunday. I started mine off with a 3.5 mile walk. Dear BF rode his bike behind me and instructed me the whole way. He had my arms flying the whole way. I think I actually liked it, not so lonely. I get bored walking by myself. I didn't think I wanted us to work together too much since we are together like all the time....but it was actually nice having him there pushing me this am. His knee is better too. He's been taking it easier on it and seems to be improving!

Eating pretty good today too. We went to a new veggy market. Not quite the selection of my houston find, but still did pretty good. We were down to having nothing. So for dinner tonight I made huge salads with everything, plus some roasted corn, avacodo and chicken. They were yummy!!! I'm stuff now, but will probably have some fruit later. Trying to get all my water in today, almost there. I think I am going to force myself to get up and do yoga in the morning. I think it will be a good way to start my week and to get some more fitness minutes in.

Janet: I know what you mean about trying to keep things straight. This group is easy cause it is never too many people...although it would be awesome if all group member posted here daily like the name...but it's nice to just have them pop in too. There are some times when I need a cheat sheet but I have used them for other groups for sure. Good luck on your weigh in. Keep up the wonderful work!!

Julie: You always do wonderful. How is your college son doing? I think mine is ok, although I never get to talk to him it seems. I'm going to have to plan another trip to see him soon.

Well you all have a great evening! I'm going to watch some football and vegg for awhile!!
