How's it going PURPLE TEAM?! Getting things going this week for a loss?

My focus is continuing to meet my daily nutritional and exercise goals. Plus, making sure to keep it up during the week nights and weekends. Relaxing is good but not relaxing my eating goals!

OK Purple Team - what's going on?? anybody got some new things that they are doing?

My new thing is the Spring into Shape Challenge! I've completed day 3 and it feels good to have a goal like this. I am hoping to keep this up all month. So for now, I'm just looking at one day - TODAY!

OK Purple Team - remember to post your numbers (if you haven't already). I lost 1 this week. I guess I'm destined to loss one or two a week instead of a lot. But, I allow myself some treats during the week while still eating really healthy. So, I'm going the slow road right now instead of the fast. As long as it goes down the scale, I'm happy!

OK Purple Team!

How's everyone doing. Just checking in to make sure everyone posts their numbers. I am going to do just that after I leave this post.

I am going to try to stay on plan all week. That means I'm going to be checking in often a really needing your help. I want to REALLY challenge myself to do this. To get some significant weight off. I'm tired of this tire around the middle!

I'm afraid that I'm going to be even for this week Purple Team. I weighed in this morning and am posting now before the weekend gets away from me. It's my birthday weekend and I'm afraid that I may over indulge a bit or two! I'm ok with that but I am still going to try to get in my exercise and healthy eating during my regular times. But I won't lie; I'm having a piece of cake!

PURPLE TEAM WON THIS WEEK!! YAY!!

Ok, ladies! Let's keep it up for one more week. This is the last week of the 1Q challenge. Goes by so quickly!

So, what are you doing this week? I am going to make sure to focus on things that I need to for myself. My most difficult part of the day is after work when I really don't want to think about anything. This week I'm going to put more effort in that area and see if I can make a bigger loss.

Hello Purple Team.

I'm afraid I've gone in the opposite direction and posted gains two weeks in a row. I was under a tremendous amount of personal stress, feeling betrayed by multiple people and did alot of emotional stress eating. I tried to pretend it wasn't happening but the scale doesn't lie. I've gained 6 pounds in two weeks and feel dejected. Luckily my husband has been here for me and is trying to pull me back up. I promise to get a loss by the next weighin which is our last one of this challenge. I'm really sorry everyone.

Hey Purple Team!

I haven't gotten much exercise in but have walked a little at lunch. Trying to take a walk at lunch no matter what the weather just to get out of the office and get some fresh air. It really helps my mood! I've been doing ok on eating and am feeling a little bit better than earlier in the week.

Good morning everyone!

Rox...I hope Jerry much luck with the skin cancer removal. How scarey!

Diane....hope the kitty is feeling better.

I just walked my dogs for 45 minutes and finished my strength training for the day. Whoo Hoooo!! I also have 5 pet sitting appointments today and a doctor's appointment for a 2nd opinion. It's a busy day for me! During the doctor's appointment, I'm getting a 2nd opinion on some female issues plus talking to the doctor about hooking me up with a dietician just for a consultation to see if I'm on track with the way I'm eating. I'm feeling very motivated this week which is a nice change from the last few months.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

Well~~~I gained 1.4 this week~~~~I'm going the wrong way, I'm going to change that this week. I have re-pulled a muscle in my neck and the nagging ache is driving me nuts !

For anyone who has met me in person (Syn, Diane...), I tend to carry my weight in my butt so these exercises are key for me. Dr. Oz said that Americans have "spread" in the last couple decades and I can attest to that. The butt has to go!!

I'm up for extending the challenge! I love competition so I'm in!

I'm back and going at it! Not overboard or pushing too hard but I am in a different mind set this week. I was actually starting to gain a little after weigh in last week - UGH!!

Syn - I am definitely still in this! Everyone here sounds so excited this week. YAY!! Me too - I want more weight loss and some toning.

Where are the Dr. Oz exercises that you are talking about? I want to up my daily exercises this weekend. Maybe I'll get in a last chance instead of just doing house work. I know it needs to be done but I'm just not a person who likes that sort of stuff. Time to get in a different mind set. Get the music playing - LOUD! - and get my body moving to the rhythm and groove! Get my Groove thang on!

Hi Rhonda, I saw Dr OZ and those butt blasting exercise are great, not so hard to do and very effective. I am hoping he does a show for firming the arms, I really need that, want to be able to wear tank tops this summer.
My Birthday is this week and I am doing the same Rhonda, just keeping the eating under control. I am doing cardio to counter act some of the treats I know I will have.
I think we are at the start of the last month of the BL challenge, lets make it a big weight loss month for the purple team!

