I hate to say this--but I think they are really trying to get TVD cancelled !!!!

I didn't know if to finish watching it -- turn it off -- or throw a shoe through the TV.!!!
What the heck are they trying to do with this show???? It is becoming really stupid and very, very, very boring and repetitive!!!!!!

Katherine is dying, and she's dying, and she's so weak, No she won't transfer out, and she died OH Wait..she's not ready to die just yet, so she comes back..OK dying again, so , so , so weak..but then suddenly she jumps up in bed...grabs Elena's head and Poof..she's in her now and full of vigor!!!!
So now what..are both Elena and Katherine in the same body? or is Elena now in the dead body..but is the body dead? Does she have to destroy it so that Elena can't get back in it?
So after all that...we still have both Katherine and Elena yet..just now if she wants to go to bed with Stefan..it will be Elena's body...so that means trouble between Stefan and Damon again!!!! I am sick of that nonsense again!!!

Then you have the 2 second pop in of Rebekah and Elijah..why even bother...meant nothing to the story !

Now of all the fuss the fans were making of getting Caroline and Klaus back together that did that bit of nonsense! Was it believable...Heck NO!!!
You are telling me that Klaus made a trip in from the Bayou just to meet up with Caroline....because he was helping Matt?????..and say I want to know what you feel and if you say No ..I'll leave..so she jumps his bones..make love and he just walks off into the sunset??? Since when is that Klaus?????
They want the people to quit asking for them so, they "Let Us Have " this reunion so we can see them make out..then we'll have to shut our mouths because it's over. Like killing 2 birds with one stone.
So what the people really want is worth only a couple of seconds on the screen, with no real ending...and absolutely NO SENSE!!! Why did they even do this? Just let it go and be done, instead of making a mess of the whole thing !

Good thing it is so late at night that I'm writing this..because I took time to settle down..because I would really be ranting !!!

This show is really becoming ..there is no other word for it...sickening!!!!
I am really getting disgusted with it. It has been pure foolishness for the last 2 years..but this is worse. If this keeps up..I will stop watching! I will miss Damon and Stefan..but I'll just look at them on the comp in pictures.

To the producers, directors and writers for this show ---Get your act together or say good-bye to your paycheck. Earn the money you are being paid and get this show back to something worth watching again..or cancel it and put it out of it's misery.

I really hate when they run good shows into the ground, so that people will just quit watching and i brings about the end of it all.

I will take each day as it comes.
As my grandfather always told me.."Don't ever get old,it's a ..." I should have listened to him!!

I was talking canon in the show, not overall. Every show must create their own canon or get lost in the shuffle. Once something appears in the show, it's canon and should remain true throughout. Of course, things get forgotten over time (prime example is a few minute mistakes in canon in Supernatural which have been noticed by the most intense fans, which is why the writers actually use an incredibly detailed wiki made by the fans to attempt to stick to canon). Still, it's a pretty big deal to have major shifts in canon.

There's a BIG difference between the white oak stakes and the white oak ash used on the daggers. The original white oak tree that was used in the spell by the Original Witch (mommy) to give immortality: "She called on the Sun for life and the ancient White Oak Tree, one of Nature's eternal objects, for immortality." That tree was cut down when they realized it could be used to kill them, but the other villagers kept a sapling and replanted it for future generations to use. That was cut down by the Salvatore family's logging company and used to build the Wickery Bridge and the sign for the bridge. Rebekah burnt the bridge but the sign had been removed to be restored, which was made into the white oak stakes. The daggers are metal and must be dipped in the ash left behind from when they burnt the original tree (or probably from the burnt bridge or sign) to work. The ash is just enough to keep them emaciated and essentially dead, like a poison, but must remain in the body because if you remove the poisonous ash then they can heal themselves and come back to life (or un-dead-ness? haha). Also, the daggers can only be used by a human - or Klaus - because vampires who use it will die. Removing the dagger negates it's power, unless it's dipped back in the white oak ash. They did get it right that removing the dagger once and putting it back negates its power. But without explaining the white oak ash part, how would Klaus re-dagger them multiple times over the centuries?

See here: vampirediaries.wikia.com/wiki/White_
Oa
k_Tree

In TO, you don't see Klaus dipping it in the little vial of white oak ash like he we saw him do in TVD. That's just one example. How Elijah explains their history to Hayley by touching her head drove me nuts. But he didn't keep his hand on her the whole time, so perhaps it was just the way the scene was played and could be mistaken that he had to have his hand on her head to show her what's in his mind. There are a few other little things, but I can't remember right this moment.

The single drop of blood didn't fully bring him back, as far as I saw. It put some life into him, but he didn't seem full strength to me. He would need a lot more than that. But it was a way to show how controlled he is, for Davina to be able to trust him and for the new viewers to see a good representation of his intense morality.

Klaus was originally written as a one-off big bad, who they would kill and move on. Initially, Klaus and Elijah weren't going to be brothers, that was thought up and developed later on. Joseph and Elijah played the characters so well the writers decided to give the characters more time on the show to see how they could interplay with the main characters. It was also joked right from the start that it'd be great to give Klaus his own show. Once it was decided they were brothers, the family was created to give even more chances to play with the characters, then fans came to love the Original family also, which kept building the characters enough that it seemed awful to only be able to give them a small portion of screen time to develop who they were and what their stories could be. Fans complained about taking time away from the main characters we've known from the start, but also about not having enough time to get to know the Originals as well as we could. Most hated Finn, so it was easy to take him out. Kol was a necessary death to forward the story that would lead to separating the shows. But as they added this entire family and the weath of 1,000 years of their existence, there was no way to tell their story and the story that was started in TVD. Now that they've gotten their own show, of course the writers get to really flesh out the characters more. Klaus was a big bad who only needed to be one dimentional if he was going to be killed off within a few episodes. As they used him more we got to see more of him - his relationships with his family, his followers, and his victims. But we couldn't see who he really was because there wasn't the time. TO is his story of salvation, giving the chance to tear him wide open and dig around to find who he really is, why he became the big bad we originally saw him as, and what he's been hiding all this time with only glimmers of the damage and distortion hidden in his violence. Joseph has a way of connecting the character to the audience so that we're drawn to him. He has such powerful depth in how he portrays his characters that one wants to peel the surface and see what's underneath. We finally get to have the chance to pull at the strands and unravel his story, and the eye contact thing is a part of it. The power of the wolf inside him with the damage of what he endured 1,000 years ago, plus the constant fear of a wounded prey being hunted by a step-father who was absolutely determined to destroy him has caused him to lash out violently and prevent himself to ever put down roots that would be his downfall. Once he killed Mikael, he wanted to stop running and try to find his true place, but 1,000 years of torment is not something easily changed. Elijah knows what Mikael did to Klaus, even helped him do it. Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, and Finn are his step-siblings, and therefore a piece of his tormenter. It's hard to relate to them when he feels wounded and attacked, because even though they can get along while he's relaxed (like during the ball at their mansion in TVD) he probably has some serious PTSD from all that Mikael did to him. PTSD engulfs people, so that when they're in the throws of an attack they aren't themselves anymore. So Elijah has learned over all this time that when Klaus is feeling threatened he turns into the wounded wolf being tortured by his father in a moment of PTSD, so he must approach cautiously and show he's not a threat. That's what's so perfectly genious about it. It's subtle enough to not be overt, but obvious enough to show how they've grown into their roles over the centuries.

I'm wondering what's up with the church now. Someone doesn't necessarily need to own the house to protect it; if their family owns it and they live in it and are physically there it works. Elena was given the deed to the Salvatore mansion and lived in it to protect it. But in instances like the Forbes' house, the Lockwood mansion, and the Bennett house, their parent's owned the home (at least to start) but they lived there and were present to protect it. If no one was living in the house and weren't present they could enter, even if it was owned. So there's an odd algorithm at play as to what is protected and what is not. Yes the church *should* be sacred ground, but since a witch put a spell on Sean (Cami's twin) to kill everyone in the church (the priests and alter boys), I'd assume that took away from the sacredness of the property. Also, no one knows who owns it now, so it's not really a home. Davina was put there by Marcel to live, but since it seems no one really owns the place (it wasn't exactly well-maintained so I'd assume it's no longer holding services and is mostly used as a meeting place for the order), her living there should have given her room protection (just as they could walk through the halls of Alaric's apartment but not get into his apartment). Which takes me back to wondering why was Elijah able to be inside but Rebekah couldn't enter? The only 2 choices are: Elijah was invited and Rebekah was not, or Davina had put a spell on her room to make it so only those supernatural beings she allowed to enter could enter, which is essentially the same thing except for the rules are more fluid because canon has not been established. Marcel would be allowed since he put her there and she considers him family (although that's being altered by Elijah). But Josh (the newbie compelled by Klaus) is taken to Davina by Marcel who walks into her room carrying him without a problem, even though he surprised Davina. Yet when Rebekah tries to enter she hits the invisible wall. So now I wonder if it's a canon error.

I didn't get to watch the marathon because I was doing other things (I only caught a little of it). I need to rewatch the episodes again to remember some things, as my brain is fried (12 days after a concussion isn't a good time to try to remember all this stuff). The TVD wiki fills in some blanks, but I have the episodes on my dvr (for now; not sure what will happen in a few weeks) so I can rewatch a few parts quickly. The TVD wiki isn't anywhere close to as in depth as the Supernatural wiki, but anything is better than nothing.

As for the overall canon of vampires, I won't get into that. If every single instance of a similar character uses the same canon, it would get really old. Writers need to put their own flavor on their characters. Twilight is a young adult book. If the vampires were hideous creatures that had three-somes with their victims, it wouldn't work as a YA book. Writers have to write to their audience. Even the original writings of vampires doesn't mesh with the rumored origins of vampire lore. Vlad Dracul wasn't repelled by garlic or crosses. He was a conquorer and a human who probably had a medical condition (it's very rare but a handful of people must digest human blood to stay alive) and was a sociopath. Grave robbers would dig up graves to rob posessions and leave the bodies in open coffins, which lead to rumors of zombies and vampires. People with the plague were thought to be vampires. The origins of the genre aren't even clear enough to have a definitive canon established, as even the earliest mentions of vampires, drawn from legends, are significantly different; one includes a lesbian vampire. Centuries ago, writers wrote to the fears of their audience. Now writers must write to an audience that glorifies violence and desensitizes fears, but the sexualization of fear and violence is still fresh, so to tone down the violence and fear while turning up the sensuality and sexuality gives a new flavor to an old legend. Look at the old Grimm Brothers' tales that are now Disney-fied. The Hans Christian Andersen version of The Little Mermaid has her die at the end (it's been decades since I've seen it, but I remember that difference). Today's audience wants something totally different than in previous generations. Also, writing a single book, or even a series of several books, is FAR different than writing a TV series that goes on for 100+ episodes. The medium alone is vastly different. What's written in a book must include so much description and internal dialogue that can be portrayed in a few seconds on screen.

I prefer writers to take legendary creatures and give them new life, at least within some form. Sparkling vampires are ridiculous, but look at the popularity of The Walking Dead. Supernatural does an incredible job of this - every supernatural character they have is drawn from some legend or campfire story or nightmare, but given new life with new rules. It makes it feel new while pulling from stories we've heard all our lives. I still can't watch part of the Bloody Mary episode (which was s1ep5, 8 years ago) because it creeps me out so bad. Any writer who can take a legendary creature and give it new life with new characteristics that deeply touches the emotions (whether fear, love, lust, greed, etc) of the audience will do well. I had a great idea for such a character, and wish I could write it out.

