I just wanted to be clear I wasn't trying to force you to see things my way. Sometimes I sound like a know-it-all. I've watched every episode at least 6 times so I know the show pretty well. Also, after I bought season 3 on DVD on Black Friday I watched every episode in order, starting from the pilot, all the way through to current. When you haven't seen an episode in awhile you forget some of what happened, so I enjoy watching them again at least once a year to brush up.

Shows like this are AU - Alternate Universe - where they start the show in reality and as the writers set the rules for their reality they take the characters further and further out of our reality. If they were in school all the time they wouldn't be able to have all the 'adventures' and drama that we really want to see. I also watch Supernatural which did the same thing - in the first season they were always running from the police and FBI, using fraudulent credit cards to pay for gas and food, etc - as they get further into the series they've already established that this stuff happens and they always get away with it, so now they can focus on all the things that can't really happen in our world. With TVD, the pilot episode shows Stefan compelling his way into being a student without any paperwork. www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-eKT
TZlLQI
That's one of the first rules we learned: that in their reality they don't have to be 'normal' because they can make people forget their duties and ignore rules. Later in season 1 we see how news stories can get the boys in trouble, but they get away with it by compelling themselves out of the problem or kill people and cover it up with the help of the Founder's Council that doesn't want problems that can make the 'regular' people worry. We also will never know people outside of the main and supporting cast because then the fans would be too involved with too many characters. Books are the same way - you have to show a handful of characters outside the main group, but you never develop them because then people are distracted from the story you are telling.

Stefan has corrected teachers before - Mr Tanner, the history teacher who was killed in season 1 and replaced by Ric, challenged him on dates. youtu.be/F-WIsnJR4Hk I loved this scene. Also, Bekah did bring up in class about the Vikings being the first settlers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=adSx9xmXkHk Of course, if they were to actually teach the class about what they know, then that would expose their secret to the entire town and the world. But there are tons of flashbacks and stories being told so that the viewers get to learn what they need to know. The 'normal' inhabitants of the town have to be in the dark for the show to work.

Stefan is the younger brother and Damon is the older brother. I've never heard anything mentioned otherwise, unless maybe in sarcasm. Stefan was turned when he was 17 and is now 162 or 163 (they showed him turning 162 in the first season and he hasn't had another birthday on the show). Damon is assumed to have been in his early 20s (speculation is about 23) when he was turned, though his age and birthday have never been established. This isn't uncommon, as with as many characters as there are there would be a birthday every couple episodes and would slow the pace of the show. Elena was 17 when the show started and turned 18 during the first episode of season 3. They needed to move her age forward because Jeremy's and her parents are dead and Aunt Jenna was killed at the end of season 2, so by making her 18 she would no longer need a legal guardian and she can assume Jeremy's guardianship. No reason to show the legal proceedings on the show, but it's just a way to show a pinch of reality. Alaric still stayed with them, of course, but he couldn't be their legal guardian without a lot of paperwork and they would've been sent to foster care and gone through the courts, which would screw up the show. As for the age differences, the boys are vampires so there's going to be a difference in 'years on the planet', but since the emotional development and maturity levels seem to freeze when they're turned, age really doesn't matter. If you didn't know they're vampires it wouldn't be a problem because they look the same age. If they aged 1 year for every 5 years of existence that it would be a problem. When it comes to vampires, age really is in the mind of the beholder.

