Well my lactose interolance test came back negative but the nurse said I might be allergic to milk. They'll have to send me for allergy tests to be certain. Going to see my doctor on Thursday night. I started cutting out my dairy and finding other stuff and I'm starting to feel better so it might be an allergy.

Was able to start exercising again this past week as my foot is better. So I finally lost some weight although I had gained a little with not being able to exercise. Glad to see the scale go down again instead of up.

How is everyone else doing?

CT - That test doesn't sound fun at all. I hope that it helps you figure out what is going on. I never had a test for it - was just told since a kid that I am lactose intolerant. Somedays I can handle more dairy than others. Glad the foot is feeling better.

I have an appt with the gastro today to discuss the increase in reflux symptoms. I hope that he has an answer as I am miserable most days.

I added a team goal so I hope many of you will sign up. Keep stepping!

How is everyone doing?

Had my lactose intolerance test yesterday. It was awful and took 3 hours. I don't know if anyone has had one done yet but they take your blood then make you swallow this chalky liquid then you wait 30 minutes and they take your blood. You do this 4 times, they ended up taking blood 5 times yesterday. My arms are bruised and sore. Last night when I told my mom about the test she said when I was a baby I was allergic to dairy so maybe that's why I'm having problems again. I found some lactose free milk that I tried yesterday and I didn't seem to have any problems so hopefully I can drink that. Need my calcium.

My foot is feeling better too so I'm walking home for lunch (the truck is at the dealership getting some work done) and then if I feel good after supper going to try at least 30 minutes on the treadmill. Gained a little so back over 175 lbs. Need to get back under to maintain my loss I've had so far.

Adjusting to life without kitty but it's sure strange. Still expect to wake up with her in bed or meet me at the door when I come home. The other animals are doing fine too.

Well guess I better get some work done since I'm here. Have a great day.

Check out the Two for Tuesday thread!
I made my goal of 5000 steps yesterday so hoping to do that again today. I did have to take a walk when we got home from my nephews birthday dinner.

Hope the dr has some answers for you. I hate when you can't figure things out like that. Hopefully it is just the dairy issue. I see the gastro on Thursday because my heartburn has been out of control even on meds. Hoping that he has another med to try to at least get me through the holidays as I don't want to get scoped until next year because of the deductible :)

Had some laser therapy last week on my and it's doing better. Managed 30 minutes on the treadmill on Saturday and Sunday. Hoping to increase it soon and get back on track. I've gained 2 weeks in a row and need to get back under 175.

Eating healthy so far today and my BF is pretty and cooking healthy suppers so I should be good.

I've also decided to go back to choir. I'm not singing yet, just playing the piano. Haven't decided if I want to go every week so I've committed to twice a month to play. Might sing next year but not right now.

Well back to work I go, have a dr appt to try and figure out my stomach problems. Whenever I have dairy it seems I have severe stomach cramps even with taking Lactaid pills so need to see what's going on.

Not a good weekend and unfortunately ate too much because of the stress.

Friday I had the day off work so went into the city and we went grocery shopping. We were home early. Then after supper we were sitting in the living room watching tv and my kitty died. We had planned on taking here in on Saturday but it's still traumatic. We brought her to the vet and we are doing a communal cremation. She went so fast. She was diagnosed with cancerous tumors at the beginning of August but we are so glad she didn't suffer long. She was only 11. The other cats and the dog are doing pretty good, sometimes they look for her. Had to spend the weekend washing all her blankets because they were smelling bad and the one cat wouldn't leave them alone. I also put her kennel downstairs because the one cat and dog kept going over to it.

Eating this weekend was not good. I ate too much and didn't exercise much. But today is a new day and starting over.

Have to make a doctor's appointment as I've been having a lot of stomach problems and I think I've narrowed it down to dairy. Any time I have dairy I have severe stomach cramps. Almost had to go to the hospital one night it was so bad. Yesterday had the same problem but I didn't have dairy. I even started taking Lactaid with my dairy but it doesn't always work.

Well I guess I better get to work, hope you all have a great day.