There's a lot about the show that doesn't fit the history of vampires.
Just the fact that they are out in sunlight...something that has killed and burnt up every other vampire till Twilight, TVD and now TO.I know they have the excuse of the daylight ring or magic or the fact that they "glitter" in the sun !
All people ever had to do to keep themselves safe was to have garlic or a cross around their necks...and vampires would go running, even Dracula...doesn't seem to bother anyone now !

I was particularly watching for the eye contact on all the shows..Elijah does that on all of them. He will look Klaus in the eye if at a distance or if speaking kindly to him..but when he wants to make a point and gets tough he will either look down or look away, past him.
Don't know if the actor is doing it himself or was told to , but it is a very subtle and a very smart move.
Both Elijah and Klaus have that subtle facial reactions that help get the point across without a lot of drama or movement being needed.
Now that Klaus is showing more emotion, it is giving his character more depth...he wasn't really dimentional on TVD...except when around Caroline.

There are different daggers involved. The White Oak daggers that were used on TVD are made from the tree itself ( therefore wood) which would Kill them, not incapacitate them.Remember at one point they were destroyed and I think it was Damon who found a sign made from that wood ( something about a bridge) and they were using that. These are supposed to be magical daggers..as explained by Rebekah..which just is used to incapacitate. If they were to be dipped in the White Oak it would kill them.
What I found amazing was when Elijah first came to, all "dehydrated", he was able to control his blood thirst so easily and with just 1 drop of her blood, he was fully restored. Must be a lot of magic in her blood.

As for not having to run out..it could be because it is not her place, she is not the owner.
What really bothers me is that the vampires just walk in and out of the church like nothing.
It is really messed up because the church is consecrated ground and therefore should not b allowed to enter uninvited...just like they couldn't go into the cemetery part when they were going to see the witches and what's her name even said..this is consecrated ground so you have to be asked in.
Which leads back to the church and a vampire even being willing and able to go inside, let alone in front of a cross.Dracula must be turning over in his coffin to see what these vamps are able to do and he can't...even poor Barnabas was repulsed by the cross.

I will take each day as it comes.

Remember, Klaus is half werewolf. Wolves and many animals take direct eye contact as a challenge of their leadership, so it was genius that Daniel played it that way (or genius writing or directing or whoever cameup with it). It is a subtle hint of the animalistic nature of Klaus and werewolves.

There are a few deviations in canon between TVD & TO that still bother me. An example is the daggers themselves are not enough to semi-kill the Mikaelson's, the daggers need to be dipped in the white oak ash to work. But that's never mentioned in TO. Perhaps the writers are trying to simplify canon for new fans while TVD fans are used to the daggers so they're just assuming the white oak ash is being used. There's also having Elijah being able to move around in Davina's room after being daggered while Rebekah was not able to get in. That didn't work with canon. Even if they're undaggered but haven't gotten blood, they can't breathe and must run out of the house. That's canon from when Elijah was undaggered in the Salvatore cellar. She might have invited him in without it being on camera, but I think they forgot. It doesn't take a lot away, but it just annoys me a bit.

TO is back on Tuesday 1/14 and TVD is back on 1/23.

Today Sat. Jan 11 - TV station TVGN is carrying "The Originals" all day from the first season.
It's a Klaus and Elijah marathon..lol.

Did you notice that in the first show..where Klaus and Elijah are fighting in the yard..at the very end of it..when Elijah is standing so close to Klaus talking... he did not look Klaus in the eye..as much as to say he wasn't challenging him..till the end when he just gave him a quick glance.

I will take each day as it comes.

The Vampire Diaries Season 5, Episode 9 Promo Breakdown: 5 Things We Learn About "The Cell"

Vampires go to their coffins for the day, but they don't "sleep"...more like hibernate.Of course they don't even do that.

The Originals is getting good...the last 2 episodes were very touching.
Got kinda scared when they all ganged up on Klaus and chained him..thought he might really be in trouble...especially since "silver" chains are supposed to be bad for vamps and werewolves.
I am glad he told his family off about not trusting him...but then he sure hasn't given them any reason too.. Klaus needs to knock off the bad treatment of Elijah and Rebekah.

They sleep; it's canon. They don't have to, but when they're around humans they will sleep next to them (Stefan with Elena, Damon with Elena, etc). Also, I'm sure they get bored now and again so why not sleep for awhile? They can only drink, talk, sulk, and write in diaries so much in between all their scheming, plotting, manipulating, hunting, and having sex. haha

Forgot to add this question--- Since when do Vampire's sleep.. Their dead ! Why do the dead have to sleep?
I hate when they mess with the lore.

Vampire Diaries Exclusive: Klaus Returns to Mystic Falls — Is He Coming for Caroline?
Klaus Mikaelson is returning to Mystic Falls, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

The Originals' Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will cross over onto The Vampire Diaries for the first time since he exited the series in the Season 4 finale. As part of his goodbye — and in one of our favorite scenes of all time! — Klaus told Caroline (Candice Accola) that her boyfriend Tyler (Michael Trevino) was free to return to Mystic Falls. He then added, "He's your first love. I intend to be your last."

Well now that Tyler and Caroline have pretty much called it quits, has Klaus returned for another go at getting Caroline to give in to his love? Reps for CW and Warner Bros. TV had no comment.

Before the season began, Morgan said he was thrilled with the momentary ending between the two characters, but wasn't sure it was permanent. "[There was] a responsibility for the fans who were rooting for Klaus and Caroline to at least give them some sort of resolve," Morgan told us. "That's not saying it's the end of that because there's the potential of crossovers."

When we last talked to Accola, she wasn't overly confident about the two ever getting together. "Klaus is a bit of a bad word for Caroline," she said. "It's a little out of sight out of mind — but he's still there."

I will take each day as it comes.

FYI: Stefan was 17 when turned in 1864, so in the 1st season he was 162 (hence the episode titled 162 Candles). Damon was roughly 23 when he was turned, so in 1st season he was roughly 168. They've only aged about 2 years over 5 seasons, so Stefan is about 164 and Damon is about 170. Though I thought Ian recently said somewhere (interview or tweet?) that Damon was about 173. But, we were never given Damon's age in 1864 in the show (I think someone said his age was given in the books, but the show has altered plenty from the books) so it's all just a guess. Stefan is in his mid 160s and Damon in his early 170s.

Of course, TV isn't real life, so aging is forgiven. In soap operas they frequently age kids by 5-10 years quickly so they can put that kid into a new storyline. On a show like 24, each season was exactly 1 day, yet it ran for several season so everyone aged years instead of days. Ian and Paul look young enough to pretend to be teens while having the air of worldly vampires. There will always be some plot holes in a story. There is absolutely no way of making everything perfect. In Supernatural, for years they kept the storyline matching up with real time (ex: they'd look at a newspaper that had the date the show aired), but then after a few years they had to adjust the timeline to make certain aspects work better. For instance, having a cliffhanger moment at the end of a season that picked up where it left off 4/5 months later, or turning 4/5 months into a year. Anyone who expects TVD to last 20 years is crazy. I would assume they'll have a couple more years, but no way to know. Still, since we can't stop the actors from aging, so viewers have to accept that fact. If you go back and watch the first season all the way through fourth season within a few days or weeks, you can see the age progression in the actors, though watching it live it doesn't appear as if they age because we see it in a more real time (over 4 years, not over weeks). It's something the writers at every show has to deal with, even without a supernatural component. So many shows have guys in their 20s playing teenagers and girls in their teens playing 20 year olds. It might work at first, but the age difference does become apparent over time. But, if they have actors playing their real ages, then the audience doesn't believe that. Because we've come to believe that most teenage guys are already physically matured to look like men and most women in their 20s have to look extra young to be beautiful. Therefore, as viewers, we are to be drawn into the story enough to believe certain things: characters age along with the timeline in the show, the season you see is the season it actually is (cameras don't see rain well, winter can look like summer, summer can look like winter, and when they're wearing bikinis they could be freezing or wearing a parka in July), you're really in the house with the characters instead of seeing a set on a soundstage, that each different location the characters are visiting can't possibly be areas just a few feet apart but shot from a different angle to look like a whole different area/city/state/county, night is night and day is day and there's no way they could be filmed at an opposite time, people who are related actually are instead of being two characters with a few similar feactures, the blood/violence/death/supernatural we see is real not fake at all, etc etc etc. The whole idea of being involved in a show is allowing plenty of leeway and acceptance that what we're seeing is "real" and not just a heck of a lot of people fooling our minds with lots of trickery, falsity, camera work, and GCI (all of which are special effects). Acting is essentially lying and pretending in the first place.

The things I question aren't the assumed accepted things like age, timeline, location, etc, but the canon shifts. When writers go outside of canon it can be really annoying. In Supernatural, if the writers slip up on canon they're called out on it and after 8 years, they've learned to apologize and be more careful. Hence why they now use some very exceptional fandom resource websites to research canon whenever possible to get it right. In TVD, there are some instances where they stretch or mold canon to suit current needs. That can be bothersome. I catch errors in filming (such as refilming some scenes with creative editing) and ADR (especially if it's obvious) plenty often, but while it can annoy me when it's obvious, it is what it is.

That's my opinion.

Sounds like this Season should be good. But more bad guys don't sound good to me..there is enough problems now.
Glad they are not going to drag out the Silas double thing...that is old news already..been there , done that.

I think they are going to have Tyler with a new girlfriend..another wolf.

I was thinking the same thing as a couple of people there.in the comments.
They are Vampires, therefore they cannot age..(including Bonnie). Since they just graduated High School, that means they have to stay 18.
OK. How are you supposed to explain to the other girls in college that these 2 still look like they are in High School, when the rest of the student population is maturing?

How do you explain that they are supposed to be 18 and their bodies in real life are getting older and changing? Lots of make-up.!!!! Maybe a little surgery?
Same is going to hold true for the Originals

Damon is what 33?..Stefan 31.. Elena 24...
Their bodies aren't going to look young much longer.
Stefan and Damon..we don't have a real age for them do we?
When they were turned...how old were they?

I know I question everything..just my way..I don't like it when things don't come together.

I will take each day as it comes.

I feel bad for what you and your friend have been through, believe me I am not a psycho fan of any star.
Not to make a joke of the situation...but an example...when I was younger (and maybe still now) I would of LOVED to meet Mr. Spock (from the original Star Trek)...notice I said Spock...not Leonard Nimoy. I loved the character....but as far as the real person was concerned...I couldn't care less...so no chance of me stalking him.
The only one who might have been a problem was Elvis...but never had any stalking or screaming, or scarf grabbing intentions, even then.

Yes, a character they play...and who they may be in real life..are totally different. I really don't care who they date..because in Hollywood...married one day, divorced the next..so nothing lasts .Maybe if they didn't have to deal with publicity and groupies and ladies throwing themselves at them...or women sleeping around with their producers, etc..to get a part..maybe marriages would stand a chance.

What don't understand is if Nina had a choice...why choose Derek over Ian...in looks alone there is no match and in "'ego"...I don't know much about Ian other than what I read...but from what I can actually "see" about Derek... if his head got any bigger, he'd explode.
Of course that is my opinion, others do disagree strenuously...but will never change my mind !

Don't think I would make a good Hollywood girlfriend, let alone wife. Publicity sake or not, if he were mine..he was mine in public...just like any other person.. If he chooses to play a part in public where I don't exist to further his career, then he is NOT for me..cause he chooses it over me and I am worth more than that.
A lot of people again won't agree..but that is who and what I am about.