Honestly, going back and forth between brothers really isn't such an issue to me because I've seen worse IRL. I used to have a friend who has been with brothers, first dating/sleeping with one, then going to another. It destroyed their brotherly relationship, but neither could let her go fully. It's not that incredibly far-fetched of an idea to have a person in love with siblings. Look at the classic novel Little Women - a guy is so enamored by a family of girls that he is in love with one but ends up marrying another; he always loves all of them, but how he loves them morphs over time. Sure, when that book was written no woman of worth would sleep with a man she loved until she was married, but set it a few hundred years earlier or in modern time and it wouldn't be a stretch for both girls to sleep with him at some point. With the Stefan-Elena-Damon triangle, she has slept with Stefan many times but had only kissed Damon before she was sired to him. Vampires don't get pregnant, they don't contract diseases, and they can turn off their humanity switch if they feel hurt, so without the normal human consequences of sex why wouldn't they want to sleep around? In American society it is no longer taboo for people to have sex before marriage - the consequences are still troublesome, but it's actually relatively rare to find someone who hasn't had sex before marriage. There are tens of thousands of teenagers having babies and in our society that's no longer cause to think badly of someone. What's left to consider are the emotions, but the emotions in our teens and early 20s are all over the place anyways, so sometimes the love for a single person allows you to forgive their problems. For instance, women who are abused often don't leave the men who hurt them because they love them so much. As we saw in this week's episode, Stefan is destroyed when he finds out that Damon and Elena slept together; but does he blame Damon or Elena or both? Love will probably win out because the female mind tends to be so desperate in our belief that 'love conquers all' that to deny that love can win eventually (after a lot of drama and turmoil) is to destroy the fans' belief in all that is good and right in the world.

When it comes down to it, it's just a tv show. It's meant as entertainment, not to mirror reality. If what was on tv and in movies exactly mirrored real life, none of us would watch it. Even 'based on a true story' movies are embellished with scenes and script that are different from the real events to make it more 'realistic' and fit more neatly into what we would expect to happen in such a situation. Watching a show about vampires means taking a step into a world of fantasy.

Not looking for an argument. Was just saying how I see it and what I like and don't like about it.

I just find it funny that Elena and Stefan ( at least he was)and Rebeka are supposed to be high school kids. Yet they are never in class...just one party after another for one reason or another.
I think it would be funny to have Stefan sitting there in class and have the teacher talk about something from the 1940's or so and Stefan correct him on details he got wrong. Or Rebeka tell some details about the days of the Norsemen and show the teacher off. Maybe have them stand up in front of the class and actually teach details about something about the past in a way that makes the other kids really appreciate history. Maybe everyone wouldn't like that..and it couldn't be a steady thing..but I think it would be fun.

Also, who is the younger/older brother. The other week Stefan was at a table, I think, and they were talking about Damon and he said something about him being his little brother. Later in the same show, Damon called Stefan his younger brother. I think somebody messed up their lines or was written wrong. Stefan is the younger one...right?

I just don't like Elena ..who is what age 17/18 jumping back and forth, sleeping with one brother to another..sounds more like Peyton Place or Dallas or a Soap ..ha, ha.
Really, Elena is 17/18 and the brothers are 100 plus.Bit of an age difference there. Maybe when she lives to be 100, things will even themselves out. If they are going to have her go from one to the other, then just just be there with no hanky-panky till it resolves itself.
I mean really, how is both Damon and Stefan supposed to feel, when they know she is sleeping with them, then brother, then them. If they want to keep it real...both brothers would drop her and kick her to the curb. Not a nice reputation for her to have...especially at age 17/18.

Like I said in the beginning..not arguing. This is how I think, how I see it. You have your way, and someone else may see it totally different from us. I think it's good seeing other people's points of views.

I will take each day as it comes.

Disclaimer: I hope you know I'm not trying to argue, since every person who watches the show will have different views and different wants, leading to different opinions. I give my views, what I know, my opinions, etc as a way for us to play off ideas, not to discount your opinions. Talking over thoughts with others opens us up to other possible ideas and outcomes we haven't thought of. I hope you have the same want to talk things over, not to argue specific points. I know VampireDiariesWikia had a lot of problems after Elena's sire bond was revealed with people arguing and attacking each other personally instead of working together to better understand the show. I'm not taking anything you say personally, so I hope you'll do the same.

Just like Stefan left MF for a few episodes, Damon could just as easily leave for a few episodes then be brought back. There's no way he'd be gone for good, but he can be gone for awhile. It's always possible. I saw an interview with Joseph where he said at the end of S3 he heard Ian asking Julie to give him a little notice if he will be taken off the show because he'll have to sell his house and put his affairs in order to move. JoMo said if Ian is asking that, then he has no hope of feeling like his job is guaranteed. My point is that there's always a chance of changes. Plus while they can get away with losing a character or two along the way, if they got rid of everyone besides Stefan-Elena-Damon I'm certain they would lose the fans and the show would be done. The fans need the other characters.