Oh No CT! I hope that the dr is wrong about the torn ligament. Rest and take care of yourself.

Char: I hope that your knee is just being temperamental. Get some ice on it if you can and hang in there.

Debbi: I hope you were able to find a good pedometer cheap!

My challenge this week is just get my steps in. I'm dealing with another episode of rapid
weight gain so it stinks. I wish they would figure out why it happens but right now the drs don't seem all that worried about it.

Keep pushing forward everyone!

OUCH! I tripped walking this morning. Still did about 3.5 miles after the fall (total of 4 miles), including a little jogging. Didn't feel any effects from the fall other than my sweats rubbing against my scraped knee. Now, after a few hours, my knee is starting to get stiff and sore!

Didn't make my steps for last week but almost. Went to the chiropractor on Friday so he could check my insoles and he looked at my foot. He said that I have torn the ligament in my foot and he's trying some laser therapy to see if it helps. So not allowed to exercise right now.

Ended up gaining this week but that's due to no exercise. Will have to watch my food more closely.

Woke up to snow this morning. Yup, you read correctly, snow! Just enough to cover the ground and doesn't seem to be sticking to the road which is good.

I took Friday and going into the city to do some grocery shopping when I pick up my boyfriend from his specialist appointment. He's staying overnight and then I'm meeting him at the grocery store. Groceries are so expensive in our small town so making a trip to the city before winter and stock up.

How is everyone else doing?

Well back to work I go, think I'll be reading my book, not alot to do today.

Have not been doing well this week for steps. Doctor said no exercise until today, so can't wait until I get home and can hit the treadmill. I think I've been averaging 5,000 per day and I'm used to 10,000 or more. It's sure been hard just sitting around. Hoping this weekend I can do some exercising without hurting my foot more.

How is everyone doing?

I've been stress eating this week due to a few things so I'll be surprised if I post a loss on Monday or hopefully not a very large gain.

Good Morning Everyone,

Well, my pedometer doesn't work - it was a cheapy one so I'm not surprised. It kept starting over!! Talk about defeating the purpose!

But, I'll stay on here and pic up a new one this weekend. Not really cheap but not too much either. I'll find one.

Today is erally rainy, going to be high of 90, mold and grass counts high so I'll be in all day. That's ok because I'm working. I have Praise Team practice after dinner so not much time for exercise but I'll fit in something in between.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Talk to you all later!

Love to all of my spark family!! ~ Debbi

Thanks everyone! It's sure been hard work but well worth it. My doctor wants me in the 140s so about 30 lbs to go. Not sure about that but we'll see how far I get.

Went to doctor yesterday and I strained my foot muscle so have to take it easy the rest of the week. She said I can do a little walking but not as much as I've been doing. Maximum 30 minutes on the treadmill. So tonight after supper instead of exercising going to make some banana muffins. Found a wonderful recipe on here using yogurt and the muffins were delicious. So going to make some more to use up the frozen bananas we have and never use.

Well I guess I better get back to work, although there is nothing to do. Have a wonderful day!

I have a hit a milestone that I thought I would never reach.

I HAVE LOSE 100 POUNDS!!!

I couldn't believe it when I weighed myself on Monday. I have been working on this goal for six years and didn't think I would ever reach it. It has been alot of work with a few setbacks over the years. I have about 30-35 pounds to go (well that's where the doctor wants me). But we'll see how it goes. I am now officially under 175 pounds.

Kitty is still hanging on. She's lost a little more weight and when I took her to the vet about a week ago they took another xray and 2 of the tumours have grown. So they know what it is for sure now.

Haven't been able to exercise for a few days. I've hurt my foot and am going to the doctor today. I also have a bunion on the same foot which can get really painful. The doctor said surgery eventually but she says it's not bad enough yet.

Well I guess it's back to work for me, I will post an updated photo when I have a chance. Need someone to take my photos.

HI Everyone!

Been awhile since I've been here also. Thanks for reaching out, Deb!

I've done pretty good with maintaining my loss to 244.5. I will join the challenge. I can't promise to post every day but I will make an effort. I've got a lot going on but I've been focused on my health also.