I will take each day as it comes.
As my grandfather always told me.."Don't ever get old,it's a ..." I should have listened to him!!

TBH, it's none of our business. If they're happy then I'm excited for them. If they're friends then that's awesome. If Ian and Nina were never really dating and it was all a PR stunt so now that she's thinking about dating someone they had to "break up" so it wouldn't come out that she was pseudo-"cheating" on Ian, then I am absolutely okay with that too. Fans honestly know little about their lives (not saying I do, but I've been the hidden girlfriend and quiet friend hiding from fans so I don't get threatened and attacked so I understand it). Everyone deserves a chance to find their happiness and be allowed to move on when they realize they're not getting what they need from a relationship - love or friendship - to try to find what they are looking for with someone else. It is the way of life and the way of the world.

For anyone who has never had to be in a hidden relationship or had to fake a relationship for PR, you can't understand the stress involved with it. It is hard and painful just as often as it is good. This is why rag mags are so pathetic! They make up stories and they blow things way out of proportion. Any normal person is allowed to make mistakes and live their lives but once someone has some fans and is putting their talent to good use then suddenly they owe everyone something and have their lives under a magnifying glass - as well as the lives of their family, friends, and significant other. Then the family gets sick of the stress and pressure and the friends and significant other have to put up with death threats and actual physical violence (a gal who was my best friend and dating the brother of the guy I was dating was nearly seriously hurt by the boys' fans, and had her jacket ripped of her body and torn to pieces).

We don't really know Ian, Nina, or Derek. We only know their public personas and their characters. None of us have ever been behind closed doors with them in an intimate setting where they're allowed to be who they truly are, so we don't actually know anything. So to pass ANY judgement about them based on limited knowledge and PR imaging is as ridiculous as calling someone a doctor because they took a high school anatomy class. It is just wrong.

I know what it's like to be on the other side. I've seen what it can do to people who have to hide who they are any time they step foot outside their house. I know the pain of finding out "friends" were selling you out. I've cried with and comforted a person after they've been subjected to the abuse and torment of rabid fans. I've had to have my identity hidden so no one could find out who I was and do the same to me. I know the heartbreak when people are tearing you apart online just because of who you know and who you're dating. I've watched the guy I was dating have women draped over him like cheap curtains as they BEG and BRIBE him to screw them senseless ONLY so they can use him like a badge of honor and couldn't be involved, only steer clear and wait for him to pull their fingernails out of his arm and come join me.

Yes I know this seems like a way over-dramatic response, but this is one of my major pet-peeves. I even ended a friendship with a girl who I found out believed it was inevitable for psycho fans to attack, threaten, or even murder celebrities and their families, friends, and loved ones because the celebrity asked for it by having fans in the first place.

Vampire Diaries Premiere: A Delena Romp, Matt's Sexy Summer, Silas' Agenda and 8 More Teasers

I hope this season is different from the last one..was kinda disappointed in some of it.

I don't know if I'm going to enjoy all this doppleganger stuff. Elena/ Katherine thing was a novelty in the beginning..but then became kinda of repetitive being on all the time. Now they are going to do it with Stefan/Silas.
Damon said it best " If I hear doppleganger one more time, I'll have to lean to spell it."

They spend time to put Bonnie and Jeremy together, then they have Jeremy die and Bonnie here, now they have Jeremy back here and Bonnie gone..so why put them together in the first place.
Promo says that they don't know Bonnie is dead? Why? If she's no where to be found, wouldn't they be suspicious? If she is there, they are Vampires, they should know., especially Jeremy should know since he was able to see spirits before.

As for Ian/Nina being together, people want them together so much on the show, they want it to carry over in real life too. It's just a fan thing.
Same with Twilight pair-- people went nuts over their break-up.

I know there was movie I seen the other day about a fireman who was injured and he recuperates in her place and they become "Friends"...but no sex stuff, yet.
Now the funny thing was..they are on the same Soap for years and on there they play Bro/Sis Twins...and to top it off , he's a priest. Now when you get use to seeing them that way..and then go and play a "romance story", it is a little weird.

It is Hollywood afterall and relationships don't seem to last too long out there, so it should be expected.

Waiting for The Originals to come on. Hope it is good. I also hope they don't change Klaus character too much. like that touch of kindness in him ( even if it's just for Caroline). If he becomes totally evil, it would not be as interesting. I also hope they have him meeting up with Caroline every once in a while..I hate to see that all just dropped.

I will take each day as it comes.

I'm not sure how I feel about Matt Davis being on CSI. I love him on my tv, but can I handle him in a role on a procedural?

FYI: There's serious whispers that Ian and Nina were never dating and it was for PR. So all the people freaking out about them being nice to each other is annoying to me. If people stood back and looked at their relationship as a close friendship instead of something more it would be so much simpler.

Less than a month until 10/3! The photos I've been seeing from The Originals' set have me so excited. www.zap2it.com/news/pictures/zap-the

The CW has adjusted the premiere dates for some favorite shows. They're most likely doing this in hopes of ensuring the TVD audience following to The Originals. Here's the new breakdown:

Vampire Diaries is now premiering on Thu 10/3 at 8 pm EST
The Originals is now premiering on Thu 10/3 at 9 pm EST

The Originals 2nd episode will air on Tue 10/8 at 8 pm EST
Supernatural is now premiering on Tue 10/8 at 9 pm EST

The Originals will run an encore of the 2nd episode on Thu 10/10 at 9 pm EST after the 2nd episode of Vampire Diaries. Reign will premiere in the Thu 9 pm EST timeslot on 10/17.

All information courtesy of a CW press release that can be read here: blog.cwtv.com/2013/07/29/the-cw-revi
se
d-fall-2013-premiere-dates/

It's also been rumored that the new TO pilot will mirror the episodes in the backdoor pilot but showing events through Elijah's eyes. I know Julie was stressed with trying to figure out how to put together the new pilot to introduce people to the series if they've never before watched TVD, so if this is true I'm thinking this is probably a good way to not bore those of us who saw the backdoor pilot but starting over at a place where new people will be introduced to the characters we've come to love.

Also, if you have not yet seen it, check out the CW website for the full TO pilot that was shown to execs, which includes 10 minutes of footage that had to be removed so they could air the TVD parts. Danielle Campell's introduction was completely removed in the episode that aired, but in the director's cut you can see the power her character will be bringing into the fray. Check out the video here: www.cwtv.com/cw-video/the-originals

TVD season 5 premeire date has been announced! Tune in October 10th!
blog.cwtv.com/2013/06/24/the-cw-netw
or
k-announces-fall-2013-premiere-dates/

The Originals premieres on October 15th!

In the meantime, if you haven't heard, the writers have already been working on both shows and filming will be starting in early to mid July. Ian has been filming The Anomaly in London. Joseph has been filming Dermaphoria in New Orleans (Persia is with him). Nina's been on vacation with friends to a bunch of locations. Paul, Torrey, Nate, Matt, Sebastian, Steven, and a few others have been doing cons around the world. Candice has been doing some Midori parties. Kat has been working on her music. Some people have been kinda quiet during the break, but they'll all be heading back to Atlanta soon to get back to work!

Also, the Mystic Grill (which up until recently was actually a lawyer's office) is finally about to start its transformation! Construction is set to begin July 5th! No word yet on when it will open for business, but hopefully by fall they'll be ready for visitors. Considering the next TVD/TO convention in Atlanta is happening 10/31-11/3, with some events happening in Covington, if it's open I'm sure they'll be full up for business!

Yeah, some of the fandom went a little stupid after the announcement, and the sane fans yelled at them to stop.

Perez Hilton epic failed on his post! Joseph was holding hands with Persia White at the upfronts and photographs of them spending a lot of time together have been going around twitter since then. The unconfirmed rumor (considering Joseph wants to keep a lot of things private I doubt it'll be confirmed any time soon) is that Joseph and Persia have been dating for over a year.

Then there's the rumors that Ian and Nina were never really dating, it was all for PR. Apparently one of them was photographed in a position that could damage ratings and fandoms, so the PR people have set up a lot of time for them to be together. They're clearly friends, probably close friends, but they were made to be seen as dating to bolster the fandom. So Ian and Nina are probably not as devastated as they're being made out to be, and both are doing their own thing as they normally would.

So yeah, just wanted to share that bit of information.

Post Mortem: Vampire Diaries Boss on Silas' Agenda, Tyler's Future and 'Delena' Challenges

Warning: The following article contains major spoilers from Thursday’s season finale of The Vampire Diaries. Proceed at your own risk!
Thursday’s season finale of Vampire Diaries delivered several juicy twists — Stefan is Silas’ doppelganger! Katherine’s human! Jer’s alive, but Bonnie’s still a ghost! — and left us with even more burning questions. Is the newly mortal Kat about to get killed? Will no one notice something’s off with Stefan? And is Tyler finally going to come home?
TVLine went to executive producer Julie Plec to get answers on that and so much more.

TVLINE | What’s Silas’ agenda as Stefan? Is he going to be sticking around town for some purpose?
I can’t say whether he’ll be sticking around town, although I can say that he’ll definitely be coming back to town when we get back into the next season. His agenda has always been to cure himself, to get rid of the other side so that he could then die and pass over and find peace. That will remain his agenda. The question is: How will he go about it? Everything he meant to do this year blew up in his face.
TVLINE | Can he really fool everyone into thinking he’s Stefan?
He’s going to give it a good college try. He is, after all, psychic, as well. So he can get inside people’s heads and make them think whatever he wants. It’s not like we’re going to play an entire season of The Parent Trap. [Laughs] But there will be some funny times right at the beginning of the season.
TVLINE | Now that Katherine is a human – and given that she’s pissed off her fair share of people in Mystic Falls – what’s to stop everyone from killing her?
Absolutely nothing is going to stop everyone from trying to kill her. That’s what puts her in a pickle that is going to have her seeking out protection from unlikely sources.

TVLINE | With Stefan gone, Damon with Elena, and Klaus and Elijah on The Originals, who is left to care about what becomes of her?
[Laughs] That’s the realization she comes to over her summer break. “Oh, boy, did I screw up, and now my chickens are coming home to roost.” She’s definitely going to find herself on the wrong end of a lot of vendettas.
TVLINE | So Nina [Dobrev] will be playing two characters again for a pretty significant portion of the next season?
Yeah. We’ll definitely see a great storyline with Katherine as a human, and a great, fun one with Damon and Elena trying to make their relationship work as she heads off to college and starts her new life.
TVLINE | Speaking of, why Damon? What were you hoping to get to explore in Elena choosing Damon?
Damon’s a character who’s been driven by feeling like he’s not worthy of love. Now that he’s on the receiving end of that love, what will that mean for him? And where will he have to make changes in him, in his behavior? Or will he still be, “I am who I am. You love me for who I am. I’m not going to change for you”? It’ll be a fun dynamic to see him either trying to exercise restraint or not being able to exercise restraint in the name of love of this girl, especially as he’s got a new houseguest. He’s [living] with Jeremy Gilbert as Elena goes off to college.
TVLINE | It seemed like Caroline and Tyler are poised for a reunion. Will Michael Trevino be back next season as a regular?
Michael Trevino is still under contract. When he’ll return, we can’t say yet. He is going to have the opportunity to return to Caroline’s life in Mystic Falls. The question is, will he want to take it, given everything he’s been through since he’s been gone, which will be fun for us to learn — like what kind of life he’s been leading on the run.