Remember, the sire bond only works when the alpha says what they want. So it wasn't until Damon flat out told her to do something that she followed him. Right after she turned he said she must drink straight from the vein, so when Stefan took her out to hunt animals or Damon brought a blood bag to the church she got sick and couldn't drink it. It started right away, but only when Damon said 'this is the way it is'. Tyler could ignore Klaus and defy what he knew Klaus would want until Klaus said 'do this'. Then Tyler was forced to do it (like bite Caroline). Tyler tried to fight Klaus' wishes and he could until he knew exactly what was to be done and had the opportunity (he bit Caroline when he was near her neck, not the instant he saw her). When Damon said she must drink from the vein she didn't realize anything was 'different' until she tried to do something against his wishes - drink blood any other way.

The Salvatore brothers are modeled after most real life siblings, just like the Original Siblings - they hate to love to love to hate each other. It's like when one sibling says "I'm the only one that gets to pick on my brother!" They are basically tormenting each other out of love, so they do it, but they can't stand to be without each other. So saying there shouldn't be conflict between the brothers is like saying they shouldn't be brothers - you can't separate the conflict from the relationship without destroying the reality of the relationship. Remember, they turned when they were 17 and early 20s, which is when many siblings are right at that cusp of 'get out of my life' and 'let's be friends', and it seems few vampires can emotionally mature beyond the age they were when they turned. I think the only way to destroy the conflict and keep the brother relationship is to do it abnormally, or at least supernaturally, like if Klaus compels them to get along. I'd quickly get bored of watching Stefan and Elena being the perfectly happy couple and Damon enjoying their happiness from the sideline. It'd be like watching paint dry!

And yes, Stefan and Elena have slept together. The first time was in the s1ep10, Turning Point, after career night. Short explaination copied from VampireDiariesWikia vampirediaries.wikia.com/wiki/Elena_
an
d_Stefan

"Elena and Jenna spoke over the events of their ex-boyfriends, with Logan reappearing and Stefan leaving. however when another vampire started attacking in town, Stefan decided to stay a little longer and warned Elena about it. On Career Night, Stefan and Elena discussed Stefan never sticking to anything because he always had to leaving due to his immortal age. Elena didn't want to discuss her future because he wouldn't be in it. After finding out Logan Fell was the vampire, Stefan and Damon went after him. They rescued Caroline from him and Stefan took her home, leaving Damon to deal with Logan. At the Salvatore Boarding House, Elena told Stefan that she wanted him to stay, but he couldn't. Elena declared her love for him and they made love for the first time. Later, Stefan went for a drink of water and left Elena alone in his room. Their relationship hit a rocky patch when Elena came across his photo of Katherine and was shocked at how much she looked like her. Heartbroken and confused, Elena took off her necklace and left. Stefan came back and found Elena's necklace on Katherine's photo and realized what happened."

TVD is full of half/near nudity, double entendres/innuendos, and sex. Most of the main characters have either been close to or had sex at some point. Damon has been with multiple women. It is what it is - a teen/early 20s-centered drama which means sexuality will be at the forefront of the character's minds. Writing a show around characters of this age means writing to what is really happening in the minds of people of that age. Just because you have 30yo guys and 20yo women playing teenagers doesn't mean they can ever escape this fact.