Last week was really at work-auditors in during the week, always stressful. Family issues...bleh! Have a cold, but am drowning it in vitamin C & tea today. I need to get to the gym!

Lost another 1.2 pounds for a total of 5 for this challenge. 5 pounds may not be much for everyone else but it's enormous for me because I've been yo-yoing for over a year. Hello Purple Team!

I joined the Purple Team a month or so ago but have been very selfish with my time since Christmas (trying to get my life back on track) so I haven't been writing much on any chat threads. I'm finally ready to get back in the game. I've been weighing and posting my weight for the Purple Team...just not chatting. I'm back! I think I'm only down a couple pounds for the last month but I've in a great place mentally now so I think the weight will come off easier now.

I started at the beginning of thread and read to get caught up with what the team has been chatting about. Wow!! No wonder everyone is doing so well !! I will follow what the Team has been chatting about...especially the planning aspect. Planning is key.

Keep up the good work, Purple Team!! Having a plan is a good start. That way you have something to fall back on when other life things happen. I tend to think "what did I have planed?" or "what did I already pack?". I don't always stick to it but I stand a better chance at healthy activities than not when I have a plan.

I gained .8 this week--thought for sure I would lose, but couldn't move my rings on weigh in day~~~knew it wasn't meant to be. Weighed myself at home this morning and I was down 2 lbs, but it's not official so plan to keep it off this week !!!

I am going to get lots of exercise and make sure to journal what I eat this weekend. That is different for me and I think will keep me more honest with what I eat and the water I drink. We have lots of fruits, veggies, etc in the house so I'm pushing for the weekend to make a difference.

I read that especially in jobs where you are at your desk all of the time (like me!), you need to get up and walk at least once or twice an hour to keep circulation moving. I am going to track that tomorrow to make sure to get up and moving during the day.

Morning Purple girls~~~~ didn't do well over the weekend-----thought I felt fine SO I ate some popcorn How many ways can we say DUMB !!!!!!! after having intestinal problems, where was my head at ?????

Today I'm feeling better again and I'm doing some house work without any pain. Rain or shine I will at least get a small walk in and definitely will be eating better~~~~I really want to lose again this week, still have 4 to get to my lowest weight on here, and then on to more!!

Cheryl~~~so sorry your weekend was bad, I'm sure you feel totally blind sided by your husband, maybe he's feeling bad about himself?

Debbi~~~~don't get discouraged, look how far you've come, even thinking about what you want to do for yourself is a BIG step in the right direction. How many people don't even care to give it a try~~~~you're ahead of the game !!

Hi Purple team!

Sorry I have not been on the chat-last week was a weird week at work & family. I also made some drastic chalnges to eating habits & excercise (dr double BP Meds) and instead of losing, I gained! I lost 3 of the lbs but still up one as of this morning. I worked out, logged in food, mostly stayed in ranges...grrrrr

A couple people told me it was because of the sudden changes, I know it was water weight my fingers are swollen, but very very frustrating.

Roxie-way to go GF!

Syn - You are a busy girl so I know small amounts will work well on your busiest weeks.

I think that I will end up staying even but I feel with the week that I've had, that is good. I'm posting even right after this and will update it before Monday noon if it changes; maybe it will for the good!!

Keep up a healthy weekend. This is where I fall short most of the time. So, I'm making sure to track, track, track this weekend. And, lots of WATER!! Flush those toxins out!

How are we doing Purple Team??!! How are your weekly goals, daily goals??

Anyone need help?? Need to talk about an issue?? Let's get it out!

My issue this week was that I was so incredibly busy that it seemed impossible to fit exercise in. But I read that you can break exercise down into chunks, like walk 10 minutes 3 times and you've got the 30 minutes done! But, you have to do it with the same intensity that you would for a longer work out. Sometimes only doing 10 minutes at a time allows me to be more intense for that time only. Just a thought . . .

I lost 2 lbs., it probably would have been more BUT I decided to eat my breakfast and drink my coffee as I do each morning. It won't change the outcome in the long run, but I think it is more realistic---????? At least I'm back where I started this challenge.

I am hoping to get my roses pruned, even though they are still blooming, it hasn't been cold enough for them to go dormant. Some are really tall and we've been having our east winds for a few days~~~~sure don't want to get whapped by rose thorns.
I'm glad to say my daffodils and other spring bulbs are up and my daphne is turning pink. Surely a sign that spring is in the air !!!

checking in ~~~~ I had a bad week but I got back on track yesterday---hoping I can get rid of those extra 2 lbs by next week and then some.