TVLINE | That last scene between Caroline and Klaus was so loaded with emotion and potential. Is there any chance at all of having Caroline move to The Originals? Or was that the capper on ‘Klaroline’ for now?
It’s not the capper, per se. We’ll have to be more judicious with the moments between them. We’ll see. Klaus has a long journey ahead of him. He’s got a very, very, very long road toward being a redeemed character. He hasn’t exactly been a peach. Even when he does nice things for Caroline, they don’t necessarily offset all the nasty things he’s done to her and all her friends. So as Caroline grows up and goes to college and experience a new phase of her life, we’ll see if she is still drawn to him and if he’s making the kind of changes that make her want to have him in her life at all.
TVLINE | Bonnie is still a series regular, so how does she fit into the scope of the show with only one person being able to see her?
She fits very much into the scope of the show as she tries to deal with the fact that what she thought maybe wouldn’t be so difficult actually is. The absence of physical touch and physical connection with the boy that she likes, just that alone makes her feel really distant. We’ll get to see her more in her own life a little bit as she tries to figure out ways to keep her secret — [and] also stay on top of her friends and what they’re doing and if they’re safe.
TVLINE | I’m surprised you didn’t find a way to keep Alaric (Matt Davis) around.
[Laughs] Put it this way, I was all on board with that pitch. I think it felt like if we kept everybody that we loved, we’d have an entire, new, double ensemble of series regulars.
TVLINE | Now that Katherine’s human, can Klaus use her to make more hybrids? Is that something he might be concerned about on The Originals?
Given his experience with his hybrids, he might be a little gun-shy about creating another army that could potentially be used against him.

he Vampire Diaries' Julie Plec: The Triangle Is Right Back to Where It Started
"Get the girl," Alaric told Damon at the end of last week's Vampire Diaries. But will he?
By the end of that episode, Elena (Nina Dobrev) had her emotions back, but was mainly consumed with defeating Katherine, and reuniting and ultimately saying goodbye to her brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). Echoing the Season 3 finale with the big question of who — if anyone —will Elena choose, the Season 4 ender will leave viewers with a clear notion, again, of where she stands.
The Vampire Diaries: Is Elena really herself again?
"Definitely at the end of the season we're right back to where we started, which is what does Elena really feel and who does she feel it for?" executive producer Julie Plec says in this week's Vampire Diaries Bite. "One of those three [will also make] very clear steps to move on and start a new life and then the complications that come out of that will be a big part of Season 5."
With the Salvatore Brothers uniting for the sake of Elena's struggles this season, will they once again diverge when Elena makes her feelings known? Plec says that the recovery will come in baby steps.
"I've always said that, for me, the true love story of the show is the love between those brothers," Plec says. "Every time they come together, something tears them apart and usually it's their own actions. Inevitably, there's the love for the same girl and history repeating itself that drives a wedge between them all the time, but it's baby steps. This season there were a lot of hiccups and ... with luck, the brothers will be able to survive them."

Looking back on the season, Plec shares that taking Elena from human to newbie vampire to emotionless bitch, and back to feeling again was the most satisfying story to tell.
"The most fun we had this season was being able to take Elena on the worst roller coaster ride of her life," she says. "We took her to dark places, angry places, bitchy places and as writers, and for [Nina] too, it was such a fun year to be able to explore all the different sides of Elena from deep, deep grief to just being a nasty person. Then, we had the fun of putting that nasty person against nasty Katherine, and there is still so much fun to be had there before the season is out."

The Vampire Diaries Bite: Who's Returning from the Dead? Candice Accola Spills

"Greetings from the dead," Kol says in Thursday's episode of The Vampire Diaries.

Yup, get ready to see a few of your favorite — and not-so favorite — fallen victims return in the season's penultimate episode.

"We're going to learn more behind the mythology of lifting the veil and why specific characters ... have returned and why some have not," Candice Accola tells us in this week's Vampire Diaries Bite. "So it's not that every character that's ever been killed off the show is just going to magically appear in one wide shot, but there will be a lot of familiar faces and a story behind each one."

As the season winds down, viewers and characters alike are wondering what lies ahead post-high school graduation. For Accola, though, she's not worried about what the future will bring.

"It's not shocking for characters to end up in a different city ... and you see them outside of their school environment a lot," Accola says. "So I don't feel like you're going to miss seeing the gang in chemistry class because we've already stepped away from that. There's actually going to be some really beautiful new self-discovery moments for all the characters and that's going to bring the humanity into the series."

Adds executive producer Julie Plec: "On one hand [we have] the opportunity to open up the world outside Mystic Falls and to bring in new fresh faces in a new environment. On the other hand, if you bifurcate your characters too much, you lose the power of the ensemble. So we'll strike the right balance where we have a strong Mystic Falls story line and we get to play in the college universe as well."

Vampire Diaries' Candice Accola: The Final Episodes Will Leave "Klaroline" Fans Satisfied
For Vampire Diaries fans who love Klaus and Caroline together, Candice Accola says you'll be very satisfied by the season's remaining episodes.

"Obviously Klaus [Joseph Morgan] has his hands full in New Orleans ... but there are going to be some great moments in the final three episodes that will leave the fans satisfied, but still wanting more from the two of them," Accola tells us in the video below. "Klaroline fans ... will be intrigued by this week's episode — they're going to have some moments."

While Caroline is focused on the upcoming graduation, on Thursday's episode (8/7c, CW) she and the rest of the group will try their very hardest to get Elena's humanity back. So when — or if — Elena's emotions return, will she be able to forgive her former bestie who's been short of awful to her recently?

"What I love about Caroline is that her perspective has grown tenfold as the series has gone on. So, I don't think she's going to hold Elena fully accountable for all those moments when she hasn't been the kindest ... but it will be addressed that Caroline is aware [Elena] hasn't been a very nice friend."

I will take each day as it comes.
As my grandfather always told me.."Don't ever get old,it's a ..." I should have listened to him!!

Unfortunately, I've heard whispers that they were never dating to begin with. I've heard that they're just great, supportive friends and the story of them dating was for publicity - with their full consent and cooperation. Those wispers included compelling information - at least for me. But for the fans who ship Nian, twitter has become and explosion of their reactions, including spamming the heck out of Ian and Nina for hours. I have a feeling some people have way too much free time on their hands and/or have lost sight of their priorities. So yeah, I'm going to go do something else now.

'TVD' Boss Talks Sires, Spin-Offs & Graduation
The past has always haunted the present on The Vampire Diaries, but in Thursday's penultimate episode, the emotional ghosts will take corporeal form as Bonnie's plan to drop the veil between realms draws ire from both sides of this reality.
But how did the writers decide who should return to Mystic Falls? That was just one of the questions I posed to TVD's never-busier executive producer Julie Plec, who will be juggling (at least) two shows next fall now that TVD is coming back and The Originals has been picked up!
ETonline: First of all, congrats on getting your first official spin-off picked up! Have you started stockpiling Red Bull in anticipation?
Julie Plec: Thank you. Apparently Diet Coke reached out to our props guy and said, "Based on Julie's Twitter feed, it appears she's a fan of our product, so let us know if we can give her anything." That's the greatest thing that's ever happened to me in my entire professional life. So, I'm ready. [laughs]
ETonline: Now that you have some distance, what's your opinion of season four?
Plec: That's the million dollar question. I'll be honest, as you know, I get a lot of grief through the social media universe. Big and bold opinions, so it can be hard to sift through those to get a sense of what's working and what's not, but if I separate myself completely from that universe and look at this season, I'm really happy with it. We knew that everything we were doing felt really fresh -- Elena with an entirely new life as a vampire, we had almost a reboot to the love triangle, we had a really rich and interesting storyline for Bonnie, we had strange villains we hadn't pursued before that let us slow-play the mythology over the season and we had great things happening that built up to graduation. I feel really proud of this season.
ETonline: Arguably the success of this year depended on having an actor who could bring the excellent writing to life. And honestly, if The CW was ever going to break into the Emmy race, Nina Dobrev is the one to do it.
Plec: Right? It was definitely scary because we knew the entire season hinged on Nina's ability to dig into some deep places she hadn't had to dig before. Had she not spent the last three years successfully playing 960 characters, we would have been a little more worried [laughs]. For me, there was a moment in the season premiere where the director called me to say the entire crew burst into applause after he shot it.
ETonline: Which scene?
Plec: It was the scene where she's trying to get the blood on the floor while locked in the cell. And when she finally tastes it, a single perfect tear rolls down the side of her face. He said it was so spectacular and harrowing and exciting when they shot it, that the crew just burst into spontaneous applause. That started the year off so well. Then, I got a call after the read-through of episode 15, Stand By Me, which is a personal favorite of mine because it was so important. Apparently the performance she brought to the read through was so astonishingly good, everyone knew we were doing something special.
ETonline: Clearly season four was all about Elena's journey, so what are you excited for fans to see in the final two episodes with her character?
Plec: She goes through everything in the next two weeks. She gets beaten down and broken and built back up and ripped apart and we get to see her kick some ass and see her smile -- and then it's still not over. More crazy sh*t hits the fan in the form of a pretty spectacular showdown between Katharine and Elena.
ETonline: The next two episodes see ghosts return to Mystic Falls. How much of a conversation was there about which characters should return?
Plec: If you look at the season as a whole, you'll realize every person we see again fits into the body. Knowing at the beginning of the year where we wanted to end, and how we wanted to end it, we made the season a lot about loss and feeling disconnected from the ones you love. Kol is in the previews, so we can talk about him -- he's an enemy who is very pissed that Elena had a hand in his death. He's coming back with an ax to grind. There's also, let's not forget, a lot of people who died over the year in the name of resurrecting Silas. As promised, that is going to have some ugly consequences.
ETonline: Given the number of people who died, what kind of conversations did the writers have about how big the Mystic Falls graduating class could and should be?
Plec: [laughs] We had so many conversations about how big the graduating class of Mystic Falls should be! I mean, it's a small town, there were probably only 40 seniors and we've killed 20 of them! But it's not just the citizens of Mystic Falls who go to the high school, small towns like that often have multiple towns feeding into the school, which I didn't know. In the end, we settled on a number that made the football field we filmed on look really cool.
ETonline: With The Originals, many fans are wondering how you bring Matt & Rebekah and Klaus & Caroline's stories to a close. What can you say?
Plec: They are very, very simple and, I think, satisfying. I'm sure there are lots of people who would like to see more, but it's satisfying and very enjoyable. The thing is, I watched Buffy and Angel. I used to love on Angel when we'd get visits from friends from the other show. Plus, Angel didn't stop loving Buffy just because he was on a new show. It took him a long-ass time to get over her, so this is by no means the end of Klaus' feelings for Caroline. If anything, it's a new beginning.
ETonline: How judicious will you be with the frequency of crossover episodes?
Plec: The logistics of that are so complicated that it's all about the complications of trying to pull it off. I think it'll be a treat that we can give the audience every now and then. We haven't broken the season of The Originals yet, but I would love to be able to move pieces back and forth.
ETonline: Lastly, you're coming off the show's biggest season ending cliffhanger so far. How does this year's stack up?
Plec: I think that we deliver pretty damn well, truth be told. It's a double whammy cliffhanger, and this is, from an emotional point of view, one of my favorite finales we've done. Bold and potentially devastating.

