My legs are a little sore today, I tried some new Pilates moves yesterday. I will do the full workout tomorrow. I wonder how my body will feel afterwards? Lol emoticon

It's thundering and sunny right now and it's hot out there! emoticon I had a good check up at the dentist, I go back in 3 months to see how its healing and to talk more about the next step which will be the implant post. emoticon

emoticon emoticon Good Morning Rhonda. Happy Hump day.

So, my first clue it might be a different class yesterday was the regular instructor was back. And she warned everybody (me-lol) who had started the class with her replacement that she was the instructor and the class would be different. And it was. Oy Vay did I sweat. I pulled something, just a bit, in my left groin/thigh area but just because I don't usually move laterally with my legs often. During the cool down I just wanted to lie on the mat and drown in my pool of sweat despite what Ann Landers says: That said it was pretty obvious I need this kind of work out so when she said she had a class on Monday morning at the same time I will go to that. I am happy to donate a pool day to this cario/strength/flexibility training. But into the pool today for laps.

I tried that protein supplement. First thing I did was gasp at the enormous size of the scoop. If I took that much each time then sure, 30 gms. of fprotein and a new bottle every 2 weeks and at that price sure could not afford that! So I measured out the size of the scoop and it is 5 Tbsp. That is ridiculous. I put half in my oatmeal, which was an overwhelming taste but one I could live with. I will start seeing if I can get my protein levels up with a half 'scoop' a day. Next time I have a question ready for the store: How BIG is a serving?

Hope the emoticon emoticon were not too bad. And nice to be able to hide in the a/c.

Sunday and yesterday I worked in the emoticon Sunday was perhaps too long and it was hard work as I was digging out sod and preparing a new portion of a garden bed. I plan on heading out to one of the big daylily providers sometime between Thursday-Sunday as they are offering quite a bargain on daylilys. That will mean more digging and planting. What can I say, it is its own form of work out.

More traditional today as I am again going to try that aerobics class I liked last week.

Good afternoon Rhonda. Hope you are feeling more energetic and not too hot. How was your get together with friends?

So I bought a new hosta, a new daylily and finally gave in and bought the variegated iris I have eyed every trip to a nursery this year. The places for the hosta and iris are determined but I think I wlil have to dig an addition to my one flower bed for the daylily. That is OK as I was thinking of making it larger anyway and it is good exercise.

So I FINALLY did some reading today and realize I have been a total and complete idiiot. I was using the minimum daily protein on my nutrition guide with SP and getting all pleased when I met it. Today I learned that for my current weight, that amount keeps me from a deficiency but is absolutely not enough, especially if 1. trying to lose weight (still another 4 pounds) 2. exercising and 3 optimum health. I need DOUBLE what I considered enough. So back to protein supplements I go. Discussed it with Al and he is happy if I try some of the powders.

I did enjoy the mani/pedi very much and also enjoyed both my w/o yesterday followed by the visit with Corinne. I enjoyed my salad but do think they have messed with it a bit.

Still tired? Maybe the heat and humidity are getting to you? And good news there is no cause for concern from the dentist.

Do you have plans for the weekend? Other than getting to the never ending weeds on Saturday it will be same old same old with laundry and cleaning. We pay pop out to a local nursery as they are having a 20% off sale.

emoticon again. In fact, as of yesterday this is already the wettest year on record in Ottawa. They have changed the forecast for the weekend which was supposed to be beautiful to rain tomorrow and Sunday and overcast Saturday. I should just feel lucky I am getting any flowers at all but doubt Al will get his vegetables as it has also been cooler than normal. A bad combo, cool and wet.

I too listened to my body yesterday and took the day off. Very much enjoyed the mani/pedi but would have dozed off if Mel, my esthetician, and I had not been gaily chatting away. She is absolutely wonderful and so much help. She had therapy years ago for body images so knows what that is like.

Back to the gym today and then out for lunch with Cor. Already know what I will have-the fantastic salad at the Red Dot.

How are you feeling today Rhonda? Any more 'alive'?

Hope all is well and the dentist can reassure you or take care of any issues. Good for you to listen to your body.

