Good Morning Rhonda

Yesterday in the pool was fantastic. I had the entire pool and the pool deck to myself. Was also feeling good so emoticon 106 lengths later had done my best in the pool ever. The scale this morning celebrated with me as down. emoticon I can already feel today's pool time will be less but that is OK.

Did I tell you I got dragged out shopping on Sunday and ended up buying a new outfit. I will have to have them taken in when I hit goal but they will get me through this point and I LOVE them.

Glad you had a quiet day and now have a short work week. I saw that band of weather crossing over on the Weather Channel and thought you were really going to be hit so glad you were spared the worst of it. South West Florida desperately needs the rain and they are hoping we will get some tomorrow.

Good Morning Elizabeth emoticon good idea planning on hitting the pool earlier today. The hotter it is the more people head to the pool. You will do great dinning out this week you are doing so well with all of your social activities. emoticon

It was quiet at work yesterday, the students had the day off and we had meetings etc. We had rain off and on all day, thank heavens the really nasty weather was a couple of hours away from us.

So very happy that your tendon is showing signs of recovery. Having dealt with tendon issues in horses I know how touchy they can be and how easy it is to disrupt the healing so glad you are watching it.

We are supposed to get near record heat today so again thrilled I picked the pool for my work outs. Yesterday I was a little late getting there and it was crowded so planning to get there earlier today. I got through the potluck yesterday with no change in the weight today- emoticon I have dining out on my calendar until the weekend so hope to get at least another pound off.

Elizabeth you had a good week emoticon Didn't you love having the pool to yourself. emoticon Congrats on all your clothes being super big, yes it can be very frustrating. You had some very good advice for Katrina. I think the resistance bands will be great for her to use. My rebounder was $100.00 I have seen priced from$50-
500 dollars. She could check out Spark People for their free videos.

My tendon is better, there is a touch of soreness so I'm not ready to get back to rebounding. I don't want to risk causing a major inflammation. Our weather is nuts, we are in for another nasty round of nasty weather on Monday. It's been a quiet weekend emoticon

Happy Sunday Rhonda. How is the tendon today? Wow you sure had the weather system this week, glad you came out of it OK.

Walked Ruairi this morning and the humidity was up. Not sure if it is supposed to stay this way but I have only 2 weeks before I start my trek back North. Yesterday I had the pool entirely to myself as almost everyone in the park was involved in their 'Olympics' in some way. Sure glad my current sport is in the water emoticon

Busy busy week for me, full of possible pitfalls but I triumphed, lol. Only down a wee bit but down is down. We ate out 3 nights and had guests for dinner one night last week-INSANE. Now to get through the German potluck today. It was awful dressing to go out as almost everything now hangs on me but not wanting to buy anything unless I absolutely have to as I have clothes gathering dust in the closet at home that will fit plus I intend to continue downward to goal.

Had a video chat with Katrina yesterday. She is down a total of 78 from her high point. She saw her bariatric team on Friday and all is very good. Only thing is her doctor wants her to up her activity level. She is cash strapped so suggesting even rec centers is not going to work for her. I was wondering about the rebounder Rhonda-are they expensive? I am going to buy some resistance bands to ship to her when I get home. Her average weight loss is 3.5 pounds a week with which her doctor is very happy.

I chatted with her about food pushers and saboteurs. She has run into a couple already but I warned her that her Mom can be one-Oh you are too skinny; you have lost too much- could be in the not too distant future.

emoticon Good Morning. Not feeling 100% today so will miss the pool. I woke up with a congestion headache and some other aches so hope not coming down with something.

I saw you tracked rebounding Rhonda so the tendon must be doing much better indeed. I know you listen to your body well so trust you will not re injure it. As to juicing, I have had the occasional V-8 or tomato juice, just never thought of juicing other veggies.

87? emoticon that is crazy. We have been hitting 80 most days but not higher. In my opinion, perfect.

Thank heavens my tendon is feeling much better. I'm still being very careful not to strain it. i woke up at 2:30 this morning and could not go back to sleep, so far I'm not to tired. One if my friends has been talking about the healing power of fresh celery juice, I got out the juicer and gave it a try it was tasty, the trick is to do it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. I think I'm going to do it again in the morning. It's supposed to detox the body along with hydrating it. emoticon
I'm on a big green veggie kick right now, my body must need them. emoticon

Oh dear. An inflamed tendon is awful. I know register from having horses. Since you have had it before you know what it takes. I hope it improves rapidly for you. And yes, relax relax relax this weekend.

Katrina continues to do very well. She has dropped 70 pounds from her highest. Still about 90 to go but the change in her is mind blowing.

I am down 49 from what I was last Spring so very happy. Bought a new swimsuit. It is slightly tight but the one I bought a month or so ago is starting to bag.

No special weekend plans, the joy of retirement.

Unfortunately swimming would not be good right now it would aggravate the ankle. Yes I'm icing etc, I had to change what I had planned yesterday workwise, I did not want to do a lot of walking. There are certain students that I work with that I have to walk with them back and forth to where we are are going to be talking because you can't trust them to get there one their own. emoticon Today I will be in meetings mist of the day so that will not be an issue. It feels better this morning. emoticon emoticon

emoticon emoticon Down a pound today. Kicking that scale to the curb. I swam less lengths than my best day but took fewer breaks so happy.

Food Pusher? I will remember that term. I thought about it and thought about it and while thinking I should not have interfered and spoken as I did, I realize that the 'pusher' is probably jealous of the success Martha and I are having. She struggles with her weight and awhile back said she had given up as it did not matter at her age (68). So I will leave it at that and accept she is a pusher.

