Hey all sorry i have been MIA, just been doing a lot of stuff. Working and working throw stuff. but i am doing really good. I have lost a total of 23.2 lbs as of this week. Woo hoo. I am happy about this. Anyway, i am off to do some needed house work I will talk to everyone soon. Hugs.

hey ya'll I have been doing nothing today. I dusted yesterday and today I am paying for it with swollen eyes and a nose that won;t stop running. LOL. that happens every time I dust. My hubby works in saw dust so you have just picture how dusty the house gets in three days. I have to do this every three days. I think I should wear a mask the next time, or a helmet. Maybe that would help. I don;t mind though. I got a good workout lugging the vacuum all over the house yesterday. I have to work the next four days and this is our tax free weekend so i may not be able to touch base for awhile. I will try thought. I hope you all have a great weekend and make some good things happy. Hugs to you all.

Hello everyone, i am up and ready to start my day, I have to run to work first thing this morning but I got in some wall push ups and I going to do my walk it out game when i get back. I will not be there to long. I just have to open and wait for the boss to come in then I get to come home and workout. Woohoo. yesterday I did good, I made home made veggies soup. I know it is hot outside but I wanted some soup. I will be having that for lunch today and maybe dinner not sure. I love my soups. Anyway, I have made a plan to start doing wall push ups so I can tone my arms today is the first day and I did them. I am started with 25 then each week I will add 5 until I am at 100. So hopefully I will have some toned arms by the end of the year. That would be cool.I hope you all have a good day. I am off to work. Hugs everyone.

just wanted to stop by and say hello. I have been working my fanny off at work and at home. i have been off the last three day and I have redone my bedroom and my bathroom. I am so happy plus I have been walking walking and doing more walking. I am happy about this too. I am feeling good. I have been talking to my best friend about my goals and how I can reach them. I am feeling good about it all. I have a list of things I am working towards I look at this list everyday and I talk it over with my hubby and friend a lot. I am wanting to stay on track. I am happy with things and how I am doing. I am going to go and do my workout now I will check back in with everyone later. Hugs to you all.

well, I weighted today and I am down to 284.6 pounds which means I lost 1 pound this week. But I have lost a total of 9.2 pounds in all since being on sparks. I am so happy with this. Hugs to everyone.

Well, I did not know I hadn't posted on here in a few days. LOL. Anyway, I am doing good. Woke up this morning and was not doing to good. But I pushed though and i did my walking game and I walked 2.7 miles. i am feeling really good about it. I also did some wall push ups. I am feeling great about this. I did my first arm work out today, and boy did it feel good to move them around. I also did my game this morning and I walked 1.3 miles. I have to work tonight so I hope to get in a lot of steps there too. I know I will. I am happy about things today. I also did my measurements for the first time. I am so so about them numbers but not letting them get me down they are just numbers and I am not a number I am Me, so I guess that is about it for me. I am off to get ready for work. thanks, i started parking as far away from the store as I can so i get even more steps in. Today i walked 13,031 steps just at work today, on the game i am playing i got in 2785 steps so my total count for today is 15,816 steps. I am so happy with this. I wish it was higher but my wii board broke this morning on me. LOL. But that is okay i am off the next three days so i will get to play and walk even more. At work I walk just as much as i can i try to keep my heart rate up too. i am not counting those steps as a work out on sparks I am just try to get in as many steps as I can because I know that is the way to get healthy. I have started drinking so much water from all the walking i think I am turning into a fish,LOL. hugs to all. Oh, if you want a good pedometer that is cheap. i got one from the dollar tree for a $1.00 it keeps good count of my steps. just thought I would let you all know if you where wondering what kind I am using. Hugs again to you all.

