NSV - I bought some jeans last month and finally found some that are comfortable and that I can wear to work.

Been tracking my food and have been under my calorie range (with exercise) for 2 days in a row. Today will make 3. Still have 700 calories to use and haven't even exercised yet.

On Friday the office is ordering pizza for lunch so I'm trying to watch what I eat until then and then hopefully won't overeat because I love pizza and we don't get it at home.

Back to work, need to finish ads for the newspaper so we can get to press tomorrow. Will be glad when Friday gets here and I'm done early.

How's everyone this week? Any NSV's to share?

I don't really have one for the week except that I made it 2 days completely gluten free.

I head to the endo today. Not really excited for her to say that I failed at losing weight since I saw her. I'm so horrible at tracking these days. I don't know what to do about it.

Hi Cindy, great to see you again.

I made it to onederland as well as losing 100 lbs last fall. I have gained a bit back due to health reasons but am going to work hard at getting it back off. Doctor wants me to lose another 40 lbs and get below 150lbs but we'll have to see. I'd be glad to get in the 160s or somewhere in the 150s. That's my goal for this year to get rid of that last 30 lbs.

I've started journalling again, although I don't like the results but at least I know where I'm going wrong again. And I've increased my time on the treadmill. I'm doing one hour a day, 6 days a week. I try to rest for one day but sometimes I just want to exercise.

I guess I better get back to work, although it's pretty slow here right now. Hopefully 5 pm comes quickly.

Happy 2015!

Well I started logging my food again even though I don't like the results I've logged everything. Even the iced coffee and chocolate chip muffin from Tim Hortons. Boy there is a lot of calories in one of those muffins. Never again.

My coffee break is in 10 minutes so even despite the -17C it is I'm going for a walk around the block. It's a lot warmer than it was this morning when I left for work it was -25C then.

How is everyone else doing? Do you have warm weather where you are? I can't wait until spring when the snow melts and I can do some walking on my lunch hour. I usually walk home, have lunch and then walk back to work.

Well speaking of work better get back to it. Have a great afternoon/evening.

Happy 2015!

Hope that everyone had a fabulous holiday season. I don't know about you but I need to buckle down and get to work. I don't want to be the weight I am right now at my niece's wedding in October. I am embarking on the gluten free experiment and actually made it completely gluten free yesterday. My weight was down about 1.6 lbs this morning so this may be interesting. It was back to my previous weight from last week.

We have been working on cleaning out the cabinets slowly but yesterday I decided that we needed to just overhaul the cabinets, get rid of the expired food (more than I care to admit for so many reasons), most of the gluten containing food, and clean the actual cabinets. We have gone from no breathing room on any of the shelves to needing to get some of the basics. DH is pretty much against doing a shopping trip though because he likes the breathing room. Personally, not having a stocked pantry makes me anxious.

Well, I need to work today so better get moving, I haven't done much of anything except clean off one shelf this morning.

Happy New Year

My starting weight for the new year is 186.0 and my goal for 2015 is to get into the 150s somewhere. The doctor wants me below 150 but I'm not sure about that. I'll be happy in the 150s or even 160s. That's less than I weighed in high school in the 80s.

It has turned really cold here (-27 this morning) and I don't really want to do anything but the housework is waiting for me. Going to put bread in the bread machine, need to do dishes and laundry is piling up and needs to be done. Back to work on Monday and get back to a regular schedule. One good thing, I got a raise for the new year which is nice. It will sure help pay the bills especially the mortgage.

How is everyone else doing? Ready to get back at it?

I started logging my food again which I haven't done in a few months. The ulcer is getting better and so is the IBS. Learning to control with diet which sometimes makes it hard at work especially when everyone orders fast food and brings it back to the office. Oh well, I'll just have to deal with it.

Have a wonderful day, I'm off to do my housework and maybe I'll have time to do some reading later.

Any resolutions? I don't really have any. I want to get back to counting calories again and keep up the exercise. Have about another 20-30 lbs I would like to lose although not going to stress over it.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Ours was quiet. Just BF and me. Got gift cards this year for Shoppers Drug Mart and Kobo. I can add some more books to my library once I finish reading the ones I have in there.