I too am tired this morning, although I think it has a lot to do with a certain DOG waking me at 3:30. I am contemplating seeing if I can get back to sleep, usually a lost cause, as cannot swim my laps until 11:25.

Found a class yesterday! emoticon It is one of their Basic, that is beginner, fitness classes that had facets of strength, cardio and balance incorporated into it. I could at least do most of what was required and there were modifications explained for those who had, like me, back issues. Tuesday mornings will now be that class.

I'm going to be very wild today and go to Wal-Mart, I know I'm out of control. emoticon I eat wild frozen blueberries every morning and I can get a big bag of them at w-mart. Doing the Happy Dance emoticon emoticon emoticon as after a good swim yesterday I am emoticon emoticon again today. And yesterday i accepted that I am just never going to get into a couple of pair of pants still in my closet so they are now folded into the give away pile. i guess it is true what they say about thickening bodies after menopause as I am about 7 pounds lower than my lowest since I was 21.

emoticon Who knows what today will bring weather wise? Rained all night and still very dark.

Good Morning Rhonda. emoticon How was your wild day doing laundry? lol

Although retired and could do anything any day our horrendous Hydro rates make me pay heed to their smart meter and what times cost less. As a result I work like a dog all weekend, cheapest rates, doing anything requiring electricity: baking, vacuuming, laundry etc. I also threw in dehydrating a couple of herbs from our garden. last year we had a ton of zucchini so thinking i may dehydrate some of that once they start arriving, rather than making the breads which Al quickly grew sick of.

emoticon today. My body is really fighting me again but now I know what it is doing so not discouraged, just determined. What are your plans for the week?

Ouch emoticon Sounds awful. I hope everything heals quickly with no problems and can certainly see why you would be careful.

emoticon Some people will believe anything. Hmm, let me know if rolling works as the one quasi yoga class uses them emoticon

So made the stuffed peppers last evening using the turkey instead of beef and Al liked it so going to make spaghetti sauce today using it. The less beef we eat the happier I am.

Big Thunderstorm last night and we lost power about 03:40. It is still out and the estimate is back by 10-10:30. Very grateful it happened actually as the generator is getting a good long run AND we now know that they failed to wire the new thermostat into the generator (as they were supposed to). If we had not had a power outage before heading south we would have gone off believing everything would work if the power switched to generator.

I had to chuckle one day at work last week someone was telling me they are going to get their extra day off by rolling it off because they have no intention of eating better or working out. emoticon I didn't have much to say other than you paid $100.00 for a day roller? emoticon

I had to have a molar extracted the other day, I cracked it in half.. We were hoping the repair in Dec would work, it didn't. I had a bone graft and will get an implant later, its a long and expensive process. My jaw is pretty naked and I have to be very careful with eating due to the stitches. I have not worked out since Thursday and I'm ok with that right now. I'm not doing much this weekend other than relaxing. emoticon

Back to regular scheduled programming today emoticon I am just trying to decide if it will be yoga or emoticon I am tending to the latter as have not been in the pool since last week but also know that the emoticon was highly recommended. Decisions, decisions. Either way, after the workout it is into the garden.

And now the emoticon is showing from what I was before leaving for London. emoticon In total I have lost 118 from my highest in 2005 and am 1 pound away from my new goal. S till thinking I may want to try for another 5 below that as a very stubborn fat pocket is sitting on my left thigh and driving me crazy.

107??? Sorry, you can keep that temperature down there. I think we may hit 80 today but going to have sun all day! Ecstatic.

Cardio Boxing? Good for you. I will be just puttering around the place as I have 2 appointments to keep today. Back at it tomorrow, after the car is in for the oil change and whatever else they find.

So the scale shows about 3/4 pound up but I think that more from sitting all day yesterday. Hopefully better tomorrow

Yesterday I got the new suit. I cannot believe the size! Yes, I know that sizes do not really matter and what might be a size 10 in one suit is a size 14 in another but still excited as cannot recall ever wearing this size before lol. I only had 2 suits to choose from, as I have a long torso so a bit disappointing. We had thunderstorms off and on all day yesterday. emoticon emoticon
It looks like we are stuck in this pattern for several more days. There was a little bit of teen drama in one of the summer programs yesterday, I think all is well now. emoticon

Will be a late start today as I want to emoticon laps and the pool is not available until 11:30. Maintaining the loss emoticon but not down at all emoticon

Worked in the garden a lot yesterday then made Al his soup and his cookies. If I can will make muffins this afternoon or Wednesday. Tuesday is gym then out to visit my friend.