thank you. I am give this my all this time around. I can not believe how much more fun I am having this time around by just focusing on one kind of workout. Which is my walking. I am doing things to help me build more muscles in my arms to but it is nothing big. I am just doing the dumbbell over the head thing. LOL. I am not sure what it is call. But it is helping me a lot too. Plus with all the moving I am making myself do at work my job performances is up. I had my best friend who i work with tell me to slow down I was wearing her out and she is just 18 yrs old. LOL. that made me feel so good. It use to be the other way around. i was telling her to give me a few minutes to sit down and catch my breath or to let me sit down so I could stop hurting. My feet and back use to kill me like 3 to 4 hours into the job but in the last two to three weeks I have seen that I am about to do a lot more and I am not hurting as much either. I am just loving all the changes I am seeing in myself and in my body. I know a lot of it is I am looking at life differently. I am looking at everyday and everything and a way to get healthier. I use everything to my advantage to get in some kind of steps of workout. I use the ladder everyday I am at work and I think of it a my step machine. I just do not want to miss away to workout. LOL. Anyway, everyone have a great day I am off to play my walking game then it is off to work for a while. I will post my steps tonight when I get home. Hugs to all and have a great day today.

okay i am back again with my total step count for today. i can believe it but it's true okay I walked 6213 at work which that was (4 1/2 hours) and I just did my wii walk it out game and I just walked 10222 steps in 48 mins. so my total for today is 16,435 steps. which i think 10,000 steps is 5 miles. Not sure will have to look it up, but on my game it said I did 2.7 miles and I am happy with that too. I just had to share hugs to all.

I went to Wal-Mart today and at the entrance they had a magazine titled "All You Health & Fitness". On the front page one of the highlighted articles is "Sparkpeople.com stories; Great info from the popular weight-loss site". They also have an article "Walk Yourself Skinny: Drop 5, 10, 15 pounds in four weeks". I picked up the magazine and am looking forward to reading the articles.

Just finished the "Mind Over Body" series of articles by Dean Anderson. Just what I needed to get my priorities in order. I am going to write a vision statement and start keeping a Before, During and After journal to help pinpoint what works for me. I've been so distracted and off track lately because I didn't want to put the effort into myself, but I want to change that.

I seem to be doing a little better. At the Christmas party we went to today I ate a lot less than usual. My choices were better too. Had a piece of lasagna, salad, bread, some ham, grapes,a couple crackers with cheese and 3 cookies. Sounds like a lot but the portions were kept in check. I didn't eat until I was stuffed, which is my usual holiday procedure. One more party on Christmas Eve at my mom's house. That will be the tough one. She really goes all out on the food. Must be where I learned it!

My daughter's art show and graduation went really well. I am so proud of her! I've been so busy lately that I haven't been paying a lot of attention to my health goals and have let a lot of things go. Mainly my exercise plan. And I am the worse for wear. I need to do better.

Tomorrow we're going to an art show at Grand Valley State for my daughter. She is graduating from college on Saturday. I'm really excited to see her show and I'm so proud of her. Next month she is going to a school in Chicago to learn pastries and desserts. Her degree is in fine arts and I think she wants to combine her creativity with the realm of food. She's the kind of girl who always has a plan, so I'm sure she will do fine.

ARGGGHHHH....My boss just came in to my office with a bag of Tim Hortons cookies and said, "Here, take one!". I get that most of you are not from Canada, but if I could describe a Tim Hortons cookie, it would be sheer, mouthwatering bliss. Yikes. Luckily, since they're so moist and yummy, a couple broke so I was able to take half a cookie instead of a full one...AND he left with the bag (thank goodness!). So the plan? I'm going to grab a coffee, savour every little morsel of this afternoon treat, and log it into my nutrition tracker. Thank goodness I made logging my December 1st goal!! That's all I can say!

Just checking in to see what's going on with the team. Any exciting plans for the weekend? Personally I will be on a mission to get my house back in shape since I'm no longer working. I was working so many hours I had to let it all go. And boy did it! Will be nice to sit down and not see stuff I need to clean or fix. I can't relax in messy surroundings.

Enjoy every bite. I'm going to enjoy my weekend too, although I gained 2lbs this week emoticon trying to balance my meals with the things I love to eat, I guess I had too much of my heart's desire this week and the scale proved that emoticon so I have some adjusting to do and I'll be on my way for the up-coming week.

Sounds like a lot of us have been in a bit of a crunch these last couple of weeks. How's everyone handling it? I fell off the wagon a bit over the past week (after doing so well on the long weekend!). I'm a little disappointed in myself, but I'm trying to get right back on. I'm hanging on by the trailer-hitch right now and hoping to swing that leg up there by the end of the week. I'm NOT looking forward to my weigh-in tomorrow!

