way to go...not allowing yourself to get discouraged............great attitude too
that is what life is about............
coming and going with the different aspects of your life some weeks/months works well for healthy lifestyles and others it just falls apart but to have the maturity to see that one can easily pick up where you left off and get going is an awesome trait..........

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

It's been a crazy summer where the routine went out the window. What came in the window, however, were some pounds that I'll have to re-lose.

Oh well. Some people would get discouraged by that, but not me. It's an opportunity for relearn and reinforce good habits and show myself once again how great it feels to be doing things that are healthy.

The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.

A quick note about failure...you only fail if you stop trying. That goes for EVERYTHING in life. If you don't find success after 349 tries, maybe the 350th try will do it. In other words, if you fall, you get up again, no matter how many times it takes. You can do this...believe you can and you will............

Verbal support is wonderful!! But if one is not trying to change their lifestyle they just dont "get it". We at sparkpeople "get it". I DO wish I had someone close by to share things with. But I do love that I have many online friends to share with!!

I count it as a success that I am still here. I stopped trying for about 3 months but always at least checked in on the website. But now I am refocused and trying. My biggest struggle is that I feel alone in my efforts. My hubby is like the rest, still eating and snacking, though verbally he does his best to be supportive. I'm just trying. That's what counts.

Help, I'm drowning in all the goodies that people keep bringing as "gifts" to the office. Since it's just me at the office, it's hard to resist sneaking one here or there. One leads to two, two lead to four, and so on. I have superhuman willpower when it comes to most things but cookies are my kryptonite. emoticon

It must be all hubbys that are a little on the rotten side!! My hubby is now eating alot of the same things I am. Which is wonderful(success). But he will ask me to pick up some ice cream for him(struggle). I now refuse! I do still struggle with a sweet tooth now and again. My answer is the darkest chocolate in a very small square. works like a charm!! Does anyone have issues with having to change up your workout routines every few weeks??

I think that working with my husband on meal plans has helped me out to make sure that we are eating better. The problem is he hasn't committed 100% to losing weight like I have, so he indulges and I fight to not go crazy (I don't deprive myself but I keep the calories in check)
The biggest emotional obstacle I've tried to get over is worrying about him and what he eats. I have to accept that I need to worry about myself, and he will come around eventually!

SO far my success has been losing almost 25 lbs, racing walking a 5k for the first time, being able to come off my anti-depressant, and feeling like with Sparkpeople I can really make all my goals happen. My struggle is entering all my food in the nutrition tracker...even though it has helped me lose already! And some days I still struggle with getting my workout in despite knowing how good it makes me feel!

The biggest struggle for me is being around others that are not motivated to eat healthy. I think hubby feels he's being "deprived" of the foods he likes and as a result, he's constantly trying to "tempt" me to go out to a restaurant for lunch or dinner, or he brings home fast food, candy or ice cream.

Successes are change in my attitudes about food and my need for a healthy and God pleasing lifestyle.
Struggles. Wanting and believing chocolate is going to help relieve stress at work for myself and coworkers. I'm a nurse and exercise is difficult especially after a long day at work. And I am not a morning person.