Was off work a week so was able to get rid of some temptation and lost 5.4 lbs which is amazing at Christmastime. Now just need to lose the other 10 lbs that I gained from the ulcer medication I'm on. Going to keep at it and hopefully by the end of January or February. Getting harder to lose weight now that I'm in onederland.

How is everyone else doing? Do you have nice weather?

Gotta get back to work.

Thought I'd pop in and say MERRY CHRISTMAS. Our Christmas is going to be quiet. We're not going anywhere and staying home. And no one is coming over so it's just the 2 of us and the dog and 2 cats.

Probably just getting gift cards for Christmas but that will be fine. Hoping for some Kobo cards so I can buy some more books. I've read over 60 books this year but still have at least 50 books on my kobo before I'm going to order more.

It's been a pretty good year, hoping to get back under 180 before the start of the new year then going to concentrate on losing the last 20-30 pounds the doctor wants me to. She said I should be in the 150s somewhere but we'll see.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and here's to a successful weight loss in the New Year.

My weight is all over the place. I haven't been doing well with going gluten free. I think I am just going to have to go completely cold turkey after Christmas.

Not doing well lately, stupid ulcer. Gained a bunch of weight back but I'm not going to worry about it or weigh myself. Going to start fresh in the new year. Only 3.5 days of work left and then the office is closed until after Christmas so looking forward to that. Hopefully can get my eating back on track when I'm at home for a week.

Still exercising and getting at least 10,000 steps in per day, well at least most days.

How is December going for everyone?

Good morning Happy Monday. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. My Thanksgiving was last month so it was just a regular weekend for me.

Snuck a peek at the scale this morning and not happy. Have gained 8 lbs since going on this ulcer medication. Doctor said not to count calories just watch food choices. Apparently watching isn't doing much since I have gained. I also hurt my hip and back so haven't been doing much exercise. It really hurts to sit, laying down or standing is better. My back is feeling better will be glad when it's pain free.

Seeing the doctor on Friday about my ulcer medication, may have to be on it longer, Saturday was really bad for pain, spent most of the time on the couch other than doing laundry and making some bread.

On the weekend went grocery shopping and bought stuff for salads so going to stick to that this week and see if I can't drop some of the weight I have gained. Also trying to get back to the one hour of exercise I was doing.

Today is my day of rest because after work and supper have choir practice. Tonight is dress rehearsal and performance is next Sunday. It's gone quite fast this year.

Well guess I should head back to work, it's almost lunch time. Having salad with salmon today with a tiny bit of balsamic dressing.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow I start tapering down on gluten. Oh boy, it is going to be harder than I even realized. I know logically that things like chicken noodle soup have gluten but didn't think that cream of chicken soup would - of course it does, flour is a thickener. Hopefully we will get a good portion of the pantry cleaned out this month.

Hmmmm lost my licence hope i can find it. emoticon

had white turkey some stuffing. some mashed potatoes gravy and a roll. i passed on the green bean casserole. had apple crisp. some cookies . we may order pizza or not sure.

CT - glad to hear that you are feeling somewhat better. Hopefully this will all be over soon.

I am transitioning to gluten free during December (cleaning out the pantry and making glutenfree choices at the office and when out) and then going completely gluten free for Jan, Feb, and March at least. I'm hoping it will make a difference in how I feel.
We are getting rid of our breadmaker as well since I havent used it this year.

Starting to feel better. Meds for the ulcer are helping and my hip is finally in except I pulled a muscle in my back so now I'm on muscle relaxers to try and help plus lots of walking and stretching exercises. Hopefully after the weekend the muscle will feel better.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates. My Thanksgiving was last month. Just a regular weekend for me. Going to rest, a little treadmill time and maybe some scrapbooking or just get my room organized. My BF is working on writing a novel so I've been trying to stay out of that room so I don't bother him. There's also the basement to tidy up and put stuff back in the china cabinet now that we're not moving. Lots to do this weekend but going to take it easy.