Daniel Gillies Opens The Doors To His 'Kingdom'
By JARETT WIESELMAN April 24, 2013
This is the biggest week, professionally speaking, in Daniel Gillies life. Not only will The Vampire Diaries air his Originals-focused backdoor pilot on Thursday, but he's currently filming the second season of his medical drama, Saving Hope, and it was just announced Broken Kingdom, his directorial debut, would premiere this May on Showtime!
Not only did Gillies helm the globe-hopping, emotionally-resonant drama, but he wrote, produced and co-stars along with wife, Rachael Leigh Cook. A massive undertaking that underscores what a passion project this was for the actor.
Although Gillies used a different adjective to describe the endeavor when he rang up ETonline to talk Broken Kingdom, life lessons from behind the lens and The Originals!
ETonline: This is a big week for you, Daniel. Congrats on Showtime acquiring the film!
Daniel Gillies: Oh man, I'm very blessed. I can't believe all of this is happening at once -- I feel like every day is my birthday. These are lovely complications to have. It's been a bit of a process getting the release in order, and getting all the paperwork together, so I've been sitting on this for a long time. I'm relieved we can share the films with our friends, our supporters and the world.
ETonline: Why was this such a passion project for you?
Gillies: This was five years of my life. I essentially quit acting for three years to make this. It might be more accurate to call it an "Insanity Project" than a "Passion Project" [laughs]. I'm not sure if I had to do it again that I would find the courage. Walking into that blindly with a degree of naivety I had at the time was a helpful weapon.

ETonline: What was the spark of creativity that led to this getting made?
Gillies: It was the precipitation of a premature midlife crisis, to be honest with you. It's so funny talking about this as a 37-year-old, because at 31 -- which doesn't feel like yesterday, it feels like earlier this morning -- I had this premonition that my 30's would fly by. Suspecting that, I decided to try and do this before my 35th birthday. It ended up being the most dangerous three year period because no agent or manager will tell you that's an advantageous time to step back. To the credit of my manager, he absolutely stood by me knowing it was something I was passionate about.
ETonline: You certainly didn't make it any easier on yourself by choosing a very global story to tell. Did you ever consider doing a movie set in one room for your directorial debut, or was the mentality "Go big or go home?"
Gillies: You've nailed it. You've encapsulated my whole sentiment -- if I was going to do this, I needed to create something anthemic and symphonic. We made this for very little money, so to do what we did on such a small scale was creative masochism. But I did have that notion that I wanted it to be as unique as possible and if I was going to take this kind of risk, I wanted it to be big.

ETonline: You also took a risk in casting your wife because you had to work with her in two capacities: as a co-star and a director. Which made you more nervous?
Gillies: Both of those things were entirely unnerving. I don't recommend it. It was very difficult on our marriage and our relationship. Luckily she's incredibly skilled and talented. Her performance in this movie is staggering. I do think it's the best thing she’s ever done, so we couldn't be luckier to have her in the movie. But, more importantly, I couldn't have been luckier to have someone so understanding and compassionate and supportive. I didn't deserve that kind of love and support because, at the time, I was a lot less patient, compassionate and understanding. One of the great benefits of having undergone this is it's given me a lot more empathy and a distance from being impulsive and incendiary. In a weird way, having the sh*t beaten out of me consistently for the last five years has not only made a man out of me but it's made me a better artist.
ETonline: What is it you'd like people to take away from Broken Kingdom?
Gillies: Several things. Specifically that my wife and the cast are phenomenal actors. Second of all, I wanted the piece within itself to be its own testimony to devoting yourself to an idea and carrying it through. I shot this in 2009 and it was years of getting that money ready, and putting it together. Because of how arduous and defiantly challenging it was at all times, I want it be a story of commitment to an idea that’s higher than yourself. That's why Kingdom Come, the documentary that precedes the film on the air is almost as important to me as the movie.

ETonline: What was it like watching the documentary for the first time?
Gillies: I had tremendous difficulty watching Kingdom Come. I was cringing at myself and my meltdown through this process. But I have to tell you, I don't like it but I know and recognize that it's an important document to any aspiring artist out there that sometimes the road is difficult. It won't always be as rocky or violent as mine, but if you're going to reach that far beyond your grasp, it's OK to be knocked around in the process.
ETonline: Your Vampire Diaries co-star Joseph Morgan recently directed a short film. Did you share war stories in between filming?
Gillies: Yes, we did. Joseph approached me and asked to take a look at my film. He and Paul Wesley were both very curious, and supportive, of me and the film. I went to Joseph's apartment and showed him an earlier cut of the film, and then we watched his -- it was sort of this masturbatory double feature, which was really awesome and a great night in the history of our friendship.

ETonline: Have you seen the final cut of The Originals?
Gillies: I have seen most of it through ADR and I don't mean to sound irreverent to any of the shows that have taken place before, but I've never been so excited about an episode of The Vampire Diaries. It's such an exciting evening of TV -- Julie Plec has done something really splendid here. I mean, damn it, we should be building monuments to her across North America. What she's done here is sublime. It's such a good episode of television, and furthermore, I was deeply proud of the relationship between Klaus and Elijah. Like most actors, I sort of despise everything I've ever done, but the moment I started watching his, I was gobsmacked. This thing takes you on an adventure through New Orleans and it's a totally different energy from The Vampire Diaries. There's this quality that Joseph and I wanted to achieve which is that of ancient resonance, and I feel like the pillars of the show -- myself, Charles Michael Davis, Joseph Morgan, Clair Holt and Phoebe Tonkin -- are performing at a certain pitch. Perhaps because we felt the importance of the episode, there is a certain caliber to it that just felt transcendently good. And that's not just me complimenting my performance. It felt like we've been making The Originals for years judging from the quality. It's just a great, epic night of television and whether we get picked up or not, they've succeeded in creating something I will always consider superb.
Broken Kingdom premieres on Showtime at 8:30 p.m. May 15. Immediately preceding the film, at 7 p.m., is Kingdom Come. The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.

Nina Dobrev: Death Changes Elena Forever
By JARETT WIESELMAN February 19, 2013
Death has loomed large over Elena Gilbert since The Vampire Diaries pilot, but absolutely nothing will compare with the pain she's forced to endure now that her brother, Jeremy, has fallen victim to vampires.
The shocking death not only devastated fans, but the actors -- Steven McQueen included -- as well. And anyone assuming TVD finds a way to make the best of a bad situation is wrong. Dead wrong. According to Nina Dobrev things are about to get real dark for Elena, whose grief will make her unrecognizable to fans in the coming weeks.
ETonline: This season has been a thrill from the start. What's your feeling about season four?
Nina Dobrev: It's been really cool, especially because you always hear actors say doing a TV show for X amount of years can be boring and repetitive, but over the last four years, Elena has been changing and evolving and growing so much. Julie [Plec, executive producer] has done such an incredible job of keeping it fresh and exciting and making me excited to come to work every day. Especially this season -- and especially with the death of Jeremy. Between last week's episode and this week's, it's been very challenging for me as an actress, but very fulfilling. It's an emotional rollercoaster and I had to go to some dark places.

ETonline: What was your reaction to finding out Jeremy would be killed?
Dobrev: I think we were all shocked and surprised, but that's the show -- it's a vampire show, people have to die all the time. And for Elena, it was very important that she lose Jeremy for what she's about to go through. It becomes a big part of her journey. I know Steven was very bummed, but also excited because he had a lot to do leading up to it -- his character grew and became so strong. It's bittersweet but made for some amazing television.
ETonline: In many ways, Jeremy was the person who really kept Elena tethered to her humanity. Will this loss threaten to make Elena embrace the less desirable sides of vampirism?
Dobrev: Jeremy was the last person she had left, so it's very likely that Elena could go off the deep end now that she doesn't have the one thing that kept her human. Elena wants to protect the people she loves and saw this new-found strength as a way to protect everyone. But, in this case, she couldn't protect Jeremy and lost the only family member she had left. She won't take it lightly. It's going to destroy her.

ETonline: Jeremy was also one of the only remaining characters who touched everyone in Mystic Falls. Will his death, in some ways, reinforce the group?
Dobrev: They do come together, but everyone is sort of walking on pins and needles around Elena so they don't trigger something and send her into a psychotic break. They live in a mystical world, so just because Jeremy's dead, it doesn't mean he's really dead in her mind. So she's looking for any solution she can to bring him back -- Elena is basically mentally unstable, going a little crazy and everyone is trying to help.

ETonline: Obviously Elena still misses Jenna and Alaric, but I would imagine losing Jeremy has a much more profound and prolonged effect on her. True?
Dobrev: Losing Jeremy really, really, really changes Elena. Sometimes people recover from tragedy and sometimes they don't -- but it's a long journey for her. Elena's mourning peroid is much different than any I've ever seen depicted on TV before. She goes off the deep end and spirals downwards into a black hole of death and sadness and misery. I mean, your instinct is right when you asked if we'll see an Elena who embraces her vampire side to a different degree. It's an Elena we haven't seen before, and you'll be shocked, quite frankly. I was very surprised where the episodes take her because it's almost like she's a completely different person that you won't recognize to some degree.

Some people believe Klaroline will be endgame. I think he's not ready to be with her and she's not ready to give in to him. I think he needs to learn to love again without such severe disfunction and she needs to be open to his ability to change. That takes further development for both of them, otherwise the moment they have a little spat Klaus will want to rip her limb from limb (like when she returned the bracelet and he was furious). Caroline needs to step back from her teenager ways (which she's been doing steadily since s1) and extend herself to be a part of the whole world, not just MF. Klaus needs to realize that not everyone is interested in challenging, tormenting, threatening, or hurting him; he needs to open his heart to the vulnerablity of love and be able to trust that even if he feels hurt by someone it wasn't on purpose. If he can never forgive, then he can never love. I seriously doubt that Klayley will be anything more than what it has been. Klaus will trust vampires more than werewolves based upon life in the village before and just after the spell. But he needs the unconditional love of a child and to share responsibility with Hayley to grow. He needs to rebuild the relationship with his family to learn forgiveness and acceptance.

Julie has said that The Originals will be the redemption of Klaus: insidetv.ew.com/2013/03/28/vampire-d
ia
ries-spin-off-originals/
But how do you redeem someone who currently doesn't want to be redeemed? He needs to find in himself reasons why he should do/be better. In the meantime, TO is going to film outdoor shots in Conyers, 10 miles from Covington where outdoor TVD shots are filmed, and they're going to share space in Atlanta for everything indoors. Also Julie is going to have a bit of a hand in both shows to start, as will other writers (at least one of the other major TVD writers is going to be leaving TVD to focus on TO), so they'll be able to find convenient storylines in which to move characters back and forth. (I've seen comparisons to Buffy and Angel for how it can work.) This way TVD - which is a 'coming of age' story - can go back to its main focus and TO - which is more mature with vampires reveling in who they are - can be separate to explore characters and storylines but still have ties to each other.

