Hi TessaCat. I boil the water with a cinnamon stick (about 6 cm in length), a few cardamom pods and some mint leaves. I sometimes also use a star anise. The whole spices are generally good for health and fresh mint leaves are medicinal without being bitter. I do not take sugar or milk with my coffee but when I make it for my husband, I use a bit of fresh milk which I heat up before adding to the coffee.

I know I'm supposed to eat breakfast every day, but I don't for two reasons: first, I am always SO HUNGRY by mid-morning that breakfast actually makes things worse for me. Second, I prefer to save my calories for later in the day when I always enjoy them more.
That said, my regular breakfast is just a small non-fat cappuccino from my favorite local coffee house.
