I think it has all been said, but challenges and activity would certainly help. The best way to lead others is by example, so maybe our first challenge should be an activity challenge- something along the lines of "post a new useful/related thread once a month and comment on another thread once a week." Just a thought. If there is not an official challenge in place, maybe those of us who are not leading, but would like to see something happen in here can just pull the team along ourselves.
Challenges are great, but being ACTIVE is HUGE! Many of the threads haven't been touched in nearly a year (or more)... I joined because I need support and accountability, and if the board isn't active, we can't get (or give) that support.

keeping to the topic, i have a ton of weight to loose and i want to get rid of it quickly, and how hard it is for me as i am so large, embarrassed to go to the gym, etc......i am new to the site so i have not looked around the site a lot yet
I think some weekly or monthly goals would be great. I think they should be small to begin with but then add on to them each week/month. For instance getting to the gym 3x a week for a month. Month/week 2 would be gym 3x weekly slong with one cardio class. Then at some point start from scratch for the newcomers like every 3 months or so.
I'm sure a lot of you get support from home or a trainer but some of us don't. Partnering people up might help some of us. You know to make sure were doing the challenges and to make sure the other is trying to reach their goals at least to some point.
I think having some challenges would help. I am on one team and they do a challenge every couple of months and that helps me to build a little bit of consistency and momentum. It's just simple things like, get your water in, post on a team member's blog, get in some cardio, just stuff like that. I need some motivation cuz I've fallen off track yet again. I'm watching my calories, but I'm not getting enough exercise in and I've gained about 8 lbs back.

One team I am a member of has too many post every day that don't really have to do with the losing weight or being more active....I'm about to quit that group. Another team I am a member of that is really helpful has posts where people can really discuss the issues they are facing, and offers A LOT of support.
The issues we face as 30-somethings with a lot of weight to lost are different than other age groups and people with less weight to lose. Maybe we could start with a thread where members of this Team can post specific challenges they have had. For the challenges that seem to be repeated, we can create separate threads where we can discuss how to overcome those challenges.

I think challenges, even if they are "get all your water in" and stuff like that help. Send out an e-mail to everyone, because I know I only get new message board entries recently because I changed my options. Before I never knew if there was a new post.
Maybe we should start over on a "getting to know you post"

I was just looking at my SparkTeams the other day and realized the only reason I joined this group was because of the name. I don't really interact with the group except to huddle for points and that's not building community. That said, some SparkTeams are very active and some are not and this one is not.
What would make you active and help each other here?