At least the tropical storm did not do any damage Rhonda. And yes, lying in bed listening to rain is lovely. A day without emoticon is impossible

We have been having short yet pretty heavy pop up rain storms. emoticon One just finished. emoticon emoticon I have to admit listening to it rain made it a little harder to get out of bed this morning. Thank heavens for coffee! emoticon

emoticon is a pain for the pool for sure. And your day yesterday seems to describe the normal day around here lol this Spring and Summer.

I won't be taking too much make ahead stuff with me but will take my gluten-free bread, some of the Premium Protein, my oatmeal and some berries and almonds I put in the oatmeal. Depending on how much room I have in my cooler will be the Skyr yogurt and maybe some chicken quarters. Anything else I can shop for there I guess and Rita has asked me several times what I am eating lol.,

No, the cooking will be for Al to eat while I am gone. Some cookies I guess, maybe a stew and or chili. I should do an onion soup which he can use to make his favourite French Onion Soup He has other soups in the freezer and he is capable of cooking but I worry he may just do the deli meats for lunch if he has no other alternatives.

Well, since I still want to lose that other 5ish pounds I wonder what size but should be good with same make and size I have now. My last suit is still good but I like to have 2.

The pool still looks like it's on the green side, but due to thunderstorms I don't think anyone is using it this weekend. We also had sun, storms and rain yesterday. I think it's more of the same today.

Today I will be in the kitchen a lot as I get things made ahead for an Albert 'survival' kit for next weekend lol. I also need to do some more emoticon Guess that does not need to be said, lol, as it s such an on going project all summer.

Nope, don't like saunas inside nor outside. Any progress on your green pool?

Not sure how I felt about the water yoga yesterday. It was not at all like the one I took in Hawaii. The instructor had us doing yoga poses in the water. The downward dog just, in my opinion, was a total loss. However I heard some conversation afterwards that this was a substitute instructor so may try it again. The Movati in London only has one pool and offers far fewer classes of any kind so will likely just try for lengths next weekend. I must get out an buy a new swimsuit this week.

Yesterday was good. I did a half hour emoticon and was tempted to go longer but decided not to push it. Came home, relaxed then did 45 minutes in the emoticon Considering the humidity that should count as much more, emoticon

Today going to try the water yoga at the gym. I was introduced to that in 2010 on my honeymoon in emoticon but never since. Hoping I like this as much. Be a chance to use the gloves I bought way back then.

Thank you for asking. I finally feel more myself. I took yesterday off and did virtually nothing all day. Today I will be back to the gym. Going in later and only emoticon , no classes. I wonder if I pushed it a little trying too much at a time? I thought about it and realized that here I am 10 years later (and thus older) trying to do more exercise while dieting than I did the last time. I have maintained my weight for a week emoticon but have decided to try for that next 5 pounds off so again a good reason not to overdo the exercise on top of the fewer calories. Will be a bit tougher too as this time next week I am at the S-i-L and I know what the first thing out of her mouth will be emoticon You are TOO skinny. It was when she saw me last time at about 15 pounds more than I am currently. I am bringing food with me to her place!

We are very lucky that the impact from Cindy is going to be very mild in my area, it looks like it's going to be a big rain maker on the eastern side of the storm. It's a good reminder to check my emergency supplies and stock up on batteries, water etc. Last night was one of those restless, toss and turn nights and I don't know why.

Sounds like your pool is experiencing the same issue as the Olympic Diving pool last year. Hope they get it fixed for you soon.

Woke up really tired, even though I slept reasonably well. Did my strength training and then did the class that is a weird one but I like. But at the end of the class I was hit with nausea. An hour+ later and still feeling that way so hope I am not coming down with something.

Sure hope you don't get impacted too badly by tropical storm Cindy

Good Morning Elizabeth emoticon how was the aqua class? Are you and Am going to his sister's for your long weekend?