I'll read up on the challenge and be back!

I'm working on and off Sat and Sunday. Monday was supposed to be date day but DH had something else come up so I guess I will be hanging out with the cat and getting some organization done or some shopping emoticon

I started reading the 10 Day Detox Diet today by Dr Mark Hyman. I haven't gotten that far into it but hopefully it will be something that I can learn from and try out. I can do anything for 10 days right? Well - except for the Lemon juice fast or whatever that is with the cayenne pepper and maple syrup :)

That's great that you have been able to cut out the pasta and the rice. I just say a recipe the other day for cauliflower tortillas. They look pretty good.

You are stronger than the chocolate so this week will be better!!

Hi Deb,

Yes I did try it, its pretty tough, so i have adapted it a bit, I managed to cut out pasta, actually that came easier than i expected, after not eating it for a few weeks ergh it made me feel ill when i ate it again. I think I tried it 3 times and each similar effect my stomach was in knots. So now I dont eat white rice I replace it with chopped up cauliflower, i dont eat pasta, and I've cut bread down a lot. So its not really paleo diet but its heading in that general direction or certainly towards whole foods cutting processed food out. At the moment I'm making a serious effort to cut chocolate I was doing soo well for a week and this weeki have been terrible !

Progress not perfection I guess that my aim right now.I think I managed to loose 0.5lb last week i will take it. This week must be better !!

Hi Triing - Did you ever try the Paleo diet you were going to work on?
I'm curious how it worked out for you. Welcome back and I hope you decide to check in with us on a more regular basis!

So it is Wednesday again. This week is flying by. I can't think of an NSV at the moment. I'm really feeling discouraged after I weighed in this morning. I was up another 5 lbs. I know I need to call the dr but I never seem to have enough time in the day.

I picked up the 10 day detox diet book by Dr Mark Hyman I think it is at the library this weekend. A woman that I worked with and her husband had good success on this plan and working out their food intolerances. I know that I have some but I am not sure about all of them. I planned to read The Spark in August but I failed to start it. I think that may end up being my September goal to read both of those books.

I hope that others have some NSV's to share! Keep pushing forward and have a healthy day!

Hello all, thought I would drop in and say hello as its been a while.

I've been bouncing around between about 205 and 220 lbs for probably 18 months - i think i have final ht the point where I know i need to get serious and get under that darn 200lb level.

I've been obsessing over the biggest loser recently(its all on you tube) i never really watched it before, but now I'm inspired i want to lose 10lbs a week !! OK Im not going to be running up mountains or hitting the gym 20 hours a week so maybe 1lb a week is more realistic. But i have found watching it while I'm making dinner is helping to stop me a) snacking while I'm at it b) helps me think about healthily dinner choices.

Jean good luck with the trainer. Id definitely get one if i could afford to. for me though I'm just trying to do 15 mins a day of square and lunges abs!

Cindy sorry about your kitty, you will know when its time, its never an easy thing to decide.

Great to see you Jean! Glad things are going so well!

What a crazy week. My MIL is here this weekend recovering from an angioplasty in her belly. This has been a really bad year for our family and I'm over the hospital visits.

I'm struggling to get my steps in this week because my hip hurts. Not sure what is going on but hoping that it passes quickly. I'm taking aleve today to see if it helps with any inflammation. I wonder if it is a shoe issue - I just hope it isn't what it usually is for me - a broken bone in my foot. Sounds bizarre I know but whenever my left hip has hurt in the past - even back when I was 12 years old - it was because my foot was broken. Ugh. I remember stumbling but nothing major. Oh well. Leg pain in my story.

I'm considering starting the 10 day detox diet. A woman at work was on it with her husband and a bunch of his allergy issues cleared up by trying it. I know I really need to give up the dairy, it is just so hard at times because I like cheese and yogurt too much. I should like to feel better more than any food right?

I failed on my goal to blog everyday this month. Whoops, life got in the way again. Hopefully I can get into a routine this fall to help with that.

Enough whining. Have a healthy weekend!