Klaus definitely shows his humanity whenever he's with Caroline. The speech he gives on her birthday is so incredible that I had tears in my eyes. It spoke to the fans in that you could change it to 'a hundred more birthdays' and give it to any girl or woman who has ever been depressed or suicidal and it will work. Whenever he's with her, he tries so much harder to be a good man, but his mental health issues (over-driven ego, abandonment issues, etc) have gone on for 1,000 years so trying to change himself quickly for one woman's attention isn't going to be easy. When he's with his family he's like any other brother who picks on his siblings, throws punches with them a few times (daggering them is the vampire equivalent plus a little fight out of emotional hurt), but will always desperately need to feel loved and accepted by them. When they don't accept or love him for who he thinks he needs to be (the Big Bad Klaus) then his hurt and anger flares. So the kinder, gentler Klaus is in there, he just isn't ready to make it a bigger part of who he is. Unfortunately, the only way to have him not become a frienemy is to get him out of the picture, which means doing something like burying him alive so they don't kill themselves. Bekah is also desperate for acceptance and love (as Klaus has pointed out), which is why she keeps going back to the brother she fears - he's the only one who has protected her and loved her (albeit in a dysfunctional way) when she needed it most. BTW, rewatch video (it's on youtube) of Klaus catching Caroline running away from Evilaric, and right after he turns her watch his face closely. JoMo's expressions are almost as incredible as Damon's right before telling Bonnie that Elena and he kissed. When Caroline says "Thank you." for a split second his face shows pleasure then flashes the memory that Elena is about to be killed by Evilaric and his expression almost imperceptively shows overpowering anger and he takes off at vamp speed. I watched it about 10 times yesterday in awe of how the minute changes screamed the emotional changes. Joseph did a great job of showing how close to the surface Klaus' humanity really is.

The genious within Julie and the writers is that every time they put Elena and Damon together, it is with a 'but' or with an escape hatch. The first time they kissed, it was Katherine pretending to be Elena. When they kissed at the hotel after getting Jeremy in Denver, Jeremy chided her and made her rethink if that's really what she wanted. Now she's only 'in love' with him because he wants her to be and she's forced to through the sire bond. If they break the sire bond or she is cured of vampirism, she can try to go back to Stefan because 'it wasn't real'. Whether he takes her back or not is another issue. But the shippers will always need to fight in this triangle. It's become their right, because they have over 3 years of the battle! Just like in every tv show ever, once you appease one set of shippers and disappoint another set of shippers permanently you lose the audience. Give someone exactly what they want with the intention of 'happy ever after' and they lose interest. Take away all hope of someone getting what they want and they give up hope and lose interest. So for the writing room to continue to develop scenarios to pit brother against brother and shipper against shipper is going to keep people watching; keeping the other characters around to fill out the story and not make it all about a 3-some power struggle is also going to keep people watching. Who is watching for which part - or both - is what is up for grabs.

The Stefan-Katherine-Damon storyline is very different. Katherine compelled the boys, at least in some way (supposedly only Stefan was compelled and Damon just fell in love with her, but I'm not entirely convinced she didn't get his attention in some nefarious way, considering he gave up being the good soldier to be with her). She also is villainous, crafty, and is looking out for herself. Once she got what she wanted from the boys (protection and aid from the Founder's Council) she allowed them to believe she was dead or at least unavailable so she could go on her merry way without them holding her back. Elena is the opposite of her. Both brothers fell for her in a more organic way, she has a 'heart of gold' always putting others before herself (which causes them to put her first and allow themselves to be hurt), and she wants to have others happy instead of causing them enduring emotional pain. Also, there's the huge reasoning that the Katherine triangle happened off camera (we've seen flashbacks and short interactions) so we're not so emotionally attached to her character, whereas the Elena triangle is developing before our eyes and we're desperately attached to who she is and what her life entails. If Katherine is killed off permanently we might cheer; if Elena is killed off permanently we attack the writers. haha Plus the only things that have changed in Elena's triangle is that she's a vampire and she's sired - the triangle is still the same as Katherine's in that Stefan is/was always #1, Damon is/was always #2, and both women need the love of both brothers, in one way or another. In actuality, having her sired to Damon actually makes her triangle different from Katherine's in that it changes who is the #1 brother.

The show is based on Stefan - Elena- Damon triangle, so none of them will leave the show.
The rest of the group are the ones that will come and go.

In the First Season - I saw Damon as the Loner, outsider. He had an attraction to Elena, but then it was because of her resemblance to Catherine and he was in no frame of mind to actually care for anybody.

In Season 2 - He was becoming more human. He was actually getting feelings, but didn't really know what to do with real caring emotions, so he just shrugged it off, or purposely(even unintentionally) did something to mess it up. By the end of the season, he had true emotion for Elena...but the biggest problem still existed..Stefan ! Afterall, Elena is his brothers girlfriend and he needs to respect those boundaries.