They can't seem to keep it from turning green, their plan for this week is to drain it and refill it and start over. I can't describe the humidity right now there is a tropical storm in the gulf and warm moist air is pouring in. Good news is we will get some wind and a little rain nothing major. They are predicting a lot of rain in the areas easy of the storm.

Just killing time before I head to the gym/pool. I have decided to try one of the aqua course. They advertise it as being work on the core which I so so need.

The class yesterday was great. I could feel lots of knots etc but it was very laid back. I will continue to take that and the Wednesday one, but of course, the instructor is going on a 2-week holiday and then I am away our Long weekend (July 1) but hope to get to the Movati there.

That is a shame about the pool. What is having to be done? Oh yes, the humidity will always get people talking.

Flexible is a great thing Elizabeth. emoticon How was the class? They are still having issues with the pool grumble, grumble, grumble. I had to chuckle yesterday everyone I talked to said the same thing about the heat and humidity, it but all of us that the summer sweltering is on! emoticon At least we don't have to shovel snow. emoticon

I keep forgetting where you live, in the sun belt so yes, guess you would have road works all year round. Still, better than emoticon I would NEVER be able to function without a/c, at least for sleeping.

Down again almost a half pound-weird but I will take it. emoticon Today going to try another quasi-yoga class with that instructor I like. Thus far the classes I like are on M/W/F so think I will change which days I swim to T/T. Must be flexible right?

Good Morning Rhonda.

Today being Father's Day I spoil Al a bit. Going to drive him to the pedicure appointment I made for him so I can get a couple of photos of him there, then home to do some gardening although it is supposed to be emoticon and sticky.

Here we often say we have 2 seasons, winter and road work so I guess that it is your road work season. A shame it made you have to take a long detour.

Am down almost a half pound emoticon so guess I will have to increase the calorie intake although secretly pleased. From here on I will increase by 50 calories a time. Not going to increase though until been on the 1300 at least a week-you know about those daily weight fluctuations.

I enjoyed spending time with friends yesterday. The drive home was somewhat of a pain, I had to take a big detour due to road work. The detour was better than getting stuck in the freeway in a huge traffic jam for mikes. emoticon

We are supposed to have a really crappy day today with the rain and the emoticon I hope to get into the garden and weed early and the rest of the day is cleaning and laundry.

Yesterday I tried Zumba Gold lol. It reminded me why, in training with the RCMP, my troop mates had to march around behind me. I was holding broomsticks as was the person behind to get me to coordinate my arms and legs lol. Still, it will be one H of a workout once I can figure out how to do it lol. In fact, I was too ppooped to even try and get in a swim afterwards.

Thank you for my goodie-a vacation would be so great right now emoticon Yesterday I tried a class that I liked-a really good instructor. It was to work on the soft tissue and movement. Well, I had to roll on balls and rollers and sure discovered places that were very tender or very sore but had no idea that by evening it would now be pain. Woke up with pain and cramps this morning but still planning on going back to the class. Swam and then home to plant what I bought the day before. Good thing I am doing triceps and emoticon today.

Got that extra 100 calories in yesterday. Makes me feel more confident knowing you think that is a good way to try.

Huge huge moment this morning as I stepped on the emoticon Below Goal. So now I decide if I set a new one for 5 pounds more or begin the really hard task of maintaining. I am thinking, and would love your input, that I bump up the calories a little while keeping to the exercise and see what happens?

So tough for the kids that don't fit in. And such a good thing you were there for him. You have an immensely difficult but so worthwhile job Rhonda.

Our humidity has broken! Today I will plant a couple of things we bought yesterday before heading to the pool. No 'lane running' for me today lol. If I have to go this afternoon then afternoon it be.

Good Morning Elizabeth emoticon good for you swimming laps even though there was a water aerobics class going on. That happened to me one time our pool is not big enough to do both at the same time so I had to get out of the pool.

One of my summer school kids had a melt down yesterday, I was hoping he was going to make it through without that happening. He appeared to be in a better place after 45 minutes. He is very quirky and just doesn't fit in, so school is a struggle for him. Our weather is typical summer sticky but it couldn't decide if it was going to rain or not yesterday. We had rumbles of thunder and occasional sprinkles.