Hey, I just read your post, and guess what... the very fact that you acknowledged you needed a kick in the butt is enough to get you going. G.I. Joe says "knowing is half the battle." so get out there and DO something. Make a decision right now to do something different. If it is walking back and forth around the living room doing windmills during commercials, then that's a step in the right direction.

I appreciate the insight on the weekly weigh in and 10 minute daily workout, I will look into those, I had friend also said to put a picture of me on the refridgeator to remind me of my goal and motivational saying around the house, like do 5 push ups before sitting on the couch, on the kitchen cupboards - portion control. Things like that, I need to stay focused, Thanks.

I love the Biggest Loser too, and find it very motivating. I missed it last night, but it's taped so I'll get a chance to watch it some time this week. I find that the day after I've watched it, I'm more likely to wake a bit earlier to exercise. So even that helps.
I needed to start a weekly weigh-in to stay accountable. Otherwise I find it too easy to "fall off the wagon".

I get motivated watching the Biggest Loser. I feel we are all in this together and want to lose weight. If you can't be on the show, then there are ways to achieve the same goal. If you need to be held accountable to weigh in each week, there is a weekly weigh in post you can join and post your weight on Thursdays. If you want to be held accountable for exercise, join the 10-min a day exercise challenge. There are also Biggest Loser workout videos and games that you can try as well. Keep motivated! emoticon

I am watching the Biggest Loser and feeling depressed, cause I want to be on the show. Need that motivation so bad, and now I see pictures of my older brother, who retired from the Army and he has gained weight, I don't want my brother to have the problems I have. I need to try more, but need that kick in the butt to stay on track.

I had a very good b-day! Currently unemployed, so no work to deal with. Got to spend the day with my husband, went out for breakfast, on our walk and just hung out the rest of the day. A good part of our day was spent dropping off and picking up kids. They are much busier than us these days.

It's my birthday tomorrow, so today I'll be taking stock of the past year and noting areas of progress and set new goals to achieve this coming year. I find I'm a lot more honest with myself concerning areas of health and fitness since Sparkpeople and more willing to do something about my current state of health. It is a new beginning of sorts. I don't have young children anymore, but when travelling in my country you can just look on the kids faces and see all the excitement of going to a new school and all, and of course all the young eager parents watching their kids go off to school. Beautiful sight. emoticon

Strength training is supposed to help with that I think. I haven't really gotten into that yet. I'm still putting everything I have into the cardio. I find it takes me at least 3 weeks of concentrating on one thing at a time to make that a habit. Maybe strength training should be next on my list.

Thanks for your response. I still am a blimp from the stomach down too. Yes I do see the baggy as less important than loosing the weight but I wonder if there is something I could be doing to improve on the baggy as well.

Great to have you back. The huddle wall is where you go on a daily basis to say Hi hello or whatever to the rest of of your team. When you click on "my spark teams" each day you will be invited to huddle. We have a competition going among ourselves, just visit the Spark Team Page and you will get the necessary information. I am so far behind it is unreal! The training at the first of the week was a good one! Since I am still fairly new to this position that is a good thing! I didn’t totally blow my diet either, and was able to get in some walking while site seeing, so that is good too!

Sadly there are other Curves in the area, but they're just not convenient to the rest of my life. I'm thinking about other options.

I can try the running again. I've avoided running since 7/2, other than what I did at curves in between the machines, and I feel much better. That would keep me going until the weather turns.

I'm thinking of finding somewhere where I can take classes rather than just going in and doing something on my own. I always used to like that best.

that's great that you went to Curves so much! I was told by the ladies there that you CAN go every day if you are able, but to take it easy every 2nd day if you do that. Like one day focus on the machines and your strength training and put your energy into that, and the next day take it easy on the machines and focus on your cardio (the recovery boards).. so maybe jumping jacks or something that will get your heartrate up more than just walking.

Too bad that your location is closing.. is there another one you can go to that is close by?

So I joined Curves last Monday and really was enjoying myself. I was there everyday last week, including Saturday.

Went today, only to find out the location was closing. Last day is Wednesday.