Today I totally finished my mom's apart. and left the keys there-----it's over--it really upset me BUT I'm choosing to NOT over eat. For lunch I'm having quinoa and fresh sauteed veggies, dinner will be beef cube steak, zucchini, & tomatoes and brown rice and cole slaw. I'm planning for every day this week.

Irena - I'm in the same boat and have to work hard in exercise to get somewhere. So I will go with that challenge to myself to get in extra works outs this weekend. I don't usually get them in and must continue on a good plan through the weekend.

Today: walk 20 minutes at lunch - it's nice out so I want to get outside!
Tonight: 30 minutes on the peddler while watching tv (if that's what we are doing)
Saturday: Leslie walk video, plus some other video to make 45 minutes
Sunday: chores around the house but I WILL fit in some kind of cardio even if it's just my peddler.

I am challenging myself to do my last chance workout Sunday. Sunday is usually a relax & errand day, and weekend do not workout as much as I should/could. If I'm going to make a dent in this, I'm going to have to work harder. I'll let you know how it goes but my workouts for the weekend:

Great job everyone!
Lets win this challenge! I am weighing in on Friday and getting my weight posted early. Then on to the last chance workout, that seems to be working for me. I set Sun night as a deadline to get both done so I am not running late.
I hope for 1 pound loss this week, I had a huge loss (for me) last week, so can not expect alot. Plus this week is a very stessful one at work!
NSV, I have been peddling my bike every night for 4-7 miles!

Hi~~~sorry about missing the posting time, I'm still working at my mom's apt. and my mind forgot today was even Mon. On Thurs. a charity that gives furniture to the homeless that are moving into new housing will pick-up all the furnishings and dishes etc., then I should be able to pay more attention to the rest of my life. That's my plan, anyway.

I'm trying to eat healthier and get some exercise in, but it's still only here and there.

So I made my 3 pounds plus one! I did do a couple last chance workout, JM Shred it with Weights with a 7 lb kettle bell and LS fast four miles.
How did the rest of the team do? We have until Monday noon to get our weight posted, do not want a penalty taken.

Just saw the chat thread! Hi team.
I am committing to three pounds, I think I had a ton of water weight when I weighed, so I am already seeing two pounds gone. I am doing low carbs after the terrible eating last weekend. I feel back on track. Need to plan a last chance workout, some hard cardio! Maybe a workout DVD that I have that is challenging.

Hi purple team!
I am going to commit (try) for 2 lbs too.
I started my day with 20 mins on the bike, will put in some more after work. At least another 20. Knee being a little finicky-trying not to hurt it. again.

I did it! I set the reminder (which is my alarm on my desk top w/out noise. I'm at my desk all day so that works). I reviewed my goals!! WooHoo!

To make this happen I find that I have to do something to push myself. Doing the remaining 20 minutes of cardio tonight and reminding myself of my goals was my push.

What are you doing to push yourself to meet your goals?!!

Syn I am so glad that you reminded me!! I just set a reminder for 4:00pm (I get off at 5:00pm) to review my goals for the pm. That way I have a focus on what I need/want to do. For today I have:

make dinner: be sure lots of veggies
NO DESERT: except for activia (which is what I allow myself)
Finish laundry
20 minutes on peddler while watching tv to finish up 30 minutes of cardio today

So, that's what I'm reminding myself of before I leave today so that I will make sure to have it in my mind when I leave. Maybe I'll print it also . . .

Nice to have new members!! Yay!

I totally caved tonight with the desert that we had left over from yesterday. I wasn't even hungry after dinner. I am going to practice what I did awhile ago tomorrow. I am going to set a calendar event on my pc calendar at work for a time just before leaving to review my goals and plan for the evening. When I review it prior to going home, it reminds me of what I am doing and what I want to do for that night. I easily just go home and do "whatever" and I don't want to do that. Especially now with our challenge!! Otherwise, I made my goal of exercise, water and the rest.

OK Purple Team!!

I am posting what I am doing on my 1Q Accountability thread. If it would help, I can copy that here also. The biggest thing for me this week is to get back on track being honest with what I am doing and making sure to eat properly at dinner.

Tonight I know that hubby is planning on chicken wings, mixed veggies and waffle fries. I'm going to make sure to get the numbers, post them now and arrange the rest of the day so that I don't go over with dinner. That is good planning for me. tomorrow will be my dinner planning so it will not included fries!

No matter what, I can plan out what I need to do in advance. Being aware and planning is my friend!