As for your concerns about the details, there's a big difference between lore and canon. The original lore of vampires is far different than the lore of the current vampire trends, and every book, movie, show, etc must have it's own canon. They're still within the established canon of the show, which I believe has been adapted from the canon in the books (I've not read them but based on what I've read about them) to fit with the styles they need for on-screen. Heck, just the fact that the original lore of vampires is they were old, ugly, and were even animal-esqe doesn't translate as well to the screen and current audiences; hence why they're now sexy, vibrant, happy, angsty, and even sensual. As for Marcel's and Klaus' interaction, I see nothing wrong (in terms of canon) with Marcel challenging Klaus, and Klaus didn't react at first because he was so dumbfounded. But remember, Klaus is already different than when we first met him, which includes trying to not fly off the handle in a murderous rampage every time someone raises their voice at him. Eventually Klaus did freak out as he has before. Remember, being sired and obedient is not typical for vampires. For instance, Damon turned Caroline and she's not sired to him, yells at him, and puts him in his place when need-be. The hybrids were sired and domineered because they were grateful to Klaus for saving them from having to turn on every full moon. That's why they had to turn over and over again to break the sire bond. With vampires, being sire-bonded is exceedingly rare and apparently only occurs when the siree has deep emotional ties to the sire when s/he's turned. Elena and the brick-counting chick were sire-bonded to Damon because of this, while others like Caroline were not. Damon appeared to be sire-bonded to Katherine until the negative emotions overwhelmed him so much that the positive were destroyed. Stefan only loved Katherine because she compelled him, so when he turned he was not sired. Marcel would've been a slave when he was turned 100 years ago (and per what Klaus said, he was being whipped by those keeping him down) but he didn't have the strong emotional connection that would've caused him to be sire-bonded. The reason he said 'my mentor, my savoir, my sire' was because Klaus turned him (a sire line, the one who 'birthed' him into a vampire life) and was molding Marcel in his own image, but once Klaus left Marcel was able to do as he wished.

That's my take on it. In the end, the writers have control over the happenings, the directors have control over the look and feel of the show, the actors have (some) control over the emotions and display of the characters, and the fandom has control over whether it all continues or not (by watching or not). There are going to be some flaws in the stories because what was written in s1 was done without knowledge of what would be occuring in later seasons, and every fan has his/her perception of what is being portrayed so not everyone will 'understand' the show/characters the same way. We can try to sway the stories with what we expect by contacting the writers, we can speculate on what's going to happen (which I like to do but I'm usually surprised), and some fans will go so far as to boycott episodes (like last week's) to try to make a statement. But isn't it true that we watch it because we enjoy watching it? I might not agree with everything that happens, I might want to completely change a storyline or even just a scene, but often if I give the writers leeway the storyline ends up in a place I never expected but really enjoy. For instance, I really want Klaroline to happen, but when it's drawn out with lots of mis-steps and fails along the way it makes the endgame so much sweeter and satisfying. If she were to graduate and run to NOLA to be with Klaus it'd be anti-climactic and unrealistic because they're not ready for it yet. I'd feel ripped off and deceived.

Vampire Diaries' Candice Accola: The Final Episodes Will Leave "Klaroline" Fans Satisfied

By Robyn Ross | TV Guide – 4 hours ago

ice-accola-final-episodes-leave-klarR>oline-203500830.html

Elena needs to get her emotions back -- the way she is now is just stupid -- not even a good story line.
They have it set up for Caroline to be with Klaus....they need to keep that up.
I can see them maybe doing a story about them being apart for awhile...and in doing so find that they are drawn more to each other.
If they keep the story of Klaus having a baby..that's OK, kinda like that....but I want him to raise it with Caroline...since she will never be able to have one of her own...this could fulfill her. They could use this to draw them together.
The one thing I hope they will not do --and I will protest loudly if they do--is if they get Klaus involved with this baby, then have it die in the end ...due to some genetic thing. If that is their intent..then never start it in the first place !!!

I also don't agree with how they have Klaus allowing Marcel to talk to him and handle him..and Klaus just taking it. It doesn't even make sense since Klaus is his (sire) maker...and it would never be handled like this.(Or are they writing their own version of vampire lore? Maybe they need to do some vamp research?)
I know I'm a stickler for details..I just don't take stories as they are...many have told me so, since I tend to dissect a story.

I will take each day as it comes.

I've been trying to gather some of the recent press for The Originals, but before I could even post that they made this announcement today:

t.co/aGHimPJJ5k

SO FREAKING EXCITED! I LOVED the episode and totally didn't expect the big reveal! The look and tone of TO is definitely more mature and dark. Even Klaus and Elijah appeared older-looking, worn, and weary as opposed to the bright and young feel of TVD.

Though the show was only picked up for 13 episodes to start, it's very possible to get the additional 9 episodes to take it to the full 22 (CW shows are usually 22-23 eps per season, whereas cable shows on channels like FX or HBO get 13 and stations like CBS, ABC, & NBC sometimes are over 25 episodes) within the first few episodes being aired. As long as the show gets enough viewers, it should be extended to a full season.

Unfortunately, there is a LOT of hate being thrown around online about the episode, especially towards both Julie and Phoebe. Phoebe has actually gotten death threats - which is ridiculous. I think this twist gives so many potential outlets for storylines that if they hadn't picked up the show it would be insane trying to do everything on TVD. I can't wait for Sep/Oct and The Originals to be a regular weekly event! Eep!

This also means I'm going to have to start planning another trip to GA, so I can visit Covington again and Conyers where TO will be filmed.

In the last few days there has been so many articles, videos, and pictures about The Originals posted that I can't even keep them all straight! Considering the pilot is tomorrow, it's all blowing up. There is so much excitement about this show that it's dang near palpable!

If that's not enough, Joseph, Phoebe (Tonkin who plays Hayley), Julie (Plec), and Charles (Michael Davis who plays Marcel) have all said they will be live tweeting the episode tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if Daniel and a few of the new TO cast members also join in. Basically, twitter will be overrun (and potentially destroyed) tomorrow!

As Daniel said: "You should probably clear your schedule Friday through forever." Considering my brain will probably explode, it makes sense. hahaha

Vampire Diaries' Morgan: "The Originals" Will Explore a Vulnerability in Klaus' Personal Life

The Vampire Diaries' upcoming episode (and backdoor pilot) "The Originals" is bringing a whole new flavor to the series, says star Joseph Morgan.
"Tonally, it's a little different," Morgan tells TVGuide.com. "The Vampire Diaries is a coming-of-age story and "The Originals," like Julie [Plec] has said, is more like The Lost Boys, embracing the nature of being a vampire where you party all night and sleep all day. It's really about these guys who want to be vampires as opposed to the guilt and remorse the weight of that which comes with The Vampire Diaries."

When Klaus receives a message from Katherine (Nina Dobrev) that a witch in New Orleans is plotting against him, he travels to the Big Easy to reunite with his former protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and perhaps reclaim the city that was once his.
"Klaus is a fan of manipulation, and he makes a few direct challenges throughout the episode, and there are a few displays of violence," Morgan says. "The interesting thing to see will be who he's willing to work with to get where he wants to be and what commitments he's willing to make to them. Klaus is very much a lone wolf, he'll side with someone for a certain amount of time and then next thing he'll be siding with someone else against them."
Joining Klaus on his new mission is his brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies), who will be elated to learn he has a reason to keep his family together. "There are elements of the story line that come out which will absolutely explore more of a potential for vulnerability in his personal life and his relationship with family," Morgan says. "Elijah really wants to bring the family together, and he's come to a point where he's realized that the strength they have is with each other. Rebekah and Klaus are very much at odds, so Elijah finds himself a little bit of a middleman."

Although the future of "The Originals" remains to be seen, Morgan says he can't think about the possibility of the pilot not going to series, even if Plec told us she has "a glorious character story for him to tell in the world of Mystic Falls" should the spin-off not happen.
"Everyone at the moment is moving forward as if it will go to series, which I think is the way to go," he says. "I have to proceed that way, because however 'glorious' the [story line] is, I think it'll be a disappointment for me to happen."
And as for Klaus' future as it pertains to Caroline (Candice Accola) and the decision he will make about Tyler (Michael Trevino)? Morgan tells us, "I don't want to say either way where it's going to go, because that's ultimately Klaus' contribution to the finale, making that choice, but I feel like it's not the end of the Klaus-Caroline storyline, but I feel like it's a satisfying place to leave it at the end of the season."
Regardless, Morgan admits that the backdoor pilot never could've happened had it not been for the fans. After all, Klaus was originally intended to be killed off in Season 3!
"I'm so excited for people to meet the new characters and see this new world and what this could be, should it go to series," Morgan says. "I don't think I would have this opportunity if the fans hadn't responded so warmly to Klaus, an old villain, so I really appreciate everyone's support and I hope this is something of a thank you to them."

I will take each day as it comes.

Every episode of CW shows is posted to the website the morning after they air. Go watch it! Such a crazy episode. I forced myself to not watch it a 2nd time right after it aired, because I needed time to calm down afterwards. I wanted to scream and throw things at the tv, followed by leading a pitchfork-armed mob to find Silas.

Then a few hours later I heard what was happening at MIT and all around Boston. I took meds and went to sleep. Just couldn't deal with any more emotions.

I'll rewatch it again a few times this week. I've been tweeting/reading tweets during the episodes so I miss a little now and again. During commercials I rewind and rewatch a scene or two then try to get back before the show starts again. Plus I need to catch a few things that didn't make total sense to me. All before next week's The Originals episode! I have a feeling next week I'm going to be completely freaking out.

(I've been listening to it over and over because it's making me want to move my body - something I need to do more of!)

I think it sets up Klaus' motivation very well: "I want to be king." (Soon after this there was a WWTT of "Klaus is our King" and Joseph said he appreciated it.) Pretty awesome stuff.

His eyes shifted very slightly and the backlighting reflected for a moment at a different angle. I watched it a few times because I thought it was my mind playing tricks for a moment. The idea of it being tears in his eyes would be great, but I think having Klaus with tears in his eyes doesn't really work, as no matter how vulnerable and damaged he is he will always fight to portray himself as powerful. As for the backlighting, in the series premiere the lighting designer started with significant overhead lighting (like most shows) but they kept telling him to go darker and darker. Eventually he only put a few backlights up to show them how ridiculous it is to have almost no light at all, but Kevin, Julie, and the director LOVED it. Since then all interior shots are backlit, which often obscures half the actor's faces, which just adds so much to the tone and feeling of the shot. Most shows couldn't get away with this type of lighting for even a few minutes, but they do it every week. (Just interesting info for you.)

Things can easily change, and I'm sure Claire will become a much bigger presence after the episode or at least after the first few episodes. Daniel will be there when he can, but he can't give up his other show that's doing very well in Canada. But this is why they're adding several new characters into the show. I know Nate and Sebastian have both expressed extreme interest in being in the show (I don't know about Casper considering he's not taken to and used twitter as much as the rest) in some form or another. This could mean some flashbacks, or there's an outside chance that if Silas breaks open the other side a lot of our favorites could come back in some way. The idea for The Originals have been around since the end off season 2 when Klaus came on the show and they decided to not kill him off after a few episodes as originally planned. In fact, Klaus and Elijah weren't brothers in the first concept of Klaus. But as they developed who these characters were, the idea for the original family was born. So development of TVD s5 and TO s1 is going to be very fluid over the summer. Who knows where they could take it, and things could always change.

That's been thrown around before about doing a tv series about vampires: the actors age. But we all (should) realize that this is fantasy; actors age while vampires don't. Even so, vampires will change how they look over the years to fit in with society. The original family looked quite different when they were human, 500 years later when Klaus and Elijah met Katherine, and even in the last 100 years. They change their hair, adjust their looks a bit, clearly change their clothes, so having the actors change over the years isn't so disruptive to the vampire mythology when you consider they would have to adapt to their surroundings. But we know they're actors and in 30 years when the actors are in their 50s and 60 they won't be able to play the same young, sexy vampires, but it wouldn't be crazy to imagine them pulling it off for 5-10 years. They take care of their bodies and have makeup artists to help hide the changes. Even so, if you look back to s1 Stefan and Damon, they look different in s4. But we accept it because the changes happened slowly over time and with storylines that give reason for changes. There's also the possibility of some characters dying or leaving town at some point in the series and replacing them with new characters; many of us violently hate those changes, but it can keep a show fresh in story and look. Either way, if anyone stops watching a show because the actors are aging against character rules, were they ever a fan of the show or just a fan of the actors?