Doctor also said not to count calories or weigh myself until January. She just wants me to get better and not be worried about the scale or counting calories. Still trying to watch what I eat but I know that I've put on a little weight. That's okay, I'll start again in January.

Have a wonderful afternoon and a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. Eat enough turkey for me too! :)

CT - I hope things have been going a bit better this week.

I hope that everyone that celebrates has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was hoping for a very productive weekend but I don't think it is going to happen.

Not doing well, have no motivation. Doctor told me I'm not allowed to count calories or weigh myself right now because of my ulcer. I have to take my medication and eat the right foods so my ulcer will heal. Haven't weighed myself in a week so no idea where I'm at. Hopefully won't gain too much weight.

Have to go to chiropractor today after work. Last week my hip was out really bad and I don't think it's all the way in because still alot of pain and can't sit for long periods of time. Hopefully he can get it in this time. The other chiropractor wasn't sure he got it in because it was out really bad and was quite swollen. Hopefully this time helps.

Not much else going on just resting because of my ulcer. Just resting and I started scrapbooking again. That's been fun. Got my Christmas cards designed and some regular pages, just need to go through my photos and figure out which photos to use. Don't have many just a lot of cat and dog photos.

Well guess I better get back to work. hope the afternoon goes by quickly.

Woke up craving cream corn with black pepper, salsa verde and cheddar cheese. Not sure where it came from but we tried it tonight for dinner. It was yummy and easy. Definitely something that we will have again, especially if either of us is craving Mexican corn bread (jalapenos and cheese). I'm thinking next time I can get the no salt added cream corn and it should still be fine because of the salsa and cheese. I only used 1/4 cup of cheese for the whole can but then we did put about 1 tbsp of cheese on when serving.

I forgot to put my fitbit back on after I was charging it. That stinks because I was cleaning and doing laundry without it on.

Hope everyone had a healthy weekend and was making plans for a great week!

Yes - I think avoiding tomatoes is the right way to go. I probably should give up dairy and wheat as well but what I found out this week is that I can eat pizza - as long as it doesn't have tomato sauce. This stinks - I really miss them because they are one of my favorite foods. I will have to go through the cabinets - I know I can make some food for my husband to use as lunches so that will be okay but we have a ton of tomato products.
My mom of course reminded me that I was diagnosed as allergic to tomatoes and chicken when I was younger - she never made me stop eating them though - weird. But that is the same as my other allergy - red dye. Oh well. I will figure it out.

I have been slacking with my steps and logging them this month. I had hoped for extra motivation but it doesn't seem to be working. I weighed in this morning and my weight is back up to 271 - not happy. This is the other reason that I think I will have to give up more than tomatoes - I gained 6 lbs this week and I didn't do anything different except what I was eating.

This is such a hard time of year to watch what you are eating - what tricks do you have to share?

Deb: I found tomatoes are bad for my stomach. I avoid if at all possible. Last time I had some homemade marinara sauce I was in pain for hours.

Not doing to bad, yesterday the office was closed for Remembrance Day so just relaxed, watched some tv and spent a little time on the treadmill. I find if I do more than 30 minutes at one time the stomach cramps start. So now I'm limited to 30 minutes.

Trying to watch my food, spoke to my doctor and have to stay on medication for a month and then go back and see her to see if we need to change medication or keep on this stuff. Will be glad when my stomach stops hurting. So far today is a good day but by the end of the night usually pain or cramps.

Well it's back to work I go, with missing a day I feel behind.

Thanks CT - it came back that it is not Celiac but I still could be sensitive to wheat/gluten. I am avoiding tomatoes right now and hoping that improves things.

Deb that salad sounds delicious. Hope your results are okay. Food allergies are not good, I have a couple (onions and oranges). I am having issues with dairy right now and find that Almond Fresh is the only thing I can have. It's hard adapting but once you know what the problem is you can fix it.