In season 3- So now Elena is a Vampire, which make the threesome a permanent thing. Without Damon knowing it, Elena is making more moves towards him, because she did have feelings for him, but still Stefan was hers. With Elana's final move..that was it. Now he thinks she has made her choice and it was him.
The puzzling part is that Elena told Damon that she chose Stefan...this sudden change is confusing for me...when did the sire thing kick in? She should have been sired from the minute she was given the blood and therefore not be able to choose Stefan at all.The 2 of them watching the sunrise on the mountain top..sure held no signs of the siring...then next show all this nonsense.

They never intended for Damon to tell her to forget about him like that and have him leave. That would be the end of the show.
I don't want to see a conflict between the brothers. That separated them in the past, and it's not right to have them do it again over a girl...that's just repeating the Catherine scenario all over again.
Right now you have Damon on the line because he likes his brother's girlfriend...now suddenly she breaks up with him and goes with the other brother ( especially jut after telling Stefan she chooses him..now chooses Damon. So now you have Stefan on the outside, but he has had a relationship with her, now just to be asked to drop all feelings ( time to go back to the Ripper again or Klaus remove his emotions again.)
Did Stefan and Elena ever sleep together? I don't think so...I don't think that should have happened with Damon either..at least not just yet..and not under the circumstances of a siring.

As for Klaus and the rest, I would miss them. Like a kinder, gentler, Klaus to come out, but after staking his sister..I doubt it.

I would seem that Jeremy was destined to be a hunter..after all it was his family's job ..vampire hunters..so makes sense. Will he kill his sister? Will she lat him kill Stefan and Damon?
What if all this new magic the "teacher" wants Bonnie to learn will lead to the death of vampires..if she does do it, will she change to the dark side like the other witch warned? Will they have to kill her to keep Elena, Stefan and Damon alive? If Klaus dies, so do they all ?

In my opinion, if they break the bond, even temporarily between Stefan and Damon, the show is as good as over. They want us to accept now that Elena is willing to hurt Stefan and go with Damon..what if they find the "cure" then is she going to jump out of bed with Damon and back to Stefan? Are we supposed to just accept that?
I think this whole thing with Elena turning vampire was totally of the mark, never should have been done. No matter what they plan on doing..all you have is the repeat of Catherine leading both brothers on, making them think she loved each one..and that didn't go over too well thee first time, why would this time be any different. Been there, done that...come up with a new idea.
I'm really fighting to stay interested in it this season..so are a couple of friends who watch it. I think the writing is getting bad and the story lines ( you're right, too many of them) are taking away from what / who should be the focal point. Also, Elena with the bloody face was too far overdone.

I will take each day as it comes.

I keep falling behind in the episodes, which is what took me so long to respond. Last night I watched the episode from last week, "We'll Always Have Bourbon Street" which went into what you were talking about.

First, I want to say that even though it's annoying to keep making each 'evil enemy' become a friend after a half season or season (Damon, Katherine, Elijah, now Klaus and Bekah), I am enjoying seeing JoMo flexing his acting muscles to show some good/helpful/charming sides of Klaus. Seeing how hard he is working to charm Caroline is really drawing my attention. The story about the hummingbird and seeing them talking together at the Miss Mystic Pagent had me watching those parts several times, enjoying it. I love Caroline and Tyler together, but seeing a 2nd triangle and having more screen time for the rest of the characters is helping to round out the show for me.

I'm really torn about Elena being sired to Damon. Sure, in the first season I liked Stefan and Elena, but I'm not a big shipper and like to see the drama of changing things up; seeing Damon and Elena growing close has given me a lot of enjoyment. I think the show wouldn't be the same if there wasn't the continued triangle and the suspense of 'how will it go wrong this time?' I really, really don't want Damon to tell Elena to never think of him again then leave MF! I think he needs to try to do it another way, such as saying "I will be happy if you are no longer sired to me, and care more about your own happiness than mine." Or they should get Klaus or Bekah (who I'm ready to have undaggered!) to compel her to not be sired. This will give them some time of wondering "did it work?" and mull over what happened and let the triangle wind up, unravel, and strengthen again while they search for the cure. Then the writers can find another problem to throw into the mix to mess it all up again. I think if the triangle ever breaks completely the show will fall apart. Fans need to be passionate and willing to fight for what they think is 'right', so making a definite answer like sending Damon away will do serious harm to the dynamic and then they should just hand the show over to the Klaus-Caroline-Tyler triangle.

