I teach a lot of different formats, and I love all of them. Whatever class I am teaching, at that moment, THAT CLASS and THAT FORMAT becomes my favorite. I teach zumba, spin, step, cardio kickboxing, hi/lo aerobics stability ball and strength training. Some of my classes are all one thing or another, and others are a mix of several of the above list. I like it either way. I work with kids, teens, young adults, older adults, active seniors, and seniors with disabilities. I enjoy working with all of those different age groups. I teach at several locations. Some are state of the art and fancy smancy with everything that the participants and a fitness instructor could want...others are an empty room and a boom box (which I bring with me). It doesn't matter...I love it. I have been teaching group fitness classes for over 38 years now. To hang with it THAT long, one HAS to LOVE IT!!!!! emoticon

I love teaching spin b/c it is not choreographed and since I absolutely love music, I get to share that with my classes. I also like that it such an individual exercise and everyone can go their own level without getting in anyone else's way!

I've taught a lot of formats too. I usually like the newest one I am teaching the best because it's something different. So right now, I guess my favorite is aerial hammock (aerial yoga). It's a great combination of yoga stretches without the resistance of the floor, trx strengthening type exercises (everything is so much more challenging with the movement of the hammock sling). Mostly I love the inversions and "tricks" and combinations. Challenges not available in other formats. We're the only place in our town offering it. So everyone is very interested in trying it.

What is your all time favorite" format" of class to teach, or maybe a "I want to" teach format?

It is a question that even though I am asking it, is very hard for me to answer :)

I have taught so many kinds of formats and love most of them so it is hard to pick just one. It is also hard sometimes to separate the fact that the students sometimes make the class better, so to try focus on JUST the FORMAT I have narrowed it down to 3:

"20/20/20"- a huge hit at my ladies gym, I loved it as well
20 minutes of Cardio (this would vary, usually though the ladies enjoyed Urban Rebounding as their cardio choice)
20 minutes of strength (they didn't enjoy this so much as I did all complex moves-actually they did love it but loved to groan through it-I was the instructor they loved to hate)
20 minutes of Core and Yoga

"BodyPump/Group Power"-Amazing programs-certified in both, similar classes, they are such a safe and effective way to get people to do muscle conditioning, so many women who were afraid of using weights would fall in love with this class..and lots of guys used it as a cross training tool to their heavier floor workouts. High energy music and moves that have been tested and approved and proven to be safe and effective..can't get much better!

Cycle (Ride/RPM)-I LOVE freestyle cycle, I am good at it...don't mean to pat myself on the back but It is probably my #1 Passion in group X. I am very music driven and cycling is a huge music motivated program. I love putting chorey to great music...I am also certified in RPM and Group Ride which are also great programs and some people just prefer it.

Ok, next?????

One hand can lift a soul,
One word can frame the goal,