Had almost a 1 lb gain this week, not good. This ulcer is kicking my butt. On Saturday spent all day on the couch it was so bad. Although I brought my scrapbooking stuff to the couch and managed to get 30 Christmas cards designed. Now onto my next scrapbooking kits to get some pages done. At least it will give me something to do. I've done enough reading this year (50 books so far).

Haven't been able to get much exercise in because of not feeling well. Hopefully it starts getting better soon so I can get back to my exercise. Going to try to do some tonight after supper.

Well better get to work I guess, hope the day goes by quickly. Tomorrow I have the day off because of Remembrance Day so looking forward to that. Was going to go to the service but it's supposed to be -25 tomorrow and I don't think I want to stand outside in that.

How's everyone's weekend going?

I tired a new salad today - I should have ordered the dressing on the side. It was an apple walnut salad with chicken, goat cheese, and dried cranberries. It had a mix of lettuce and spinach. The dressing was a raspberry vinaigrette but I really didn't need as much as they put on it. I have decided that I do like goat cheese - I just hope it doesn't become a food I can't eat.

I had my egd on Wednesday and am waiting for the final results. It is very possible that I have a significant food allergy. The dr even said that it could be contributing to my weight issue since I have had several times when I have gained weight rapidly. I'm concerned but at the same time if it turns out that it is wheat or milk it is going to be hard to adapt. Worth it, I'm sure but hard.

today is the beginning of my new week so will get my menu made. i am making brownies but will share them with the building. the recipe was in my tops magazine. i plan on increase movement and water i will work on journaling better this week too.

Starting to feel better, eating lots of fruits, veggies and digestive cookies or crackers. They make my stomach feel better. There's alot of food I'm not allowed but it's only 6 weeks and then I can try some of those foods again.

Didn't get any exercise in last night but managed to do lots of steps during the day. Sat down last night and finally got the paper cut up to scrapbook my Christmas cards. Haven't done the ones from last year or this year so hopefully now I can get them done. Who knows if I'll get any mailed but will sure try.

Well off to work I go, my goal today is to finish my water and try to do 30 minutes on the treadmill after supper.

Goals for today......
First off Go Vote, then may do a oil change. go to a mall for walking. get those steps in. come home and cook a healthy meal. but supper will have to be left overs as dont want to have too many things in fridge or will have to freeze. getting started is my hardest challenge for moving.

CT - I'm sorry you still aren't feeling well. That stinks. Hopefully this temporary diet will help and you will be back to feeling 100% in no time.

Leslie - WTG on getting in your steps.

I haven't been walking as much but need to back to it. I have an EGD tomorrow to check out this reflux - I won't be surprised if they say it is an ulcer. I did find a supplement that was helping but I haven't been able to take it for a week.

well did get to store and got some steps in. passed up mcdonalds ice cream cone. made turkey roast still wanted that darn cone so made sf pudding yeah satisfied.

My steps for November haven't been good so far but hoping to get better. Haven't been exercising much because haven't been feeling good. But the doctor thinks she's figured it out. She thinks I have an ulcer so I'm on medication for 6 weeks and a strict diet. Alot of foods I can't have, trying to keep the acid down in my stomach. Lots of fruits and veggies and lean meats. Have had to change how I eat a little. The only thing I'm allowed to drink is water or juice that is not acidic.

Hoping to get back to some of my exercise now that I'm feeling a little better. Barely managed 30 minutes on the weekend but hoping to get it back up to 30 minutes a day or more.

Did manage a little bit of a loss this week which is good. Doctor wants another 20 pounds off but we'll have to see how it goes. I'd be happy to tone up my tummy and arms.

Challenge for November: I prefer steps or miles as that is what my fitbit tracks.

Have had a rough week with my stomach but went to the doctor last night and she's pretty sure it's an ulcer. I'm on ulcer meds for 6 weeks to see if that helps and have to avoid coffee, tea, pop, most juices, chocolate, acidic foods, spicy foods. Very plain diet.

I've probably gained this week as I haven't been able to exercise due to not feeling well. Hopefully the medication kicks in soon and I start to feel better. Going to try some exercise on the weekend if I'm feeling better.