Howdy everyone! What a crazy busy summer this has been... heck, how about crazy busy year!!! Work has been keeping me way busy due to being short staffed...

Things in my weight loss journey are going well. I have been working with a personal trainer since early June. She has given me the encouragement, tools and motivation to finally believe that I will get this weight off once and for all.
I went to see her again last night... I'm down 38 lbs and when she did my body fat analysis, she said I had lost 46lbs of fat and gained about 7 lbs of muscle!!! I am so happy that this is finally working!!!

If you want more details on the tools I use, shoot me an e-mail at jnjhaller@verizon.net. I'll be happy to share :)

I'll check back in when possible... each day seems to roll right into the next one anymore ;)

Hugs!!

EXERCISE/ DIET AND BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION!!!

Persistence... Determination... Consistency... Prayer...
FAITH
This is how I am going to reach my goal of weight loss...

CT - Hope the kitty is doing better. How are you doing overall?
Leslie - How is your restart going?

Anyone else out there these days?

I have been slacking again - I really am disappointed in myself but I seem to let work get the best of me. I think I figured out their pattern and since I'm a permanent employee now - MUST GET IN A ROUTINE!

Better get back to work -= MIL in hospital so working from home today.

Today is Thankful Thursday - I am thankful for a supportive mother who nags just a bit enough to push me into action.

Have a healthy day!

Well I stress ate ALOT yesterday. I had barbecue potato chips, cheezies and way too much pop. Don't know what was going on. Managed 1 hour on the treadmill but I felt awful. Today is much better, everything healthy. I had scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast, fruit for snack, sandwich for lunch and a protein smoothie for my afternoon snack. Not sure about supper, BF is in charge of that.

Kitty is doing a little better but not sure how much longer she'll be with us. She's lost more weight and is now under 7 lbs and she used to be almost 11 lbs. She's not eating much in this hot weather we're having (temps 30 degrees and above) and we're just not used to it. Vet found 4 tumors last week so not sure. That may be why I've been eating so much, stressed out about it. At what point do you go to or when do you put an animal down. I've only had to do it one other time when another cat had a brain tumor and seizures.

Well I guess I better get back to work. Plan on exercising an hour tonight when I get home if this heat doesn't kill me first :)

Have a wonderful afternoon.

I reached Onederland on February 17, 2014

July 1, 2014 I want to weigh 180 (the same weight I was in 1985 at high school graduation).

I made most of my personal goals last week - at least 20,000 steps and tracking at least 3 days. I was short on water 2 days but still had at least 8 glasses so not too bad.

What is your 24 hour challenge this week?

Mine is to not stress eat today thanks to AF and to make the veggie soup I was supposed to make last Monday for dinner in the crockpot before I leave for work.

Hope everyone had a healthy weekend!

Hope you had a great day Leslie!

I walked to the farmer's market with my cousin. Hoping to get some more walking in so that I can make my 20,000 step logged goal for the week. I didn't wear my fitbit 2 of the days so I know that I made it but I don't have it recorded.

I have been procrastinating on a bunch of stuff lately and I really need to break the habit. I'm going to start blogging my goals for everyday again as that really helped in the past. It's kinda boring for the readers but it does help me. This is the one thing that I am going to focus on this week - setting daily goals and achieving them. I really want to be in Onderland long before my niece's wedding next October.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good Morning
Today is my Day one
a new beginning. I gained yesterday but I am refocused again. so will work on exercising journaling increasing water and this should equal weight loss. I made a new chart for me. but also will do try new recipe, prepare ahead, have a meatless day. first i want to get back to journaling before i worry about the exchanges, or nutrition values. After my gain I am currently at 202
I am hoping one day to walk a 5k also.
I will be eating more veggies and fruit and lower meats and to stay away from the bakery products, and home made desserts. and read labels cut out or lower sugar intake. well this is what i will work on.

My goal this month is to lose 3 pounds. If I reach that goal I will have lost 100 lbs! So I'm trying very hard but now it's getting hard to lose weight, usually a couple of ounces a week. But that will add up.