Your ankle? That is a bad joint to injure. Are you icing and elevating where you can Rhonda? Would pool work help? I sure hope it gets back to normal ASAP

Your description of the Super Bowl action in Houston seems to be what happens at every major sporting event these days. At least there was no rioting.

Woo Hoo Elizabeth emoticon emoticon there is a food pusher in every group of people. I heard Patriot's fans surrounded the team hotel, they had extra police on duty for crowd control there and at the location of their party after the game.

I have irritated my left ankle, its sore and feels like it needs to pop all the time and I have no idea what caused the issue. I'm going to do upper body workouts until my ankle is back to normal. emoticon

I agree. You need to stay home and stay safe. It sounds like it could be truly insane today in Houston and area. I a going to a Superbowl party. We have awesome friends and it will be another eating hurdle-sigh. I am bringing a shrimp ring as I can eat shrimp with no worries. I am also bringing bruschetta but will have no worries passing on it due to the bread.

And emoticon today. The slight weight gain is gone and am down a quarter pound from where I was when I headed up to Orlando. All those treats passed on were so worth it. Back in the pool today and, of course Ruairi is making sure I get my walking in.

No big plans for the weekend, I will watch the big game this evening from the comfort of home. There is no way I'm going to be on the road after the game, it can be as dangerous as New Year's Eve, not to mention the traffic will be insane since the game is in Houston. I had to laugh when the ground hog predicted 6 more weeks of winter, other than a few days we have been having spring. emoticon

I am back from Orlando an although the scale shows a weight gain it is only 1/4 the gain I had last time so I am taking that as a little victory. And I know where I went off the rails. So a few days in the pool and with Ruairi emoticon back in charge of my walking that little gain will be gone and then back to losing.

We lost the laptop while in Orlando and had to replace it; one reason I was out of touch. now have a fancy new laptop- emoticon

Got off to a terrible start in Orlando by eating and drinking off the rails on Friday. I was tired and hungry and we had issues with the room on checking in. No excuse I know. However been back on track since. I am not prepared to go backwards on this journey to health.

emoticon Good Morning. headed to the pool any minute. Missed yesterday as went bowling instead. had fun but the scores were deplorable.
Back from the pool and did 100 lengths again ( not an Olympic size pool) and did it this time without rest breaks!

Sorry you did not sleep well Rhonda. I had that same problem on Tuesday evening so took my powerful sleeping pill last night. A little groggy still.

Tomorrow we leave for Orlando for a week.

I do like pepper in my food, especially as I do not add salt. There is a lot of information coming out on the gut flora; I need to do some reading up.

Today is a good day to stay inside they are predicting 35 mile per hour winds for most of today. I need to do some more cooking for the week. emoticon emoticon and of course watch playoff football. emoticon One of the things I have started dong is adding in more green superfoods in my diet by adding green powder into my water along with lemon juice and cayenne pepper, they are supposed to help balance out the acid in our bodies. I have been reading up on alkaline foods. The pepper is supposed to help with inflammation and pain. I figure it can't hurt, as long as I don't add to much pepper. emoticon emoticon

Relax away Rhonda. I think the rain you got is headed our way as they have warned of potentially strong storms tomorrow evening. emoticon

Yesterday was a sort of Wow day for me. I went shopping with some friends at the Outlet stores. One friend popped into her favourite clothing store. I have been in it multiple times with her and some other friends who love it. Never has there been anything to fit me in there. I spotted a shirt I suggested my friend try on but my other friend insisted it would look better on me and I should try it on. After much explaining nothing in there ever fit me I capitulated under pressure and wow-it fit! emoticon since it was a long flowing see through shirt I needed a tank to wear underneath and wow-it fit! Needless to say I walked out with 2 tank tops and the shirt. To top it off, all were on sale. Great incentive to keep going.

Good Morning emoticon I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. emoticon We had some strong thunderstorms last night, which lead to street flooding and cars getting stuck. Good news it was not as bad as it was earlier this week.

Glad it is not too crazy at work Rhonda. Noted there was some flooding in Texas so hope you are high and dry, even if humid. We are getting higher than normal temperature but thank heavens not the humidity.

emoticon emoticon Good Tuesday morning friends.

I took yesterday off as was feeling wiped, probably from doing 90 lengths in the pool on Sunday morning. Paid off as my BMI slipped from the obese into the overweight range yesterday morning. emoticon emoticon emoticon now to get into the healthy range.

The show was very good and I bought a CD to enjoy some of the music later. The fiddler also does Canadian Step Dancing. What a workout that would be.

Down again today emoticon glad I only had the Greek salad last night instead of the HUGE Italian style sandwiches.

We are attending a show here in the park this evening, The Hunter and the Doe are performing, a celtic music group. I am really looking forward to it. Other than that the pool and walking Ruairi are my priorities.

Yes, Full Moon and friday the 13-Wow! Hope you don't get the effects at work.

I did well bowling and only a little tug in the gluteal muscle, as per usual. I think it is all because the movement I make is like a lunge and I am lousy at those lol. Into the pool today and maybe a bit shopping.


Warming here but very low humidity so I am loving it

its going to be near 80 here in a few days, not normal even for us. I enjoyed m weekend. My fingers are crossed that i have a calm work week. emoticon

Cool down here so no way the pool. I seem to have recovered my energy but up a couple of pounds too emoticon Got back on track yesterday but will be more careful that I eat enough calories.

It's 27 degrees outside thank heavens we did not get any freezing rain, that would have been a huge mess. I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend, playoff football emoticon starts today. i will be getting together with friends to cheer our Texans on, hopefully to a win. It's a good day to watch football on tv.