Of course, the Stefan-Elena-Damon triangle does rest upon the relationship between the brothers, and no they should not split like they have several times in their lives. They feed off of working together and then going behind each other's back. They need to drive each other up a wall, just like all siblings. They each need to feel like they one-upped the other, even when they're working together. It means they can't be apart for long periods of time as long as we're watching. Each can step out of the triangle for awhile, but there must be a string to pull them back. So always leaving the possibility of the triangle is key.

This week's episode is the last one before the holiday hiatus, so we will get far more cliffhangers than answers to drive ourselves crazy with for a few weeks.

Also, what are your thoughts on what's happening with Jeremy? I'm concerned with how they're going to deal with his hunter personality. How about the Shane and Hayley partnership? I'm curious what the plan is, considering the new development about having killed 12 humans gave a witch huge power, what will killing 12 hybrids do? What's Klaus got to do with it, and what will he do if it's a negative thing? Are we going to get the Big Bad Klaus back? How is Tyler going to be affected by this? Will Kol and Elijah be coming back any time soon to get in on all this? Any chance we can get more flashbacks with the originals, especially Mikael (I adore Sebastian!)? The writers on this show are awesome, so there are so many directions they could take the show in!

Well, they just confirmed what I thought..she is sired to Damon..that is why she is so drawn to him and wants him. His blood was used to save her..that's what did it.
I don't believe that Damon knows what is going on, why she is after him. What will he do when he does find out? Will he continue to be with her--since he really wants her, or will he break it off?
Will it be possible to break it off? With a sire bond she won't leave him.
Their only hope will be to have her return to human again to break it.
How will Stefan react once he knows they have been together, will he want her back then? Will this lead to a break with the brothers?
I don't want them split over this...it would ruin the whole show.

I will take each day as it comes.

Every show has ups and downs. Hopefully they'll get back to a more normal vibe as the season progresses.

I have no clue what's happening with Elena, but I look forward to finding out. I'm sure the writers have some crazy plotline figured out as to what's happening and how to fix it. And of course there's going to be some more Damon/Elena interaction. The show wouldn't be the same without the triangle always shifting. Just because she picked Stefan doesn't mean there won't still be tension with Damon - especially now that she knows she met him first and that he told her he loved him then wiped it from her memory to try to help her.

I just don't think the writing and the filming is as good this season. I fear if this keeps up....they may loose viewers and cancelled.

Why is she having such a hard time changing...it was rough for the others a few times, but then were fine. She should be past that stage by now.
She is acting more like Stefan and the Ripper...than a regular vampire.
Damon says she is going to help her..Oh My, I see trouble coming!

I will take each day as it comes.

I can't speak on the quick cuts as it hasn't really stuck out to me, but when new writers and directors are brought in each season it does change parts of the show. It's always been a pretty dark show - think back to Scary Mary's episode. The lighting plays the style of the show - it's more dark and moody and less bright and happy, even more so now that Elena had the choice forced on her.

Elena not being able to handle blood probably isn't a doppleganger thing (Katherine was too and she turned fine) but I'm assuming they'll explain more as time passes. Team Salvatore needs more time to figure it out. I do think showing the blood vomiting has become a little gratuitous, but I'm sure they're making a point of how difficult it is on her and how important figuring it out will be to this season.

Also, Meredith gave her Damon's blood not Stefans. Remember, she blood-jacked Damon? And they confirmed it later that it was his blood. As Damon keeps saying, the more you try to keep her away from human blood the worse it will be.

I am finding this season very confusing--only because I really on't like the back and forth quick cutting of the story lines. A few seconds here, a few there, then back to the first, then off to a new one, then back to the second...
Why not play out one piece for a while then start the next one?