I noticed his eyes sparkle the first time I seen it...so I watched for it this time again. It made me think that he was tearing up and made him seem more vulnerable.

Then the question is..Why call it "Originals" if there is only going to be 1 "Original" on there all the time, with a bunch of other people. I don't think I'd like that. I was hoping to see the 3 of them..and maybe bring back the 2 brothers that died..in scenes about how they were created and from then..through the ages till now. That's what I was hoping it was going to be.

Just another question..or should I say thought. ..Vampires are ageless, they will never get any older..but in real life the actors are going to show an age change...so these shows cannot go on indefinitely...like a 30 - 40 year run (like we would hope) Even the next 5 years would show aging in the actors. Will need a lot of make-up work to cover up.

I will take each day as it comes.

I fixed the link. When SP posted it, it didn't adjust it properly to make it work. Thanks for letting me know.

A LOT of fans have been making posters for the spinoff and I actually love some of them far more than the official poster. The reason Marcel (I think that's how they're spelling the characters name - I don't wanna look it up right now) is up front with Klaus is because Marcel is basically running NOLA's supernatural scene so he and Klaus are probably going to get a lot of screen time as they alpha battle. Also, Daniel is still going to be filming Saving Hope, which is still airing in Canada, so he's probably not going to play such a big role on the spinoff. It's hard enough to be a main character on one show, but to do so in 2 shows filming in 2 different countries would be absolute hell. The way I've heard it is he's going to pop in for episodes now and again, but won't be in every episode. As for Claire, her contract to be on The Originals wasn't penned until after they filmed the backdoor pilot, so she doesn't play much of a part in that episode. I'm wondering if her story will be a little on the light side in the beginning (like Matt or Bonnie in TVD, not in every episode).

I don't get WGN (I have Dish Network satellite and even with the local package it's MN programming), but it's not a big deal because there isn't an episode I don't have easy access to. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD and I keep every episode of the recent season on DVR until I get the DVD. Yes, I'm a little obsessive. haha But I like to go back and watch the episodes a few times to catch all the little things. For instance: when Jeremy was killed, behind Bonnie there was a blood stain in the shape of a heart, or in the last episode there was a moment in which Klaus' eyes literally sparkled for a moment - due to his eyes shifting and being backlit. So no need to try to catch extra airings. hehehe

To be honest, it took me until a few episodes into 3rd season before I realized I had seen Joseph Morgan before (and enjoyed his work). I was a little disconnected from TVD for the first 2 seasons, but when Klaus showed up my attention was devoured. Then as the Originals started becoming such a huge force in the show, I was more hooked than ever. So Klaus has totally become my favorite. I have since gone out of my way to find more of Joseph's work and I really admire his talent. Watching him develop Klaus into such a layered and complex character has really been awesome. Caroline was so annoying and ridiculous when the show started, but she's really come into her own after being turned and she's grown into a rich and strong character. When her and Tyler started dating I was totally loving it. But as we saw Klaus showing his vulnerability and softness with her, it did intrigue me. Since I love seeing Joseph portray Klaus this way, I have to love seeing him with Caroline. And as much as it would be great to see them together soon/eventually, I like that they've been essentially torturing the Klaroline shippers by dragging this out. We need to allow the character arcs to happen that brings them closer and more open to each other. I've seen rumors that by the end of the season their relationship will come to a head. Not sure if that means they'll be together or something happens to slam the door shut, but I know there's always a chance for things to change. Since The Originals will probably film in Conyers, right next door to Covington, there's a good chance that there will be a little leap-frogging of characters. So even if Klaus goes to NOLA and Caroline stays in MF, there's always a possibility of crossover. And with such a tortured soul as Klaus, I'm sure he's always going to be striving for something he doesn't think he deserves, such as Caroline. After all, his (step) father never loved him, his mother hated him as a reminder of her infidelity and for the power he attained when he turned, and the sibling love/hate/love relationship really is wearisome after 1,000 years. Add to it all the people who have let him down or challenged him over the years when he is so desperate to find some control and consistency that is forever impossible, and it's no wonder he's so afraid of both being with and not being with Caroline.

I would love to spend hour upon hour analyzing both Klaus and Joseph. emoticon

Don't know if you can get station WGNA - ch 19 for Comcast..but TVD is on tonight and it is the show about Klaus and Caroline with the stake.
It comes on 11:30pm eastern time.

I do love the interaction between Klaus and Caroline. He wants to love her/yet he doesn't. He actually seems to be afraid to love or trust anyone. He portrays his emotions /or trying to be lack of emotions..very well. A bit like Damon was with Elena in the beginning. I think if Klaus would stop cutting his nose off to spite his face..Caroline would love him too. She is attracted to him now..but like she said, everytime she thinks maybe, he does something to mess it up.
I'm looking forward to watching it again tonight.

One thing I don't like about the new poster for Originals is that Rebekka and poor Elijah are way in the back of the poster. Afterall, they are the Originals..not the other guy! I guess it shouldn't bother me but it does.

By the way - the comp won't let me use the link you provided for Klaus as villain.

This makes me smile a lot, as I'm really enjoying Joseph's portrayal of Klaus, especially the near instantaneous changes in mood and personality when a situation changes. And the last episode (where he was pseudo-staked by Silas and had to beg Caroline for her help) seriously impressed me. I'm ridiculously excited for The Originals episode and the series!

This article contains some Spoilerish news:

The Vampire Diaries Bite: Will Prom Bring Caroline and Klaus Closer Together?

By Robyn Ross | TV Guide – 1 hour 47 minutes ago

Leave it to The Vampire Diaries to feature a prom filled with betrayal, vampire bites and beyond-glamorous gowns.
When the show returns for its final five episodes of the season, the Mystic Falls gang is heading to what should be one of the most momentous occasions of the year. Between emotionless Elena (Nina Dobrev), Silas looming and dark-magic Bonnie (Kat Graham), it might be an unforgettable event, just not in the way they had hoped. For Caroline (Candice Accola) especially, prom just isn't the same without her boyfriend Tyler (Michael Trevino) by her side, but don't expect his absence to leave room for a Caroline-Klaus pairing at the dance.
"Right now Caroline's incredibly committed to Tyler and has remained so all season long in spite of these moments that she has with Klaus that are very alluring," executive producer Julie Plec tells us in this week's Vampire Diaries Bite.

So if Caroline remains devoted to Tyler, does this mean Plec has plans to bring him back for good? She says viewers will know their intentions by the season's end.
"The question of Tyler's safety and security all links to Klaus, whose journey over the course of the season has been struggling between ego and anger and all of the bad sides of him set against this genuine affection he has for Caroline and really the love he has for her," Plec says. "In the finale, we'll get a sense of what stand [Klaus is] going to take as it relates to Tyler."
Watch this week's Vampire Diaries Bite for more on the prom episode, including why Klaus-and-Caroline 'shippers still have something to look forward to, and how the Salvatores will attempt to make Elena "feel."

I posted a blog about my tour of Covington a few weeks back. There was 1 thing I wasn't allowed to share then, as it is a small spoiler. This is because it would be considered a spoiler that they went to this place, but now that teasers are out for the episode, it's not really a spoiler anymore, considering one of the teasers shows the girls in the location. But I was told that I could share it a few days before the episode, so I'm sharing it now. If you don't like any spoilers whatsoever, skip the rest of this post and come back after you've watched the episode.

Here's the blog about the tour for anyone who hasn't read it: www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo

On the left half of the pic are a couple shops. The one on the corner is where they filmed the dress shop for this week's prom episode. They used the outside of the shop as well as the inside (as seen in one of the teasers released in the last few days). The shop next door is a consignment shop but they decorated the outside a bit to fit into the episode.

When I was in GA I got a little spoiler about the prom episode, but I'm not allowed to share until the week the episode airs. Nothing too crazy, but just a little info.

I'm absolutely craving the Originals spinoff episode! And I'm in desperate need of having some real Klaus-centric stories on the spinoff next season.

I think a woman is only a cougar if she acts upon a desire. hehe Honestly, I think it's okay to crush on someone as long as it doesn't turn into obsession or dramatic action. After all, we all want to feel desire and passion sometimes, even if it's only as a fantasy. Hence why romance novels have been written/sold over decades/centuries!

I'm enamored by Sebastian Roche. I'm a fan of TVD and Supernatural and he's had short runs on both shows. He's 48, just old enough to be my father (17 years older than me), yet I know he's quite sexy. That seems weird to me, but because it's at a distance it's not a big deal. Besides, I've been single for a LONG time, so I like having a wide range of guys to crush/daydream about.

Besides, our fantasies don't have to be controlled by our physical age/life. That's half the fun. Enjoying thinking about someone who is good looking can actually be good for the brain and the body. As long as it doesn't become an obsession that takes away from a real life, it's all good. hehe

Oh and apparently Joseph is always working out because he has a fear that he'll be asked to do a shirtless/nearly nude scene last minute and not be able to prepare. So I'm sure he'll always be looking good. hehe

That's OK - any of them are lookin' good ! Damon's shower towel walk arounds are enough..and no matter what Klaus age is..the nude scene wasn't bad at all. LOL

Wonder if I'd be called a cougar? All 3 of them are much younger than my eldest son !! lol
I have a friend who is a couple of years older than me..and she has a sever crush on Damon..especially his eyes...Maybe I shouldn't feel so bad then. lol

I did have to laugh when Elena came out with nothing on...Damon was like, yea OK..but Stefan was like he was going to fall over. I roared when she said "it's nothing you haven't seen before"..at least for Ian/ Damon..lol

Agree to disagree? Ian looks mid-30s to me, but as Damon he looks late 20s. Paul looks at least 30, but as Stefan he looks mid 20s. Joseph, to me, totally looks early 30s, but as Klaus he plays such an old soul so he looks mid to late 30s with the demeanor of someone in their 40s. Though they all totally have the sex appeal of someone in their early 20s. Then again, if I had met them this week I could've really been certain. hehe

Have you seen video of the Crimson Sky convention in 2012 with Ian and Joseph? Watching Joseph in interviews and especially the rare con appearances he makes totally made me adore him. One question is what their greatest achievements are and you really get to see some adorable by-play from them. From what I heard this weekend about who the actors are off screen, if you really pay serious attention to videos like that and keep your mind open, you can get an idea about what they're like.

LOL - like your explanation BUT - Damon and Stefan are a bit long in the tooth for vampire's too...yet they don't look older than late 20's -30.

You are looking at him from younger eyes - I see him from slightly ( well, more than slightly) older eyes..so even if he looks 40 to me...Which to you would be "old"..to me is still young!!!
Once you hit a certain age - even a 1000 year old vampire isn't that old ! lol

Last night I was thinking that way again..and I still have to say, especially in close ups..he still looks 40's.

I will take each day as it comes.
As my grandfather always told me.."Don't ever get old,it's a ..." I should have listened to him!!

Oh my word, 40s? What?!?! He's 20 days older than me. When he had the curly mop of hair he did look much younger, but as he's playing a 1,000 year old vampire he needs to have a more aged look. I think he looks just like he's in his 30s. See him in a playful light (such as in his few con appearances) and he definitely looks younger than Klaus does. Joseph is just so great at using his talent to convince you that he IS the character that he actually seems to change his age along with the character. haha

I watched the last half tonight and I was again disappointed in the changes they made.
I thought the chariot race was good, but did not have the drama of the original.
Even when he goes to see Massala at the end, that was a totally different scene. If they had done it like the old one and then maybe just added some of the parts they did tonight..would of been a real tear jerker.