Had four days off on the weekend which I enjoyed until Monday night when one of my cats collapsed on the floor and could barely move. I had her at the vet 9 a.m. Tuesday morning and after blood work and xrays found out she has at least 4 cancerous tumors. The vet says it's just a matter of time and how long and how much money we want to use. She's 11 so she's getting older and the vet did not recommend surgery. We're just trying to make her comfortable and enjoy what little time we have.

So needless to say I'm not really watching calories and haven't been exercising much. I just want to spend as much time with her as I can. She sleeps alot and we let her sleep with us at night. This morning about 5 a.m. she came up on the bed and laid in my arms until 7:30 when I had to get up. I hated to get up to come to work. At least my boyfriend is home during the day to watch her and spend time with her.

Well I better get back to work, have lots of work to do and not much time to do it in.

Have a great day.

So what is your NSV today?

I don't really have one for this week as I have gained another 3lbs since Monday. I just don't know what to do anymore.

Happy August!

Anyone have any goals set for the month? I need to make some this month to help stay focused.

My 24 hour challenge today is to drink water. I have been slacking the last few days and right now I really want either tea or pop.

Hope everyone is off to a great start this week.

Well it's another new week and so far I'm doing good. Managing 12 glasses of water every day and staying within my calorie range (no more than 1800 even with exercise).

Managed to lose 4 lbs in July so I'm pretty happy with that. Want to keep going. I now weigh less than I did when I graduated high school in 1985.

Not sure how much exercise I will get in this week as we're entering another heat wave (temperatures around 30 degrees). I usually don't like anything above 24 or 25 so it's going to be a rough week. Good thing work has air conditioners we can have on.

How is everyone else? Do you have nice weather where you are?

Well I guess it's back to work for me, although I have no work to do so we'll see how the afternoon goes. Have a great day.

Brand new week! My goals today are to walk at least 3000 steps, drink 96 oz of water, get all my work done and plan out dinners for the week. I'm starting way later than I planned this morning so hopefully I can stay focused today and not procrastinate.

Hope everyone is having a healthy weekend.

I Have a bit of renewed motivation. My niece is getting married next year and I really don't want to look like this in the family photo. I hope I can get my stomach issues and bp issues worked out so that I can get some of this weight off. As of right now she is talking about October so that gives me 14 or so months. At 3 lbs a month that is 40+ lbs and seems very doable. It would put me at around 220 - of course I would hope I could lose more but I think I will stick with that as my goal until I get closer to that since I repounded again.

It's Friday yay! I can't wait until it's 2 pm and I get to leave early so I can pick up my new glasses. I have to drive to another town 45 minutes away. We have awful weather today, it's pouring rain and cold.

Not much planned this weekend other than cleaning up basement and rearranging. A friend of mine bought 2 of my pantry cupboards I don't use anymore and they're getting picked up this weekend and then I have to rearrange what I have. It's getting kind of messy down there. And then if I finish that it's upstairs to the computer/craft room so I can reorganize. I want to get back to my scrapbooking this winter and need to get rid of stuff I don't need.

Well it's back to work for me, only a few hours left. Have a great day.

July 1, 2014 I want to weigh 180 (the same weight I was in 1985 at high school graduation).

Leslie: You can do it. It's hard getting under the 200 mark but it sure feels good. My next goal after that was 180. I am under by just a little bit and have been going back and forth the last little while. Hoping I can stay under.

Been doing good getting my steps in, usually over 10,000. It helps walking home for lunch when I can and then I exercise an hour after supper. On weekend I usually end up doing more between all the housecleaning and the treadmill.

Eating has been pretty good lately other than the little bits of chocolate that I manage to get into. My BF still has chocolate left over from the chocolate business. Will be so glad when those boxes are empty. I managed yesterday with no chocolate so hopefully I can keep going.

Today is Thankful Thursday I believe: I'm thankful for the support of my boyfriend in my weight loss journey. My mom has been wonderful too. She thinks it's great that I'm finally having success in losing weight.

Well I better get to work, it's press day at the newspaper and I would like to be done before 5 p.m. so I don't have to stay late.

Have a one-der-ful day.