I have an elderly lady friend who loved this show till now. But after the first 2 shows here..she doesn't care to watch it anymore. I spent an hour after each show just trying to explain it to her since she can't follow all this bouncing.I think she would have quit after the first one...but she loves Damon and wants to see him.

Also, the whole show now seems to be filmed in the dark..why?? They can all go out in the sun..use some of the free lighting available.

Also, all this throwing up blood by Elena, it is not necessary. Some people can't tolerate that. It don't bother me..but I think it actually takes away from the show. After the first or second time..we got it already, she can't tolerate the blood..no need for it to go on.

Wonder if it has to do with her being a doppleganger?

Got a question - she was given Stefan's blood by the doctor right, when she "died"?
Do you think that would make her another " Ripper"? Stefan goes crazy drinking human blood..she is having all these problems and cravings to drink and almost kill..could that be how it is going to affect her too?

I want the show to go back to the way it was..better filming, less jumbled and a little more sunlight..or invest in some lightbulbs!

I will take each day as it comes.

Season 3 DVD is out, or you can watch some of the episodes online. I keep all of the episodes in the season until I buy the season DVD. But definitely check out the website to watch the episodes online if you ever miss any!

And tip for you: your DVR is linked to your address. When you move you lose everything. If you get a new receiver (or if they move you and end up giving you a new receiver) everything is gone, obviously. But at least some DVRs (mine does) allow you to hook up an external hard drive and transfer items off the DVR onto there for safe keeping. I just replaced my DVR that had a bunch of bad spots and got a refurbished one that was also full of bad spots, and now I have a new one. Well luckily when I found I was replacing it the first time I bought the external hard drive and transferred everything off, then left most of it on there so I only had a little to transfer back when I replaced it the 2nd time less than 2 weeks later. So if you are ever going to move again, invest in an external hard drive for around $100 and spend a few hours transferring everything you want to save over to it. It's also a good time to go through everything you have saved and delete anything that you really don't need to keep.

I'm a little curious how they're going to go about this storyline of Elena's transition. She's throwing up all the blood she drinks, so what does that mean? And what's going to happen with the Mikaelson siblings now? I'm excited to see what happens, but a little aprehensive that they might take it in a ridiculous direction. Plus, when girls/women become vampires their hair gets curly, so that was how we could tell Elena and Katherine apart... Will Elena's hair get curly now and if so, how will we till the two apart if Katherine comes back?

I am sooo glad I clicked on here!!! When we moved, our DVR got all jacked up, and it didn't record the first episode and so I was a little lost this week...Mainly too because I really need to watch last season again!! It's been so long, I forgot about a lot of stuff!! :P

The second episode was pretty good though, I was wondering what twist they were going to bring into this season, and I am super curious about this new character (or characters). :)

Don't forget that you can always watch the video on the CW website (click our team picture and you'll go to the site) if you can't watch it when it airs. This is good if you want to watch it again and didn't record it, if you missed it for some reason (bad weather, busy, local programming issues, etc), or even if you don't have TV at all.

The video is supposed to be posted the next morning after it airs on TV. I'm not sure exactly what time it's posted, just 'next morning'.

So what did you think? I watch each episode several times because there are always things I miss the first time because I get overwhelmed by the shocks and awes.

It aired on time for me. It must have been a local programming change. I didn't watch it because I was watching other things, but I'm watching it now and at the first commercial break.

The opening recap is pretty cool. Within the first section (before the commercials) I already yelled at the tv and woke up my cat. haha

I just looked on my tv schedule now and the VP debates are knocking off the local programming and they have moved the Pittsburgh Steeler game to CW and TVD to 11:30 pm.
Maybe it is a local thing..but a Football game is nationally aired.

I will take each day as it comes.

It might be your local station's programming. Per the CW website www.cwtv.com/shows/the-vampire-diari
es
, it's still scheduled for this Thursday at 8pm EST, 7pm CST. I also checked my local CW website and it says the same.

You may have to check the starting date. I just seen on a notice on my comp. that TVD is NOT coming on at the ordinary time.
According to the list it is coming on Fri at 12:30 AM eastern. I hope it is only for that week.
I don't know what will be on in it's place to move it though.

I will take each day as it comes.