I'll have to see if I can get those movies.

I just can't believe the difference in his looks in a matter of a couple of years.
I looked up his bio today and he is about the same age as Ian, yet they look so different in ages. I would of placed him in his 40's.

I will take each day as it comes.

I came across Joseph's version of Ben Hur several months ago. I watched it on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUeWdKpa3dk&
li
st=PL6B9E301FE574403E
and enjoyed it, so I bought the dvd. Most likely they skipped a few parts on the airing, as apparently they did so when it was originally shown on primetime tv. The videos on youtube don't take out the sex scenes or shot of Joseph's naked butt, as it was taken from the dvd.

As for the comparison, I never watched the original. I don't believe in organized religion and follow my own beliefs, so I only watched Ben Hur because Joseph is in it. I thoroughly enjoyed what he did with the character as the emotions he puts into it (and the half naked and full backside naked scenes) really added to my appreciation of his talent.

I've also heard that filming Ben Hur is when he started dating Emily, but they've since broken up. When you consider that information, it makes watching the movie a bit more interesting considering their relationship may have been blooming as they were filming some really touching scenes.

As for seeing him when he was younger, watch Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. It's one of my favorite movies and Joseph looks so incredibly young and it's almost hard to consider the same actor playing William Wharley and Klaus Mikaelson! If you can get your hands on the UK tv show Hex (season 1 was released in the US, you specifically want DVDs 1 & 2), you need to watch that! His character goes through a pretty dramatic change over the few episodes, plus there's some very interesting scenes in there as well. His final scene in the series was so heart wrenching to me that I watched it probably 30 times before returning it to the library (where I rented it from). I didn't want to let that character go!

He's really been in a lot of movies, playing very different characters (I sometimes forget it's him because he's so incredible at breathing unique life into the characters). Unfortunately, not all of his parts are noteworthy. For instance, I recently watched Mister Lonely and I was totally disappointed; not only because Joseph hardly has screen time, but because I felt the story was convoluted and the characters not well defined beyond your initial impression.

Was flipping through stations last night and saw that Ben Hur was on. I thought it was the original one..but it's from 2010. Started watching to see if it would be any good (remakes are never as good as the originals) and was surprised to see someone on there that looked a little familiar..but younger ! Joseph Morgan is playing Ben Hur. He looks so much younger on there (like a kid)and that was only 3 years ago..he has aged ! Had to think twice to make sure it was him.

It is a 2 part show and part 2 is on tonight...on OVAT ( ch 155 for Comcast) from 8-10pm and from 12- 2 am.

I will finish watching it tonight, because I want to see how they handle the rest of it.
It is true that remakes are not as good as the original..for this one is not and they have made some changes to the story, which actually never happened to Ben Hur or his owner/mentor/father, Quintus Arrius. He does not kill himself..and no masked ball..no sword fighting with the big guy and he sure didn't kill anybody.

Also the crucifixion of Simonides did not happen in the original..he was imprisoned and tortured and left lame when Ben comes home to find him again.

Also, Charlton Heston never did a nude scene in it either !!!!

Kristin Kreuk (Beauty and the Beast) plays Tirzah.

You also don't feel the connection between Ben Hur and Messala , his life long friend, turned antagonist.

I wonder if they will have his mother and sister become lepers tonight or change that too.
The chariot race is coming, hope they do it justice.
Speaking of which - The chariot and horses used for the race belong to Quintus Arrius and he is supposed to be there for the race.

I wish if they are going to do these remakes that they keep o the original story lines. People know how it is supposed to go and these changes just don't let you bond with the show as you should if they want to keep ratings. This new one will not stand the test of time like the original one.

That's nice that you got to see the place for TVD ..too bad they weren't there.

I will take each day as it comes.

Oh my krikies! I took a tour of the Vampire Diaries set locations in Covington, GA, today! Eep! So awesome! Unfortunately, turns out that this week the cast is shooting on location in NOLA, so I didn't get to see/meet any of them, but that's okay. I did find out that it seems if The Originals is picked up that they'll be filming in a town right near Covington, so I'm really hopeful to come back again late this year or next year to see new locations and maybe - hopefully - get to see the cast next time.

Here's an interview with Joseph that touches on season 4 and what could be coming in the spinoff. It was posted on 2/13, before last week's episode, and there aren't any real spoilers. Most of the potential spoilers are Joseph's ideas for what MIGHT happen; I like some of his ideas! One semi-spoiler that doesn't appear to be Joseph's speculation is from the question asking if Klaus will ever be lucky in love.

Joseph's preferred charity, Positive Women, went on a twitter campaign this weekend. They were under 9,000 follows and have climbed to just shy of 12,000 follows as of now. If you're on twitter and not following, please do!

Also, Joseph is part of the Bille Celeb Challenge, https://thebille.com/bille-celeb-cha

which is free to sign up and vote for Joseph to win money for Positive Women. Ian all but has this month's voting locked for #1, so hopefully we'll get Joseph into #1 next month!

TVD got an early renewed for a 5th season! I wonder where they'll take us next! I'm also curious to see how they're going to run TVD and The Originals alongside each other or if they will become wholly separate.

Unfortunately, TVD didn't win anything. Quite sad. We know they're awesome though!

To be honest, I was really annoyed at the Favorite dramatic TV actor category. They pitted Ian against Paul (and Jared against Jensen) which splits the fandom vote. And anyone who doesn't watch Vampire Diaries or Supernatural is going to vote for the only one left. I think that was either a set-up to kill the vote or just someone being incredibly stupid.

If anyone reads this by January 2nd, there's 'best of 2012' voting going on at tv.com and TVD is in several categories. You can vote as many times as you want by clicking on the 'vote' button and then refreshing the page (the F5 button works with many programs so you don't have to keep moving the mouse). Some of the categories are tight battles, with multiple people voting over and over again, so every vote and every person voting multiple times makes a difference!

www.tv.com/features/best-of-2012/

TVD is in the following categories:
best horror/supernatural series (against Supernatural)
best primetime soap (Grey's has been trying to make a run for us!)
best villian: Evil Alaric (aka Evilaric)
biggest badass: Connor Jordan
most loveable monster: Caroline Forbes
best couple: Damon & Elena (Battle Royal with Castle: up to 20 votes/sec each!)

If you're willing to help with other CW shows:
Supernatural is in the following categories:
best horror/supernatural series (against TVD)
most dynamic duo: Dean & Sam Winchester
most tragic character death: Bobby Singer

Arrow is in the following categories:
best new series
best sci-fi/superhero series
best new character: Arrow

If you haven't seen Ben Hur (2010) starring Joseph Morgan, give it a watch. It's pretty long, but I think JoMo did a really good job with it - even in some very *ahem* 'personal' scenes. haha Seeing him in the galley was interesting - he doesn't have much luck with ships (have you seen him in Master and Commander?)!

It seems kinda difficult to find a dvd of the movie, and expensive. Someone has uploaded the it in 8-12 minute sections (it's like a 3 hour movie, so there are a lot of them) on youtube if you're interested in checking it out: www.youtube.com/user/SuperLjubav/vid

I had a really bad day yesterday so I've spent most of the night watching con videos on youtube. I wanted to find one with Sebastian Roche on a TVD panel, and totally found a hilarious one! Sebastian with Joseph, Nathaniel, and Ian... and a lot of dirty innuendos!

I had to pause to use the bathroom at least once so I wouldn't pee my pants from laughing!

Man I wish I could go on a set tour and meet some of the cast!

Walmart definitely has season 3 DVD for $9.96, as I bought my copy tonight. The price does NOT extend to their online sales.

Target does have it for $13 in store and online.

Best Buy is having some tv seasons on sale, but TVD is NOT included.

I totally forgot to post this months ago, but I just remembered it so here you go. Paul Wesley was on Jay Leno on 9/20 and had some absolutely hilarious stories to share. There's wannabe gangsta Paul, non-fighter Paul, and a recent story about chasing someone from his house. (I'd bet it was actually a stalker-fan. haha)

If anyone is interested in getting the season 3 DVD for cheap, Walmart has it on sale starting at 8pm on Thanksgiving night, for $9.96 while supplies last. If they run out before you get there, it appears Target may have it on sale starting at 9pm for $13, but as it's not included in the picture of samples it is not guaranteed, just expected.

Wow I can't believe I missed it - Master and Commander: Far Side of the World with Joseph Morgan as a sweet natured and adorable captain of the mizzentop (aka sailor who leads a team who deals with a group of sails) is playing several times on 2 different Cinemax channels in the next week. Unfortunately he's not in the entire movie, but when you do see him he has some integral parts. Worth watching to see him playing a part totally different than Klaus.

If you haven't seen Never Cry Werewolf with Nina, it's playing on SyFy at 11am on Fri 6/15 and again at 2am on Sat 6/16.

Urban Legens: Final Cut with Matt Davis is on Starz Edge at 1:45am on Tue 6/12. Blue Crush with Matt is on E! at 12pm on Tue 6/12 and 9am on Wed 6/13. Shadow of Fear with Matt is on SHOEX (Showtime I think?) at 4pm on Tue 6/12 and 9:20am on Fri 6/15.

Wake with Ian is on SHOTO (Showtime I think?) at 8:05am on Wed 6/13.

Not all inclusive, but there are a few options of movies to watch with some of our fav actors! For instance, Arena with Nina (and Kellan Lutz from Immortals and Twilight) is on G4 (no idea what channel this is!) in a half hour, but I doubt anyone will see this in time. hahaha

Wow, I had no idea that LJ Smith, who wrote the original TVD and Secret Circle books had been fired from the series! I haven't read the books, but it sucks to have put so much time and effort into something then have it taken from you.

Honestly, I wasn't wholly impressed by her voice singing live - but that's one way to know she's not lipsyncing! I loved the dancing (considering in an interview she said Ian was dancing the dance, thinking of him doing those moves is hilarious!) and the outfits are cute.

So I've been renting movies from my local library for free, and found a few there with Nina in it. She has a very small part in Chloe - which is not worth watching just to see Nina, and the subject matter of the movie could be disturbing for some (woman thinks husband is cheating, pays a prostitute to proposition him, and unsuspected consequences ensue). She plays the son's girlfriend who gets caught sneaking to his room. I also watched American Mall which I had never heard of. I believe it was a made for MTV movie that was supposed to ride the High School Musical series to gain popularity; unfortunately it clearly failed. It's a musical about teens that work at a mall (surprised at that, huh? haha) and Nina plays the female lead. It's obvious that the singing voice isn't hers (she's not good at matching her lipsyncing to the singing) and the plot is weak. Nina's dancing is okay, though because it's a musical you know there was a ton of choreography and practice to get that way. I'd say only watch it if you can get it for free and are totally bored. I'd doubt you'd want to watch it twice.

Speaking of Blue Crush, it's going to be on ABC Family this Tuesday! 4:30 pm EST. Also, if you see this on time, Legally Blonde (Matt Davis is Warner - I had no idea!) is on TODAY (5/12).

I didn't get into Secret Circle. If Cult doesn't happen then Matt Davis MUST stay with TVD! Of course, I'm saying this while I'm 2 weeks behind in episodes. I've watched Do Not Go Gentle but I haven't been able to write out my thoughts yet, so if wherever things are with Evilaric I don't know yet.

BTW, if you haven't yet seen Blue Crush, do yourself a favor and watch it NOW! hehe
